Today was a Monday which meant it was the start of another week of school that Marco, Nova, and Star had to be present for. The three friends were walking through the open school courtyard as Star continuously tosses her wand up and down.

"I like red, I like hoodies. So I bought a dozen of them," Marco said, answering Nova's previously asked question of why he was always wearing a red hoodie.

"Hey, it's those magic girls!" Justin, a tall, blonde, and blue eyed cute guy shouted as he and a large group of students passed by Star, Nova, and Marco, saying hello to Star and Nova.

"Hi, new friends! Hi!" Star shouted and waved back. Nova smiled and waved back to a few as well, not as enthusiastically as Star but still polite. "Everyone's so cool here, Marco. It makes me wish my parents had tossed us out of the castle years ago," Star told Marco.

"Oh, you haven't even met the coolest guys," Marco said, pointing out two random guys standing next to some lockers out to Star and Nova.

"Alfonzo and Ferguson," Marco said, pointing to which of the two boys he meant. The short pudgy one was Ferguson and the skinny geek was Alfonzo.

"Quick, here she comes!" Alfonzo said as a blonde girl with her hair in a ponytail walked past the two boys.

Ferguson lifts up his shirt to reveal a face drawn on his stomach. The girl pauses and looks repulsed. Ferguson moves his stomach to make it look like it's talking.

"Hey, hey. Are those books? Where are you going with those books? Do you like to read—"

*SLAP*

*SLAP*

Ferguson didn't get to finish what he was saying because the girl slaps his face and then his stomach's face, and walks away in a huff.

Marco suddenly looked like he was regretting his life choices. "They're usually cooler." Nova didn't believe him.

"I need to fix Ferguson up," Star declared in cool resolution.

Marco looked at Star with a deadpan expression on his face before simply stating, "No."

Nova suddenly hears rolling wheels and looks off to the left. Jackie Lynn Thomas does a kickflip on her skateboard and rolls through the halls. Star and Marco had both turned their heads in the direction Nova was staring off to, to see what, or who, Nova was looking at.

Marco immediately gasps and has hearts in his eyes once he realizes who he was staring at...

"Jackie Lynn Thomas!"

Jackie skates past Nova, Star, and Marco . "Hey, Nova!" Jackie shouted as she passed by waving at Nova.

"Sup, Jackie! See you later," Nova called out.

Star suddenly gasps. Her eyes lit up in a way Nova did not like. "I need to fix you up," Star yelled as she shook Marco out of his lovestruck state.

"What?!" Marco shouted, shocked and distrustful.

"Oh, come on. I'm almost as good at matchmaking as I am with magic," Star bragged, tossing her wand in between her hands when she accidentally blasts Marco's face with magic. The blast left him with a burnt face and frizzy hair with a bald spot. One strand of hair is on fire.

"I'm good," Marco groaned, a bit of smoke escaping his mouth.

Nova cringed a little at Marco's new look. "Don't worry Marco I can fix this." Nova had the palm of her right hand straight up, like she was pressing against a window. Circling her hand three times counter clockwise, Nova said her spell.

"I summon you magic in my time when minutes are few, heed my request, make Marco look good as new."

Marco is then restored to his everyday pristine appearance. Marco felt his face and hair for a couple of seconds before letting out a sigh of relief.

"Thanks Nova," Marco said, grateful.

"No prob' Marco,"Nova told him waving off his thanks. "Now come on Star we need to head to class." Nova grabbed Star's hand and the two of them raced to be on time for their first class of the day.

The day flew by pretty fast, Nova and Star were in their last class of the day, Miss Skullnick's math class. Star sat in the middle of the front row while Nova sat directly behind her with Jackie sitting on her left and her other friend, Janna, on her right.

"So what are you gonna do about this whole ex wanting to get back together?" Jackie asked Nova who had asked for her and Janna's advice. Nova ran her hands through her hair as she replied. "I don't know. On the one hand he did have anger issues–" "But like didn't you say he just graduated from anger management or whatever?" Janna butted in.

"Yes!" Nova exclaimed, but quickly shrunk back in her seat when Miss Skullnick turned to glare in her direction. "That's why I'm having so much trouble figuring out what to do."

"Well what if you–" before Jackie could finish what she was going to suggest Star abruptly interrupted her.

"Look-look-look-look-look! It's my name! It's my name! With a star inside a butterfly and two hearts. And a spider," Star shouted enthusiastically trying to get Nova's attention to show off what she drew on her desk.

Nova doesn't get a chance to say anything when Miss Skullnick comes up and slams a graded test paper on Star's desk, and she looks monstrously annoyed. She then starts handing out graded sheets to the rest of the class. Her permanent scowl was ever present on her face.

"As you can see, class, most of you have done a pathetic job," Miss Skullnick said as she went around the room.

"Not me! I got an 'F' for 'fantastic'!" Star cheered as she flaunted off her completed test.

"Uhm, hate to break it to you but if you got an 'F' that means you failed." Janna told Star. "Huh?" Star questioned looking crushed as she glanced down at her test paper.

"Do you guys, like, not have tests on Mewni or something?"Jackie asked.

Nova thought for a moment before responding. "Not really it's more like oral quizzes and physical presentations."

"Uh...So what grade did you girls get?" Star asked.

"Eh... I got another 'D',"Janna said, shrugging her shoulders as she slumped further into her chair.

"She gave me a 'B-plus'." Jackie told the group when she looked down at her grade. The three then turned to Nova to see what she got.

"I made an 'A-minus'," Nova stated. She picked up her paper and showed them, curious as to what it meant.

"Wow. Way to go Nova, that is like the best grade Miss Skullnick gives," Jackie said, giving Nova a hi-five.

"Ooh...I want the best one too!" Star said standing up as she went to go walk up to Miss Skullnick.

"Wait, don't!" Nova tries to warn her but it falls on deaf ears as Star chooses to ignore her.

Miss Skullnick was writing something on the chalkboard. When Star stood behind her and called out in a sing-song tone, "Oh, Miss Skullnick!" This irritates Miss Skullnick so much that she crushes the chalk in her hand and turns to look at Star with a growl.

"Hey, Skullzy! Can you please do me a teeny favor and turn my 'F' into an 'A?" Star asked as she held up her test paper.

"You're whining about a lousy grade? I finally got a guy with a boat, and he left me at the dock!" Miss Skullnick screamed in Star's face.

"The dock?" Star repeated, sounding confused.

"The dock isn't the important part!" Miss Skullnick yelled. As if it was Star's fault for bringing it up.

Star has a thoughtful look as she nibbles on the bell of her wand.

"I guess I'm doomed to dry land," Miss Skullnick sighed, depressed.

"I got it! I'll cast a spell to get you the perfect guy, and you can give me the perfect grade," Star said, as if her 'solution' would be perfect for both of them.

"What?!" Miss Skullnick screamed, as she hadn't given her consent for Star to do anything to her.

"Oh no," Nova said to herself as she knew nothing she did would stop Star.

Star's wand started to charge up for a spell, "Man Magnet…"

"Wait!" Miss Skullnick screamed, frantically waving her arms in front of herself.

"...Love Storm!" Star yelled, blasting Miss Skullnick with magic.

In a burst of light it was soon revealed that Star's spell transformed Miss Skullnick into a hideous green-skinned troll.

Everyone in class gasped upon seeing their teacher's transformation.

"Hmm I think she actually looks better this way," Nova said, "Star what did you do?"

"I-I think I turned her into a troll," Star said embarrassed.

"Star Butterfly rules!" Justin shouts, jumping up from his seat.

The rest of the class starts cheering as Miss Skullnick finally looks down at her new form. Not liking what she saw.

"Ahhhhhhhh! I'm hideous!" Miss Skullnick screamed as she panicked.

"Star you have to change her back right now!" Nova said sternly.

"Oh, okay, yeah, right!" Star agreed as she gave a nervous laugh and pointed her wand at Miss Skullnick, "Okay, yeah... Lightning Change Back!"

Miss Skullnick screams again when she sees that Star is going to use magic on her again. Only instead of returning Miss Skullnick to normal it encompasses Miss Skullnick, Star, and Nova and makes them vanish into thin air.

Star, Nova, and Miss Skullnick magically reappear in Star's section of her and Nova's shared bedroom within the Diaz Household. Miss Skullnick immediately began to scream once more and ran around the room like a crazy looking freaked out.

"Huh. Where are we?" Star asked Nova, slightly dazed.

"Pretty sure you just teleported us back to the house," Nova said.

"Ohhhh...I wish I knew how I did that. It could really come in handy if I don't feel like using my legs," Star joked trying to make light of their situation.

"You said "Lighting Change Back", but I'm not sure what motions you used," Nova answers.

Miss Skullnick reappears and screams louder than before in the girls' faces interrupting their conversation.

After refusing to call down so that they could think of a solution the girls had no choice but to tie Miss Skullnick to a chair. Her uncontrollable sobbing causes the room to begin to flood.

"We've gotta do something about this and fast," Nova states. The water level is already rising to knee height.

"Please don't cry, Miss Skullnick," Star pleaded. But it changed nothing.

"Star, you can't keep stalling. You're gonna have to call your mom. She'll most likely have a spell to reverse the transformation," Nova said as she bailed bucket after bucket of water out the balcony window.

Star immediately gasps. "No! I can't ask for help! If my parents find out about this, they're gonna send me to…" Star's face gains a look of absolute terror as we both know what she was going to say next.

"...St. Olga's Reform School for Wayward Princesses! It's a terrible, horrible place, and no one who goes there ever comes out the same! AHHHHHHH!" Star screams.

After a few seconds, Star stops.

"Is it all out yet?" Nova gently asked as she rubbed Star's back.

"Almost. AHHHHHHHHHHHH! Okay, I'm done," Star said.

"Look, Star, maybe there's a way for you to get the information without letting her know what's going on. All you have to do is be crafty," Nova suggests.

"I'm great at crafts!" Star exclaimed.

Star moves over to a curtain and pulls on a rope which parts the curtain to reveal her interdimensional mirror.

"Mirror, mirror on the wall... Call Mom," Star dialed.

"Calling Tom," The mirror said.

"W-W-W-W-W-" Star said waving her arms in front of her.

"Star!" Tom said as his face appeared on the mirror's surface.

"No. No," Star flatly repeated pointing at the mirror.

"W-Wait! You're here, I'm here—" Tom started to say.

"I said 'call Mom', not Tom," Star said she reached for the end call button on the mirror causing the male demon teen yell out.

"No! Star!" Tom protested, but then yelled in his demonic voice, "DON'T HANG UP!"

Star presses the button on the mirror, and Tom's image vanishes.

"Why do you still have Tom's number on your mirror? I thought you two broke up months ago," Nova questioned her adopted sister.

"We did, I just never gotta 'round to deleting him off my mirror," Star explained with an embarrassed look on her face. Star quickly dialed for her mother again (correctly this time).

Queen Moon's face appears on the mirror's surface. "Oh, Star, darling, what a pleasant surprise!" Queen Moon answered, when she saw her daughter calling her.

Star awkwardly began to evasively explain to her mom about what she had done, while also trying to find out how to fix it. "So, Mom... let's just say that someone accidentally turned someone into a troll with the wand. Not that I would do that, no, because that would be completely irresponsible—" Star was interrupted by a loud crash and Queen Moon saw Nova running towards the commotion in the background.

"Star, what is going on?!" Queen Moon immediately demanded.

Star.

"Gotta go, bye!" Star shouted as she quickly closed the curtains over the mirror, a panicked expression on her face. "What happened?!"

"She jumped out the window!" Nova yelled. Standing next to the large hole in the wall that Miss Skullnick had created when she had tried jumping out what had once been a small window. Now all the water that had been filling up in the room was rapidly draining out. Not wasting any time both girls jumped out the hole and ran after Miss Skullnick.

Miss Skullnick, still tied to a chair, runs across the house yard. Both Nova and Star tackle her to the ground in a dogpile fashion.

Star: Wow, good job, Nova," Star said.

'"Wow, good job, Nova."' A familiar voice mockingly said.

Star and Nova look up to see Ludo and his monsters.

Star gasped in shock as she sat up. "Ludo! What are you doing here?" She questioned accusingly.

"Catching you at your most distracted!" The kappa exclaimed.

"What? I have been way more distracted than this," Star said.

"Yeah, it's true," Nova agreed. "I wouldn't even say this even counts as being distracted for Star."

"I don't know. You seem...pretty distracted," Ludo said hesitate.

"Nah, not really," Star disagreed.

"Oh, well...What's that over there?!" Ludo trailed off before he yelled, pointing randomly behind the girls.

"What?! Where?!" Star shouted as she looked to see what Ludo was pointing at. Nova was facepalming beside her.

"Get her!" Ludo commanded his thugs.

The monsters all roar at the two girls as Nova and Star scream.

Nova and Star run away. The monsters chase after them, trampling over Miss Skullnick in the process. Ludo climbs up his giraffe minion's neck and jumps onto the back of a flying bat creature. As the monsters approach Star and Nova.

Star jumps into the air, "Dagger Crystal Heart Attack!" Star cats as she fires a volley of hearts from her wand. "Feel the love!"

The monsters fly backward with crystal dagger shaped hearts stuck in their bodies. Nova faces down Bearicorn, Big Chicken, and Three-eyed Potato Baby.

"You know, I feel obligated to warn you…" Nova said as a thick stalk of bamboo sprouted up out of the ground in record time on the right side of her. Nova snapped it off at its base then broke it in half over her knee as she then imbued the two pieces with magic to be unbreakable. "...I'm not not in the mood today."

The monsters fake being scared, but then just laugh at her. Nova uses her newly made escrima sticks to battle the monsters.

"Grrrr!" Nova growls as she smacks Bearicorn across the head and elbows him in the gut then sweeps Three-eyed Potato Baby's legs out from under him before she judo flips him onto his back. Big Chicken tries to attack Nova from behind only to be roundhouse kicked by Nova and double struck by her escrima sticks. Leaving him down for the count as well.

As Nova goes to help Star with the other monsters she hears something behind her. Looking back she sees a tall bluish gray minotaur like monster sneering down at her as he pops his knuckles.

Over with Star, Buff Frog throws a punch at her but she dodges and bites Buff Frog's arm.

"AHHHHHH!"

The crocodile minion snaps its jaws at Star, only to miss, but is then able to smack her with his tail which sends Star flying. As Star flies backward, she spins around and strikes a three-eyed minion with her wand, making a large bump on his head.

Back with Nova the monster had attempted to put her in a headlock after snatching her escrima sticks away from her only to start running away screaming when she stole his sword and began chasing him with it.

"Rainbow Blast!"

Star blasts the monster with a rainbow beam, which incidentally saved him from Nova's wrath. But the blast had also sent him flying directly into Miss Skullnick knocking them both down.

"Ohhh…"

"Uhhh…"

The monster and Miss Skullnick were looking at each other with hearts in their eyes.

"Narwhal Blast! Narwhal Blast!" Star shouted as she rapid blasted narwhals at every other monster.

Since Star was taking care of the majority of the monsters Nova looked around to see if Miss Skullnick was still nearby and saw the love-struck looks the monster and Miss Skullnick were giving each other, "Awww…" Nova sighed as she saw the pair. "Narwhal Blast!" Star yells as she blasts away Deer Beard who was going to blindside Nova to tackle her.

"Nova what are you doing?! You were almost clobbered by a monster!" Star shouted as she questioned Nova while simultaneously blasting back monsters.

"Star look, maybe there's still a way for you to get your 'A'." Nova said as she directed Star's gaze to the two lovey-dovey monsters.

"Bleh!" Star gags at the sight. But understands what Nova meant.

Minotaur-Man incoherent babbled something else before chuckling and running back off to rejoin the fighting. Miss Skullnick's eyes trailing after him lovestruck.

Nova starts fighting the giraffe minion, Buff Frog, and Three-eyed Potato Baby.

"Hey, Nova, you can handle this for a minute on your own, right?" Star asked.

"Oh, yeah. No problem," Nova said.

"Cool, thanks!" Star said, running off towards their troll teacher.

"Wait…" Nova mumbled as she realized that she didn't hear any more fighting. Slowly turning around Nova sees Ludo and all of his monsters standing right behind her menacingly.

"Ahhhhhhh!" Nova screams as she starts running from the monsters.

The monsters chase Nova around the yard but then she spots her escrima sticks on the ground nearby. Performing a handspring Nova is able to grab her weapon(s) turn gracefully in the air and stick the landing now facing the oncoming herd of monsters. Acting fast, Nova is capable of knocking out a conjoinican monster. The rest stop and look at the girl who now has a wild look in her gold eyes.

"I told you I wasn't in the mood for this today,"Nova growled, "YAAHHHH!"

All of the monsters scream as an annoyed Nova jumps into the throng of the monsters and starts to lay waste to them.

While that was going on Miss Skullnick was trying to escape by climbing over the fence. Keyword 'trying'.

"Oh, Miss Skullnick!" Star said just like she had in the classroom earlier.

"What?" Miss Skullnick said as she gave up on the plan to climb the fence to freedom.

"See that monster over there?" Star said, pointing out to the minotaur guy who was running in fear of Nova just like the rest of the monsters."He thinks you're cute."

"Really? Ooh! What should I do?" Miss Skullnick said excitedly, but also a little nervous.

"Wait right here," Star said, running off again.

"Raspberry Ribbon Lasso!"

Star used her spell to rope the bull-guy to her. Once again saving him from Nova's wrath.

"Hey there, monster guy. See that troll over there?" Star said, pointing over at Miss Skullnick.

He says something excitedly but to everyone there it just came out as babbled nonsense. He then runs up to Miss Skullnick as Star watches disturbed. But then looked behind her and noticed Nova was chasing monsters around with two magically enforced bamboo sticks.

"Get back here! You wanted a fight so I'm giving you a fight!" Nova shouts at them.

"Get away from her! Get away from her!" Ludo screams in terror at the front of the pack.

"Hey, guys! I think you forgot something,"Star said holding up her wand. The yellow Star crystal glowing. Everyone stops running and turns to look at Star. Nova had the common sense to head to shelter as Star pointed her wand at the group of monsters.

"Huh?" The monsters all seemed to grunt in confusion.

"Get the wand!" Ludo shouted at his monsters.

The monsters run up to Star.

"Thermonuclear Butterfly Blast!"

Ludo, and all his monsters scream in terror.

"Not again!" Ludo yells scared.

A loud explosion covers the yard in rainbow light and butterflies. Star looks around surprised, surrounded by unconscious monsters and small fires, as Ludo groans in pain before falling out of a tree.

"Whoa-ho-ho-ho-ho-ho-ho!" Star said, stunned by the power of her own spell.

Nova walks over to Star, escrima sticks in hand and a few butterflies in her hair.

"You okay there Nova?" Star asked.

"A little shaky but I'm fine," Nova said as she shooed the butterflies away.

Ludo gets up and goes over to an unconscious Beard Deer and starts shaking him.

"Get up! Get up!" Ludo yelled.

"Told you I wasn't distract—Wait, did I just kill that guy?" Star asked, sounding worried.

"No, he's not dead. He's probably just bleeding internally and being a total baby about it!" Ludo screamed as he kicked the monster in the head, "Stupid wuss…" He pulls out some scissors and opens a dimensional portal. "Get up, you dipsticks!"

Ludo's monsters all stand up, groaning in pain and covered in bruises, and shuffle toward the portal. One by one they all head back to Mewni.

"Ooh, you're so muscly…" Miss Skullnick said as she squeezed one of the bull guy's biceps.

Nova and Star her Miss Skullnick talking and look over to see her draped over the minotaur man.

"Ooh!" Nova gushed at the cute couple the two made together.

"Bleh!" Star gagged again, but still went up to Miss Skullnick. "So... now that I hooked you up, how about that A?"

"Honey, please! I'd give you an A-plus if I was still a teacher. I'm setting sail with Captain Triceps here. Hehe," Miss Skullnick said before she giggled and clutched onto her new beau tighter. 'Captain Triceps' just rapidly babbled incoherently in an excited way, ending by making boat horn sounds.

"Did she just giggle? I don't think I've ever seen Miss Skullnick do that before," Nova whispered to Star from the side of her mouth.

"Yeah me either," she responded. But then shook her head to snap herself out of that shock. "What about my A?!" Star cried.

"Try studying," Miss Skullnick shot back as she and her new love walked through the portal.

Star looked devastated as Nova walked over to her and laid a hand on her shoulder, "Don't worry Star you can just join me the next time I'm studying and I'll help you."

"Thanks Nova," Star said, giving Nova a crushing 'Star' hug.

The next day Nova and Star were back in class but Miss Skullnick was totally absent the whole day.

"So anyway, long story short, Skullnick ran off with this weird man-bull guy thing to another dimension, and now she is gone forever," Star said when everyone started badgering us about what happened after we disappeared yesterday.

The entire class was silent for a second as they looked over at Miss Skullnick empty desk.

The teens all begin to crowd around Star, Nova moved off to the side to stand next to her friends Jackie and Janna.

"Wow, Star, that is so rad, girl!" Jackie said, giving Star a hi-five.

Star just smiled and cheered, "Thanks!"

Star smiles over at Nova, when there's a bright light and a dimensional portal opens up over Miss Skullnick's desk, and a screaming Miss Skullnick falls through, smashing the desk into pieces. After which the portal then closes.

The whole class gasps seeing the return of their least favorite teacher.

"Oh no," Nova said, smacking her forehead. But looked over at her reinstated teacher. "Miss Skullnick? You okay?" Nova asked in concern for her well-being.

"He dumped me. I think. I don't know. I couldn't understand a word he was saying!" Miss Skullnick screamed frustrated.

"Welcome back, Skullzers," Star said, like what was going on was no big thing. Miss Skullnick suddenly turned around to face the rest of us her face showed that she was enraged

"Get ready for the worst pop quiz of your lives!" Miss Skullnick shouted, spit flying out of her mouth.

Everyone started groaning as they all returned to their seats. Jackie and Janna look at Star disappointed before walking away to take their spots next to Nova.

Justin kicks Star's desk away from his, and Star sits down in her seat sad.

"Oh Nova I guess I'm not as good at match-making as I am with magic," Star said, disappointed that even though they were a hideous couple and both monsters, Miss Skullnick still got dumped and she never got her 'A'.

Nova lays her hand on Star's shoulder and gives her a small smile, "It's okay Star, I know you tried your best."

"Ha, then I guess I better just stick to magic!" Star said waving around her wand, which was a bad idea. As Star accidentally blasts Justin's desk with magic, which turns his desk into a pig that immediately starts squealing and running wild around the classroom.

"Oh Star," Nova sighed, shaking her head as if to say what am I going to do with you.
