"Well morning everyone." Mirror said as the group arrived. "Sleep well?"
"Like an angel." Mahiru said.
"Good. Now...you should know that I asked for some more help around the lab." Mirror said. "Ah...here he is now."
Walking into the place was a young man with a camera. "Hey, professor. Been awhile." he said.
"Ah...Todd. There you are." Mirror said.
"That's Todd Snap alright." Mari said.
"Uh...is she all right?" Todd asked.
"She's fine. Just a random fangirl." Baohzai said.
"Anyway...we're going to be expanding our study." Mirror said as on the holographic map showed a larger island to the north of Florio. "This is Belusylva Island. It's a lot larger than Florio with a lot more wild plant life and perhaps even more Pokémon than on Florio."
"Whoa...it looks like mostly a jungle and forest." Ginseng said.
"There's bound to be lots of Pokémon to take pictures of there, I'll bet." Hope said.
"There sure will. We'll be focusing on this area here." Mirror said, pointing to a specific spot. "The Founja Jungle. I'm positive that this area holds connections to the Illumina Effect. If we do enough research here, I can pinpoint the area where the Illumina Pokémon might reside in the jungle."
"Alright, I'll head out right away." Mahiru siad.
"If you're heading into a jungle area, you're gonna need a riding buddy who knows a thing or two about that sort of environment." Gemini said.
"I'll go." Ginseng said.
"Alright then Ginseng, let's saddle up." Mahiru smiled.
"Perfect. Let's go on a botanical expedition!" Ginseng said.
The two of them climbed into the NEO-ONE and teleported off to the Founja Jungle.
"Wow, this is incredible!" Ginseng said as Honey had a surprised look.
"Yeah…" Mahiru said, noticing a few Bounsweet flying through the air along with a number of Beautifly.
"Butterfly and Berry Pokémon?" Ginseng asked, pulling out her magnifying glass. "I don't think I've seen those types of Pokémon before."
"Don't Sectonia and David both have Beautifly? I would've thought you'd seen either one of theirs in battle by now." Mahiru said.
"Well, I'm not entirely sure if either of them used Beautifly in a battle that I've seen them participate in." Ginseng said.
"Oh well...oh...look!" Mahiru said as one Beautifly approached a sleeping Venusaur as it extended its proboscis into Venusaur's flower. "Whoa...it's drinking its pollen!" she said snapping a photo.
"That's incredible." Ginseng said. "It's like a hummingbird when it drinks nectar."
"I guess it could seem like that, in a way." Mahiru said.
"And continuing...whoa…" Ginseng said as they saw an Aipom approach some tall grass as it cut it with its tail. As several butterfly like creatures with a strange mosaic pattern on their wings flew out.
"Wow...it cut the grass and sent the Vivillon flying off." Mahiru said as she snapped pictures.
"They're beautiful." Ginseng said. "I've never seen Vivillon in this color before."
"No surprise. Vivillon come in a lot of distinct patterns." Jude said from the comm. "Those are Monsoon Vivillon."
"It's one of the 20 patterns discovered so far." Mahiru said.
"20 patterns?!" Ginseng said in surprise.
"That's a lot of variants." ZS said.
"Yeah, it's pretty cool. Because of that, you don't exactly know what kind of pattern you'll have when Vivillon finally evolves from Spewpa. It's sort of a random pull like from a lottery." Rainbow mentioned.
"It's not random at all. The pattern is determined on where they are born." Twilight said.
"Ah, so it's species differentiation is based on location." Double D noted.
"That's right. Vivillon's wing patterns depend on the geographical location from which they originated from." Jude said.
"Yeah, the one I'm seeing right now has dark green wings with small light green square shaped spots and stripes of different shades of brown that go from light to dark on the lower part of their wings." Ginseng said.
"That sounds a lot like the Jungle Pattern." Jude said.
"It would make sense since they're in a jungle-like area." Simon added.
"So the Monsoon were born closer to the water while the Jungle were born inland." Twilight said. "So...that means all 20 Vivillon variants live in Lental."
"Really? It would be amazing to see all of them." Ginseng said.
"Sounds like a fun sidequest." Rainbow said.
"Now...whoa!" Mahiru said seeing a number of Pikipek flying around carrying fruit in their talons as they flew towards a large nest with a Toucannon in it.
"Aw, thats really cute." Ginseng said. "Those Pikipek work really hard for that Toucannon."
"So the Pikipek gather food for their nest so the whole flock can eat. Nice." Mahiru said snapping pictures of this as they came towards a waterfall. "Whoa!" she said seeing a couple of Sobble near it.
"Well, well, it's some of Inteleo's family." Ash said.
"And a sleeping Venusaur." Mahiru said as the Sobble started spraying water on Venusaur, waking it before it jumped and made a huge splash. "Whoa! Definitely a picturesque moment." she said snapping multiple pictures of this.
"Just so you know, you're almost at the end." Mirror said.
"Aw...such a shame. So...will we…" Mahiru asked.
"Yes, you'll definitely come back later in the night." Mirror said.
"Yes!" Mahiru said. "More night photography."
"Okay...look forward to seeing you back." Mirror said as they teleported back to the lab and uploaded the new photos.
"Nice." Mahiru said.
"Now...later tonight. I want you to go back there in the night. But I also need you to do something." Mirror said showing a photo of a crystal-like flower. "This is a Crystalbloom. They're flowers that grow all over Lental. I'd like you to take a photo of Belusylva's Crystalbloom when it's in the Illumina state. I have a theory to test."
"Sure...I'll get some photos of it later tonight." Mahiru said.
