"It's been a while now."
It really is been awhile I came here. I was standing in front of my parent's and sister's graves.
"Yeah. If you guys wondered how I am doing. I'm... fine. Everything's good ever since I moved on from you guys. The grades are still up. Uncle Jason and aunt Mary are still around and they are fine too I guess. So yeah, Everything's good."
...
"Well, not everything is good I guess. A few months ago, I got into an accident. Some guy just trying to stab me with a knife. I heard the police caught the guy. I'm alive now because someone saved me. That time I thought I was going to die, but a girl came. She saved my life. I was thankful for that. Then, I blackout. Next thing I know, I was in a hospital. After I got up, I... I saw these... lines everywhere. Literally everywhere. The floor, the wall, the hospital bed, and even on me. I also noticed that my surroundings turned a bit red because of all the lines. I wondered what those lines are. I traced one of the lines, and I also noticed the points which I touch. Suddenly, the hospital bed was destroyed, and turned into pieces. I got scared, so I ran from the hospital."
...
"Yeah, I know. I panicked. What was I supposed to do? After I got out of the hospital, I reached a garden I guess? I still panicked because these lines are everywhere and I don't know how to get rid of them. Then, a woman came. She was nice, has bright red hair, and- NO! No. You are not a perv. Anyway, She asked me what's wrong, and I told her about it. She seems to be surprised about what I said. So, she started to explain what I saw. Apparently these lines are what's called 'death lines' and the points are 'points of death'. They're basically lines and points that can caused the death of anything 'alive', including non-living things, like the door or the floor. She also told me that I can see those lines because I have what's called a 'mystic eyes of death perception'. She told that these eyes are the cause of me seeing those lines and points. She also told me that these eyes are extremely rare to find, since they represent death. I asked her how to make me not see them anymore. She said that I should focus and try to regain my vision. I tried but, it didn't work. She then gave me a pair of glasses, that she has with her. She said it will help me with my vision so I won't go crazy. Guess what? It worked! I can see again. I can't never thank her enough. She also told me to keep this a secret, because people might went after me to take it for themselves."
...
"I hope I can meet her again someday. She really has changed my life for the better."
It was about to rain today. I pulled my umbrella out.
"Anyway, mom, dad, sis. I came to tell you that I'm heading out with my uncle and my aunt to Vale. They said I need to be ready, if I want to become a huntsman. So, goodbye I guess. See you in a few years, I guess."

Five years later.
A boy with glasses was seen in the night of a city. Nobody really knew who he was. They only see him as a normal teenager. Nothing special. He was walking down the city, until he spotted something he doesn't see everyday. It was a red hooded girl that seems to have taken out some thugs and are now fighting the boss. They were in front of a dust store. The boss said something to Red as he raised his cane towards her. A crosshair can be seen to popped out of the bottom. Seeing this, Mark ran towards the boss, knife in hand and glasses off. He sliced the lines of death that he sees. As soon as he did that, the cane was destroyed in to little pieces.
"T-thanks." Red thanked Mark as she was surprised at the sudden arrival.
"Your welcome." Mark said.
"My cane!" The boss exclaimed. "Do you know how much Lien it took for me to build that?!"
"No." Mark said. "But since you are a criminal, destroying your weapon kind of the only way to put innocent lives away from death."
"Tch!" The boss then threw something to the ground which made a smoke screen. As the smoke cleared out, the boss was gone. Mark and Red turned to find him, and spotted him climbing up the ladder.
"You don't mind, if I go after him right?" Red asked the shopkeeper as he nodded as a reply. Red made her way to the roof as Mark just followed her. Which startled her with how fast he moves. "Woah?! How did you get here so fast?!" Red asked.
"Ask questions later. Criminal now." Mark said.
"Oh right, sorry." Red said.
"Persistent." The boss said. When they thought they cornered him, a bullhead appeared. The boss quickly got in. "End of the line!" He shouted. A blonde haired woman with green eyes appeared.
(TIMESKIP (AN : Sorry had to skip it. I don't do well in descriptive fight in canon, but I can manage if it's non-canon. So, I had to skipped it.))
To make it simple, Mark just watch Red and the woman fight against the mysterious woman in the bullhead. He can't really do much because he just wields a knife. After the bullhead manage to escaped, the roof is the three of them.
"You're a huntress..." Red said in an awed expression. "Can I have your autograph?!" She said in fan-girl mode.
"No, you are coming with me." The woman said. She turned to look at Mark. "You too."

Mark is now in a room with a one sided mirror. He's still waiting for someone to talk to him. His knife still with him. He can easily break out of this room. He just doesn't want to, because that's a bad thing to do in a police station. After a few minutes of wait, the door opened. It revealed the woman from earlier, now known as Glynda, and a middle age man with silver hair and a cane. The man sat in front of him.
"Mark Xander." The man said. "Are you attending Beacon?"
"Yeah..?" Mark said a bit weirded of how he knew his name and future academy.
"I'm Professor Ozpin, the headmaster of the school." Ozpin said. " I wanted to asked you a question before we can let you go."
"Ok, sure." Mark said.
"Thank you. Now," Ozpin said as Glynda showed Mark the footage of him destroying ,the now identified, Roman Torchwick's cane. "How did you do this?" Ozpin asked.
"... Semblance." Mark answered.
"I sense hesitation in you." Ozpin.
"Well... It's dangerous."
"How dangerous?"
"If use it recklessly, I can manage to kill people instantly." Mark said. "And someone told me to not show this to anyone, because people might want to steal it for their own benefit."
Ozpin stayed calm, while Glynda seemed a little worried about this. Ozpin then said something that shocked Mark and confused Glynda.
"It won't happen to be 'the mystic eyes of death perception', isn't it?"
Mark froze when he said that name. He looked to the eyes of the man with a shocked expression. Glynda seemed to be confused about this.
"... How did you know?" Mark said as he
"Legends said that those who have the 'eyes of death perception' was given to them when they almost died or was simply born with it. They stated to have been blessed by death itself to become a walking grim reaper with the capabilities of killing living and non-living things that have the concept of 'death' on them." Ozpin explained. "But they were all extinct hundreds of years ago due to unknown reasons." He said as Glynda wore a shocked expression and then shake it off.
"Sir, with all due respect, there's no possible way that this boy is the literal grim reaper." Glynda said.
"Believe it or not, it's true. The footage and the remaining of the cane was checked later and found it was cut and destroyed in specific lines." Ozpin said. He turned to Mark. "Am I right? The 'death' lines."
"... Yeah." Mark said. "Sir, please can you keep this a secret from everyone? I've been trying to avoid people finding it out."
"I assure you, Mark. That no one will know this. Especially James." Ozpin muttered the last part, but Mark heard it.
"Who-" Mark said.
"Anyway, I think that's all." Ozpin stood up. "Thank you for your time, Mr. Xander." He exits the room with Glynda following behind. Mark just stood there alone in the room.
"Great, just my luck."
