Jasmine's P.O.V.
Yazmine told me she wanted to wait until I moved into the room we'd share before getting stuff from home. Oddly, she's getting stuff now though I'm temporarily sharing a room with Ratchet. She wants to surprise me, so while she's doing who knows what to my side of the room, Ratchet has me doing physical therapy.
"I think the Energon should help your muscles, and the time you'll need to do physical therapy will be shortened," Ratchet explains. I'm not even paying attention; all I'm thinking is how I can be a soldier when I can't even walk?
"You will walk again, Jasmine," Ratchet promises and hugs me. I'm nine inches shorter than Ratchet's holoform, but he lets me use him as support as we walk to the physical therapy room — even though I'm moving at a snail's pace.
I need to sit down when we get to the room. I can't believe this short walk is a workout for me.
Ratchet's P.O.V.
Jasmine is displeased with herself for needing to rest after the short walk. This will be rough even if this will only take two weeks, though I'm not sure how long this will take. There are exercises to help strengthen her leg muscles while sitting on a chair. I might need Rung to talk to her before we continue; I text him as Jasmine rests.
"Just give up, Ratchet," she cries when I show her the exercises she can do.
"You have to think positive, Jasmine," I hear Rung, "I know it's hard to, but Lennox and Prime already accepted you into N.E.S.T., and they wouldn't if they are bothered with you needing a little physical therapy to be able to walk again."
She lets me show her the exercises to help her legs; I didn't think Rung would stay until I decide she's done for the morning.
I wheel her to the cafeteria and get lunch for both of us. She told me what she likes for lunch.
I'm glad Jasmine isn't trying to isolate herself from everyone. Drift is another mech that can help her heal. He'd be a better guardian than me, but what Jolt said is also true.
Prowl P.O.V.
It's been a challenge investigating what happened to Jasmine, but it's not impossible. There's a gas station a few miles from the accident, and lucky for us, the con — Flamethrower — stopped there. What happened next is shocking.
"She staged this?" Red Alert asks.
"There's no way someone can stage an attack and fake the trauma Jasmine is dealing with," Lennox argues.
"Look at the outfit; it's different from what Jasmine was wearing," I point out.
The three of us look at each other; we know what this means.
Jasmine's P.O.V.
Should I be thinking about that night? I know the cons hate humans, but the more I think about it, that night seemed planned. Their objective was to kill me. If I ran into a con, I'm certain they'd humannap me.
"Jasmine?" Ratchet tries to get my attention, "what's wrong?"
"Nothing," I lie.
"You forget we can detect hormone changes; you're lying, and that's not going to help your mental health."
I know It's bad to piss off Ratchet, but I'll have to repeat myself later. Ratchet sighs and resumes eating.
I'm not ready for this meeting, but I'm going to have to tell them what happened that night. Ratchet's going to have me tell them what I've been thinking. Ratchet and Rung talk about how my recovery is going. It's not reassuring to hear both mechs think I'm doing good. I feel like there's a deadline, or I'm out of N.E.S.T.
"Jasmine," Prime speaks, "I don't expect you to fully recover by a certain time. Though from what Rung and Ratchet tell me, you are making great progress."
Lennox and Prowl agree; then the mood is killed when Prowl asks me to tell them what happened that night. I feel Ratchet hold my hand as I make myself remember that night. It's embarrassing breaking down and crying in front of my superiors.
"I promise you, we will protect you; you are safe," Prime assures me.
Ratchet wheels me back to the medbay and into his office.
"You're ok; you're healing faster than most humans would."
"You know if you didn't think to try Energon, I'd be dead!"
Prowl's P.O.V.
I dread telling Prime what Lennox, Red Alert, and I discovered.
"She has to be working with the Decepticons," Prime frets.
"There's enough evidence to charge her with being an accessory to murder," I tell them, "even though Jasmine survived."
I'm permitted to arrest Yazmine.
Ratchet's P.O.V.
It's been three weeks since Jasmine has been outside. Once I get her to calm down, I suggest taking her for a walk through the park nearby.
"Let me go!" We hear as we go down the hall.
Terrible timing as we watch Yazmine being taken away in cuffs.
"Prowl, what the frag? I ask.
"Yazmine planned for Jasmine to be killed," he replies before going with the other two officers. Forget the walk; I'm taking Jasmine to our room.
I help her sit on her bed and sit with her, letting her cry as I hug her.
"I-I can't believe m-my own sister tried to kill me," Jasmine sobs.
I'm not sure how to help her. Is there anything even Rung can do?
Jasmine cried herself to sleep. As I lay her down, I find a note under the pillow.
You are supposed to be dead. Now that you're a hybrid, you're worth more than roadkill to the Decepticons. Keep thinking you're safe because you're not.
Yazmine
I put the note in my pocket to give to Prowl. I'm not a detective, but I want to know why Yazmine wants her sister dead. Why did the cons agree to help her? Obviously, now they'll want Jasmine since she's a hybrid.
Prowl's P.O.V.
"Why do you want your sister dead?" I ask Yazmine.
"I was going to kill her anyway; I'm so sick of her being better than me. Yeah, the lame 'because they're better than me' motive."
"So you expect me to believe that is your motive even though you just said it's lame? TELL ME THE TRUTH!"
"That is the truth, but I didn't tell you everything," she smiles, "when Jasmine said she wants to join N.E.S.T. like dad, I agreed with her, but it's just something else I get to watch her be better at. So, I planned to join the cons, but the con I spoke with said killing Jasmine would be better. Though she's alive, Megatron is very pleased with the results. Hard to believe he's decided Jasmine surviving the attack is the better result. Though I'm not sure if Flamethrower is still alive after Megatron heard he didn't kill Jasmine."
Rung's P.O.V.
Jasmine's recovery will face a setback, knowing her sister planned to kill her. I don't think she would have a chance to recover if she read the note.
"I think adding medication to her treatment is a good idea," I tell Ratchet, "let's try a month, then slowly reduce the dose for a month."
Ratchet agrees and texts Jolt to get the medication from the hospital.
"I'll do my best to help her," Ratchet vowes before I leave.
