Gabriel and Adrien are sitting across from each other and Gabriel can barely look Adrien in the eye. He feels bad knowing the truth and knows he might lose Adrien with this. Nathalie has her arm behind him and rubs circles on his back. Adrien doesn't know what to think, originally he thought they might be announcing their relationship but he can't even remember a time he has seen his father this stressed.

"Adrien, there is something really important I need to tell you," Gabriel starts, "I was Hawkmoth."

"You- you were Hawkmoth?"

Gabriel gives a small nod and can't even look at his son, scared to see expression.

"You knew, didn't you? You knew and you still lied to me, to her?" Adrien's voice is raised as he speaks to Nathalie.

"Yes, Adrien, when he gave me his miraculous, I knew. Before that day, I had no clue."

"How could you not tell us? We trusted you!"

"Because I love him, because I made a promise not to, and when I saw who you were, I knew I couldn't be the one to tell you."

"I- I-" Adrien can't find the words and so he just leaves.

"I'm sorry," Nathalie says though she thinks she should be apologizing to Adrien but knows Gabriel needs the comfort right now, even if he would never admit to it.

"No, he shouldn't have spoken to you that way."

"He has every right to be angry, I did lie to him," Nathalie says.

Gabriel wraps his arms around her and they sit like that for a long time. Nathalie practically on Gabriel's lap and her head buried in his chest. They don't know if they lost their son but they hope they didn't.

"I just can't believe she lied to me!" Chat groans to Marinette.

"She loved him, can you blame him? It's our fault too, we told her to go for it. We encouraged it and told her to make him a good person. Maybe we made her a worse person in the process but they aren't bad people. They didn't even have to tell you the truth but they still chose to," Marinette tries to rationalize their decisions.

"I know, she's just been like my mom and I didn't expect any of this."

Marinette tells Chat to hold on for a moment. She goes inside her room and Chat is left alone to think. He would have to forgive Nathalie at some point and his father too, ask him why. He felt bad for not hearing them out fully but he could still make it up to him, he was certain.

"Maybe you should give him this?" Marinette suggests, holding out the butterfly miraculous.

"You can't be serious? This is incredibly dangerous, he knows who I am and Nathalie knows who you are. He could akumatize one of us and she could create a horrible sentimonster and-"

"Do you really think they would do that?"

Chat pauses, "no, there just isn't a way to be sure."

"I trust them, show that we trust them. He could be on our side for once."

Chat takes the miraculous from Marinette, he would rather have his father on his side.

"Thanks, purrincess," Chat says and kisses Marinette's cheek before leaving.

"I'm sorry for what I said earlier, Nathalie," Adrien says once he has them both seated again.

"It's alright Adrien, you had a right to be angry with me."

"That doesn't make it okay. I didn't hear either of you out and it was unfair. I'm sorry father."

"You have already been forgiven, Adrien."

"May I ask why you did this father?"

"I was going to wish your mom back to us. I thought we would be happier if she was alive, just like before."

Nathalie flinches, no matter how many times she hears it, it still hurts her. A reminder that he didn't love her until recently, a reminder that she may never even be the sole woman in his heart. Part of her still worries that they would be happier with Emilie, that she is just some substitute because Emilie isn't coming back. She knows holidays and birthdays used to be joyous times and now Gabriel hardly speaks to his son. Nathalie hopes she can change that, bring back some of the light that once made the mansion one of the brightest places in the world.

"Ladybug and I decided you can have it back," Adrien says, handing his father the miraculous he had given up.

"No, I don't deserve it," he insists.

"We would love to have you on our side," Nathalie tells him, hoping Adrien still considers her a part of their team.

"We have forgiven and trust you, so Hawkmoth, are you on the good side?"

Gabriel's hand shakes a bit as he picks up his miraculous, "I am."

It's the four of them this Tuesday on the ice. The three original heroes and a reformed villain and maybe it isn't so bad. Mayura had always loved ice skating, she learned she needed to be graceful in life but also flexible, willing to change and adapt. Her thoughts are quickly disrupted as Hawkmoth grabs her from behind and attempts to lift her. They, once again, fall on the ice. It doesn't bother her and she smiles at her partner who is trying so hard for her, for his son. She would always love the ice, she would always love him, she would never regret falling on the ice.
