RAW is WAR, off screen
"That's great, man." George said as he sat on a crate backstage, talking on the phone to his brother, Jack Edwards, who has been making plans to come to World Wrestling Federation from the Indies scene. They did use to be on the road together when both were in the Indies, but separated to go solo. Jack tried going for WCW like George did in early 1997, but neither were what WCW was looking for.
Plus with Hulk Hogan in WCW...yeah, they wouldn't be able to make it more than two months before being shoved aside because of that man's ego.
"Yeah, I've been talking with Vince and the McMahons about a place here." Jack said with a chuckle. "If I do, I will be going by my usual name, the Jackal. i know there was a guy there with the same name, but that was with a Y in the name. Mine is the actual word Jackal, not Jackyl. I'm planning on arriving next week on RAW for my debut match, hopefully I don't piss anyone off since I hear from you that it's a bad idea to earn the wrath of the Undertaker."
George laughed. "Don't worry, Mark's off for a while so he left matters to me, Triple H and Kane. Just don't get yourself in Wrestler's Court, already had to deal with the Hardy Boyz about that because they took Kane's seat on the plane."
"Damn..." Jack said with a chuckle. "Right, I better go. Gotta get ready for my last match on the Indies."
"Alright, see you when you get here." George said with a smile before they hung up on each other and George was about to leave when Trish came up to him. "Oh hey Trish."
"Hey." Trish smiled at him, which made his heart skip a beat. "Who was that on the phone?"
"My brother, Jack." George said as they walked down the hallway. "He's debuting on RAW next week."
"Oh... I didn't know you had a brother." Trish said with an eyebrow raised.
George sheepishly chuckle. "I don't like to talk about my family much, Jack and I had busy things to do and it just slipped my mind. We've always been close, can't say the same for the rest of our family with how our last meeting with them went."
Flashback: Mid-1997
"I can't believe you'd want to do something so...so...stupid!" David Edwards, George's father who was a businessman, yet was a big asshole whenit came to him wanting his children to follow in his footsteps.
George rolled his eyes, annoyed at this point. "How is wrestling stupid, Dad? It's what I want to do."
"You already got rejected by WCW, why continue?" David asked angrily.
"Because it would be a better life than you controlling it!" George shouted, glaring at his father. "Every time, I was the one looked down upon because of what i wanted to do. Me, the eldest of your children. You always looked disapponed with me even when I lied up to your expectations, but I've had enough!"
"Don't take that tone with your father!" George's mother, Anne Edwards, scolded her son.
George rolled his eyes. "Of course you'd defend him. Hell, I'm the one that gets blame, I'm the one who gets the brunt of everything even as a kid. Not Jack, not Shannon, not Margaret, not Samantha, no one else! Just me! I've had it! i've had it with this family trying to make me a slave, trying to control me, I am out of here!"
"Don't you dare walk out on us. boy!" David yelled as he followed his son to the door, George picking up his backpack thatw as filled with clothes, food, drink, and money he would need for the road. Luckily he had a car. "You walk out that door...don't EVER come back!"
George gave his father a glare. "Don't worry, I won't. Consider this bad egg cutting himself off from this shit family. I hope my siblings have a better life to lead than what you want because guess what, if I ever meet a woman, get married and have kids...you ain't coming to the wedding, and you SURE as hell won't be part of my children's lives!"
With that he slammed the door shut, stormed to his car and got in. He took a few calming breaths as a tear fell down his cheek before he started his car up. George then drove off, away from his parents. He never wanted to seem them again. They always tried controlling him because he was the oldest out of his brother and sisters, he had to set an example.
Sure he was rebellious, slept around with women, but he had good grades at school and din't get himself in trouble. He wanted to live his life the way he wanted, not the way his parents wanted.
And so began George's wrestling career in the Indies...
End flashback
Trish stared at George wide eyed as he leaned against the wall, arms crossed. "Couple of months later, Jack phones me and tells me he's on the Indies scene as well. We met up a d he told me my parents were still unhappy, and they were incredibly angry with his decison to do wrestling."
"So you disowned your family." Trish said with shock.
"They did it first." George said darkly as he remembered his talk with them after Owen died last year. He shook his head and sighed. "Anyone, I gotta go. I got to get ready for tonight."
Trish nodded, smiling a bit. "Okay, see you." She watched him go and sighed.
RAW is WAR: 10/4/2000
RAW is WAR was live at the National Car Rental Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The show began with The Rock coming out to kick off the show. The Rock said that even though he had had his way with Vince, Shane and Stephanie McMahon over the last few weeks, he wanted more. He wanted a shot at the World Wrestling Federation Championship!
OOOOOOWHOOOOOO!
Metallica's For Whom the Bell Tolls plays to a loud pop before Bladewolf comes out on his motorcycle.
"I think there's someone who might have something to say about that." JR said. "Because here comes the Bladewolf! Bladewolf who faced the Rock this past SmackDown for the right to face Triple H for the WWF Title at Backlash, has been clamouring for a title shot but after last week on SmackDown...I doubt he's happy."
"When is he ever happy, JR?" Jerry asks.
Bladewolf drives down the ramp and circles the ring on his motorcycle, stops the bike at the end of the ramp and gets off. He enters the ring and grabs a microphone, staring down the People's Champion as his theme dies down.
"You want a shot at the title..." He began slowly as he slowly paced before he scoffed and glared at the Rock. "Well get in line, Rock. I want a shot at Triple H, I actually earned it by beating his ass last week on RAW. You...you just DEMANDED a shot. The way I see it, I have more right to facing Triple H than you. If you have something to say about that or get in the way of my desires...do something right now and we can settle it in this ring."
The crowd cheered as the two men were eye to eye, glaring each other down. The cheers turned to boos when Vince McMahon walked out onto the stage with a steel chair in hand and a microphone in the other hand. Bladewolf and the Rock looked and glared at the boss.
"Hold on there you two." Vince said as he set the chair up on the stage and sat down, leaning back on the chair. "I can see a lot of hostility between you two, you both want to be WWF Champion, you both want Triple H at Backlash, but it's clear you two will not tolerate the other getting in the way of that. See, here's the thing you two...you are what I made you. Rock, I made you, I made your family. You owe me, and yet you repay me with your actions on SmackDown?!" The Rock glared at Vince. "Bladewolf...well, you have been the biggest thorn in my side. You would be a terrible champion since Stone Cold Steve Austin and Mick Foley."
Vince stood and took the chair before he started walking down the ramp towards the ring.
"Bladewolf...you have held the WWF Title two times, and they were very short reigns." Vince continued as he came to the ring and entered. "What makes you think that winning a third time will be a longer reign? You can't even hold the title past 50 days, the only titles you have are the Intercontinental and the Tag team titles." Bladewolf glared at Vince. "The way I see it, you would just suck at being WWF Champion, the both of you would make terrible WWF Champions. I think you two need to work out your issues by being tag team partners!"
Both Bladewolf and the Rock looked ready to snap and go for Vince when Triple H, Stephanie, and Shane came out which got Bladewolf and the Rock's attention. Behind them, Vince raised his chair and went to strike Bladewolf who whirls around and halts the chair with just one hand, causing Vince to go wide eyed. Bladewolf grabs Vince by the throat, looks straight at Triple H as he lifts Vince up...AND PLANTS HIM WITH A CHOKESLAM!
Shane, Triple H and Stephanie had to assist the owner back to the locker room as the Rock mouthed off to them, not seeing Bladewolf looking ready to Spear him. The Rock turned around and flinched when Bladewolf lunged but it was a fake lunge. Bladewolf smirked at the Great one, playing mind games with him. The two stare each other down as the show goes to commercial break.
In the first match of the evening, Edge and Christian defended the Tag Team Championship against the Road Dogg and X-Pac, seconded by Tori. When Tori distracted the referee, Road Dogg clobbered Christian with one of the Tag Team Titles; X-Pac made the cover and we appeared to have new Tag Team Champions. However, senior official Earl Hebner came from the back and explained what happened to referee Mike Chiota, who ordered the match to continue. Seconds later, Edge speared X-Pac, and pinned him, so Edge and Christian retained their titles.
After preaching to the crowd about the joys of abstinence, Kurt Angle defeated the Godfather, accompanied by some fine Ft. Lauderdale ladies, with his Olympic suplex.
With Grand Master Sexay out nursing an injured knee, two-thirds of Too Cool (Scotty Too Hottie and Rikishi Phatu) teamed up with Tazz for six-man action against Chris Benoit, Perry Saturn and Dean Malenko. Scott locked Malenko into his own Texas Cloverleaf maneuver, but there was pandemonium in and out of the ring, and the referee was distracted. Saturn clobbered Scotty from behind, and the Radicalz ended up stealing the victory.
There had been rumors all night that Triple H would defend his Federation Championship, but his opponent was unknown. Those questions were to be answered as the champion, accompanied by Stephanie and Shane, came out dressed in his ring attire. Backstage, Taka Michinoku and Funaki walked through the doors, and Triple H could be seen grinning; however, when the Acolytes walked through the doors immediately after the members of Kaientai, Triple H's emotions changed into shock. It was Taka that was to be Triple H's opponent, but Taka and Funaki had clearly paid for the services of the Acolyte Protection Agency.
Before the match got underway, Bradshaw and Faarooq chased Shane back to the locker room. Moments later, Shane reappeared, this time with Vince. While Shane and Vince distracted the Acolytes, Bull Buchanan and the Big Boss Man came from behind and knocked Bradshaw and Faarooq unconscious. Back in the ring, Triple H finished off Taka with a Pedigree. As Shane, Vince, Stephanie and Triple H retreated to the locker room, they pummeled the fallen Acolytes with a couple of kicks for good measure.
On SmackDown, Bubba Ray Dudley attempted to put Trish Stratus through a table. Looking for revenge, an angry Trish ordered Test and Albert into the Dudley Boyz locker room on RAW. T&A did just that, and put quite a beating on Bubba Ray and D-Von. After the break, T&A was in tag team action, as the duo took on the Hardy Boyz. Test and Albert clearly had the size and power advantage, but Jeff and Matt used their quickness and finished off Albert with the Twist of Fate and the Swanton bomb. After the match, the Dudleys attacked T&A, and set up a table. But instead of playing a helpless victim, Trish gave Bubba Ray a seductive glance. Bubba Ray stood in awe, which gave Albert enough time to recover, throw D-Von out of the way, but drive Bubba Ray through the table with a double-handed chokeslam.
Next up, Val Venis was in singles action as he took on the Big Show, who had dressed up like … Val Venis! Big Show came to the ring with a long blonde wig and a towel around his waist. He soon removed the towel to reveal a pair of hot pink "V" trunks so large that Guinness had to be informed. The Show encouraged all the ladies to pick the "Big Show Titantic" over his tiny "SS Minnow" opponent. Val upset the Show, however, when he informed him that the Titantic sank - and it wasn't an iceberg that sank the ship, Val said, but the Big Show's large posterior. The Show was so enraged that he attacked Val, and went on to get himself disqualified after choking Val with his wig! Even though he lost the match, the Show still gyrated for the ladies before making his way back to the locker room.
In a grudge match for the European Championship, new champion Eddy Guerrero, accompanied by his "mamacita" Chyna, took on Chris Jericho. In a virtual repeat performance of what happened last week, Chris Jericho had the match won, but the referee had been inadvertently knocked out. Chyna entered the ring and dropped Y2J with a low blow and DDT. A revived referee administered the three count, and Guerrero once again won the match thanks to his woman.
Backstage
Bladewolf is shown backstage getting ready for his match tonight when the Rock entered, causing Bladewolf to roll his eyes. "Great, what do you want?" he asked with annoyance.
"Merely to ask what that near Spear was about." The Rock said as he glared at Bladewolf.
"Did I go through with it? No, so what are you winging about?" Bladewolf asked, rolling his eyes again.
"In caseyou'e forgotten, we have a tag team match tonight. We don't trust each other, we don't even like each other." the Rock said. "But we have a common goal, and that's making Triple H's life a living hell with the rest of those Jabronis that walk with him and we both want to be WWF Champion."
Bladewolf stared the Rock in the eye. "Perhaps, but only one of us is going to get that chance. So what are you proposing?"
"That you and the Rock take care of who we face tonight, then we can focus on Triple H." The Rock said. "The Rock'll see you out there...partner."
With that, the Rock walked away while Bladewolf watched him leave before he shook his head.
In the arena, a steel cage lowered to the ring and the Rock's theme played soon after. The People's champion walked down to the ring, looking the cage over as he realized this will be a tornado tag match inside a steel cage. Nevertheless, the Rock entered and paced about as he waited for his...'partner'.
OOOOOOWHOOOOOO!
Metallica's For Whom the Bell Tolls plays to a loud pop before Bladewolf comes out on his motorcycle.
"And here comes the Demon Wolf." JR said.
Bladewolf drove down the ramp and circled the caged ring before parking his bike at the end of the ramp. He got off, took his trench coat off and placed it onto his motorcycle's seat, then entered the cage while staring the Rock down.
The Big Boss Man;s theme hits and out he comes with Bull Buchanan. Accompanying them was Vince McMahon, Shane McMahon, Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley, and Triple H. Bladewolf and the Rock shared a look with each other as they watched their opponents walk down the ramp.
As soon as Boss Man entered the ring, the Rock was already attacking him.
'Ding! Ding! Ding!'
Buchanan entered the ring and Bladewolf was attacking him right away as the cage door was shut and locked. Bladewolf gets Buchanan into the corner and unloads witha fury of lefts and rights before he uppercuts the man. Behind him,, the Rock was taking it to the Boss Man when Bladewolf walked over, grabs Boss Man and tosses him into the cage wall, sending him down.
Bladewolf and the Rock have a stare down before they start stomping away on Boss Man, get him into the corner and keep stomping on him before Bladewolf backs off and clotheslines Buchanan. Bladewolf starts hammering away on Buchanan as the Rock grapples with Boss Man in the corner and Boss Man starts getting the upperhand and gets the Rock into the corner where he presses the Rock's face into the steel cage.
Boss Man notices his partner in trouble and takes out his nightstick before running...AND CLOBBERS BLADEWOLF IN THE BACK WITH IT! Boss Man keeps up the attack with the nightstick a few times before tossing it aside as he and Buchanan start double teaming Bladewolf by stomping away on him before they pull him to his feet, rebound him off the ropes and together they catapult him over them and onto his back hard.
The two men look at the Rock in the corner before Boss Man Irish whips Buchanan towards the Rock who ducks it, boots Buchanan in the stomach...AND HITS A DDT! The Rock gets to his feet only to be knocked down by a running forearm by Boss Man. Boss Man goes to the corner and starts climbing when Bladewolf comes up and grabs him before yanking him down to the mat hard.
Buchanan goes to clobber the Rock, but the People's Champion ducks it...AND BLADEWOLF NAILS BUCHANAN WITH A SUPERKICK! Rock hooks Buchanan up...AND HITS A ROCK BOTTOM!
The Rock and Bladewolf share a look with each other before nodding then they notice Shane McMahon climbing the cage wall outside the ring. Bladewolf runs and leaps onto the cage and clobbers Shane, getting into a exchange of rights with him before he tries pulling Shane into the ring. Behind him, Boss Man low blows the Rock and takes him down while Buchanan runs up to Bladewolf...AND LOW BLOWS HIM AS WELL!
Shane falls back down to the outside. Buchanan and Boss Man start double teaming Bladewolf again, pressing him against the cage and start pushing their boots into his chest and head before they start stomping on him. They then pick Rock up, Buchanan holding his arms back and allowing Boss man to get in some rights to the stomach, then lands a hook to the jaw that floors the Rock. Buchanan rebounds off the ropes and hits a leg drop on the Rock.
They grab Bladewolf and drag him into the middle of the ring, and Buchanan rebounds off the ropes going for another leg drop but this time on the Bladewolf...WHEN THE BLADEWOLF SITS UP! Buchanan hits the mat and yells in pain as Bladewolf gets to his feet, covering himself up when Boss Man attacks but Bladewolf then knees Boss Man in the stomach, gets behind him and hits a German Suplex, then grabs Buchanan and hits a suplex on him. Bladewolf hooks his leg but Buchanan kicks out at two.
Bladewolf gets to his feet and flips his hair back before he grabs Boss Man by the throat, looking for the Chokeslam when Triple H starts climbing the cage wall which causes Bladewolf to release Boss Man, run...AND BOOTS THE CAGE INTO TRIPLE H! KNOCKING HIM OFF!
Bladewolf glares at Triple H before he turns around into a clothesline by Boss Man. The Rock comes to his partner's aid but Buchanan clobbers him from behind and the two men are now back in control as they stomp on both men and keep them down as best as they can. They pull the Rock to his feet but the Rock starts fighting back only to get a double clothesline by both men and Buchanan goes for the cover but the Rock kicks out at two
Buchanan and Boss Man focus more on the Rock as Bladewolf is laid in the corner, down and out for now. The two Heel wrestlers press the Rock's face into the steel cage and Vince, Shane, and Triple H mock the Rock which causes the People's Champion to glare at them through his pain. Behind them, Bladewolf gets to his feet and sees the Rock is in trouble.
Bladewolf walks up and grabs Boss Man, throwing him off the Rock, then uppercuts Buchanan as the crowd cheers. Bladewolf starts going back and fourth with hitting his two opponents with hard rights while protecting the Rock. The Rock gets to his feet and sees Bladewolf shoving Buchanantowards him, so the Rock scoops him up...AND HITS A SAMOAN DROP!
Bladewolf grabs Boss Man by the throat, lifts him up...AND PLANTS HIM WITH A CHOKESLAM! BLADEWOLF HOOKS THE LEG! ONE! TWO! THREE! THE ROCK AND THE BLADEWOLF WIN!
'Ding! Ding! Ding!'
For Whom the Bell Tolls plays as Bladewolf gets to his feet and turns around only to be hooked up...AND HIT WITH THE ROCK BOTTOM!
"I did't hesitate!" The Rock yelled down at Bladewolf and his theme played as he celebrated. However, Vince, Shane and Triple H ganged up on The Rock, busting him open with brass knuckles. While The Rock lay in a pool of blood, Triple H said that he was done playing games and he was going to make life a living hell for the "Great One."
As the McMahon boys and Triple H attempted to Pedigree The Rock on a chair, the Acolytes came out and went after Bull and Boss Man, who were standing outside the cage, and then turned their attention to the McMahons and the champion. Bradshaw and Faarooq succeeding in running off The Rock's enemies, but the damage had been done...
And that's it for this chapter.
