The North American Survivors:
South America:
After a week of rest, the island took a month to move towards North America. We hit the Southern American countries first, picking up everyone that was still alive. And surprising enough there were actually a lot of people that had managed to survive. Those that had been in isolation had moved to the interior of the island and were settling into their new lives. The people that had been part of the ARC had decided to live on the cargo ship that contained all of their electronic equipment. The animals were moved with the people and introduced to the local wildlife, well except the Draconian Lizard that was too dangerous to live with the rest of the animals. She was secluded from the rest, but Abby tended to her and the other animals all alike. A zoo of sorts was being built to house all of the exotic animals that now roamed the island, well the interior of the island. The coastline was still the strongholds for those that were to be isolated for a month to be sure that they hadn't been infected. Only a few people from each coast line had been deemed unfit to live with the people on the island and had been removed Australia, which was the closest land mass to the island besides Antarctica. There was no need to infest Antarctica when most of the oceans animals were fleeing to its waters to stay safe from a virus that could infect all animals. Did I forget to mention that we had liberated a bunch of zoo animals and that they were now living on the island, oops. Anyways, back to rescuing.
I climbed onto Drago's back shortly after the island came to a halt. The rest of the dragons grabbed their shipping containers with a few military personnel on them. Capt. Becker and Matt were the only members of the ARC team that had been allowed to ride dragons as the dragons they were riding had allowed them to climb on and ride so to speak. Others would get that chance in the future but for now, I needed military personnel that would be able to help with the rescuing of the rest of the Earth's population. We headed for South America and started some small talk. Since many of the military personnel had radios, we were using them to communicate but were making sure that we had enough battery power to do so. The radios would also give us a way to communicate when the dragons split up with their new riders to scour the land for any survivors. And that's exactly what we did. Drago and I split from the rest of the group with fifty dragons while Matt split on his dragon which he had named Colya with thirty dragons and Capt. Becker split with his dragon which he had named Ployon with twenty dragons.
We went in separate directions and by the time we met back up two days later, we had collected a surprising amount of survivors. Nearly half the population in the whole of South America had headed into the hills where the Militia had been hiding out and hunkered down in fortified villages that they had built up. The Walkers hardly strayed from the main cities so it was easy to stay hidden unless they needed medicine and then they would have to make a run into one of the many cities that dotted the landscape. We all headed back to the island and dropped off the people on the Southern and Eastern Coastlines. They were told that they would stay in isolation for a month to make sure that they weren't infected but then would be let out to move to the interior of the island to live with the rest of the folk that had been rescued.
Canada:
The island moved once more to sit on the West Coast of the United States. It would not move again until we were ready to pick up people from the East Coast. We hit Canada first before we would move on to the states that weren't connected to the United States, like Alaska and Hawaii. Being on the West Coast, we hit the westerly cities first and picked up those that were still alive, which was few. Most of the westerly and middle cities had all been vacated and those that were alive were living in the worst conditions that we had come across. The people in the westerly and middle provinces and cities had fled north to the mountains and the tundra that covered the northern part of Canada.
