A/N: Sorry for taking so long with this chapter. A lot of shitty stuff has been going on and so I've been in a dark place. Don't worry though, I'm doing much better.

If you ever want to find out how the next chapters are coming along, I do have a discord server so let me know if you'd love to join.

4/11/2021: I tried to make it much longer than the last chapter but I've been busy this week helping my parents with take care of my grandmother.

Enjoy today's chapter!

Hermione leaned against the cold and damp wall. The room she was in only had a very small window with barely any light coming through. Her thoughts would sometimes wander to Severus and their daughter, Ellie. She hoped they were alright and doing well. Her captors would sometimes let her know how much time had passed and other times they would mock her for not being there as her daughter grew up.

A creaking noise from her left caused her to look up as one of her captors walked into the room. He stared smugly at her as he walked up to her "How's our favorite woman doing today?"

Like always, she ignored him and stared down at the ground 'Just leave me be..' She felt him grab her chin roughly and make her face him.

"Don't ignore me girl" He sneered at her before releasing her "I bring news of your husband and filthy spawn"

That made her stare up at him in surprise.

"We've heard that he's left your daughter with your filthy muggle parents" He began to laugh darkly before speaking once more "Such a shame that she'll have to be disposed of.. along with those muggles"

"Leave them alone!" Her voice sounding hoarse from barely speaking.

"Ah.. finally after a few weeks, you've decided to bless me with your voice"

"Please.. don't hurt them" She felt tears slip down her face but didn't bother wiping them "Please.."

"Not how it works girl.. we do as we please" He began walking back towards the door to leave "And if we decide to kill your filthy family, we shall"

8 Months Later

Severus let out a sigh as he glanced around the room as the Aurors and the Minister spoke. They'd been searching non stop for eight months now and haven't found where his wife was being held. He grew more upset at the thought of never finding her at all and breaking the promise he made to his daughter.

He knew many of the places every death eater hid but so far none proved to be helpful in finding Hermione.

"Severus, I'm sending you and Harry to search the northern blastin"

"Very well.." Severus nodded as he and Harry disapparated.

Ellie knew she was supposed to be smiling on a day like today but how was she to be happy about going to Hogwarts when the two most important people that should have been here to see her off.. weren't?

"Are you nervous, Ellie?" She heard her grandmother ask as they walked up to the Hogwarts Express.

"A little.. but I'm mostly sad that my parents aren't here to see me off" She replied then let out a sigh "I heard from father that it's very special the first time someone boards the train"

Both her grandparents looked at each other before looking back at her "I know, but at least we're here with you" Her grandfather replied as he placed a hand on her shoulder "And the next time you board the train, they'll be there"

"Really?" Ellie looked up at him with hope in her eyes.

"Yes, the Aurors are doing their best to find your mo-" He was cut off as she hugged him suddenly and tightly.

"I can't wait until they find her.." She mumbled as she buried her face against him "It'll be fun to tell her all about what I've been doing since she's been gone.. and how many books I've been reading" That last part got a chuckle out of her grandparents.

"I'm sure she'll be very proud that you've been reading so much" She heard her grandmother say.
