Hi ! Zed Loud here, well first, this chapter 3 was not rewriten per say, it's just that... I was re-reading the whole 3 chapters before doing the forth and, I found that the character of Karma, well, I put her in after a conversation I had and well, I can't make her work with the story I want to tell you guys, so I just sort of erased her for now. So to put it simply, only the part with Sona's flashback was rewritten, I just replaced Karma by Rita. For those who didn't read it yet,well I hope you enjoy, thank you for your time, see you in chapter 4, coming soon !

Chapter 3

It was a massacre. How we wished to be there. It's been a while since we hunted.

Sid puked. And Lincoln did too shortly after. "You okay Sid?" asked Ace, the web shooting girl made a thumbs up, but as she saw Carol, barely human, feast on Whitney. The asian beauty passed out, dead as Carol ripped out a piece off of her chest, crushing the bone. Time to time she had a burning pain in either her stomach or her throat as she didn't chew enough the bones resulting in some badly chewed pieces cutting her from the inside. But she didn't care. Unlike before, the tears weren't for the sadness of being a monster, no. It was tears of joy to finally be able to answer the call. "Help me !" shouted Dana running away from this nightmare. Sid heard her, she shooted a spider web, swinging toward Dana. "I got you, I got you." she repeated, holding so hard on Dana's left hand. Just to hear flesh being teared apart. She looked at Dana, her eyes forever frozen with that look. Pure horror. Sid screamed at the top of her lungs. Lincoln came to her. He put a hand on his mouth. Carol walked calmly, chewing on what was left of Dana's thigh. "Carol...what did you do." whispered Lincoln. Sid puked again before passing out. "Little Loud. You must understand, I was so hungry. But I couldn't eat for 3 years." She came closer to Lincoln, bending on one knee, she whispered in his ear. "As much as I want to know the taste of your flesh, your time hasn't come yet." She stood up, grabbing Sid by her throat, the blonde threw Spider-Girl in the arm of Lincoln. "I'll let you 2 go for tonight, try to save one with you Linky." Lincoln ran as soon as her sentence was finished.

Fiona was dragging a drunken horrified Becky while trying to flee from that monster that they once called a friend. " Let me here. Go, save yourself." said Becky as she was crying. Fiona refused, trying to run, but Becky just let her body fall on the ground, in the cliché pose of a damsel in distress. "MORE !" The friends heard Carol scream in the night. Fiona and the drunken girl shivered and prepared for the worst as they heard movement. But it was Lincoln. He was carrying Sid on his back, as he ran. "Go with him. Now !" said Becky, "Ace !" shouted Fiona, Lincoln stopped, and looked at her. "Help me please ! Becky needs…" Blood splashed her face, a lot of blood. Carol had crushed Becky's head with her foot. She took the headless body and tore an arm from it, eating it. Fiona puked, so much. Lincoln grabbed her hand, running with her.

Zed walked out of the cage. He was on his full armor. He raised an arm, and changed it to his blades. "No more restraint." he raised both of his hands as he screamed "WE'RE FREE !" He changed back his blades to his arms, opening his hand, he showed Lucy a ball of pure Ora. He gave it to her. "Eat it Pupil." Lucy took the little orb of Ora, she gazed at it. Touching it with her finger, the orb became black, like the darkest night you have known. She ate it. It became liquide in her mouth, slowly going down her throat. Zed felt little by little the connection linking him to Lucy. Lucy almost choked on it from time to time, as Ora was burning her inside like hell. And then it stopped. Lucy looks at Zed. "Let us see your eyes, Pupil." said nonchalantly Zed. Lucy tied her hair in a high ponytail, freeing her icy blue eyes. And Zed took her right hand. "Be strong." were the only words he said to her. Lucy didn't have the time to ask why, as she screamed of pure pain. Her eyes were invaded by tears, she couldn't talk anymore, everytime she let her voice be heard, it was a beast like cry. Even Zed was nearly uncomfortable, seeing this. Until Lucy talks. It was just one word. And Zed felt like it shattered his heart, Ora's armor being destroyed in a snap of fingers.

"MOM !" That was the only word of Lucy.

Carol was holding a man by his throat, his 'colleague'-that tried to rape her- half eaten on the ground next to a gun. She just changed the fingers of her right hand to claws, and killed the man. "I'm coming." She ran, as fast as she could toward Zed.

Zed let out a battle cry, hugging Lucy. "Fear not Pupil."he said, as Lucy let another inhuman cry out.

Another woman felt Zed's distress in the void of space. She was comfortably sitting on a bed. Her eyes were gold. She was truly beautiful. But don't let this fool you. She was old, exactly 40 years old. She let out a loud gasp. Letting the Orb she had in her hands shattering in the ground. "Hey, are you okay there ?" asked a high pitched voice, skinny girl. It was Jinx. "My son." she just said in a whisper. "Alright, let's find him," said Jinx. Sona, stood up. "Then we go to Earth." Jinx looked at her, something was wrong with the normally silent woman. But Jinx being Jinx, she just shrugged and got back to her cockpit. Sona thought of the last time she saw her son.

"It hurts mom, make it stop." said a young Zed. "I wished I could, but this is bound to happen if you want to access the final test." she explained. Zed looks at her. Refined Ora, being a vibrant blue, was being injected in his veins. "Please, I'm begging you." Sona couldn't take it anymore. She knew, she knew that this was just a comedy, a lie. It was just an excuse to punish her son. "They should have executed him and that girl." someone said. "Who fucking, well fuck their sister ?" said another one. "I, I heard that this process will purify Zed." said a girl, before another girl cut her and said, "True, so that he can marry the Queen's daughter, Rita." "Bullshit, who would be engaged with that, runt ?" A guy joined in, before another one added "She will be better than Carol, she's a freak." "And Zed too."

Sona tried to not hear anything, she looked at her son, kneel next to him, and sang to him.

Awake to my voice

And hear her call within

Embrace the fear inside

Surrender your mind to night again

In Zed's mind, there was something that awakened. A will, a strength.

Close your eyes

Have faith in me

And leave the light behind

Zed closed his eyes, holding the chains that prevented him to move. He pulled, and the chains broke, like it was made of weak ice. A guard rushed to him, but Zed grabbed his arm, taking his sword as he punched the guard in his face, the assassin whirled around, stabbing the guard in his back.

You're never alone

They surrounded Zed, it counted around ten guards. Zed rushed forward. Sword wasn't really his forte but he was pretty decent. The audience only heard one 'cling' as Zed easily blocked a direct attempt to behead him. Zed cut the guard's hand holding the sword before cutting his right leg and killing him by slashing his throat. "Stop watching, kill him already !" ordered the captain, a tall woman that, like the guard, had what could be described as futuristic silver Samurai armor. The only difference was that she had a black scarf, covering her left shoulder. Zed killed them all, one by one. Some were headless, some stabbed, others cut in half. But they were all dead.

Whenever it's cold, let the shadows take hold

The Queen raised a hand, her six personal guards jumped in what served as an arena.

At the moment that their feet touched the ground, Zed made a swift and quick slash in the form of a circle, beheading all of them in one swing. And he stood up, letting his sword fall on the ground. "Someone wants a round with the 'freak' ?" he said calmly. A guy jumped and tried to stab him in his back. But Zed turned and gave him a roundhouse kick in the head as a girl threw a knife that Zed caught, he killed his assailant, by planting the knife in the back of his head, then he threw back the knife, the weapon finishing in the chest of the girl. No one tried again.

A young Rita looked at the scene, holding a tear. "What did you do to him?" she asked in a low voice. Her mother was hiding the sudden fear she had. "What he needed. I helped him evolve." she said, not looking at her daughter. "You changed him into a monster !" said an irritated Sona, joining the little family. "He already has the face of one."the Queen said as she left. Sona, and Rita were shocked by that.

As Sona was lost in the memory, she absently grabbed a photo of Zed as a kid in her arms. "I hope it's not too late."

Lucy opened her eyes. She felt different. "Where am I? What happened ?" she asked as she began to freak out, but then it hit her, she passed out since the pain was too much for her. As for the first question, she was in her bed, no coffin. She slowly gets up, facing the mirror. Her hair was still tied in a ponytail, now messy. She looked at her hand, there were claws, instead of nails. Her hands and forearms were clad in a black skin, with purple veins pulsing from time to time. She seemed older, and was now as height as Luan. Her eyes were a vibrant violet-blue. She had raven's wings on her back. She had a black leotard on and knee high tight navy blue boots. As she thinks of a way to cover herself and hide her wings, the appendages are surrounded in black magic, and it changes into a black cloak. She reaches for the hood and puts it on. There was a little voice in the back of her mind, that said:

Rise, Raven...Pupil of Zed.

Lincoln parked Fiona's car in front of his house. "Wait for me here." And he ran out. He discreetly goes to his room, changed in his usual clothes. But as he approached the stairs he thought back to Sid. "Dang it!" He then got an idea. "Lynn and Sid are almost at the same height."

Lucy heard the door knob being used, thinking fast she thought of a way to hide, to go away, to teleport. And that's what she had done, she teleported in the attic. Lincoln came in, quickly took a white shirt and shorts from Lynn, and ran back to the car.

Minutes after, Fiona, he and Sid were in his room. Fiona was finally asleep. "The fuck was that ?" asked Lincoln in a low voice. "Yeah...just thinking about it…" and Sid puked again. "Sorry." Lincoln gave her a tissue. "Do you think that she's one of them ?" Lincoln took a moment to think, "I don't know, something seems off. Plus Ronnie talked about a hyena, and Carol was like...too human in appearance at least."

"What about Carol ?" asked Lori, as she was standing in the doorway. "Nothing!" said Lincoln. "Yeah….Oh...Oh sorry! Didn't know your girlfriend was here !" she said, looking at Sid. "Oh! Oh, no no no! I'm not his…"Sid said blushing, but she didn't get to finish her sentence, as Fiona woke up screaming. Lincoln flew to her side, Sid being already sitting next to her, she just held Fiona in one side hug. The first words of Fiona were, "Carol is coming." and she began to weep. "What are you talking about ?" Lori asked, concerned. "She ate them all...She fucking ate them !" Lori wasn't as shocked as Lincoln thought she would, actually she was far from it. "I saw her chew on Dana's thigh like it was a nugget. She tore off the flesh from Becky's body, I had her blood on my face !" she said, but as she touched her face, she felt dry blood on it. And she looked at some that were on her finger, and even hands. She threw up. "How did you manage to…" Fiona was quick to answer. "Linky saved me."

Luan was reading, the only thing that she was allowed to do on her cell. Lisa was working on the door. But then something became weird. "This should trap Zed in the basement. The walls are strong enough to resist and contain Zed, but the door would only hold for 2 hours. Bah, this should be enough."

Luan was speechless, what was she talking about ? Does Lisa truly don't care that Luan would end up being stuck with a stranger, that seems dangerous ?"

"Wait a minute, there is Luan !" 'Phew, she didn't forget about me!' Lisa thought for a minute, "Actually I think Luan would be able to give us about 15 minutes more." And Lisa left.

"Lincoln! I thought that we had a deal !" said a very irritated Lori. "I'm sorry, Lisa said that…" Lori pinched her nose, "I don't care ! You should have called me or at the very least Leni !" She said. "Sorry, it would be the last time." he said, Lori hugged him. "I can't lose you Lincoln, "And you won't Lori. I love you." "I love you too."

Lori closed the door, letting Lincoln handle Fiona and Sid. Although her consciousness was screaming at her not to, she was going downstairs, heading for her mother's room.

Rita was sitting on her bed, alone. She was gazing sadly at a photo of her younger self and a tanned skin woman. "I wonder if you still hate me Mother…" she said, a single tear falling on the photo. At the moment that this was taken, no one knew yet that she was expecting Zed's child, not even the now Galactic Slayer. And it was at this moment, that this child came.

Lori opened the door, "Mom, I think that…" but Rita raised her hand. "Lori, we need to talk, but first, go get your sister Leni."

Zed had heard that distant voice so many times that he lost count. It was a mourning whisper, traveling through space. He took a sit, closed his eyes andopenhis mind widely. For the first time since his 'demise' his mind was from his destiny. Outer space, Sona felt it, it was warm, voiceless, like a signal, a shining star telling her where to go. Carol stopped running, she was just a couple houses from Zed, but she smiled, she felt a caress in her heart, in her soul that put her mind and her hunger at ease. Lucy looked outside through the attic's window, it was like her eyes were open. Finally, her very existence was filled by an enlightenment. Harmony, she was worthy of it. Now she would live for it by serving Zed. Karma, the voice that was mourning, couldn't hear, feel and touch it, as her mind was closed for so long. But she did sense something. "Not now, patience Karma, is not ready, nor are you." she whispered. Then there was someone well known by us. Rita Loud. Her very core was feeling it like an earthquake. 'It's been so long' she taught. She was overwhelmed by it. Tears fell down. "Zed, is it really you ?" she dared asked, knowing that he heard her voice. "Yes, we...I am alive." he said. "I missed you so much! Oh Zed…" but she didn't have the time to finish, as Zed closed the gates of his mind once again. Rita dried her tears as Lori and Leni came in.

Zed stood up, climbed the ladder, and escaped at last the bunker. He took a huge breath, enjoying the moment. "I'm coming." he whispered.

"What do you want to talk about mom ?" asked Leni, sitting next to Rita.

"There is no easy way to say that." she said.

(At the same time, Girl Jordan put on her earplug, opened Youtube, and searched for Do You Realize since the damn song was stuck in her head now.)

Rita looked at her two oldest daughters. "Please, believe me, as it's so hard,and I'm ashamed that I didn't talk about it sooner with you Lori. And as for you Leni, I couldn't even tell you the truth." she was softly crying, holding her tears being too hard.

Do you realize we're floating in space

Lincoln was hugging Fiona, as she cried half asleep. Sid was next to him, holding his hands. This wasn't the kind of adventure that they were looking for as heroes.

Do you realize that happiness makes you cry

Lucy stood in front of Carol. "You don't seem scared of me. Why ?" the blonde asked. "I was informed of who you are and told to wait for you." answered the now Raven. I have a message for you, Zed said he needs to take care of something before joining us." Carol nodded at Lucy.

Do you realize that everyone you know someday will die

"Girls, Lynn Sr isn't your father." Rita said, a single heavy tear falling from her right eye. "I'm so sorry, you two are the daughters of…" Lori looks at Leni, tears in her eyes. "Zed. Zed is our father." she said, but she knew that. "But what was the news for me ?" she asked her mom.

Do you realize that everyone you know someday will die

"The news is that your father is home." said Zed, standing in the doorway." he looked at Lori. "Yes Lori, even death can't contain me."
