Arthur woke up with a groan. His head was pounding and for a moment he couldn't remember what had happened.

"You alright there?" The voice was lighter more human-like but Arthur couldn't figure out if it was high or low.

Blue eyes met blue. The demon's had a cheeky grin on his face and he just watched Arthur.

"Yeah, my head is just killing me. How long was I out?" Arthur noted that the curtains in his room were closed and he wondered why.

"Not too long, about thirty minutes. I must say it is a surprise that you didn't sleep through the night." Merlin's was almost sing-song it. "Your headache will disappear in the day."

Arthur's eyes stayed on the bed he didn't look up for a while, just giving the pain a chance to go away.

It wasn't too long before the curiosity got the better of Merlin. "Why did you summon a demon for a friend?" Merlin sat down on the bed next to Arthur.

"Because life is bloody lonely. Father just want the perfect little son, never go up against him. When we try and reason with him, he just reminds a person well I am king, my word is the law. And I truly get that.

"But bloody hell. He can't just continue to go out and kill people with magic and then wonder why on earth do sorcerers want to kill him and me. Like maybe if you stop going after them, they might stop going after you.

"It is just lonely in the castle." Arthur's face redden slightly when he realised he said more than he had said in a long time.

Merlin gave Arthur a slight smile. A slight pat against the shoulder and Arthur relaxed slightly as he looked at Merlin.

"So what do people usually summon you for?" There was a hint of curiosity in Arthur's voice.

Merlin was silent for a second before he pulled something out of his pocket. He handed Arthur a honey cake and kept one for himself.

He could easily see the curiosity burning in Arthur's eyes, but he kept himself from springing up a thousand questions. Arthur was pretty sure he would have a chance to learn a lot more.

"Well, a lot of people hope I would bring them instant riches, let me tell you it doesn't work that way. You still need to work for your money it would just be slightly easier to make money.

"And let's not get started on jealous women who are mad, that someone is making eyes at their man, while they are cheating on them. It is just like what does it matter, but no let's kill them that would be fun." Merlin trailed slightly off as he thought of a few different tales.

"Let me guess, it is more the Nobility women who do it?" Arthur sounded tired but he had seen quite a few cases that were bought in front of Uther because the woman had just suddenly decided that her husband had to go.

"Yeah pretty much." Merlin chocked his head to the side slightly as he watched Arthur eating the honey cake.

The scent of his soul was absolutely appetising and he couldn't wait to devour his meal.

But for now, he would stay and enjoy the calm of the human world who knows it might even be fun.
