Hello there, I have returned once again. I have now become a legal adult in most places, so it's time to legally, and respectfully simp for my favorite cosplayers. (JK I only simp for my gf now)

Anyway, here is the next chapter, hope you enjoy!

Icarus's PoV

I looked around the modest house that Miruko lived in. It wasn't anything huge, but there was evidence of a small child living there.

"Do you have a kid?"
"Yeah, I adopted her bout a year ago, saved her from a disaster zone, and no one claimed her."

"That's really sweet, what's her name?"

"Ahyma, she's a real brat sometimes but I love her."
"How old is she now?"
"Just started her first year of elementary school last week."

I looked around the mantel, and it was littered with framed artwork and photos of a little girl with dark skin, pure black eyes, dark blue hair, and a thin scar running from one end of her face to the other.

"Follow me,"

She led me upstairs to the third floor, which was a single guest room, with floor length windows to the east.

"This is where your birdbrained dad stayed when he was too fucked up to go home."

"How long did you two known each other? Did you train together?"

"Oh hell no! Up until ten years ago I didn't even work for, let alone own, a hero agency." She cackled

"Why?"

"Well you see kid, up until a few years ago The Hero Commission that ran all the agencies and gave them orders from the government, was hella corrupt. Like covering up the unforgivable crimes of corrupt heroes. Silencing those who spoke out against them, controlling the media, planned assassinations, keeping specific groups of people down, and forcing others into desperate situations to control the beliefs of the public. In all honesty the catalyst was your parents' disappearance. Once Hawks was killed on a mission off the books, and the hero commission tried to cover up the details someone hacked into their mainframe and leaked all of their files into the internet."

"Well shit."

"Dirty laundry was finally set to air out, and the number one hero of the time was revealed to be an abuser and all around horrible person. People lost faith in their heroes which was the overall goal of the League of Villains in the first place." She explained

"The number one hero back then, Endeavor right? I remember reading old articles about him when I was on my way over here, he was mentioned a lot in old LoV articles."

"That's the bastard. He's also the parent of the current number four hero Shouto, left a huge stain on the kids early career, all interviewers wanted to talk about was his childhood and the type of training he had to go through. Got to a point where he refused to talk to the press without his significant other to back him up." Miruko explained

"My parents caused that?"

"Yeah, your dad may have been a villain when he first stepped onto the scene, but by the end he was viewed as a tragic hero; in some regard."

Why did they never talk about their lives?

Is this why…

"Did they kill people?"

Her silence said it all. It was weird, thinking about the lives my parents led that I never knew about. They were completely different from when they raised me.

"Hey, trust me kid. Hawks, your dad, was a good man, I wouldn't be here if he wasn't there to drag my stupid ass out of some situations. But it's a lot to take in, so get some rest. I'm sure you're tired."

With that she left me alone. Just like I had been for too long now.

I live. I'm graduating in a week, so I figured I would have more time to write. Thought I should at least give you one more update before I finish high school
