The next day after Eda decided to keep Luz as her own until she's old enough to leave, the owl lady decided that it's best if the tike had her own room to sleep in so Eda doesn't have to wake up to the little girl all curled up in her hair again.
The door to a large room filled with junk opens up as Eda holding lil' Luz in her arms walks in and glances around.
"Okay, kid. This is gonna be your new bedroom." Eda said with a big smile.
Luz also looked around the room to see random objects sprawled out on the floor.
"Messy!" Luz piped.
"When you hardly have any visitors come over, you won't worry so much about tidiness either." Eda replied as she brought Luz to the ground as her little legs wobbled for balance.
"This should be a simple fix. All I have to do is make space like so," Eda's hands illuminated in light as she brought them to her chest and pushed them out in a motion that's reminiscent to a swimming motion. As she did this, everything in front of Eda glowed and moved on it's own away from Eda and all against the wall. There's now a clear path towards the front wall with a window seeing out.
"Now that that's out of the way, we should now find you a-"
"AH!" Luz squealed.
Eda turned to her in time to catch Luz grabbing a hilt sticking out of the pile and pulls on it. Luz falls back with the hilt following to revealed the sharp blade of a sword emerging from the pile.
"Yay!" Luz cheered at her prize.
"Oh no, no, no. That's not a toy." Eda spoke as she grabbed the weapon from Luz's palms before she could hurt herself.
"Thinking about it now; I should probably clear out the weapons in here and move them somewhere else. Anything sharp, heavy, curse-giving, or something that can bring forth the end of the world. But that'll be so much work though..." she groaned boredly.
But knowing she has to do it, Eda sucked it up and got anything deadly out before Luz could grab it and stored in in another part of the house.
"Sorry you can't have cool & fun stuff in your room, Luz. But your skin is so sensitive and pudgy. So pudgy!" Eda explained as she lightly squeezed Luz's cheeks which made her giggle.
"So what will you do for a bed?" King asked as he walked into the room.
"Probably make a makeshift cot for her or something." Eda replied.
King scowled and cocked his head to the side. "A makeshift cot? Why not go into town and buy her a bed?" the little demon asked.
Eda loomed over King with her hands on her hips.
"Do you have any idea how expensive beds are now? Why do you think I sleep in a giant nest?" she defended.
"Because you're weird." King replied honestly.
"Sure. Let's go with that," Eda rolled her eyes. "And why do you care? You sleep on the couch!"
"Hmm. Fair point. I guess I'll go find a bunch of feathers for a mattress then." said King.
...
A few hours later, Eda & King have completed Luz's bed which... could be better.
Eda reluctantly used one of her sheets to create a mattress with the feathers while King looked for enough wood to make a bedframe. For the finishing touches; Eda provided a pillow and a blanket.
Luz was then placed on the bed where she immediately took interest. Testing the softness and bounce it gave when she jumped on it. Long story short: she loved it. Eventually Eda will get around to clearing more things out so Luz can have more room for herself and can add her own possessions to take up space.
That night, Eda found Luz nuzzled against the pillow fast asleep with the moonlight shining above her.
Eda smiled at the rather adorable sight. And in a moment of weakness, Eda approached the sleeping child, bent over and planted a small kiss on her forehead.
"Goodnight, Luz. See you in the morning." Eda whispered and left the room while making sure to quietly close the door.
Luz, still asleep, shuffled on her bed as a breathless reply escaped her lips.
"Goo'nite, Mama.
