Only you

Kara woke up the next morning, to find Barry staring right into her eyes again. Those deep eyes of his that mesmerized her so.

"Morning, Kara." Barry said, running a hand across her cheek.

"Morning Barr." Kara said, stretching just a little bit before snuggling into Barry again. "How is it you wake up before me everytime?"

"Cause you're a sleepyhead?" Barry jokingly asked, feigning curiosity.

"Shut up!" Kara lightly hit him, before leaning in and kissing him. She held onto his shoulder, pulling him in, as Barry caressed her cheek tenderly, with another hand on her waist.

They broke apart all too soon, when Kara ears suddenly picked up something.

"There's a robbery. I'm so sorry-" Kara began.

"Hey, it's okay." Barry stopped her. "I, of all people should get it. Go." He smiled at her.

Kara felt lighter, as she quickly kissed him one more time before getting off the bed, when suddenly he felt something. A spark flew between their hands as they brushed together, as Kara sped into her suit and flew off out the window.

Barry hadn't felt a spark like that for years, since Iris, when he was only just becoming the Flash… could it be?

As Barry was lost in thought, Kara flew in with several bags in her hand. "Hey Barr." She snapped him out of his thoughts. "Breakfast." She said, brandishing the bags, wearing a bright smile on her face.

Barry brushed his thoughts aside as he gazed upon the beautiful superhero, holding up potstickers with the brightest grin out of anyone else. He quickly got off the bed and cleaned up a bit, before stopping in front of her. "Can't wait." He grinned back at her.

Kara changed into some regular clothes, then followed Barry to the table. She set the boxes down, and saw Barry gesture her towards a chair he'd pulled out. "Miss."

Kara giggled as she took the seat, and Barry super sped into the chair beside her. "Shall we eat, Girl of Steel?"

"We shall, Scarlet Speedster." Kara said, smiling brightly at Barry, who was also grinning. They enjoyed their potstickers, and they did so slowly, without super speed.

.

.

Kara flew into the DEO after stopping a few other crimes. Barry was in Winn's workshop, working on getting the time machine up and running. He enjoyed Winn's company. He was a downright nerd, very much like Cisco and himself, yet different enough to not be a clone. They worked together nicely.

Except this time it seemed.

"Okay we might need some help." Winn said, sighing.

"Yeah, maybe we could use some. You know what? I'm gonna get a friend of mine from my Earth. Is that alright here?" Barry asked, suddenly looking around for permission.

"Do it." J'onn told Barry from his post.

"Alright. Kara, wanna join?" He asked, looking at Kara, who was a lot little surprised, but nodded nevertheless.

"Sure Barr." She said, before quickly putting on some regular clothes as she was still in her suit.

Barry began running in circles for a couple seconds before a breach opened up, and the two heroes went through.

"That's so cool." Winn chirped from his seat.

Barry and Kara came out beside CC Jitters. Barry looked at it and sighed. "Let's get to STAR labs." He said, and Kara nodded, but not before adding, "Could have just used my extrapolator." With a smirk, to which Barry shrugged, having forgotten about the gadget Cisco had given her before.

The cortex was the same as Barry walked in with Kara. Cisco was working on the computers, while Caitlin was working on something in the medbay.

"Hey Cisco." Barry called out. Cisco whirled his chair around towards his friend.

"Barry!" he nearly yelled, getting out of his chair with his signature grin, giving the speedster a hug. "And if it isn't my favorite Kryptonian. That's right, I have a favorite Kryptonian."

"Good choice, man." Barry smiled.

"Get over here, Barry." Caitlin came out of the medbay, hands already spreading out to give him a hug, which he gladly returned. She then turned to Kara, offering her a hug as well. "Hey Kara."

"Hey Caitlin." Kara said as the two broke apart.

"How are things around here?" Barry asked.

"Quiet, man. Nothing me and Wally and Caitlin can't handle." Cisco said coolly.

"How's Frost?" Barry asked.

"She says Hella good, Barr." Caitlin relayed for Frost, who was happy to see Barry as well.

"Alright hey listen, I could use your help with something back on Kara's Earth." Barry told Cisco.

"What is it, man?" Cisco asked.

"We're building a time machine." Kara said, shrugging.

"Oh buddy! Well it's always fun, building one of those. The last one, I'd built for the man that really did a number on us all." Cisco said, half laughing. Caitlin gave him a little slap on the head. "Ow!"

"Well shall we?" Barry asked.

"Yeah let's-" Cisco was interrupted by Iris and Wally walking into the cortex. Barry stiffened up a bit.

"Barry!" Wally broke into a grin, and came in for a hug. Barry accepted it happily. Despite his problems with Iris, Wally never held anything against him, and still looked up to him as a mentor and brother.

"Hello Barry. Kara." Iris said, a little stiff herself. "You're back?"

"No, just came here to get Cisco. I need his help with something." Barry said, in a rather straightforward manner. The others could feel the tension.

"Must be really urgent for you to just come, take him and go without any word." Iris said.

"It kind of is. It's best for this thing to be done as soon as possible." Barry said.

Kara looked at the both of them and decided she needed to end this deadlock. "Hey Barr, I'm sorry, but could we hurry? I'll need to get back to work too." She quickly said.

"Yeah sure. Cisco?" Barry said, looking at Cisco expectantly now.

"Ready to go." Cisco said, having put on his goggles and shooting his fist out to open a breach. "Hold down the fort, Caitlin?"

"Go, you guys." Caitlin said, waving her hand dismissively.

Cisco and Barry nodded at Caitlin, and Barry shot a lingering glance at Iris, before the three went through the breach.

They came out exactly where they'd left, in the DEO.

"Cisco! My man!" Winn came from his chair, gesturing towards Cisco for a hug.

"What's up, bro?" Cisco asked as he hugged his fellow nerd.

"Oh nothing much, just building a time machine." Winn said nonchalantly.

"Cool. I heard you needed help." Cisco said, narrowing his eyes.

"Yeah, sort of." Winn said.

"Guys. Come on." Barry finally said, ushering towards the lab. He was going to enter too, when he saw Kara looking towards the ground, deep in thought, and not the good kind from her looks, he reasoned.

"Kara?" he called out, going to her. "What's wrong?"

"Nothing, Barr." She said, quickly putting on a smile.

"You sure?" he said. "You didn't look like nothing was wrong a second ago."

"It's nothing too big, it can wait. I'll tell you when we get home, okay?" Kara said, this time smiling genuinely.

"Okay." He said, before kissing her on the forehead, eliciting a small giggle from Kara.

Barry entered the lab to see Cisco already covering up some of the problems. The man was a genius alright, just too dorky at times. Not that he disliked that, on the contrary.

"Hey Barr. Feel free to drop in, anytime." Winn spoke from his place.

.

.

After a few hours of work, it looked like the three had worked out all the bugs in their plans. The only thing left was to build the thing. Barry decided they'd do that the next day.

Barry walked out of the lab. Kara had just come in from work at CatCo, and went to him.

"I'm hungry, wanna grab something, Barry?" Kara asked.

"Yeah, me too. Let's go. Cisco, you can breach yourself over, can't you?" Barry asked Cisco.

"Of course I can. Go chow down, bud." He yelled from the lab.

"Alright. Come on, Kara." He said to Kara and the two sped off.

After several pizzas and some ice cream, Barry and Kara were heading back home. They walked hand in hand, content smiles on their faces, looking at each other every now and then. Barry, however, was reminded of Kara thinking about something, and she'd said she'd tell him later.

"Hey Kara?" he called softly. Kara hummed in answer, as she was leaning into him as they walked side by side. "What did you want to tell me later?"

Kara sighed. "I felt… when you met Iris again, I think she still has some feelings for you, and you for her too. I'm not insinuating anything bad about you, Barry, I promise. But… what if-"

"Kara." Barry stopped her. "I don't feel for her anymore. She's the one who-"

This time Barry was interrupted, but not by Kara, but by a swirling blue portal opening near them. A breach. Cisco jumped out, panicked.

"Guys I need your help. There's this killer robot thing that is really strong and it's taken Wally and Iris hostage, along with several other civilians." He said, panting.

"Let's go man." Barry said.

"I'm coming too." Kara said.

"Thanks." Cisco said as they jumped through the portal, landing back inside the cortex of STAR labs.

"Good you guys are here. Here's the situation, more or less." Caitlin said from her seat at the main console. "Some time ago, Ivo technologies had a contract with ARGUS about making a metahuman deterrent. So they used a nano-adaptive hybrid of the Mirakuru serum, to make this robot that can scan and mimic nearly any metahuman's powers. It's named the Anti Metahuman Adaptive Zootomic Organism, or Amazo. A few hours ago, it was stolen, and we don't know by who."

"It's been kidnapping people. We met shortly, and it instantly copied mine, Caitlin's and Wally's powers. Then it took Wally and Iris away. Now Wally has a tracker on him. But we're not nearly strong enough to get it." Cisco finished.

"You said it copies meta-powers. Right?" Barry asked. Caitlin and Cisco nodded, and Barry smirked. "So an alien should be perfect for this." He gestured towards Kara, who was smiling herself.

She cracked her knuckles. "Where are they Cisco?"

"Abandoned warehouse again, gee I didn't expect that." Cisco said.

"You have to be careful. Amazo has an experimental hydrogen fission cell in it as its power core. Destroying it without care could potentially cause a fairly big explosion." Caitlin said.

"Got it. Shall we, Girl of Steel?" Barry smirked.

"We shall, Scarlet Speedster." Kara returned the smirk.

Then they sped off, blowing wind into the faces of their tech support.

.

.

A couple seconds later, Barry and Kara were at the warehouse.

"Okay if this Amazo can't copy my abilities, I'll be the one going at it. I'll keep it occupied while you get all the hostages out safely, okay?" Kara told Barry.

"Okay, but be careful. This thing has several meta powers." Barry said.

"You be careful too." Kara said, her face softening. She reached for his hand, giving it a small squeeze. Barry returned her smile with one of his own, and then the two entered the warehouse.

They didn't have to look around much. Amazo wasn't hiding. It was right there in the open, as if waiting patiently for others to come. The hostages, including Iris and Wally were in a small room at the back. From what Kara could see, Wally's leg was broken in two places. Amazo knew how to neutralize him. She'd have to watch for such attacks.

"I'm gonna come around. You engage Amazo." Barry said, before running back out. He then ran around the building and phased through the walls of the room with the hostages. "Hello people. Stay quiet. I'll get you out." He started phasing people out of the room. It didn't look like Amazo had noticed them yet, as he was busy fighting Kara.

Kara wasn't wasting any time. She threw punch after punch at Amazo. It dodged most, thanks to his speed from Wally, mainly phasing, but it didn't help much. Amazo couldn't deal any actual damage, since Wally's speed wasn't enough for a full blown battle with a Kryptonian. Amazo tried using Frost's cryogenic powers, but they didn't affect Kara at all. Kara broke off the bits of ice on her, before winding up. "My turn." She said as she unleashed her freeze breath on Amazo. This slowed it down, at least to the point where it couldn't phase. She then started throwing more punches, Amazo could no longer phase through her fists and was taking hits before being knocked back by a wide haymaker from the Girl of Steel.

"Kara, Barry's almost finished with the hostages. You can unload a bit more." Cisco's voice came through her earpiece.

"Got it." She said, and flew towards the robot.

Barry was almost done with his job, only a few more and Iris and Wally left.

"How's the leg?" he asked in his vibrating voice.

"Broken badly." Wally replied, gritting his teeth.

"Well I'll get you back home and you can get some rest. Come on." Barry said as he carried Wally through the wall, along with Iris. It felt strange, touching her, which he had to do to phase someone other than himself through the wall. He didn't feel nervous, like before. He didn't feel anything about her like before, other than of course the care that he should feel towards a good friend.

"Thank you, Flash." Iris said, smiling a little brighter than she usually does.

"Supergirl." Barry called through his comms, remembering there were people in front of him now. "All the hostages are out. Destroy that robot."

"Got it." Kara's reply came as she let out her heat vision, now scorching the outer armor of the robot. It quickly started phasing, but as it did, Kara blew freeze breath towards it, making it slow down again, she then winded up a punch, flew at it at full speed, drove the punch into it's chest with all her might, and it went straight through. She could feel something inside that radiated heat, so she guessed that it could be the power core, and pulled it out. Amazo blinked for a second, before falling to the ground, lifeless.

"Guys. I think I got the power core out of Amazo. It's dead now. Well, robot-dead." Kara said.

"Is it getting hot?" Caitlin asked.

"Um, yes?" Kara answered nervously. She could feel the heat rising, to the point where even she was starting to actually feel it on her skin.

"Kara it's going unstable, you have to throw it high so there isn't a lot of radiation!" Cisco yelled through comms. Kara wasted no time. She flew straight up, breaking through the ceiling, and threw it into the sky, grunting as she did. The hydrogen fuel cell flew into the sky, slowly disappearing from regular view. Suddenly there was a huge explosion, but not very damaging from the air.

"Explosion is at the edge of the Troposphere. It's safe, Kara. You did it." Caitlin said, her smile evident from her voice.

"We did it, Caitlin." Kara corrected. "How are the people, Barry?"

"Police are here, taking care of everyone. I'm taking Wally and Iris back to STAR labs." Barry's voice came through comms.

"Alright. I'm on my way back." Kara said, flying off towards STAR.

.

.

"Well that's another one down!" Cisco yelled as Kara entered the cortex. Barry just came in, now in regular clothes. Caitlin was looking over Wally's leg in the medbay, Iris beside him.

"Hey. You okay?" Barry asked, coming up to Kara, putting his hands on her shoulders.

"Yeah. Nothing to worry about, Barr." Kara replied, tilting her head a little, putting one hand on his own over her shoulder.

The two stood there for a couple seconds until Caitlin's voice came from the medbay.

"Well Wally's leg is almost healed. You should be able to walk by tomorrow, and run day after tomorrow. Don't rush it though, or you might make it worse, okay?"

"Alright Caitlin." Wally said, now on his feet with crutches, Iris next to him.

"Well, we should get back. It's late." Barry now said to everyone.

"You're not staying?" Iris asked from beside Wally.

"No. If you need me, you know how to reach me, right Cisco?" he said, turning to his best friend.

"These hands, right here, brother." Cisco said, a little exaggeratedly, eliciting a chuckle from Caitlin.

"Barry-" Iris began, but was interrupted by Wally.

"We've got Central covered, Barry. You've protected this city for a long time. Leave it to us for a while and get some time off. You deserve it." Wally said with a smile.

"We've got this." Caitlin came up to Barry, putting hand on his shoulder, before leaning in to whisper, "Go be with your girl. Of steel." She winked as she straightened up. Barry let out a small chuckle, before looking at Cisco and receiving the same wink from him as well.

"Thanks guys. Hey Kara, let's go." Barry turned towards Kara. Kara looked awkward, but took out her extrapolator nevertheless and opened up a breach. "See you guys." Barry waved, and the others waved back, except Iris. Barry noticed, of course, but he didn't mind. He stretched a hand towards Kara. Kara took it, and followed Barry into the breach, landing back into her apartment back on her Earth.

"Well that's that." Kara began, quickly walking ahead towards the door. "Man I'm hungry-" Kara began, the awkwardness more and more evident in her voice, but was interrupted.

"Kara, if you wanna say something, go ahead. I can see it on your face, you know." Barry said with a small smirk.

"Of course you can." Kara said, her face becoming serious.

"Is this about Iris?" Barry asked, remembering their conversation before being called by Cisco to fight Amazo.

Kara slowly nodded. "I'm sorry, I'm probably being difficult right now. But…" Kara trailed off.

"Kara" Barry began, taking hold of her shoulders gently and facing her, looking straight into her eyes, "I get how you feel. I get what you're worried about. But I love you. Only you. I know we haven't been together for very long. Barely a few days, maybe. But I can feel that what we have is different. I no longer have any feelings for Iris, and I doubt she has any real feelings for me. And even if she did, you have nothing to worry about. You're the one for me."

Kara blushed at Barry's words. The One for him? It was a little overwhelming, but she wouldn't have it any other way. "I love you too." She replied, then threw her hands around Barry's neck, pulling him into a kiss. Barry slipped his hands around her waist as they continued kissing for a few minutes, before breaking apart.

"Now I don't know about you, but I'm starving." Barry said to Kara.

"Oh me too. And we can't have that." Kara said, a mock serious expression on her face.

"Potstickers?" Barry asked, and Kara furiously nodded. "Well let's go then." And with that, they sped off out the window towards their prized food.

/-\\\

Well there you have it. I hope y'all liked what I did with Amazo. It never made sense to me how it copied Kara and Clark's powers when they were alien, with alien DNA, very different from what it was supposed to be able to scan. So I fixed that here.

Did you feel the spark between Barry and Kara? Don't answer that one. But I'm sure you guys can see what I'm getting at, especially after The Flash's 3rd episode of Season 7, Mother.

As always, let me know if you liked this chapter in the reviews and I will see you soon. Peace!
