Luna was waving to everyone in the audience. Tonks was walking into the arena.
"Wotcher, Luna. You can call me Tonks, because I hate my first name. I'll be the one giving you your exam."
"Hello, Tonks. You can call me Luna, because I am."

"How fascinating," Luna said, "It isn't often you see an aye-aye represented in media. I play the spell Pot of Greed. Next I play the field spell Closer Forest."
Several large twisted trees grew around the field.
"I also play the continuous spell Spiritual Forest."
Several large, glowing, mushroom-like trees now towered on the field.
"I summon Rescue Rabbit."

"Isn't it magnificent?"
"It certainly is!" Hagrid, piped up.
"Hagrid, sit down," McGonagall ordered.
Luna waved at Hagrid, and then turned back to Tonks, "Next I'm going to Overlay my other Gazelle with my Dark Zebra to Xyz summon Numbers 44: White Winged Horse - Sky Pegasus."

Tonks thought about it, "I'll pay."

One energy orb shot towards the Aye-Iron, but then dissipated.
"I almost forgot to mention, thanks to my Closer Forest, all Beast-type monsters I control gain 100 attack for each monster in my graveyard. You also can't activate any field spell cards. I currently have three monsters in my graveyard, so that's 300 attack."

The beast pounced on the robot lemur.

"I'll have my Zenmaine attack your Pegasus."
The robot slammed its hand into the Pegasus. The beast shook itself and flew back into place.

"I see...well, normally during the end phase, the monster I powered up with Over Wrench would return to my hand, but I activate my other trap Spiral-Style Spring. I tribute one Mainspring monster with 1500 or more attack. Now I can special summon one Mainspring monster from my hand, and then I can special summon one Mainspring monster from my deck with the same attack as the first monster. So from my hand I summon Mainspring Soldier..."

The toy soldier now knelt on the field, as did the rat.
"Next I'll play the spell Overwound Spring to special summon a Mainspring monster from my graveyard in defense position. I choose my Mainspring Dog."
The dog was now laying on the field.
"I activate the effect of my Soldier to increase its level by 1 and its attack by 400."

"Oh dear," Luna said, "This might not end well."
"I detach one Xyz material from Zenmaio to target two of your set cards on the field and destroy them. I pick your Pegasus and your Phantom Beast."
An energy ball shot at the two beasts and sent them to the graveyard.
"How very clever. My forest doesn't work if my monsters are destroyed by effect."
"Zenmaio will attack your remaining face-down monster."
A white wolf adorned with pieces of silver and gold armor crouched on the field.

As the wolf was sent to the graveyard, a blinding light shot out from its body. Zenmaio was consumed and also sent to the graveyard.

"I'll set another monster and end my turn."
"I activate my trap Spring Rewind. I target one level 4 or lower Mainspring monster I control, it returns to my hand, and then special summon one Mainspring monster from my hand with the same level. Mainspring Rat goes back to my hand, and here comes Mainspring Hunter."

The tiger suddenly disappeared.
"Now my Hunter will attack your other face-down monster."
The Hunter fired its crossbow at the target, when at that moment, a green arm ending in a boxing glove punched the arrow back at the Hunter.

The Hunter fell apart.
"That is a funny coincidence. All I can do is end my turn."
"It seems I must try something else. I activate Pot of Avarice. I shuffle five monsters in my graveyard into my deck, and then draw two cards. I tribute my Death Kangaroo to summon Animal King Behemoth."

An enormous purple, quadrupedal beast stomped onto the field. It had a wide mouth full of sharp teeth, a pair of bull horns, and a long tail.
"This monster may be level 7, but it can be normal summoned with only one tribute. In that case, its attack becomes 2000."

"Now I'll activate my spell Ayers Rock Sunrise. I target one Beast monster in my graveyard and special summon it. Welcome back, Dark Zebra."
The zebra galloped back onto the field, and Tonks gave a shudder.
"If I do that, then all face-up monsters you control lose 200 attack for each Beast, Plant, and Winged Beast monster in my graveyard until the end of the turn. I have five Beasts in my graveyard at the moment, so that's 1000 attack."

"And of course, thanks to my Closer Forest, since I still have five monsters in my graveyard, my Beasts gain 500 attack."

"My Behemoth will now attack your Juggler."
The great beast raised one of its massive paws and smacked the toy across the field.

"My Juggler now destroys your Behemoth with its effect."
The Behemoth collapsed to the ground and faded away.
"Aw, and he was such a wonderful sight to behold. I knew it had to happen, but still...Dark Zebra, avenge our fallen friend and attack her Zenmaighty."
The zebra charged at the carrier, leapt into the air, and rammed its horn into the hull. The carrier was shattered."

Tonks walked over and shook Luna's hand.
"I got a bit careless there, but you definitely earned your win. You have a good Poker face."
"Thank you very much. You were one of my tougher opponents. I hope we can do this again."
Luna skipped off the playing field.
"Well look at that," Ron said, "She really did it."
"I knew she would," Neville said.
"I didn't know what to expect," Hermione said.
"She was a lot better than I expected," Harry said.
Several more names were called out, but after a while, it was finally time.
"...Weasley, Ginevra..."
"Here she comes," Fred and George announced.
The opponents seemed to be discussing who would challenge Ginny. After about a minute, Percy was now walking towards the arena.
