The Donor
A/N: Just to clarify a few things, to make note of from chapter 2... 1) Elliot doesn't remember what happened that night as he was beyond drunk, note his confusion when he woke up. 2) The cup wasn't completely empty Manny's…stuff…was still in it too, so who's swimmer will get to her egg first? 3) To the reviewers talking about consent, this story is inspired by the comedy The Switch (2010) starring Jason Bateman and Jennifer Aniston. It is a comedy, this story will stay in that genre. I understand any consent complaints, so maybe this story isn't for you, as I follow the same event that happened in this movie. 4) This will time jump to three months later.
Chapter 3
Three weeks later a stick revealed her pregnancy. She honestly couldn't believe her eyes, and the positive sign gleaming back at her, despite doing the insemination over 20 days prior. She took two more tests before really believing it had worked. Manny really did have great genes. Her doctor had told her it could take months and months of trying. On average it took women a year of trying before it succeeded.
Olivia hadn't been able to keep it quiet as everyone knew she was doing it. Casey and Mel constantly badgered her at the two week mark. Olivia took a test then but it was negative, making her fear it hadn't worked.
When she finally got the confirmation she scheduled a blood test as well. When her doctor called with the positive results he booked her for her first ultrasound at 12 weeks.
Elliot had been the first person she confided in. She met him in the cribs one day after their shift and told him the good news.
He sat on a bottom bunk and congratulated her. His memory of that night was still extremely hazy. All Olivia had told him was he drank a lot and then passed out on her bed. He had left shortly after he woke up and she confirmed she had implanted Manny's sample.
They still worked side by side but Elliot was more protective than ever. Olivia knew she'd be benched once she really started to show, which thankfully at the three month mark, was not obvious yet. She began experiencing some morning sickness around the second month.
Elliot began stocking the car with natural morning sickness remedies. He tried to drive more carefully too, avoiding sudden starts and stops, less she throw up in the cruiser.
Three months into her pregnancy found the pair of detectives waiting in her obgyn's waiting room.
She was slightly self conscious as she realized she was the oldest woman in the waiting room.
Beside her Elliot was reading a parenting magazine, although she didn't know what on earth he could possibly learn at this point that he didn't already know.
"Ms. Benson?" a young red headed nurse called out, standing by a door.
Olivia looked at Elliot before standing and walking towards the nurse, her partner as always, followed a few steps behind her, constantly at her back.
The nurse lead them through another door into an examination room.
"Let's get your height and weight before we get started," the nurse instructed.
Olivia stood on the scale and allowed the nurse to take her stats.
After marking them down in her chart she ordered Olivia to sit on the bed and change into a gown.
Olivia glanced at Elliot, "Uh, I hadn't thought about this part during these appointments, can you-"
"Turn around? Yep," Elliot clarified, before spinning around to look at the 'Success Board' full of babies.
Olivia was going to ask him to leave the room but she figured this was good enough. She was a bit surprised just how supportive he had been, since he didn't seem that happy when she initially told him about her plans.
Changing as quickly as she could into the gown she piled her pants and blouse on a spare chair in the room.
"I'm good," she called to her partner.
Elliot turned and walked back towards her with a slight smile on his face.
"You excited to finally see little Oliver or Olivia Jr.?" Elliot asked while standing beside the stretcher.
Olivia grimaced, "Olivia Jr.?"
Elliot shrugged, "No?"
Olivia chuckled, "Probably not my first choice for a girl's name."
Elliot nodded, he was making small talk to try to keep his mind and eyes off of the long tan legs in his field of vision. He had always hated hospital gowns but he was suddenly thankful for them, and his partner's above average height for a woman. Both cases had the gown riding high up on her thick thighs. He knew it was a part of her body that she was always self conscious about but personally it was a favorite of his.
He had one too many fantasies about those thighs and legs. His fingers digging into them as he thrust between her legs. The way they would muffle her moans as they squeezed against his ears while he sucked her throbbing clit between his lips.
Elliot scrubbed a hand down his face. He couldn't be think about her like this. She was his friend and partner. His pregnant partner no less.
"Any ideas about names yet?" he inquired.
Olivia shook her head, "Not really, I know it's been 12 weeks but it hardly feels real yet."
"Oh, it's real!" Elliot chuckled.
"Knock, knock!" Olivia's doctor called as he entered the room.
"Detective Benson! I'm so happy to see you, and we're finally going to see your bundle of joy today too!" Dr Carl Smith exclaimed.
Olivia smiled, "How many times have I told you to call me Olivia."
"Too many," he replied squeezing her forearm.
"And you are?" the doctor asked Elliot, "I know you're not the father," he said as he winked at Olivia.
Olivia laughed, "This is my partner Detective Elliot Stabler, El this is my doctor Carl Smith."
"Very nice to meet you, will you be supporting our girl here during her pregnancy?" he asked Elliot.
Elliot furrowed his eyebrows, "Yeah I'll be supporting my partner, every step of the way, and afterwards," Elliot said somewhat aggressively and possessively.
"Ah so we have Uncle Elliot in the room, excellent, well Olivia let's not delay this special moment any longer. I'm going to do an external pelvic ultrasound and let's see what we can see from that, before we jump to an internal, which I only want to do in the event we can't see the fetus yet with the external!"
Elliot frowned, he wanted to be a part of Olivia's life, however she would have him but for some reason he hated the sound of Uncle Elliot.
Carl provided Olivia with a blanket and covered her legs and lower abdomen. Olivia pulled up her gown to expose her lower torso.
Elliot hadn't noticed her weight gain, her stomach just looked hard with a slight curve to it.
"This may be a bit cold," Carl explained while he squeezed some gel onto her lower stomach.
Olivia and Elliot were quiet while the doctor smoothed the ultrasound wand over her pelvic region.
"Ohhhh, kay. Here we go, see that?" Carl said as he pointed to a small bean shape surrounded by a black background.
Olivia nodded, "It's amazing," she whispered, choking up.
Elliot moved and grabbed her hand, giving it a firm squeeze, "Yeah it really is," he said, swallowing past the lump in his throat.
"Feel real now?" he asked.
Olivia nodded.
The doctor proceeded to take some measurements and pictures before swirling the wand around the area a bit more.
"So everything looks great at this point Olivia, we talked about any genetic testing you can do in the following weeks and mon-" the doctor suddenly stopped talking.
Olivia noticed the look on his face immediately, "Wh-what's wrong?"
"Uh, well nothing, I wasn't expecting this but, um well, congratulations Olivia, I know we didn't discuss it but you're getting a deal with this pregnancy, two for the price of one," he chuckled.
Olivia felt the color drain from her face.
"Tw-twins?" Elliot stuttered.
"Yep!" Carl moves the wand around.
"Baby Benson A, and Baby Benson B," he explained.
Both the detectives were silent as he took more measurements and pictures.
"I-I don't understand, this, I didn't do invetro, I didn't think this would make me have a greater chance of having multiples?" Olivia asked.
Carl smiled at her, "You're absolutely right, this is just a regular twins pregnancy."
"So two?" Olivia clarified.
Carl nodded, "I'm printing off pictures as we speak."
Olivia furrowed her eyebrows, "I'm going to have twins. Two. Babies. More than one? Come out of my vagina? Two. At one time?"
"Yes, look Olivia I know this is unexpected but it doesn't change much in terms of how we handle this pregnancy. Because of your age we were always going to monitor you more closely. The only difference is that the goal will be to get you to 36 weeks instead of the full 40."
"The only difference…for you, you mean," Olivia clarified.
"I mean, I'm doing this alone. And now I'll need two of everything. And I, it was 1:1 before now it'll be 2:1. I only have two arms. What do I do? They'll both be full. I have two breasts and they have two mouths. Will they feed at the same time? Will I make enough milk for two mouths? And how do I bathe two people at once? And what if they don't sleep at the same-"
Elliot could see where this was going, she was freaking out, "Liv, hey look, Liv look at me," he ordered.
Elliot smoothed his hand over the side of her face, directing her eyes away from the monitor until they cling onto his instead.
"Hey, listen to me, I told you I'm going to be there every step of the way, and I meant that! I'm only 10 minutes away, but I will be there, any help you need. And now you really can use Oliver and Olivia Jr."
Olivia couldn't help the chuckle that left her mouth.
"You are the strongest woman I've ever met, you can do this, I promise. If I can do it so can you!" Elliot smiled, smoothing his other hand through her long wavy hair.
Olivia scrunched her eyebrows together, "Wait you've done this before, you have twins!"
Elliot nodded, "Right, so trust me if Kathy and I could do it with two older kids so can you. And I'll be there every day if you want me."
"What are they?" Olivia asked accusingly at the doctor, as if this was all his fault.
The doctor laughed, "We can't know yet, but I can tell you they are fraternal. So not identical."
Olivia sighed, "Thank God, I don't think I could have handled them being identical too."
Carl smiled, "What are your twins Elliot?"
"Fraternal," Elliot answered.
Carl nodded, "Here you go, I printed off a few copies of each. I really am so happy this worked out for you Olivia, I know how long we've talked about you becoming a mother."
Elliot noticed again the doctor rubbed Olivia's bare forearm. The doctor seemed very friendly in general but they also looked particularly close and comfortable around one another.
"So, this was your twelve week check up. Everything looked good, you're going to have some more bloodwork done, and I'll quickly take your blood pressure, but we'll schedule you for another scan at 18 weeks. Keep taking your vitamins, and nothing else needs to change yet. Don't worry about your weight, eat whatever you can tolerate and call if the vomiting gets too bad. Elliot it was a pleasure to meet you."
Olivia smiled, "Thank you Carl, this means-"
"I know, I know Liv," he replied. "Call me, anytime if you need me." He smiled once more at Elliot and winked at Olivia before he left the pair alone in the examination room.
"Wow," Olivia exhaled.
"Yeah," Elliot agreed.
A nurse entered after knocking on the door, she proceeded to take Olivia's blood pressure and temperature before taking her blood. She informed her afterwards that she could get changed, and gave her a new appointment card.
Olivia and Elliot climbed into their cruiser, Olivia clutching a folder with her babies pictures in it.
"Wow," Olivia repeated, still unable to process what had been revealed.
"Yeah," Elliot nodded and agreed again as they sat in their car.
A/N: I know biologically and scientifically speaking the chances of having fraternal twins is actually increased through the female gene, but I took some liberties. Again I'm sorry for anyone who is offended or triggered by this story. I do appreciate any reviews, the good and the negative that I've received. I'm sorry for any errors. I updated this quicker than I had planned because of some of the reviews. I just wanted to clarify some things. Hope your still enjoying this story. I will update Stuck Like Glue very soon.
