The battle ensues inside the shinobi barriers, and the opposing force of Katagiri and the group called Frontier Frontals were raging on. Both sides were not letting up and putting up a decent fight. Katagiri was all over the place during the battle against the elite five. Katagiri was facing off against the leader of the Gessen, Yumi. Yumi summons her ice showers, but Katagiri smashes all of the ice with ease. Katagiri moved up to Yumi and hit her, but it was blocked by her.
Katagiri continued his assault which Yumi parried the attacks with ease. Katagiri swings his bat again, but Yumi dodges again. Katagiri is still trying to come up with an idea of an attack against Yumi. Katagiri made another attempt to attack. Yumi moved out from the vicinity, and the arrow was shot from behind her. The arrow was able to hit Katagiri, but Katagiri managed to block the arrow that was fired. Katagiri swept the arrow as it disappeared.
The shot came from Naoki, who was using a recurve bow as the weapon of choice. The upper bow limb and lower limb were metallic white that can also be used in close quarters. The limbs are blades that can cut enemies, and the middle's grip was black with a Gessen emblem embedded on it.
"Tch! He is making it hard for us. Yumi, be careful." he called out to her.
"Understood. Naoki-san." Yumi replied as she prepared for the next strike that Katagiri would make.
"Phew, You almost got me there. That arrow speed was fast, and the impact is heavy as well. Gessen might not be high society brats after all." Katagiri swinging his metal bat.
"We'll take that as a compliment. Answer me, why are you attacking Gessen?" Yumi asked. Katagiri stopped his movement and planted his bat to the ground.
"I'm quite bored to tell you all the details, but if you can beat me, I'll tell you. Shinobis of Gessen" Katagiri grins at the two upperclassmen and tells the both of them to bring it. The both of them did not know what was possessing this young upstart to start targeting them. Is it confidence, or is it something to prove?
Naoki only laughs at the situation that he is in. Maybe it's time for a class session this 1st year. "Looks like this green leaf wanted to face us. Shall we teach him that he still has a long way to go? He suggested the idea to Yumi, who nodded as she summoned what could be ice shards, and Naoki produced the strings for his bow and created 3 arrows by pulling strings of his bow.
Meanwhile, the others were fending off the Naoki's group, who are pretty hard to deal with. Murakumo and Shiki manage to get a couple of hits to this band of delinquents, but the encounter with Naoki's group before and the injuries that they suffered have not healed. Yozakura and Naoto were mowing down a couple of them, Minori and Kenji were struggling with a couple of them. The Naoki's group was relentless even for 1st-year students. Kota managed to take down 5 of them at once and was hot on the offensive. Kota took down another one, and he looked to see that Kenji and Minori were struggling a bit. Kota came to their aid and stuck with the two as the three were surrounded by Katagiri's group.
"Shit! These dudes won't let up." Kenji said he dodges one of their punches and counters with a sweep kick. Kenji escapes another assault by a metal pipe.
"Get the little girl! She's the weakest one." one of Katagiri's men declared. Minori took offense to that. Minori's weapon was a blue bucket that she was carrying with her bucket around. She swings her bucket to one of the delinquents and knocks him out. The other delinquents were taken back and formed up a defensive, and then she pulled out something from a pocket.
It was a frying pan. Minori then put her bucket upside down to the frying pan. She poured ingredients into the pan, and she swung the pan upward. One of Katagiri's men was confused about what she had thrown into the sky, and then it formed into three giant pancakes. Three huge pancakes then fall down to Katagiri's men and flatten them.
"Oh god! It hurts." one of them said in agony. The pancake that had fallen came back to its original size and went back to Minori's backpack.
"Yay, I've beaten them." Minori was happy.
"Minori-chan. Behind you!" Kenji yelled out, and Minori was still unaware that one of the delinquents was behind her. Before the delinquent managed to do anything, a couple shurikens were thrown and hit the delinquent on the left arm. The delinquent that tried to attack Minori fell down, growling in pain.
"Hey, who the hell let Frontier in our territory? Boys, Attack!" The Chronicles members started to flood the battlefield, and the Katagiri's men were overwhelmed. Some of them still fought on as long as they could, but it is futile. The others were grouped up in a circle as well, Katagiri saw the situation, and he felt that he already did enough to get their intention.
"Huh? Alright, guys! It's time to go home." Katagiri ordered his men. The men started smiling as they threw smoke bombs to the floor. The gas expanded, covering everyone's field of vision, and the shinobi's of the Frontier Frontals started to withdraw from Gessen school while Katagiri was walking casually through the smoke. Exiting the smoke, he still casually walks towards the exit until he sees Kenji blocking his way. Kenji pulls out his metal bat, getting ready for a fight, but Kenji moves out of the way.
Kenji took it with surprise. A well-trained shinobi would use this as an advantage and attack the enemy, yet Kenji did not do it. Katagiri slowly walked towards the exit until he was side to side with Kenji.
"Showing pity against your enemy?" Katagiri asked Kenji. Kenji smirked and stopped his intruder from leaving.
"Nah, we can fight another day. My name is Kenji, 1st year of Gessen. Pretty ballsy to attack around this part of the area. If you ever attack us again, I'll make sure you don't set a single step in Gessen." Kenji warned. Katagiri scoffs off the threat, and he swings his bat but stops a bit around at the top of Kenji's head.
"1st year of Frontier Frontal, "Psycho Bat" Katagiri. You better not lose to anyone before I beat you. You got that?" Katagiri smiled as well as Kenji. Feeling satisfied, Katagiri then walks away from the school with a huge grin. Kenji is the same as well. He might find someone that entices him to do better. These two will one day become the pillars of their respective faction shortly.
From a distance, a biker was looking at the vicinity of the chaos. His face was concealed with a helmet, and wearing a black vest. The biker then leaves the area, and on the back of the vest, there is an emblem of a black meteor falling with white flames surrounding the meteor. Under the meteor, a letter is written in white, "Meteor Unit."

Gessen students were worried and angry about how those from the Frontier could actually attack them out of nowhere. Some even blamed Naoki for this predicament, but they heard that the Frontier managed to slip from the blindspot of Gessen's surveillance around their area. Two leaders of their group, Naoki and Kota, were staring at each other as both of them were still discussing why Frontier decided to move. Frontiers were very secluded and sometimes downright vicious in battle, but they never knew where the Frontiers were located. The last known location of the Frontier was Asakusa, one of the districts in Tokyo.
"Kota-san, we have surveyed the perimeter around our area. Frontier managed to slip under our noses, but we managed to find out that the group leader is none other than "Psycho Bat" Katagiri." one of the henchmen under Kota informed. Although Naoki didn't care about who it was, Kota has heard about Katagiri before. Katagiri has a knack for attacking random schools during his middle school days, so his attack on Gessen seems understandable. The main concern is surveillance. How did they manage to pass a number of their shinobi? This information worries Kota because they are the perfect meal for those united through the bickering between the two.
"Alright. Keep me posted if anything happens." Kota replied as the henchman bowed and left the room.
"It seems we're not also dealing with Frontier as well. It seems we are dealing with something in our area that we don't know about." Naoki concluded, and Kota nodded to his statement.
"Yes. We need to find out how the scouts that have been dispatched from Gessen did not report on the attack. Something's fishy about all of this, and I don't like it one bit."
"Right now, I will recuperate my strength, and I will hammer those who attack Gessen into submission. If there is nothing else, I will get going now." Naoki gets up from his chair.
"Naoki, You better solve this matter. This might boost your appeal to the other students, so they recognized you as a leader." Kota suggested. Naoki was puzzled by Kota's action by giving him tips rather than keeping that advantage to himself.
"Why are you helping me? I thought you opposed me being a leader." Naoki asked his former friend.
"I told you, those who despise you are gone now, and my gang is the only thing that is keeping you from uniting Chronicle. The you that is in front of me is not ready to take up the mantle of leader. I hope my explanation is clear for you." Kota expresses his feelings about Naoki's character. Naoki just stays silent about it and leaves the room altogether.
"He's getting worse and worse after Kurokage's death. Kurokage-san. If you were still alive, what would you do in this situation?"

Naoki was standing near an entrance to the graveyard. This place is where Kurokage laid to rest. Everyone attended the funeral of Kurokage except for Naoki. Naoki felt a bit of guilt, and the no-show of the funeral hurt his credibility, even more, saying that he has no heart at all and ungrateful to the man who taught him the ways of the shinobi.
"Kurokage. I'm not worthy of visiting you right now. I'm sorry" Naoki starts to walk away from the scene until he sees Yumi, who was walking towards him. She was surprised that Naoki was near the vicinity of the entrance. Naoki wanted to say something to her, but he refused to say anything and just kept on walking past Yumi, who was just as silent as he is.
Yumi didn't say anything, but she knew why he was here to pay his respects to his teacher, but a sense of guilt may cause Naoki to be cold towards people. Kurokage never did reach out for reinforcement against Hanzo, and even if he did, it would still not be enough to fight against Hanzo.
"Yumi." he called out.
"Naoki-san. What is it?" She replied.
"Did the old man pass on with a smile?" he asked while he turned to see her face. Yumi nodded, and Naoki put up a soft smile.
"I've been trained by a legendary shinobi that even rivals Hanzo. Compared to him, I am a total disgrace to him. Hated and probably uncaring person in the world." He boasted of his negative aspect, which made Yumi uncomfortable.
"And yet, he chose me when everyone was against it."
"He saw a potential in you, Naoki-san. Grandfather is always watching out for you and all of us the best way he could. Whatever Kurokage made this decision by his will or not, he chose you regardless of much opposition." Yumi predicted.
"Yumi. Do you think a heartless bastard like me deserves another chance to change?" he asked the granddaughter of Kurokage this question.
"To me, it's not too late to change yourself to being a better person," Yumi responded, and Naoki was relieved that she would say that.
The noise of someone falling down from the stairs quickly ends the conversation as both promptly went to the stairs to see the boy who wore the black sukajan had fallen from the stairs. Naoki was worried about why he was here. Yumi and Naoki quickly went to his aid and saw if anything was injured.
"Are you okay?" Yumi asked the boy as he was still in pain, but the boy looked at Yumi, and his heart was awestruck. It was as if he was in heaven for some reason.
"Hey. Did I die? Are you an angel that comes to take me to heaven? The Sukajan boy asked dramatically. Yumi was confused while Naoki lightly slapped him, hoping that he wasn't hallucinating.
"Far from the truth, buddy." Naoki answered, and the Sukajan boy was dumbstruck by this revelation.
"Ah, I see. The beautiful girl that I saw now turned into a man. This is not the angel but the devil." the sukajan boy said with such an ungrateful tone. Hearing this, Naoki tried to comically choke him as well as the sukajan boy doing the same. Yumi quickly tries to separate the both of them.

(10 Minutes Later)
"Shindo?"
"Yeah. My name is Shindo. I just came to the city yesterday."
Yumi and the sukajan boy were sitting down on the chair near the vending machine as Naoki bought three of them some drinks. Naoki brought drinks for both of them as well as for him.
"So why are you here, and how did you find this place?" Yumi asked.
"Well, it was because of you," Shindo answered that Yumi and Naoki were confused about what he was saying.
"When I saw you, my heart was quickly drawn by your beauty, so I decided to follow you until this very spot. When I walked up the stairs, I slipped from a banana peel and fell from grace."
"This happened before, so I don't blame you for it. Hell, I even have the same experience myself." Naoki is in the same boat as Shindo.
"I see, but if you wanted to ask me on a date, I'm not really interested in having any relationship," Yumi answered, to which Shindo laughs a bit.
"Thanks for the heads up, but man, I got rejected again. this is not looking good for my cool student resume."
"Are you a student?" Naoki asked, and Shindo was.
"No. I dropped out of middle school when I was in my third year ." Shindo explains.
"What happened during your time in your previous school?" Yumi asked curiously. Shindo looks to the ground.
"I got transferred a lot during my middle school years. Different schools, different environments, but the assholes are always the same."
"Assholes?" Yumi was curious.
"Corrupt teachers who used his power to lay his point of view harshly, overproud students who are insecure about themselves, Principals who berated the most talked-about kid in school, which is me. Those types of assholes. Guh! Those kinds of people piss me off." Shindo
"I see. You must have it rough, Shindo-san." Naoki agrees with Shindo.
"Even so, there is no way that all of it is bad. Right?" Yumi asked, and Shindo just laughed at her.
"There are other people who are the same as me. Being called the waste of oxygen and human garbage of society. We don't care what people think of us. We fight, we survive, and we don't take shit from everyone. Those waste of oxygens are the best people that I have encountered." Shindo smiles, remembering all those memories that he had, and he was happy with them. Both Naoki and Yumi are glad that Shindo did not lose his way to despair.
"Oh yeah, I almost forgot." Shindo pulled out a notebook containing the address to somewhere in the city and presented it to both of them. Naoki and Yumi take a look at the address. After further inspection, Yumi then notices something about this address.
"I know this address." Yumi realized. Shindo's eyes light up hearing those words. He asked people around here about the direction of this address, but no one willing to give him advice or straight up ignore him.
"Really? Can you take me there?" Shindo asked, and Yumi nodded.
The three of them leave the place as they head to the address. Little did two Gessen students know that behind the scene, there is an evil root that plunged Gessen into a battle and Naoki's first test of being a leader of Chronicle. Meeting Shindo is just a trigger to something more prominent on the horizon.
