Hey. I know, I know. It's been much longer than a week. I'm a busy person. With the school year winding down, I'm stuck with all the work that I was supposed to be doing when I was writing this. I'm sorry for the infrequent updates and I'm trying to bring a balance to when I write a chapter for my stories. I also have a new story out. It's called Wrath of the Sea.
Chapter 3
The test. Or not.
Third Person P.O.V
Jaden's family had moved all of their kids off a battle royale type training to fighting training.
Currently, Jaden was being thrown around by his mother like a rag doll while the rest of his family have been watching for the past 5 minutes.
A huge burst of fire made contact with Jaden slamming him into the wall of the training area.
"Honey, I think it's about time to call it quits. You have been beating him around for the last 5 minutes." Their father spoke up sounding very worried.
"Dear, No son of mine is a quitter. He is a fighter and will keep fighting till he loses indefinitely." My mom informed him
Jaden pulled himself out of the small crater in the wall that his mother made with his body. He staggered a little bit. "You were wrong about one thing mom," he said quietly while looking down.
"I'm not going to lose!" He said as he lifted his head and stood straight. He lifted his hands and a chill was set in everyone's spine.
Water on the ground froze then covered Jaden's mother and trapped her arms and legs preventing movement and covered her mouth preventing fire breath.
"You were just talking about how I let my guard down, you were wrong. I was planing this from the start. It was the only way I could stop you because everything else I would have tried would have been ineffective. I blocked the ways you can melt my ice the fastest so you can escape but not quickly enough." Jaden explained not showing any damage from the previous large attack
.
Jaden P.O.V
I was glad I beat my mother. She is skilled and I know she wouldn't hold anything back against me because she doesn't know what I'm capable of. I could tell she was surprised throughout the fight because she constantly pressed me harder with her abilities. After the fight and we all went home we were eating dinner for the first time in a while.
"So...Jaden, How did you handle Mom's fireball? Jade can't even take it." My brother Jared asked me.
"Well, I have tanked harder hits than that in the arena. The fights weren't that skilled though. They thought they could take everyone out with their one big attack that they lacked in a lot of ways." Jaden said casually
A comfortable silence settled over the family.
"So Jaden, how good are you with your ice?" Skylah asked
"I'm the best of my age"
"I think Jaden might have surpassed all of if that fight you showed was accurate" My dad spoke up
"I think Jaden is strong enough to take on people with fire quirks, to be honest," Jade pitched in
"I know my limits. I can't risk fighting people with fire quirks. I'm lucky mom didn't catch onto my plan, if she did I would have lost." I said to them
"Hey, you know what would be a cool fight to see? Jaden V.S Skylah." Jared said, smirking.
"Easy, I would win in a landslide" Skylah spoke confidently
"Ha! That's funny you think you could beat me in a fight." I laughed
"I'm serious," Skylah said sounding very serious.
"Now Jaden. Don't underestimate your sister." My dad said
I noticed how quiet my mom has been during this conversation.
"I put my money on Jaden" My mom spoke up for the first time.
After she said that, everyone started betting. Dad and Jade bet on Skylah. Jared and Mom bet on me.
After that no more talking.

~The Next day~
I had been jogging with All Might and Izuku when Izuku had fallen over.
He wasn't slacking that's for sure. He must be overworking himself.
After All Might giving him a talk, I was told to make sure he doesn't overdo it again.
Luckily the last bit of training had passed without incident.
After Izuku was told to EAT THIS!
I laughed so hard. "That has so much meme Potential! HAHA!"
I left early and ran into Bakugou.
"WATCH IT EXTRA!" He yelled at me
"I guess the saying is true. You can't teach an old dog new tricks."
"WHAT YOU DID CALL ME?!"
"Why don't you shut the fuck up? I didn't think you could hold a conversation and I was right."
"DO YOU WANT TO DIE?"
"Oh is that a threat? That's funny, I very clearly remember saving your dumb ass so shut up"
"OI. YOUR STILL AS WEAK AS WHEN WE WERE KIDS." After that, he stormed off. It wasn't until I sat down at the entrance exam with one seat between us that I realized he said 'when we were kids'. Does that mean he remembered me? We were short of friends back then but not as close as he was to Izuku.
Then speak of the devil, Izuku showed up afterward. During the explanation of what was going down, a blue-haired guy came out with a question and complained about Izuku's mumbling.
"First off, you are making a bigger distraction than Izuku so take your seat. He might be mumbling but what's worse, a little mumbling about information about what's going down that could help some people who might not understand or someone jumping out of their seat shouting questions before Present mic was done talking and complaining about someone being distracting louder than the person their complaining about. If you think that's fair, your acting like a child and maybe you should leave instead." I spoke with an edge in my voice, also was lightly lowering the temperature of the room. I was generating a cool breeze out of the palm of my hand which was face up and it was enough to make everyone shiver.
"Your right. I'm sorry for my distraction. Please continue Present Mic." The blue-haired kid said.
Before I could get sorted to which area I would be going I got an urgent text from Lily. They needed help at the Arena. What is more important? My friends or my future could help all of us.
I shot back a quick text and I whispered to Izuku "I got to go man. I know you'll kill it."
I stood up.
"What's Ups young listener?!" Present Mic Asked me as I gathered my things.
"The Damn Extra got cold feet that's what!" Bakugou yelled but not as loud as he normally is.
"No. My friends need my help. I'm going to give it to them." I shot back at Bakugou. I turned back to the front." I'd like to withdraw my application"
"What about your future young listener?!" Present Mic asked me. He seemed curious.
"The whole reason I applied was to help all of us. I can't do that if there is no us"
"Why don't you take some Pro's with you?!"
"I don't need help from the pros. They can only do so much"
With that, I dashed out of there as fast as I could.
This is not what I planned but I was struck with sudden inspiration. So I went on a limb. I hope I get the time to update sometime soon.
I hope you have a great Morning/Night/afternoon/ or evening. Bye.
