"Are you sure about this?" A tall, broad woman asked concern etched in their voice.

"If it can make things better then...yeah."

"Miss Sharper, I have to remind you if you go through with this surgery your eyesight won't miraculously heal, you'll still have the disease but it won't be as difficult to handle. There is no known cure for it." The Doctor said with a slight sad tone, shoulders slouching some.

"So, not so much better as easier then?" Kara questioned with a tilt to her head to look over at her doctor.

"Correct but as long as you continue with the suggested diet, exercise, and take your daily prescribed supplements you shouldn't have as many episodes." The Doctor sat down on their rolling stool and gave them a small smile, brushing their blonde hair out of their face. "If you do plan on going through with this then I can give you the number to a highly recommended surgeon in New York that you can set up an appointment with. It is costly but with the help of your insurance you should be able to cover it." The Doctor began writing the number down as well as a refill for her supplements and handed over to her guardian.

"New York..that's quite a ways from here.."

"If it'll make it easier to help you on the farm then I say it's worth it." Kara gave her Aunt a smile before putting her cap on her head. "Is that everything, Doc?" She climbed down from the interrogation chair while placing her sunglasses over her faded blue and purple eyes.

"Yes, when you return from your surgery give me a call and we can set up your check up appointment. Take care and goodluck." The Doctor smiled and gave them a small wave goodbye before leaving the room.

"I hope you're as hungry as I am." Kara smiled up at her Aunt before they left to pay and leave.

"Age Related Macular Degeneration." Her Aunt whispered to herself in thought while on the road.

"It's amazing how early on we were able to find out about it, huh? Guess it has to do with me working outside all the time." Kara shrugged while recalling the first time her vision became blurry which in turn made her feel dizzy and almost cause an accident. "Guess it's also a good thing you worry too much." She snickered remembering her Aunt's frantic reaction but blinked when she wasn't responding. "Aunt?" She asked softly noticing she was deep in thought with one hand on the wheel and the other resting against the window with their head leaned against it.

"I know I worry too much but surgery? There can be a lot of complications. I know we've been saving up for this scenario but.." She sighed softly and shook her head. "So, where do you wanna eat?" She looked at her for a moment, giving her her best smile before turning her attention back to the road.

"Wellll, if you're taking suggestions." Kara had a smirk on her face that was slowly growing, getting wider when she heard her Aunt say, "Crap." under her breath.

It took close to a month to not only schedule an appointment to visit the New York surgeon but to schedule a flight, hotel, and someone to look after the animals while they were gone. The day before departure Kara had snuck off from her Aunt's supervision while she discussed with the hired help how to tend to her animals and crops to visit some close people.

Towards the edge of their land were groups of trees where she would like to hide to be alone. Carrying two bouquets of flowers she walked through the opening immediately being welcomed by the cool air made from the shading of the clustered tree tops til she came across two gravestones that were kept clean.
"Hey mom. Hey dad." Kara smiled softly while placing a bouquet on each of the graves before sitting down in between them. "We're getting so close to having my surgery done. Our Doctor said it won't be cured all the way but I won't struggle with my eyesight so much. Heh, who knows, maybe I'll find someone cute in New York? Maybe I'll get to experience one of those rom-com city romances? Haha..You always did love the city, mom." Tears were starting to form in her eyes but she managed to crack a smile for the two. "I-I'm scared, to be honest. I'm trying to stay strong for Aunt but her worries are starting to get to me..what if there will be complications? What if something bad does happen to where I lose my vision permanently during the surgery? What if-" Her eyes were beginning to widen in panic, tears free falling down her cheeks.
A strong breeze suddenly passed through, a leaf managing to fly by and smack right in to her face. She blinked at this sudden action but started to laugh, wiping away the shed tears. "Right. Right. I should trust our Doctor, he hasn't let us down yet. When I come back you're gonna see a brand new Kara. I promise." She grinned at the tombstones. "I'll be leaving tomorrow morning so wish me luck. I love you, mom, dad." She stood up, wiping the dirt off her butt and went to walk away but stopped and looked at them one last time. "Sara says "Hello" as well." She smiled once more before leaving.

The morning of departure they waved bye to their home, animals, crops, and family before being taken to the airport.

Arriving in New York their amazement at the sights of the city couldn't compare to their jetlag. Wanting to see everything a tourist would but knew they had luggage that needed to be put away cause despite the beauty of this city; it was also dangerous.

The hotel was the opposite of what they had expected to be welcomed to by the online brochure.
No fancy, atmospheric lobby.
No welcoming smiles.
Just two keys and a cereal buffet in the small cubicle of a dining room.
Inside their temporary home were two full size beds, an questionably working A/C, an average size TV above a wide dresser, microwave beside it, a fridge, and a doorway that lead to the bathroom. The carpet itself was suspicious for it looked like it had not been cleaned in a large amount of time and the 'cutesy' designs made it look like eyes.

"New York. New York. It's a heck of a town~" Her Aunt sang sarcastically while dropping her luggage.
"Look on the bright side, we won't be here too long to notice the carpet staring at you for we will be exploring this fair city!" Kara threw her own luggage on the bed she will be occupying and turned tail outside the door, calling excitedly to her Aunt to follow after her which she obliged with a small smile.

The sights weren't like anything they had ever seen; it's almost as if they had stepped in to a movie. Crowds, lights, towering buildings. There wasn't a time they weren't taking pictures together.

At a stop light Kara saw a surprisingly large amount of green and yellow in her peripheral vision and turned her head to see a party wagon with the words "Cowabunga Carl" Written on the side in graffiti lettering. She raised a brow at this wondering what kind of entertainment they did. When the light turned green and they began to move she saw the driver take off an oversized turtle head to reveal a smaller turtle sized head. She gasped out loud and turned around to make sure her eyesight wasn't messing with her, removing her sunglasses in the process, but the taxi had already made it's turn.

The sun was setting when they made it back to their room, already carrying bags on bags of souvenirs and whatnot on their first day. Her Aunt was the first to collapse on the bed having been out and about the whole day plus a full stomach multiplied by jetlag, it was no wonder they had lasted this long.

"Welp, I'm gonna hit the showers." Kara stretched while removing her cap and sunglasses, grabbing her shower bag and walked out of sight. Her Aunt was already asleep.

After a long, well deserved, relaxing shower Kara plops onto her bed dressed in her nighties and pulls out her laptop to watch some of her favorite shows only to stare in confusion when her home screen seemed different. Her icons were moved out of their usual spot and her mouse icon was lagging behind in her movement. Thinking her eyesight was the cause she began to rub them but once she did she started to yawn, her body telling her it was time for bed. She let out a sigh and shut down her laptop to sleep, her mind giving her logical excuses as to why her laptop was the way it was while laying down and pulling the covers over herself.

Emma and Kara were in one of the patient rooms waiting for the doctor. Kara could hear ringing in her ears it was so quiet. That and her Aunt's fidgeting was making her nervous as the clock above her ticked loudly for every second of a minute.

When the door opened Kara let out a breath she had no idea she was holding, her shoulders sagging in relief. A woman of 5'9 entered wearing a long, white coat, a black v-neck sweater, black skirt that went to her knees and hugged her curves with matching high heels and panty-hoes. "Sharper, Kara?" The woman asked, Kara nodding to her question. "Oh, good, I'll be your doctor and surgeon during this operation. My name is Brilliance Rodriguez." She tilted her head, her auburn bangs falling over her eyes while she smiled before moving them behind her ear, the rest of her hair up in a bun.

"That's a pretty name." Kara blushed while looking away shyly when her doctor's icy blue eyes landed on hers.

Brilliance noticed her shy demeanor and let out a soft laugh. "Why, thank you, It's an uncommon name from what most people tell me." She sat down and crossed her right leg over her knee. "Your medical history should be faxed to my office within a day or so but from my understanding you have AMD, or just MD because you're so young. It's honestly a miracle it was discovered so soon." Brilliance looked from her guardian to Kara herself before scooting closer now noticing her different colored eyes. "That could be why." She muttered to herself in thought.

"My heterochromia?" Kara asked curiously.

"Yes, it's not uncommon for people with Heterochromia to have some issues with their eyesight though it is rare. Anyways, surgery is usually a last resort with the risks and with you being so young..why, if I may ask?"

Kara looked down at her feet in thought. "So I won't feel like a burden, I guess." She shrugged her shoulders while avoiding eye contact with her Aunt.

"Oh, Kara.." Emma began but was stopped by Dr. Rodriguez. "I will not pry into your personal business. Ok, once your papers come through and I look over everything we will set up a date for surgery. Is there anything else you'd like to ask about?"

Kara narrowed her eyes, starting to feel dizzy but kept it to herself. "No, that's everything."

Brilliance stared at her for a moment before holding out a pamphlet to her. "Here, if you do have questions when you leave."

Kara took it from her with a thanks before she and Emma walked out the office. While Emma went to pay for their visit her vision began to act up, the world becoming blurry around her which was only worsening her dizzy spell. She had to get back to the hotel, quick. To keep her Aunt from noticing anything and worrying her more than needed she took in a long breath while closing her eyes, counting to ten in her mind then slowly drew it out. When she opened her eyes after a few more seconds the world around her wasn't spinning anymore but now she had a headache.

"You ready?" Emma asked now beside her.

"Yeah, let's go." Kara placed her sunglasses on and left with her Aunt.

Now back in the hotel Kara immediately went to the restroom, sitting down on the toilet with her head in her lap. She could feel it. The anomaly in the back of her eyes that was causing her so much discomfort. She didn't know whether to scream, cry, or both, but decided to just sit in silence and wait for the feeling to pass as it always does.

A knock on the door was heard but she made no move to acknowledge it.

"Kara? I'm gonna grab some lunch for us, you doing ok?"

When no answer was made she sighed knowing she was having one of her episodes and there wasn't anything she could do; despite the urge to want to. "Ok, I'm leaving. I'll be back."

Footsteps faded.
The door opened and clicked shut.
Silence.

Seconds felt like an eternity til the discomfort calmed to where she could sit up straight, now walking to her bed and laid down. She didn't want silence right now. She needed a familiar sound and opened her laptop to watch a movie but when she turned her laptop on nothing happened.
Wait, what?
She plugged in the charger to make sure it wasn't dead but nothing new happened. She sat stumped at what to do now so she decided to turn on the TV but after a few minutes of searching through the channels unable to find anything she went back to her laptop. Deciding to turn it off and on again to see if that would help but nothing had changed. "Great, been in New York for one day and something already happens to my stuff." She grabbed her phone and began searching for someone to help her with her tech issues.

"Donnie: Your Friendly IT Tech Support? That's a specific..name for a company.." She shrugged figuring she had nothing to lose and pushed the call button while placing her headphones in her ear and connecting them to her phone.

"Hello, this is Donnie: Your Friendly IT Tech Support here to help you 24 hours a day. How may I help you?"

The tone of his voice made her giggle under her breath. "So it is true, huh?"

"Excuse me?" Donnie questioned.

"Your company is up 24/7, right? I hope it's not just you, unless everyone in the company is named Donnie?"

"Uh..what is it that I can help you with?"

Her cheeks grew warm in embarrassment at her rambling, clearing her throat, "Oh, right, my bad, I'm having issues logging into my laptop. I mean, I was able to log in to it last night but it seemed..different. The icons were in different places. I'm not sure if that means anything but..yeah, think this is something you're able to fix for me, Donnie?"

"Let me see here.." He muttered to himself while typing away at his computer. She waited patiently on her end but was curious to know if she needed to give him any of her information. Suddenly, out of nowhere, her homescreen came up and the mouse began to move on it's own with little windows popping up. "Woah! Is that you doing that?"

"Why, yes, and it turns out your laptop was indeed hacked but it seems they...were unable to get any of your personal information." Donnie explained as he began to do a clean up.

"Oh, yeah, I use my Aunt's computer to do all of my shopping and what not. She has the best virus protection, or so she says, heh."

"It looks as though your laptop doesn't have it's latest update on your virus protector." Donnie placed his hand over his eyes at the silence on the other end of the phone but he couldn't help but smile.

"Oh..yeah..I uh..meant to get to that. Other stuff has been on my mind lately.."

Noting the low tone of her voice Donnie figured it was time to change the subject. "Anyways, your laptop is hack free now. Would you like me to add a virus protector as well?"

"I'll just have my Aunt update the one we have, thank you."

"Not a problem, is there anything else you needed help with?"

"No, nothing at all." She said while making sure everything still worked. "But, if something comes up I'll know who to call."

Once they went through the payment and Donnie made sure it was confirmed he went to hang up. "Thank you for calling Donnie: Your Friendly IT Tech Support and you have a nice day." His finger hovered above the button to end the call when he heard her giggle again. "You too." She said just before hanging up. He had his other hand to his headset before taking it off all together and just leaning back with a sigh. At least this one wasn't so simple minded like his...other customers.

Kara stared at her laptop screen a small smile on her face as she lowered her phone. She found his voice not only cute but relaxing to listen to. She suddenly threw her hands to her face and fell backwards. "Unless everyone's name is Donnie? Why would I say that? UGH!"

Emma entered the hotel with their bag of food to see her niece thrashing her upper body from side to side. "What did I miss?" She asked in clear confusion.

Several days had passed when she gained the courage to call Donnie's tech support again while her Aunt went to get groceries; which due to their kitchen being nothing but a microwave and a fridge it wouldn't be a long trip. She gently bit her lip when the phone rang to connect the call. Each second she grew more nervous wondering why it was taking so long and just when she was about to hang up she hears his introduction that she feels he has said too many times and knew by heart, which by the sound of his voice he wished he hadn't. This made her giggle. When it got quiet she cleared her throat.
"Um, heh, hi, this is Kara...I realize I never did say my name..Anyways, I called a few days ago about my computer being hacked and you helped me but I am unable to get a protector for my laptop. Was hoping you could help me."
Whether it was his excellent memory or-no, it must be his memory for he knew exactly who had called him and recollecting a certain part of a conversation; he had no idea what possessed him, a small grin appeared on his lips. "Oh, I'm sorry, you must be thinking of Donnie. My name is Donatello. Give me just a moment and I'll connect you to him, ok?"
"Oh! Uh, sure?" She blinked at her phone and rubbed her ear thinking something was wrong cause he sounded exactly like Donnie. It wasn't til she could hear snickering on the other side that made her crack a smile. "Wait a minute." The line was silent til both of them began to laugh, Kara to the point of tears.
After calming down, Donnie could still hear her laugh and the sound of it made him blush. Once she had calmed down he cleared his throat but his smile was still visible. "I can definitely help you. Is your laptop on?"
"Hold on, give me a moment."
Donnie could hear her shuffling around on her side til she gave him a confirmation that it was on. He nodded to himself and began immediate work.
"How do you do that?" She asked in awe watching him take over her laptop.
"Do what?" He asked as if what he was doing was normal.
"Well, I have to assume that you're controlling the mouse on my laptop." Her eyes watched the mouse cursor move around different pop up windows like a cat targeting a laser pointer before shaking her head to snap out of it. "I don't remember giving permission to do this, and I'm still asking the question as to how you're doing all of this." She internally cursed herself when her mind trailed right back to the beginning.
"Oh, it's quite simple really-" He began to explain the mechanics to his computer hacking, though he used a nicer term to not worry her. Mid sentence he noticed she had gone quiet. Curiosity getting the better of him he turned the camera on her laptop and blinked in surprise at what he was seeing. Normally he would be dealing with older customers, especially the elderly, but to have someone around his age and was actually having a conversation with him and be nice? It was definitely a rare sight. Her black hair was out of her face and he was able to see her different colored eyes. "Wow.."
"Uh..Donnie? I know I may not understand all that you're saying but you suddenly stopped talking."
"Oh, uh, sorry, anyways, in lamen's terms; I've just studied a lot and got good at techy stuff." He quickly took a screenshot of her and turned the camera off before he could get caught.
"So, how close are you to getting that protector?" She leaned back, getting comfortable, for some reason she found his voice quite soothing and when he was explaining to her his job she was actually beginning to relax despite her confusion. She bit her lip before taking a deep breath. "Hey, Donnie?" Her voice was soft.
"I'm just about do.." His fingers slowed to a stop when he noted the gentleness in her voice. "What is it?" He asked, his tone matching hers without him noticing.
"I'm not originally from New York and I'm only here for some major surgery though I'm not sure how long it'll be, or if I'll even get it, but.." She clenched her shirt sleeve. "Do you mind if I call to..talk? I don't have many friends, to be honest." She chuckled lightly, almost nervously. "All I have is my Aunt and I love her dearly but..it would be nice to have someone else to talk to. I..I hope this isn't too weird."
Donnie was silent in awe; this being a new feeling to him. The only people he knew aside from his family were April O'Neil and Casey Jones; the only humans that were willing to be his friend but now? Someone who he's only talk to for not even a day wants to be his friend? He opened his mouth to speak but his headset began to beep, notifying him of another call. The sound startled him and he instinctively placed his hand over it, accidentally pushing the button and ending their call.

Kara's eyes slowly widened when she heard the phone click and then the dial tone. She lowered her hand to her lap, her phone sliding out of her fingers and she stared at her laptop. When the mouse cursor didn't move she sat there in silence for what seemed like hours.
Not even a minute later her Aunt walked through the door, her hands full of grocery bags, and closed the door with her foot. She looked over at Kara and froze when she saw her crying silently, staring ahead frozen, and immediately dropped the bags, running to her side and threw her arms around her. She tried to get her attention to ask what's wrong but Kara never responded; tears falling down her face.

"No, wait!" Donnie shouted only to get interrupted by his next customer.
"Wait? Wait for what? I haven't even told you what I'm having trouble with! Are you going to help me or do I need to take my money elsewhere?"
Donnie placed his hand over his eyes, rubbing at them and sighed. "Thank you for holding how can I help you?" He internally swore while the customer gave him attitude, which is something that he was use to. He wanted to call Kara right back but sadly, he and Michelangelo were the only ones working and they needed the money. He had to find a way to make it up to her. He took a deep breath before saying his introduction, his voice lacking emotion.

Kara was back at Brilliance's office sitting in the patient's chair her eyes never leaving the floor while they waited for her doctor to come in.

"Will you please tell me what's wrong? It's been almost a week and truthfully, you're starting to scare me."

Kara lifted her head up slightly, her eyebrows lifting in sadness, til she sighed and leaned back while opening her mouth to speak til Brilliance entered all smiles and cheery which made Emma want to strangle her for her timing.

"Hello again, Kara. We've got your medical history and it seems you are healthy enough to have the surgery. Congratulations." Brilliance smiled happily, giving a small clap but noticed the atmosphere in the room was kinda tense. She raised a brow, her eyes going back and forth between her patient and their guardian before she sat down. "If you two are worried about complications there shouldn't be any. Despite this disease you are perfectly healthy, Kara. Yes, it will still be there but it won't burden you and you want to know why?" When Kara's head made the slightest movement to look her way her smile widened, "Because you won't let it. I've spoken with your doctor and they love you because you keep your head high and keep moving forward. Now, these certificates, diplomas, and your doctor's recommendation is not something I take lightly; I'm the best because I worked for it and I promise you when you're on that operating table and I'm in that room I will do anything to make sure the surgery is successful. Trust in me." She placed her hand over Kara's and smiled bright with a fiery determination in her eyes.

Kara stared down at her hand, a blush coming to her cheeks, and she slowly lifted her head to have her full attention on her and stared in awe. "You..make it hard to argue with that." Kara chuckled, her smile staying on her lips which made Brilliance giddy. "Excellent! We will set your date for surgery in a month. Now, I've been informed that you do tend to have some 'episodes' so we're going to move you from your hotel and into our personal rooms. I must warn you though, this hospital does have other patients who are recovering from surgery or are...special cases so most of the time you will have to stay in your room but other than that it's a lovely place and I'm sure you'll enjoy it. We will call you when a room is ready and you can let us know when to pick you up." Brilliance smiled before standing up, offering her hand to Kara to help her down only for her smile to widen when Kara got down herself.

After leaving the doctor's office Kara seemed more like herself. A sigh escaped her lips and she looked up at her Aunt. "Let's go do something." She grinned up at her which made Emma's shoulders relax. "Ok, what do you have in mind?"
Kara tilted her head in thought. "Well, I've never seen an actual broadway show. Wanna give that a try?"
"Yeah, I don't see why not." Emma placed her arm around Kara's shoulder and made their way back to the hotel first to find a show and time before leaving.

After the show, the two walked out of the theater laughing to each other and sharing what they just saw, both unaware that it was now nighttime. Emma chuckled now starting to calm down from her laugh attack while bringing her arm around Kara and pulling her to her side. "I'm so glad you thought of this." Kara nodded in agreement but blinked, just now noticing it had gotten dark. "Um..Aunt?" Emma lifted her head, stopping mid-step, her hand instinctively having a firm grip on Kara's shoulder. "Don't worry, I got you." She pulled out her phone and clicked her tongue when her phone wasn't loading fast enough. "Come on, we'll stay at the entrance to this alley while my phone loads the way back to the hotel. She gently pulled her into a shadowed alley but kept her word staying at the mouth of the alley where people could see them.

Kara kept her head down, staying by her Aunt's side but blinked when she felt a hand grab her arm and pull her into the darkness of the alley. When she tried to call out to Emma her mouth was covered by a hand. Her eyes widened when she felt her back hit something that definitely wasn't a wall.
"Well. Well. What do we have here?" A male voice whispered in her ear and feeling the arm that grabbed her arm snake around her waist. "Looks like we've got ourselves a lost kitten, boys. Why don't we show her around the city? I'm sure she'd be more than happy to reward us for our civil politeness." He grinned at her getting his face inches from hers to the point their cheeks were pressed against each other.

"I say we treat ourselves to the reward first, boss." Lackey one lit a trash fire as his hungry eyes scanned Kara causing him to giggle and grin; the rest of the group of four adding their greedy chuckles.

"How about no." A fist flew out and punched the one that just spoke, knocking him hard to the ground. Emma stepped up while stomping her foot down on the one she just knocked down and causing him to shout in pain. "Let her go or things WILL get ugly." Emma glared at the men before her, her shoulders tensed and squared.

"Oh, you want to watch, eh?" The leader pulled out a switchblade and brought it to Kara's cheek, the blade ghosting over the skin of her other cheek. "She is a beauty; I wouldn't want to scratch it up cause of your-"

The leader didn't have time to finish for Emma had literally kicked the lackey at him. Cursing out loud he moved to dodge but in the process he unintentionally cut Kara's cheek deep enough to cause it to bleed. While he was distracted Emma immediately reached out and pulled Kara to her. "Come on, let's go!" She gripped her hand tight and turned to flee but blinked when she was sucker punched on the back of her head and pulled back in to the alley. When Kara moved to grab her she shook her head. "No, just go! We'll find each other, I promise!" Emma elbowed the one that sucker punched her and turned around to face them unaware that the leader had slipped past her and was chasing after Kara.

Kara was mumbling sorries to the crowd when she bumped into or shoving herself between people. She happened to glance behind her and gasped when she saw the leader staring her down while calmly weaving through the crowd; one of the perks of living in the city. She turned her attention back in front of her til she froze, her eyes widening when she felt the anomaly again; her eyesight fading to the point all she could see was large, black spots. She lifted her head, trying to remember her surroundings and went left into another alley.

She placed her hands on the wall trying to feel for somewhere she could hide while internally yelling at herself for the timing of her eyesight.
"Here, kitten. I know you're in here.~" The leader cooed which made Kara tense up and immediately drop down and hide behind a pile of trashcans she had felt, trying to make herself as small as possible. Tears were stinging her eyes as not only her imagination going haywire at the possible outcomes that were to happen to her but the added pressure on the disease in her eyes. When she felt her hand being yanked away from her head she let out a scream and tried to fight back while screaming for help only to freeze when she felt the warm blade against her neck, some of her blood still on it.

"Don't be shy, kitten, I promise I'll make you feel good." He shoved her down causing her to hit her head a little too hard on the ground and could already feel the blood. She let out another scream when she felt him get on top of her and grab at her shirt.

First, she heard the sound of a chain then a grunt above her before suddenly, she felt light. She soon began to hear the sound of two people struggling and curled into the fetal position, holding her head, and squeezed her eyes shut til after a minute or two it got quiet.

"Hey, you ok?" A male voice with a Brooklyn accent asked above her.
She slowly uncurled, her eyes darting in every direction but unable to see anything. "I-I don't know." When she sat up she instinctively put her hand where her head hurt and blinked when she felt something wet.
"Can you stand?" The man asked, watching her.
With very shaky movements she found herself able to do so which made her crack a smile only for it to leave when she heard the sounds of heavy boots walking away. "Wait, please, you have to help me! I can't..." She went to reach forward but once the adrenaline from her early attack had left her body she began to feel dizzy til she suddenly felt like she was floating and then darkness.

It had been almost a week since Donnie had accidentally hung up on his customer, Kara, and truthfully he was beginning to forget about her..until-

"Yo, Don! I need some help!"

Donnie hunched his upper body and let out a groan mid coffee pour. He closed his eyes while setting the coffee pot down before walking out the kitchen with his steaming hot cup of joe. "Alright, Raph, what is it this time? Did your video game crash aga-" He froze mid sentence to see Raph with an unconscious and bloody person in his arms and not just any person, "Kara." he whispered dropping his coffee mug in shock.

"Earth to Don; she needs help." Raph narrowed his eyes, fidgeting anxiously with a slight hint of impatience.

"Oh! Right. Right. Follow me." Donnie urged him to his lab where Raph set her down on the table. He was too busy quickly washing his hands and getting his medical supplies ready while explaining to him how to stop the bleeding to even question his unusual getup. Putting surgical gloves on he walked to the table.
"I found this in her wound." Raph held up a piece of loose gravel about the size of a decorative stone noticing one end was more sharp.
"That must be what caused the bleeding but what happened?" Donnie took the gravel from him, setting it aside in a bowl and began to clean the wound.
"I uh was just going for a walk and saw her fall. No biggie."
Donnie turned his head to look at his brother with a raised brow but when he said nothing just shook his head and went back to work.

After about an hour of working Donnie fell into his seat with an exhausted sigh. He pulled his gloves off and began to rub the back of his neck glancing at Kara's now sleeping form with tired eyes having wrapped her eyes along with the head wound to keep her from seeing anything once she woke up. He stared at her with worried eyes. "What happened to you.." He asked softly knowing he wasn't going to get a straight answer from his brother. In fact, he stood up to chew his ear off for even considering bringing a human to their lair but before he could get close his younger brother, Michelangelo, announced his presence by dragging his body through the door and groaning like a zombie.
"Rough day?" Donnie asked while watching him slowly make his way across the room.

Donnie wasn't given a verbal response but one of him dropping onto the couch only to miss and fall to the floor instead, letting out another groan and mumbling about birthday parties. Donnie bent down and gave his head a small pat only to freeze when Mikey suddenly sat up causing him to stumble onto his butt. "Why do I smell blood?"

"I'd like to know that as well, Donatello."

Donatello cringed hearing the soft tap of a wooden stick hitting the ground and the patter of bare footsteps before a 4'11 light brown, fuzzy rat came into view wearing a red robe. "Master Splinter.."
