In this chapter you'll be seeing Adhara, Pansy, Cyamus, Theo and slight bits of the Lestrange twins, also quick disclaimer, Lily and James are alive so Harry was raised by them, so that's why he's slightly OOC. Pansy has brown hair in the books, so she has brown hair here, not black. Sorry, I'm not sure if I said black or brown hair in the first chapter or not, but I'm pretty sure I said brown, I might be wrong though, anyways hope you enjoy, I'll try to make this one longer than the last.

Chapter Three, Diagon Alley

July 7th, 1991, 6 Daisy Lane, Birmingham

Adhara Ives and Walsh Ives were woken up very early in the morning by Jonathan Ives' loud booming voice from the bottom of the stairs.

"C'mon ye lazy lumps, get up, we're all going shopping for school," Adhara and Walsh both leapt out of bed, Walsh went over to feed his pet owl, Corncob, whist Adhara ran straight over to her wardrobe to get dressed, she got into a grey tracksuit, a light blue Nike t-shirt, and a yellow Champion sweater as well as a pair navy converse. The girl then tied her chocolate brown hair up into a light plat.

"Mum, have you seen the little bag with my money? I swear I left it on my dresser last night!" Adhara shouted down the stairs.

"No darling I haven't, but why do you need money anyway? Your father and I have already told you that we'll get you everything you need," Sarah shouted back up to her daughter.

"I know but I was gonna get myself something as well, I don't want you and dad to have to get me everything," Adhara kept shuffling through her drawers until, she moved her Hogwarts list and her little bag of paper money and a few coins, "Nevermind I found it, mum!"

"Nearly ready to go, sis? We'll be in the car for around two and a half hours," Walsh asked as he stuck his head in Adhara's bedroom door.

"Just gimme a sec, I just need to brush my teeth," Adhara dashed into the bathroom to brush her teeth, she also cleaned her face while she was at it.

"Come on kids your mothers waiting in the car," Jonathan shouted up the stairs to both of his children.

"Coming Dad," Very quickly, Adhara stuffed the money into her pocket and rushed down the stairs with her brother hot on her trail.

They both rushed out the door together and hopped in the car.

"Next stop London," Mr., Ives said in his speaker voice. "Or the petrol station," everyone in the car started laughing at this, including Mr Ives

"Aye, kids, wake up, we're in London," Adhara and Walsh's father shook both of the two kids in the back seat, "Aye, C'mon,"

"Pas maintenant (Not now)" Adhara groaned, Jonathan looked back at his wife.

"What did she say?" Sarah shrugged, "I didn't know they teach other languages at her old school,"

"They don't," Sarah replied.

"Then how-"

Walsh yawned, "I'm up," he pulled on her sister's eyelids, "Com'on lazy bones, upanadam,"

Adhara groaned again, "K, I'm awake."

"Will Adhara be getting a toad, cat or owl dad? I assume she won't be getting a rat anyway," Walsh asked as he hopped out of the car and slammed the door.

"That's for your sister to decide," Sarah responded doing the same, "Oh come on Adhara get off your lazy backside, the sooner you get up, the sooner we get to Diagon Alley,"

"I know," The girl whined.

When Adhara was finally out of the car, the group started making their way down the street to the leaky cauldron.

"Hank and Cormac said that they'll be coming today, as well, I wrote to them over the Summer, and if I may, I think Corncob has taken a liking to Cormac's eagle owl, Harpie, Harpies supporter that Cormac, but everyone knows that the Appleby Arrows are the best," Walsh went on, Everyone else just nodded not knowing who the Harpies or the Appleby Arrows were.

They finally made their way to the Leaky Cauldron.

"We'll have something to eat before we go maybe," Jonathan suggested to his wife as he looked around to see people eating happily.

"No, if we eat anywhere it should be somewhere in Diagon Alley, best food's there," Walsh responded.

"Alright so, I hope you remember how to get in Walshy, cause we sure don't,"

"Ok, first of all, don't call me Walshy, secondly, of course, I remember, how couldn't I, It's Diagon Alley!"

Jonathan chuckled and ruffled his son's ash brown hair.

"Well lead the way then,"

It was then that Adhara became aware of the voices of another family near the front door.

"Where are we supposed to go mum?" A girl around Adharas age with brown hair and pale skin asked a woman with blonde hair and looked around the same age as her own mother.

"I'm not sure Pansy, the giant man didn't say," The woman responded.

"How are we supposed to get her supplies then?" A man with barely any hair asked, Adhara thought it to be the girl's, who the women had called Pansy, father.

Before Adhara knew what she was doing she left her mothers side and began to walk over towards the family.

"I couldn't help but overhear that you are unaware of how to get to Diagon Alley, not to worry, my brother knows how, you're more than welcome to come along with us if you'd like," Adhara spoke, "Oh, I'm Adhara Ives by the way, I'm going into first year,"

The family looked at her with a mixture of gratitude and relief.

The woman started speaking, "That would be wonderful, thank you very much," The woman responded. "My name is Daneille Rowe, this is my husband Liam, and this is-"

"Pansy Rowe, nice to meet you," The short girl said, "I'm also going into first year," Adhara could have sworn that she had seen the girl before, maybe this family were from Birmingham too.

"Nice to meet you, Mr and Mrs Rowe, you too Pansy," Pansy smiled back at Adhara, "My family are just over there by the back door, but if you would like to stop and get something to eat we can wait for you if you'd like,"

"Oh no no, we won't keep you waiting, it's nice enough that you're helping us," Pansy's dad, Liam smiled.

They all walked over to where the rest of the Ives family were standing watching their youngest member.

"Mum, dad, Walsh this is Daneille, Liam and Pansy Rowe," Adhara gestured to both families, "They need help getting to Diagon Alley,"

"Hello, I'm Sarah Ives," Mrs Ives extended her hand to the two other adults.

"Jonathan Ives," Adhara's father introduced himself.

Adhara got a fright when Pansy leaned in and started to whisper something in her ear, "That man over there looks slightly uneasy don't you think"

"Wait what? Who?" Pansy nodded towards a pale young man in a turban, who was looking around rather nervously, one of his eyes twitching.

"What do you think is wrong?" Pansy whispered.

"Dunno, maybe he's just a cautious person," Adhara responded, still staring at the strange man, the man noticed this, however, and after a few fearful glances, he started making his way over to the two girls who stood frozen not knowing what was going to happen next.

"H-h-hello g-g-g-girls," He said warily once he made his way over, he stood a meter away, not looking them in the eyes.

"Erm, hello sir," Pansy responded, who was also looking at the man warily.

"Y-you t-two going t-to H-h-hog W-warts t-t-this year?" The man asked with sudden curiosity.

"Yep," Adhara responded, she glanced over to her brother who was still laughing with Mr Ives and Mr Rowe.

"Ah, y-y-yes w-what h-house?"

"Dunno, we're only going into first year," Pansy responded as she took a step closer to the girl beside her.

"O-oh, y-yes w-w-well I was i-in R-r-r-Ravenclaw, best h-house t-t-there is I s-say, Oh b-but e-excuse my h-horrid manners, my n-name is Q-Quirrell" The man continued to stutter.

"Oh well um, my name is Adhara Ives," Quirrell frowned, he looked dazed, confused even.

"And I'm Pansy, Pansy Rowe," Quirrell's eyes widened.

Impossible, He thought, But the dragons-the attack- unless-

"L-lovely to meet t-t-t-the both o-of y-y-you, I'll b-be seeing the both of y-you at H-H-Hogwarts" And with that Quirrell took off, leaving the two girls confused, Why would he see them at Hogwarts?

"Who was that?" Walsh suddenly came up behind them making the two girls jump.

"He said his name is Quirrell," Adhara responded furrowing her eyebrows slightly.

"Oh, well come on then you too, we have to get our things for school, Remember?"

The two girls obeyed. Walsh led everyone out to a small, walled courtyard, where there was nothing but a dustbin and a few weeds.

"Stand back please," Walsh turned back to the adults and said. He tapped the wall three times.

The brick he had touched quivered- it wriggled- in the middle, a small hole appeared it grew wider and wider- a second later they were all facing an incredibly large archway, an archway on to a cobbled street which twisted and turned out of sight. Adhara and the Rowes looked out at it in amazement.

"Welcome," Walsh said, "To Diagon Alley,"

Walsh grinned at their amazement, "We were the same, weren't we mum and dad," the other two adults nodded with grins.

They all stepped through the archway, Adhara and Pansy both looked back over their shoulders and saw the archway shrink instantly back into the solid wall.

The sun shone brightly on a stack of cauldrons outside the nearest shop. Cauldrons - All sizes - Copper, Brass, Pewter, Silver - Self-stirring- Collapsible said a sign hanging over them all.

"We need one of those mum!" Pansy called Daneille.

"We need to get you some money first love," Daneille replied to her daughter with a small smile.

Adhara and Pansy both wished that they had eight eyes each, they turned their heads in every direction as they all walked up the street, both trying to look at everything at once: The shops, the things outside them, the people doing their shopping. A plump woman outside an apothecary's was shaking her head as they passed, saying, "Dragon liver, sixteen sickles an ounce, they're mad..."

A low soft hooting came from a dark shop with a sign saying Eeylops Owl Emporium - Tawney, Screech, Barn, Brown and Snowy.

"Walsh has a brown barn owl, his name is Corncob," Adhara said to Pansy who was also looking at the sign.

"Are they nice? Owls I mean," She replied. Adhara nodded.

"Corncob is anyway, Walsh says most owls in the wizarding world are trained," Pansy's eyes widened at what her new friend had just said.

"That's amazing," Pansy replied, Adhara grinned back at her, "Wait, are you muggle-born Adhara?"

"Yes, my brothers one too, apparently it's quite rare, for there to be two muggle-born children in one household, that's what McGonagall said anyway,"

"McGonagall? Who's that?"

"She's the woman who came to give me my letter, she's also the deputy headmistress," The girl with Chocolate brown hair responded.

"Oh, I was visited by a woman called professor Sinistra, she said that she teaches astrology, and a large man came and showed us to the Leaky Cauldron, I believe his name was Hagrid, but he had to leave then, had business to attend to or something like that," Pansy responded to Adhara, who nodded in reply.

Several children around the two girls age had their nose pressed against a window with a broomstick in it, Adhara recognized one of the boys, but no it couldn't be, it looked to be a boy that was in her class in her old school, the boy with sunflower hair turned around so that Adhara could see his face, and it was indeed Cy Wills.

Suddenly the boy's eyes met hers, he shook his head as if to see if he was imagining things, a confused look then crossed his face.

"Cy?!" Adhara yelled as she darted over to the shop window.

"Adhara? What are you doing here?" Cy still looked shocked.

"I'm getting my school supplies, Are you going to Hogwarts too?"

"Ye, since when- um who's that," Cy was looking at Pansy who was running over towards them, the four adults and Walsh had stopped again looking back at their children and sister.

"Adhara what are you doing?" Pansy asked breathlessly.

"Oh erm, Pansy, this is my friend from school, Cy Wills, Cy this is Pansy Rowe, she's going to Hogwarts too, we just met at the Leaky Cauldron," Adhara introduced both her friends to each other.

"Hello," They both said in unison.

"Oh, I got my wand a few minutes ago, dad's off getting me quills, mum's off getting me a toad, but anyway, would you like to see?" Cy asked excitedly, it was when he started searching through the rucksack on his back that Adhara realized he had one.

Both girls nodded furiously, both completely ignoring their parents' calls.

Cy pulled out a long thin box from his rucksack, he opened it up and pulled out his wand.

"Walnut wood, Phoenix feather, eleven inches," He stated proudly, someone suddenly called for him in the distance, they all looked over to see Mr Wills. "Coming Pops!" Cy yelled back, he then turned to Adhara, "I gotta go, but call over to my house tomorrow, we'll talk then, oh and, lovely meeting you Pansy, can't wait to get to know you better at Hogwarts," Pansy smiled, and Cy ran off.

"He was at your school? Then is he a muggle-born too?" She asked Adhara.

"Yes to your first question, and as for your second, I'm not entirely sure," The girl replied.

"Adhara!" The two girls looked over at Mrs Ives, "What are you waiting for? Come on!" They both ran back over to the rest of the group.

"Was that Cy Wills?" Walsh questioned, Adhara nodded eagerly.

She couldn't believe it, Cy was a wizard too, now she had at least two friends at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

"Cy Wills? Is he one of Cory's boys?" Mr Ives asked Adhara, who nodded again.

Cory Wills was one of the best doctors in Digbeth, Birmingham, him and Jonathan Ives were good friends.

"Ah he's a nice boy, his mother tells me so many wonderful things, he's really a wizard?" Mrs Ives asked, Adhara nodded for the third time, "That's great, you've already got friends in Hogwarts, things are looking good love, but anyway, please don't go running off again, the two of you have a lot of things to get,"

The group continued, Pansy and Daneille were especially interested in the shop that was selling robes, while Liam was curious about the shop selling telescopes and strange strange silver instruments Adhara and Pansy had never even seen before, windows stacked with barrels of bat spleens and eels' eyes, Pansy made a disgusted expression at all these. There were also tottering piles of spell books, quills and rolls of parchment, potion bottles, globes of the moon...

"Gringotts," said Walsh.

They had reached a snowy-white building that towered over the other little shops. Standing beside its burnished bronze doors, wearing a uniform of scarlet and gold, was-

"Don't freak out, it's just a goblin, they won't hurt ya," Walsh warned, Pansy squeaked, Adhara heard Liam Rowe mutter words such as 'Just a goblin, ok, that makes everything so much better', while her parents just looked uncomfortable.

They all walked quietly in their little group up the white stone steps towards the goblin. He was about a head shorter than Adhara, a half a head shorter than Pansy. He had a swarthy, clever face, a pointed beard, and everyone seemed to notice, very long fingers and feet. The goblin bowed as they walked inside. Now they were facing a second pair of doors, silver this time, with words engraved upon them:

ENTER STRANGER, BUT TAKE HEED

OF WHAT AWAITS THE SIN OF GREED,

FOR THOSE WHO TAKE, BUT DO NOT EARN,

MUST PAY MOST DEARLY IN THEIR TURN,

SO IF YOU SEEK BENEATH OUR FLOORS

A TREASURE THAT WAS NEVER YOURS,

THIEF, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED, BEWARE

OF FINDING MORE THAN TREASURE THERE

A pair of goblins bowed them all through the silver doors and they were in a vast marble hall. About a hundred more goblins were sitting on high stools behind a long counter, scribbling in large ledgers, weighing coins on brass scales, examining precious stones through eyeglasses. There were too many doors to count leading off the hall, and yet more goblins were showing people in and out of these. The Rowes and Ives separated for a bit, each going over to a different counter each.

The Ives were exchanging their pounds for galleons, sickles and knuts, they were being served by a goblin called Larluk.

"Would you like to go down to your vault Ms?" Larluk asked looking at Adhara, Adhara looked around, to see if there was anyone else he could be speaking to, she pointed to herself and then, and mouthed 'Me?' the goblin nodded.

"Um... perhaps you have me mistaken with somebody else, Sir, I don't own a vault,"

"Ah yes, I apologise, I must have... mistaken you for somebody else," The goblin went back to counting the wizard's money, which he handed over a few moments later. "That should be enough," The Ives thanked Larluk and exited the bank, where the four waited for the Rowes.

"Adhara, Walsh, both of you show me your lists, I would like to see where we're going first," Mrs Ives told her children.

"Mum I'm supposed to be meeting Hank outside of Rosa Lee Teabag, can't I get my stuff with him?" Walsh pleaded.

"All right, meet us at the ice cream shop in three hours so, and don't go and be causing any trouble now," Mrs Ives went on, Walsh nodded.

"You know I won't mum, I'll see you in about three hours," Walsh went walking off in another direction.

Adhara watched him leave and then took out her list and handed it to her mum.

When Adhara's mother had just about finished re-reading the list the Rowes had finally exited Gringotts. Pansy looked very pleased with herself with the small bag of money in her fist.

"Might as well get the uniforms first," Mrs Ives nodded towards Madam Malkin's Robes for All Occasions.

"You two go in there and get fitted for your robes, don't worry about counting money, the lady knows all about that I'm sure, Daneille and I will go looking for your quills,"

"What'll we do," Jonathan piped up.

"You two can come along," Danielle laughed.

"Go along now you two, meet us back here in twenty minutes," Sarah urged the two along.

Adhara and Pansy ran off to the robe shop, not being able to contain their excitement of going into their first-ever shop in the wizarding world.

When the two entered Madam Malkin's, a wave of nervousness washed over them both. Their first ever wizarding shop

Madam Malkin was a squat, smiling witch, dressed in all mauve.

"Hogwarts dears?" She asked when Adhara began to speak. "Got a lot here - a young man being fitted up just now in fact."

The two girls looked to the back of the shop, there stood a weedy and stringy boy with copper brown hair on a footstool while a second witch pinned up his long black robes. Madam Malkin dragged Adhara over to the footstool across from him, leaving Pansy to wait on a yellow plush sofa. Madam Malkin stood Adhara up on the stool, slipped a long robe over her head, and began to pin it to the right length while muttering, 'Small for your age aren't you, but of course not as small as your friend I suppose,'

"Hullo," The boy across from her greeted blankly, "Hogwarts too?"

"Yes," Adhara responded with a small smile. Thinking that she had also seen that boy before.

"My father's next door buying my books and Mother's up the street looking at wands with my godmother, dunno why she came really, she hasn't got any children," said the boy. He had a bored, drawling voice. "Well she did, but she died, along with all the other kids that night," Adhara's heart leapt, was he talking about... "Then I'm going to drag them all off and look for racing brooms, I don't see why first years can't have their own, I think I'll bully Father into getting me one and I'll smuggle it in somehow,"

Adhara didn't like the boy.

"Have you got your own broom?" The boy went on.

"No," She replied.

"Play Quidditch at all?"

"No," Adhara said again, only vaguely remembering Quidditch being mentioned by Professor McGonagall and Walsh. Was it like soccer? Because if it was she would most likely be good at it. She looked over towards Pansy who was still sitting quietly looking out the window at the front of the shop.

"I do - father says it's a crime if I'm not chosen to play for my house, and I must say, I agree. Pity the Malfoy and Lestrange's children died, they had amazing Quidditch genes, and I would have had some more kids to play it with growing up, it gets quite boring with Thorfinn, Kaius and Tytus, Estelle and Clara can't play well," Adhara stared down at the ground wide-eyed, Malfoy? Lestrange? Two of the worst death eater families out there and this boy knew them, according to Walsh anyway. "But anyways, Know what house you'll be in?"

"No," Adhara was feeling stupid and stupider by the minute.

"Well, no one really knows until they get there, do they, but I know I'll be in Slytherin, all our family have been, imagine being in Hufflepuff, I think I'd leave, wouldn't you?"

"Mmm," Adhara said, wishing she could say something a bit more interesting. It was then the boy looked up at Adhara again.

"Who are your parents, and what do they do?"

Adhara gulped, there was no doubt that this boy was a pureblood, but would he be a supremacist? If he was in any way involved with the death eaters that her brother had told her so much about, then the answer was clear. But she couldn't lie, he would find out eventually.

"Muggles, my dad's a carpenter and my mum's a zoologist," The boy's eyes narrowed and he scowled. Adhara knew that she had been right with thinking he was a supremacist.

"So I've been talking to a Mudblood," He stated, the woman who was fiddling with his robes looked up at the two, her face full of horror. Adhara didn't know what that meant, but she knew it must have been bad, she decided not to respond, so instead, she frowned.

Neither of the two made a sound over the next three minutes. Relief flooded Adhara's body when the woman took the boy over to the till to pay for the clothing.

The same woman who was fitting the boy came back with Pansy, who could see the blank look on the other girl's face and gave her a confused look. Which Adhara ignored.

When the two were finally done in Madam Malkins the two decided to wait for their parents where they had left them.

"What are houses? Quirrell asked what one we were in, he said he was in Ravenclaw," Pansy asked all of a sudden.

"It's kind of like a group you're sorted into, there are four of them,"

"What do you mean?"

"I'm not quite sure actually, Walsh only told me a small bit, I only really know the houses and what kind of people are in them..."

Adhara told Pansy all that she knew about each house, which Pansy was thankful for.

"I'm not very smart, nor am I very brave, my best guess is that I'll be in either Hufflepuff or Slytherin, but I'd like to be in the same house as you, I couldn't stand not having any friends in my house," Pansy said.

"Well I think you're smart Pansy, I don't know you well enough to say whether you're brave or not, but I would say you are," Pansy beamed at her friend. "As for me, well I'd prefer Gryffindor, but Walsh said that you don't get to choose your own house, so I'll accept whatever house I'm put in, well I'll have to won't I, oh hey there they are," Adhara waved at the approaching adults who each had bags in their hands.

"Well, you two, safe to say you're both good for quills and ink for the next eight years," Pansy's dad chuckled.

"This is all quills and ink?!" Pansy asked, her mouth open slightly.

"Some of it is paper- parchment, and we also decided to go to get your telescopes and cauldrons," Mr Ives replied, and sure enough there were two cauldrons in his hands and telescoped in one of the bags Mrs Rowe had.

They all went to Flourish and Blotts next to buy the girls school books, the shelves were stacked to the ceiling with books as large as paving stones bound in leather, books the size of postage stamps in covers of silk; books full of peculiar symbols and a few books with nothing in them at all. While Adhara already had four of her books, Pansy had none, so she was more than happy to help Pansy find all the books that Pansy did not have.

"Hello, sir do you know where I can find Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them?" Adhara asked the man at the counter.

"Over there," He replied pointing over to a platform halfway up the stairs.

"Thanks," She walked back over to Pansy who was standing looking at some funny looking quills. "What are those?"

"They're called secretive quills, they're quills used to write secret messages, the only people that can see is the person who writes and people with the other quills that came in the same packaging, there's ten per package, and you can also use them to send secret messages when the other person isn't in the room, for example, we could use them if I went back home to Kent and you went back home to Birmingham, it would be like emailing, the quills are brothers and sisters, so they can communicate easily," Pansy picked up the packaging with the quills and looked over them carefully.

Adhara ruffled through her pocket and pulled out her own bag of galleons and sickles. "Hand me one of the packages there please will you Pansy," Pansy's eyes widened.

"Really?"

"I have more than enough, this is my birthday money, and it seems worth it, don't you think?"

Pansy nodded, "If you're sure then,"

"But let's pay after we get the last book, do you know where my mum is?"

"She said she was going to look over there," Pansy pointed over to the Divination corner, and surely enough, Mrs Ives was there.

"Alright let's just get the last book and we can pay,"

The girls paid for their books and Adhara paid for the quills, which were six galleons in total, and left Flourish and Blotts.

They both got a nice set of scales for weighing potion ingredients. Then they visited the apothecary's, which was fascinating enough to make up for its horrible smell, a mixture of bad eggs and rotted cabbages. Barrels of slimy stuff stood on the floor, Pansy went over to look but Adhara pulled her away saying that if the smell got stronger they might not be able to smell for much longer, there were also other things such as jars of different herbs, dried roots and bright powders lined the walls, bundles of feathers, strings of fangs and snarled claws hung from the ceiling. While Mrs Ives asked the man behind the counter for a supply of some basic potion ingredients that he would think first years would need, Pansy examined the silver unicorn horns, at twenty - one Galleons each, while Adhara explained the minuscule, glittery black beetle eyes for five knuts a scoop.

The girls and their mothers made their way out of apothecaries.

"Where's dad and Mr Ives mum?" Pansy inquired to her mother as she looked at the bag of money that was slowly starting to get smaller.

"They've gone off to look around darling, you know how men are, always getting the women to do all the work," the other three laughed at Mrs Rowe's joke.

"Where to next Mum?" Adhara asked her own mother.

"There's really only two things left to do before we go and meet your brother, your wands and pets, I think we might go and get your pets first, then we'll worry about the wands," Adhara and Pansy had been looking forward to these two things the most.

The mothers and their daughters made their way to Eeylops owl Emporium.

When inside there were owls of every size, shape and colour. A large grey one caught Adhara's eye.

"What kind of owl is that?" She asked the man at the counter with thick bushy eyebrows.

"Ah, he's a beaut so he is, eagle owl, don't usually sell any like him, he was left here as an egg by a woman who just found a bunch in her backyard, the mother was killed she thought, couldn't find anyone to take him, everyone wants small owl-like a screech or tawny," The man replied as he looked up to the cage where the bird was.

"I'll take him,"

The man looked down at her in surprise, "A wee thing like yourself? Are you sure? That owl likes no one, I'm telling ya, bite the fingers off ya so he would,"

"I'm sure I can handle myself, sir, not to worry. How old is he anyway?"

"Five months, so fairly young,"

"What one are you getting love?" Adhara looked around to see Mrs Ives. Adhara pointed up at the grey eagle owl that had a white neck. Mrs Ives nodded. "He's lovely,"

"He'll be nine galleons, comes with the cage of course," The man got a stool out so he could step up and get the cage, when he finally got a hold of the cage, the owl drilled its beak into the man's hand, this drew a few curses from the shopkeeper, Adhara's mother cringed, but Adhara giggled.

"Well here ye go, now be careful and watch your hands, good luck, you're gonna need it." The man handed the girl the owl in the cage, to his surprise, the owl did nothing.

Sarah Ives gave the nine galleons and the two left the shop with Daneille, Pansy, and Pansy's newly bought tawny owl, that she had already named Felix.

'It suits him,' she had said to them, 'It means happy in Latin, and he's a very happy bird,' she had said the last part proudly, Adhara had to stifle a laugh.

Adhara looked down at the cage that held her unnamed owl and smiled, the owl was fast asleep with his head under his wing. Both girls couldn't stop thanking their mothers, they were both stamparing so much that they had sounded like Quirrell.

"Just Ollivanders left now, Walsh got his wand at Ollivanders," Mrs Ives had told them all.

The last shop was old and shabby. Peeling gold letters over the door read Ollivanders: Makers of fine wands since 382 BC. A single wand lay on a faded purple cushion in the dusty window.

"Sarah and I are going to go meet your fathers at Florean Fortescue's Ice Cream Parlour, you two go in and get your wands, we'll see you soon, come to the Parlour when you're both done, and come together girls, we don't want you getting lost. The two mothers each handed their daughters ten galleons each, saying that it would surely be enough for a wand. With that, the two older women picked up the owl cages and walked off in the direction of Florean Fortescue's.

"C'mon." Pansy nudged Adhara.

A tinkling bell rang somewhere in the depths of the shop as they both walked inside. It was a tiny place, empty except for a single spindly chair. Adhara had felt as though she had entered a very strict library. She and Pansy looked at the thousands of narrow boxes piled neatly up to the top of the ceiling.

"Good afternoon," came a soft voice, both the girls jumped.

An old man was standing before them, his wide, pale eyes were shining like moons through the gloom of the shop.

"Hello." Pansy greeted awkwardly.

"Ah yes, I thought that I'd be seeing the two of you soon, been a long time since your relatives had come in here, such fine wands that they received too," Adhara assumed he was talking about Walsh, "The papers cannot fool me, I know a lie when I see one, you both have both your fathers eyes," Pansy's head tilted to the side, while Adhara frowned in confusion.

Mr Ollivander moved closer to the girls, both girls wished he would blink. Those silvery eyes were a bit creepy.

"I sold many wands, many to good," He paused, "And many to bad," He finished sadly, "I remember to one horrible person in particular," Adhara gulped, "Thirteen and a half inches, yew, powerful wand, very powerful, and in the wrong hands... well, if I'd known what the wand was going out into the world to do..."

He shook his head, and to the girl's relief, turned around to walk over to the shelves.

"Hmmm," Said Ollivander, glancing back at the two girls, "Well now, you," He spoke as he turned his attention to Adhara, who could see Pansy relax slightly beside her. "Let me see." The older man pulled a long tape measure with silver markings out of his pockets and walked back over to the blue-eyed girl. "Which is your wand arm?"

"Er - well, I'm right-handed," Adhara responded.

"Hold out your arm. That's it," He measured Adhara from shoulder to finger, then wrist to elbow, shoulder to floor, knee to armpit and around her head. As he measured, he said; 'Every Ollivander wand has a core of powerful magic substance. We use unicorn hairs, phoenix tail feathers and the heartstrings of dragons. No two wands are the same, just as no two unicorns, dragons or phoenixes are quite the same. And of course, you will never get such good results with another wizard's wand."

Adhara suddenly realized that the tape measure, which was measuring in between her nostrils, was doing this on its own. Both her and Pansy looked at it in awe whilst Mr Ollivander was flitting around the shelves, taking down boxes.

"That will do," he spoke, and the tape measure crumpled into a heap on the floor, Right then, Ms, try this one, Beechwood and unicorn hair, ten inches, nice and flexible, just take it and give it a wave."

Adhara took the wand and waved it around a bit, but Mr Ollivander snatched it out of her hand almost immediately.

"Maple and phoenix feather, seven inches, quite whippy, try-"

Adhara tried - but she had hardly raised the wand, when that one too, was snatched back also by Ollivander.

"No, no - here, ebony and unicorn hair, eight and a half inches, springy. Go on, go on, try it out,"

Adhara tried. And tried. She had no idea what Mr Ollivadner was waiting for. And she could see that Pansy was getting quite bored. The pile of wands was mounting higher and higher on the spinny chair, but the more wands Mr Ollivander pulled from the shelves, the happier he seemed to become.

"Tricky customer, eh? Not to worry, we'll find the perfect match here somewhere - I wonder, now - yes, why not - unusual combination - Larch wood and Dragon Heartstring, ten and a half inches, slightly springy,"

Adhara took the wand. She felt a sudden warmth in her fingers. She raised the wand above her head, brought it swishing down through the dusty air and a stream of red and gold sparks shot from the end like a firework, throwing dancing spots of light on to the walls. Pansy clapped, although not really knowing what she was clapping at. Mr Ollivander cried, 'Oh bravo! Yes, indeed, oh very good, Well, well, well... how curious... but not surprising really considering..."

"Sorry," Adhara spoke up, "But what's curious?"

Mr Ollivander fixed Adhara with his pale stare.

"I remember every wand I've ever sold, Ms. Every single wand. It so happens that the dragon whose heartstring is in your wand gave two more heartstrings - just two more. It is very curious indeed that you should be destined for this wand when its brother and sister - why they belong to Bellatrix and Rodolphus Lestrange,"

Adhara's heart stopped, and Pansy looked at her in confusion. She didn't know who those two people were, Adhara knew she would ask later on.

"Yes, twelve and three-quarter inches, walnut and twelve inches, Silver Lime. Curious indeed how these things happen. The wand chooses the wizard, remember... I think we must expect great things from you Ms..."

"Ives," Adhara finished quite blankly.

"Ms Ives," Ollivander smirked at this, a knowing glint in his eyes, "After all, the Lestranges did great things - terrible yes, but great."

Ollivander turned his attention to Pansy now, much to Adharas relief.

It had taken Pansy two tries to find her wand. Elmwood with a Unicorn hair core, ten inches, Slightly yielding.

The two paid their seven gold galleons each, and they walked out the door voicing their thanks. Once gone Mr Ollivander started to chuckle to himself.

"Horntail attack," He chuckled lowly, "I think not."

Adhara and Pansy made their way out the shop door.

"Well that was a bit weird don't you think? Who are the Lestrange's?" Pansy asked.

"Followers of You Know Who, apparently some of his best, wonder how they'd react if they found out that the three of us have the exact same wand core, from the same dragon and everything, me, a muggle-born," Pansy paled at Adharas answer, she must have known who You Know Who was.

"So, what was the Ice cream parlour's name again?"

"Florean Fortescue's Ice Cream Parlour, Walsh loves it, he said that one day a seventh year tried to use something called the floo network in the middle of the just to sneak in and steal some of their ice creams a few years ago, but ended up in a teachers sleeping quarters, I believe her name was Nymphadora." Both girls laughed.

As they walked past an alleyway the girls heard yelling.

They both looked at each other, confused, before they finally peered down, when they did they saw a tall woman with greyish hair yelling at twin boys that looked about their age, their hair was the same colour as Adhara's.

"FALCO YOU LITTLE PIECE OF SHIT, I SWEAR TO GOD WHEN I GET YOU HOME YOU'LL WISH YOU'D NEVER BEEN BORN, AND AS FOR YOU REIN, YOU BETTER HOPE THAT YOUR FATHER IS IN A GOOD MOOD, CAUSE HE SURE AS FUCK WON'T BE HAPPY WITH THE BOTH OF YOU," The women screeched, the two boys were backed up against the wall, one boy whos hair was slightly longer than the seconds started to cry.

Pansy tugged on a distraught Adhara's arm.

"We can't just leave them, Pansy, she's horrible,"

"What can we do Adhara? Really, we can't just go down there and tell her to stop, well we could, but that could get the boys in even more trouble," Adhara sighed, Pansy was right. The screeches of the woman were still ringing in her ears like an alarm. She couldn't take it anymore.

"Let's go," She muttered. Pansy and Adhara resumed their walk to the ice cream parlour.

Adhara and Pansy reached the outside of Florean Fortescue's Ice Cream Parlour and smiled up at the sign, they were both starving after three long hours of shopping, and they couldn't wait to see what flavours the wizarding world had to offer.

The girls were relieved to see that their parents and Adharas brother along with his friends had arrived at the same time as they had.

"Just going to get our own ice cream love, you've got your money haven't you? Follow us in when you're ready," Sarah Ives told her daughter who nodded in response.

"Well, what wand did you get?" Walsh walked over and asked his sister.

"Erm, Larch wood and Dragon heartstring, ten and a half inches, slightly springy flexibility." Adhara took the wand out of the box and showed it to Walsh. She had admired it herself as well, the wand had a gold line swirling around the handle.

Walsh received an elbow in the stomach from a blonde boy with green eyes. "Aren't you gonna introduce us Walshy?"

Walsh glared, "Adhara this is Cormac Mclaggen," He said, his hand venturing to point at the blonde boy, "And this is Hank Kavanagh," The boy he gestured to next was a tall friendly looking boy with short strawberry blonde hair.

"Nice to meet you, I'm Adhara Ives, and this is Pansy Rowe," Pansy waved with a tight grin. There was an awkward silence.

"Come up with a name for your owl yet Adhara?" Pansy asked, trying to put an end to the silence. The two girls walked away from the three boys and into the shop where their parents were ordering their own ice creams first. Adhara and Pansy stopped in front of the sign and read all the flavours.

"I was thinking something along the lines of Strudel."

"Why Strudel?"

"Dunno, just sounds nice, know what flavour you want yet?"

"Yep,"

Adhara went to order first, she was greeted by a friendly looking man at the counter who called himself Florean Fortescue.

"Ello there love, what can I getcha on this fine evening?" He asked in a cheerful voice that made Adhara smile.

"Could I please get one medium chocolate chilli?"

"Could I please get one medium chocolate chilli?"

"Aunt Bella please, I won't get caught with the broom, I'll be careful, nobody will know, honest"

"No, Gods sakes, Theodore, I'm not going to get you a broom, you're not allowed and that's final, plus your parents would kill me, and I'm really not in the mood to listen to their ranting." Bellatrix shot back at her godson, Theodore Nott. Both of them were walking to meet Orietta Nott from Knockturn Alley.

"Oh but please, you're my godmother, you're supposed to get me these things, besides, you have one of the largest vaults in Gringotts, larger than the Notts mind you, can you really not spare just two hundred Galleons for your sweet little godson."

Bellatrix scoffed. "Ask your mother Theodore, I have better things to spend my money on. Now come along, I'll get you ice cream instead." She was now looking in the crowd for Orietta, when Bellatrix didn't see her she kept walking, ignoring the constant worried glances the two were getting.

Theo glared. "Well it's not like you've got a kid to spend your money on is it?" He stopped almost suddenly, but it was too late, he had already spoken. All he could do now was to accept his fate and take it as his father would. He was used to Aunt Bella's wrath, right?

Bellatrix halted, her eyes narrowed dangerously at the boy, although she knew Theodore was wrong. the only children that had been informed of what truly happened were Estelle and Clara, the two had been sneaking around at midnight again to get snacks when the adults were drunk one night, and their father, Kent Selwyn, had mentioned it. This was two years prior. They were only twelve and eleven at the time. They were quite shocked. The adults wanted nobody knowing that the children were still alive, gods none of the remaining children even knew the names of the missing ones.

It took every ounce of Bellatrix not to whip around and punch her godson in the face. Her fists were clenched as was her jaw.

Should have been that worthless little flobberworm instead of my Adhara, She had thought bitterly.

"Yes, well," She forced out, "I just remembered, I'm already buying Titus a broom, I think that's enough spent for a day, perhaps you'll just have to settle for the ice cream." Of course, this was a complete and utter lie. Bellatrix wouldn't be caught dead buying even a strand of muggles hair for the ungrateful little prick known as Titus Mulier Carrow. She suppressed a laugh when she saw the look on Theos face.

"What are you two talking about?" The two looked ahead to see Orietta walking out of the apothecary.

"We were just talking about Quidditch mum," Theo shouted out before Bella could.

"Oh?" Orietta walked over to the two and linked her arms with her sons.

"Mum can I please get a raci-"

"No." Theo huffed.

"Oh and I forgot to tell you, I spoke with Mudbloods today, filthy things they are too." Theo went on as they went down the street. "I am appalled that I actually thought one to look like Aunt Bella, but it seems as though her blood is as filthy as Giants piss, I cannot see the resemblance anymore, of course, it was quite silly of me."

Bellatrix and Orietta both stopped dead in their tracks and stared at the boy in silence for a good ten seconds.

"What was this girl's name, Theodore?" Bellatrix questioned, hoping for the boy to say her daughter's name.

"Dunno, I didn't ask, once I discovered her filthy blood I stopped talking to her."

Orietta looked at Bellatrix and raised an eyebrow. The woman with curly black hair replied with shaking her head as if telling Orietta to leave it until later, Bellatrix would investigate further.

"So what Ice cream do you want boy?" Bella changed the subject.

"Raspberry and chocolate."

"Alrighty so," The three could now see Florean Fortescue's Ice Cream Parlour, "Orietta, d'ya want anything?" Bellatrix drawled.

"No thank you, Bella, I'll have something this evening."

"Suit yourself so."

Bellatrix went into the parlour with the two and ordered one chocolate chilli for herself and one Raspberry and Chocolate. When she came back out she had spotted Orietta and Theo sitting down in chairs in front of the building.

"There you go, boy." She handed the tub to her godson, who didn't come to play however since he had snatched the tub straight out of her hands within seconds and started spooning the ice cream into his mouth straight away without a thank you. Bellatrix glared, this didn't go unnoticed by Theo.

"Thanks." He mumbled.

"No problem at all godson mine." She said as she ruffled his hair. Theo glared but continued to gobble up his ice cream. She suddenly became aware of a few voices behind her.

"Are you ok Adhara? You've gone pale." Came the voice of what seemed to be a girl.

Adhara? Adhara!

Bellatrix turned around quickly almost falling out of her chair in the process. She scanned her current surroundings looking for any sign of her daughter.

Her eyes finally landed on a girl a few tables over. Bellatrix knew that it was her Adhara, she had inherited Rodolphus's chocolate brown waves, but she still had Bellatrix' nose and cheekbones. Bellatrix looked at her in awe. Bellatrix knew that she had fallen in love with Adhara all over again. She was beautiful, she was hers.

A scowl spread across the witch's face once she had seen the people with her child. Muggles. No doubt about it, there wasn't an ounce of magic in four of the adults' aura. Although the other children were most certainly magical. But the other children weren't Bellatrix Lestrange's concern at the moment.

Bella turned her scowl to the man who had his arm around the child's back, it moved to the woman beside him, who was holding his remaining hand, but then her eyes travelled back to her daughter and softened. It was then Bellatrix noticed the grey owl under Adhara's seat, she grinned.

So Adhara will be starting Hogwarts.

Bellatrix almost smiled when Adhara had looked up and met her eyes, but then it hit her.

She was making eye contact with the child who was so cruelly taken from her and her husband. She was making contact with the child who she had never got to raise or watch grow up. She was making contact with the child who she had missed and yearned for eight long years. She was staring at the child that she should have been tucking into bed and giving goodnight kisses, not that filthy muggle bitch.

Bellatrix realized that Adhara still had Rodophus' sapphire blue eyes. She was a perfect combination of the Lestrange and Black bloodline, and her cheekbones were Rosier of course. Druella would be proud.

"Are you done Adhara love?" The woman who Bellatrix already dispised more than one could put into words had asked the girl, who nodded in response, A smile also on Adhara's face, one that looked exactly like Anabel Lestrange's, Rodolphus and Rabastan's mother.

Bellatrix almost growled, she wanted the eye contact with her child to continue a small bit longer. She hadn't seen Adhara for nearly eight whole years, she wasn't about to let her go again without being certain that she could keep track of her. Screw the other two fools who were sitting at the table with her, she needed to go, now.

She got up slowly, eyes never leaving the table where her Adhara was also getting up from.

"Where are you going Bellatrix?" Orietta piped up, Bellatrix dared to look away from Adhara for a few seconds.

"It's her,"She said with a clenched jaw. "I need to go, tell Rod I'll be home late and where I'm going, tell him not to worry."

"Are you done Adhara love?" Sarah asked her daughter as she got up and grabbed her handbag.

Adhara smiled and nodded in response.

"I'll see you next week Walsh, remember to bring your books, cause we'll be dropping you off at the station, don't want another situation like last year do we?" Hank teased. Walsh would be going over to his house next week.

"You're never gonna let me live that down are you?" Walsh huffed.

"Nope." Hank laughed, Cormac joined in seconds later.

"Walsh c'mon how d'we get back to The Leaky Cauldron?" Jonathan called out to his son.

"Are we going back with the Rowe's, mum?" Adhara asked as she looked up to her mother.

Sarah looked over to Daneille and Liam. "That's only if they would like."

"I don't see why not," Liam replied as he put his hand on top of Pansy's head.

"Whereabouts did you park?" Jonathan Ies went on to ask, he pulled his arm back from his daughter.

Pansy walked over towards her.

"Adhara?"

"Yeah?"

"We're friends aren't we, I know we only just met a few hours ago but..."

Adhara scoffed, "Of course we are, Pansy, why ever would we not be?"

Pansy smiled sheepishly.

"Oh! That reminds me," Adhara stopped and bent down to look through one of the shopping bags. "Should be in here somewhere," She mumbled, "Aha!" She held one of the secretive quills. "Can't forget this."

Pansy took the quill that was handed to her with a large smile on her face. "Promise you'll write." Said Pansy.

"Of course I will."

"Come on girls, it's time to go back," Daneille called.

"Morkipie," Adhara spoke simply.

"Pardon?" Pansy replied.

"Morkipie, that's my owl's name."

2:03 am, July 8th, 1991, 4 Daisy Lane, Birmingham

The trees blew furiously in the cold wind. The rain poured heavily, The sky was pitch black with many dark grey clouds, small stars scattered all over. If you were to ask Bellatrix, she could probably name most of which. Being part of the Noble and Most Ancient House of Black had many, many perks, One of which was knowing your constellations, stars and planets (Even before going to Hogwarts).

This house was much smaller than Lestrange Manor. It was evil that whoever took her daughter downgraded her to this level. Living with filthy muggles and Mudbloods.

Bellatrix grinned at the thought of what her mother, Druella Black, would say to that.

Your child? My grandchild? A CHILD THAT HAS ROSIER AND BLACK BLOOD RUNNING THROUGH HER VEINS?! I'll kill the bastard who is responsible for this CRIME!

Cygnus would probably be the same.

Bellatrix stood on the path in front of the two-story house shivering due to her sopping robes, she was hidden by an invisibility charm.

Bellatrix had followed the family's car that evening. It might have taken longer than expected but with the help of magic, it was easy. Plus it was worth it.

She pulled out her wand from the pocket of her cloak and walked up to the large oak door.

"Alohomora." Bellatrix whispered, pointing her wand to the lock, ''The door opened with ease.

Bellatrix walked inside and closed the door quietly. There was an eerie silence in the house, the only sound was the clock in the hallway ticking.

Bellatrix looked around, eyes narrowed. Muggles lived here, there might be some sort of device that could be used to steal her magic. After all, they did have a magically gifted son, who's to say they didn't steal magic for him, he didn't seem to be any of the others missing sons.

But alas, she was willing to take chances.

No doubt she'd never hear the end of this from Rodolphus, Bellatrix was beginning to doubt her decision on telling Orietta where she was going and to tell Rodolphus. It could go two ways with that man. Either he would voice his disappointment about not being able to come along, Adhara was his daughter too after all, or he would go on and on about how dangerous this act was for the longest time. Although to be quite honest, Bellatrix didn't care, not in the slightest.

"Silencio." She murmured. Wouldn't want the muggles and Mudblood to wake up now, would we? She thought bitterly.

Bellatrix ascended up the stairs quietly yet quickly.

Once she reached the top of the stairs she walked over to one of the six oak doors and opened it slightly, peeking to see if it was her precious Adharas bedroom.

Instead of her child, however, she saw the boy who she had been with at Diagon Alley sleeping on the large double bed peacefully. Bellatrix reached for her wand with a large evil grin spreading across her face.

Just one little crucio... just one- NO! You're getting sidetracked Bellatrix.

She moved onto the next door, also oak. Bellatrix opened this one like she did the last. This one proved to be a bathroom. She shook her head and walked over to the one beside that one.

She opened this one slightly also. Peeking in she saw strands of the sleeping child's chocolate locks surrounding her head on the pillow.

Bellatrix walked into the bedroom.

Her last one was so much bigger.

She sat down on the end of the bed and watched as her heir lay slumbering wrapped in the confines in red sheets, her tiny body curled into a fetal position.

Her mother reached down to caress her child's pale yet smooth cheek. "My darling Adhara, how I've missed you so," Came a voice only reserved for her precious child, Bellatrix hadn't used that voice in a long time. "Papa misses you to my sweet little heir."

She paused and brushed a strand of her daughter's hair away.

"Mumma wishes that we could have found you sooner, little love, it would have put our minds to ease," Bellatrix sighed. "However, I'm afraid I cannot take you back home yet my darling, forgive me." Adhara slumbered onward unbeknownst of what was going on around her.

Bellatrix reached down and began lightly scratching the girl's scalp like she used to do all those years ago, smiling sadly, yet her eyes regarded her offspring fondly at the same time.

Her child was a perfect little pureblood, Bellatrix grinned as she thought of the times when she would teach her heir all about their family ways, how she would tell her all about each of her family's history, the Blacks and Lestranges, she need not tell Adhara about the Rosier line, Druella would coddle Adhara and tell her herself, Bellatrix would tell Adhara later on how Druella had tried to rename the girl Adhara Anabel Black Lestrange, and how Rodolphus and his mother, Anabel, had protested and told that it would just be Lestrange. The latter of whom would surely try to coddle Adhara more than the child's other grandmother, Druella. Adhara was the only female heir of House Lestrange, but she wasn't the only one to the Black line, although definitely first, before her cousin Hermione. Druella Black had made it perfectly clear that if cousin Regulus were to fail in furthering the Black line, then it would be either Hermione or Adhara's duty, it didn't matter about the sex when the entire Black family future was on the line. Bellatrix knew that it would be Adhara that would be chosen, Walburga, Orion, Druella and Cygnus hated the Malfoys, the only reason they had allowed Narcissa to marry such a beast of a man is that he was the only decent man available. It was either Lucius Malfoy, Vincent Crabbe Sr, Gregory Goyle Sr or Kent Selwyn. Both Druella and Cygnus couldn't stand the thought that the heir of the Black family would be half Malfoy.

"That is not to say that I cannot bring you home any time soon, although it is unlikely, when our Lord returns it will be safe for me to rescue you from these pieces of filth, don't you worry, little love." Bellatrix cooed.

Bellatrix chuckled as she thought of how the entire wizarding world would react to seeing the infamous Bellatrix Lestrange, one of the deadliest women in Britain, scratch that, one of the deadliest women in Europe, cooing and coddling a child like a common nursemaid, let alone the child that many of them had thought she murdered.

The eldest witch was pulled from her thoughts by a loud hoot coming from the other side of the room. Bellatrix' eyes darted over to the source.

A large grey owl with a great powerful beak and large yellow eyes resided in the cage that was on top of a desk. A large piece of paper with bubble writing that looked like it had been made by a child stood against it, it read 'Morkipie'.

What an odd name, however, did her child come up with it?

Bella looked down at the sleeping girl yet again. Gods how she's grown. Bellatrix remembered when she and Rodolphus used to dispose of all the monsters under Adhara's bed. Did she still get those? And if she did, how did she get rid of them?

She froze when Adhara's breath hitched and she turned over, grabbing her pillow and bringing it to her chest so that she could cuddle it. Bellatrix waited a few moments just to make sure Adhara was really asleep before she started to rub the girls back.

It was then the first crash of thunder came in the night sky making the smallest Lestrange whimper.

"Do not fret my darling, tis only a bit of bad weather." She soothed, leaning down and giving her daughter's forehead a loving peck.

I wonder if those filthy muggles ever come in and soothe you during this time. She thought bitterly as she nosed her sleeping daughters waves and inhaled the scent. Bellatrix knew that she was being unfair about her previous thought, but she didn't care. This was her heir, her daughter, not theirs.

"I must go now, little love." Though I intend to watch you flourish to the best of my ability. It was then she looked back at the owl. Perfect.
