I wrote these little oneshots over a year ago on my Twitter, I just remembered about them and thought I should write them into a little mini Series of Peter stalking Erik and Charles in Paris.
It's like silly stuff, but it was fun thinking up the ideas for them. I'm not sure how many chapters I'll do since I only wrote three of them, but I'm guessing I could turn them into some Dadneto times.
-X Men doesn't belong to me.
-I'm sad we never got any Dadneto - I rewrote Dark Phoenix, I made Peter Maximoff part of it.
- In my world Erik knows Peter is his Son - It's called The Train Wrack Of Truth.
Stay safe and Enjoy
Chapter Three!
Meanwhile in Paris.
sending video tapes and postcards back to Xaviers School for the last week now, the students enjoyed receiving them. He had also sent souvenirs and boxes of Belgium chocolates back to the school, he had already planned it all out before he had started his little stalking adventure in Paris. He kept the video tapes he had recorded of Erik and Charles to himself though, he just sent the students random video tapes of different cities around Europe he had filmed to throw them off his stalking scent.
Peter had been returning to his Mom's house like he had promised, she was happy every time he turned up on her doorstep with something fancy from his travels. His Mom had many questions for him, she wanted to make sure he was doing okay. She didn't approve of what he was doing in Paris, she had tried to encourage him to at least speak to Erik instead of following him around like lost puppy. But Peter wouldn't listen to her, he was kind of scared to confront him again even though Erik had acknowledged his existence and wanted to build a relationship with him.
It was now the afternoon in the most romantic city in the world, the day was bright and pleasent. Peter had followed Erik and Charles to a canal, it was called Canal Saint-Martin. The setting was peaceful, there were trees lining the street near the pathway and metal bridges over the canal. Groups of people were picnicking near the canal's edge and one man was taking photographs of the passing barges, the placed seemed like a great place to relax.
Peter was sitting behind an tree, leaning his back against the tree he opened a twinkie and devoured it whole. He was having a quick break, he needed to bring up his energy levels before he started stalking Charles and Erik once again. He had already seen them in this area about an hour ago, they had stopped for a coffee and a quick game of chess by the canal. There was a flat step area near the canal's edge, it was a nice place to sit and read a book.
Peering from behind the tree Peter soon noticed his Father with Charles, they were deep in conversation. The Professor was wheeling himself next to Erik, they looked comfortable in each others company. Peter got onto his knees and turned his video camera on before he poked it through a gap in a metal fence, he soon zoomed in on his Father. He had no idea what they were talking about, he was curious about their conversation. He wanted to get closer, he put his video camera in his backpack before he pulled his goggles over his eyes.
Time slowed down for Peter, the world around him was slow moving and silent. There were four pigeons in mid flight near a sidewalk and a dog was frozen into one place with his leg cocked up against a man's leg, he could even see one man slow falling from the canal's edge. Smirking to himself Peter zoomed forward, he dodged a few people on the sidewalk and took a cheeseburger from a fast food restaurant's employee's hand. He made his way along the street and zoomed down a pathway that lead to the canal area, he soon stopped behind a large tree. Pulling his goggles away from his eyes time returned to its normal pace, the first thing Peter heard was the man falling into the canal.
A dorky laugh escaped his lips while he unwrapped his cheeseburger, the scent of cheese and ketchup soon caught his attention. He pulled the tomato from the burger bun and threw it towards the pathway, he wasn't a fan of tomatoes. Taking a bite of his cheeseburger he took his video camera from his backpack, he then peering from behind the tree and started filming again. But this time he got a shock of his life, standing right in front of his video camera was Erik.
" Peter, is that you?" Erik asked.
Peter dared not move, he had been caught. He couldn't believe it, he thought he had been careful. He quickly hid his video camera behind his back and tried to act cool, he didn't know what to do or say. Erik's gaze soon lowered towards the ground between them, it seemed like some of Peter's cheeseburger hadn't fallen onto his clean shoes. He used his speedy ability and wiped the ketchup away from his Father's shoe, he was soon playfully waving the napkin at Erik with a dorky smile on his face.
" What are you doing here?" Erik asked, he made eye contact with his Son. " I'm guessing this wasn't a planned encounter."
" I can explain everything!" Peter replied.
" Then explain." Erik said.
Peter awkwardly cleared his throat before he took another bite of his cheeseburger, he had to think of an excuse. Many thoughts ran through his mind, he had many explanations and excuses. All of them sounded far fetched and bizarre, especially his idea about a European scavenger hunt for candy bars. He no other choice but to lie to his Father, he didn't want to do it though. He opened his mouth to say something to Erik, but Charles soon interrupted them. The Professor smiled at Peter while he wheeled himself towards them, he was happy to see one of his friends from the X Mansion. But the Professor's smile soon faded, it was replaced with a look of concern.
" Peter, why are you here?" Charles asked, his speaking time was serious. " Is everything alright at the school? Hank and the others, are they well?"
" The school is fine, I'm just..." Peter replied before he paused for a moment. " I'm just having a day out in Paris, it's fine. Hank knows about it, he said I could have a short vacation. I've travelled all around Europe, it's been educational."
" But why Paris?" Erik asked.
Peter stared at Erik for a brief moment, he had thought by saying he was on a short vacation that they would just leave their accidental meeting as a coincidence. But Peter's gaze soon wandered over to Charles, he could feel his eyes on him. He knew that the Professor maybe trying to read his thoughts, he had no other option but to confess to them why he was really here.
" Okay you got me, I'm stalking you guys!" Peter said.
" A terrible joke as always, it's nice to see you again." Charles smiled, but his soon smile faded when he read Peter's mind. " Wait, you really are stalking us..."
" Yeah, sorry." Peter said.
Peter took his video camera from behind his back, he explained to them both about why he had come to Paris in the first place. He told Charles that he wanted to speak to him about his relationship with Erik, but after he saw Erik with Charles outside of the cafe a few days he got nervous. He had no idea what had come over him, he had been too scared to approach them and his behaviour after that just got out of hand. Peter had been impulsive, he sometimes had boundary issues.
" Peter, there was no need for this kind of behaviour." Charles said, he smiled at him. " You could have spoken to me about this matter, I'm always here for you. In fact we knew you were here, I heard your thoughts days ago when you followed us to the theatre."
" Wait, what?!" Peter asked.
" It's true, I found one of your band buttons. You made a mess in my hotel room, but may I ask where the seagull came from?" Erik asked, there was amusement in his speaking tone. " Am I that fearsome to approach?"
" Seagull?" Peter asked.
" Also your thoughts were quite amusing about there being no popcorn and soda at The Opéra Bastille." Charles said with a chuckle. " You should have approached us, you would be more than welcome to join us at the Opera."
" Wait..." Peter said while he pointed his index finger towards the Professor. " Why aren't you appalled at my behaviour? What's going on here? Why are you laughing?"
" We are appalled, but it's highly amusing my friend." Charles replied.
Peter raised an eyebrow at his Father and Charles, they were exchanging amused expressions. It wasn't long until Charles told Peter that they were playing a joke on him, they had decided to give him a taste of him own medicine. Erik tucked his hands in his trousers pockets and smiled at his Son, he couldn't help but comment about Peter's sense of humour. He told him he must get his homour from his Mother, the Professor heartily agreed with Erik.
" Why don't you join us, it's an invitation this time." Charles said before he looked at Erik. " What do you say, old friend? Is there room for a little one?"
" I don't see why not." Erik replied, he looked at Peter. " It would be a pleasure to get to know my boy better, but don't bring your video camera with you this time."
" Yes I agree." Charles said. " I'd like to see the contents of those video tapes, we shall talk about it later on when you've got a spare moment."
" Yeah, I mean totally!" Peter said, he unzipped his backpack and put his video camera away. " I'll have to pick them up from my Mom's basement though, I've been staying at her house for the last week."
" You're not staying in Paris?" Erik asked.
" Nope." Peter replied while his grip tightened around his backpack's straps. " I've been travelling back and forth from Washington D.C each day, my Mom worries about me."
" Remarkable." Erik said.
" Are you impressed?" Peter asked.
" Indeed, you have remarkable abilities." Erik replied.
" Thanks." Peter smiled.
" Let's get some tea and continue this conversation, I'm rather parched." Charles said before he wheeled himself away from Erik. " All this excitement is wearing me out, come along Peter."
Erik smiled at Peter before he followed after Charles, they reconnected with the pathway near the canal. Peter moved from behind the tree and quickly followed after them, he soon joined Erik's side. It was the first time Peter had been with Erik in public, he had been dreaming about this moment for nearly two decades. He was now beginning to wish he had just approached them and not acted like an idiot, he had learnt a valuable lesson this day.
