Episode 3: D.I.D
Kayako looks smugly as the teacher walks in the room. "Ha! I'm 1 member away" says Kayako. "If you're referring to Totska, her request form to join your group was denied" says the teacher. "What? You can't sabotage me" says Kayako. "I'm not. It just so happens she was put on a banlist for clubs. Especially ones Takumi is part of" says the teacher. "Huh? Why" asks Kayako. Later that day, Takumi walks down the hallway, and yawns. "Man, I'm so tired today" he says. He stretches, and accidentally hits an angry looking guy. He's got slightly darker skin, with short brown hair, and the school uniform. "Oh, sorry-" starts Takumi. The guy spins around and pushes Takumi to the ground. "Oh, sorry bro. I thought-" he starts. Totska rushes up and grabs the guy's face, and slams him against a locker. "That's my brother" she says angrily. "Totska, calm down" says Takumi. Totska drops the guy. "You okay Taki" asks Totska as she helps him up. "Yeah. I'm more worried about him" says Takumi. "He's fine Taki. Come on, it's almost lunch time and I know your hungry" says Totska. They walk down the hall a bit, and Kayako walks up. "Takumi, we need to talk" says Kayako. "I think we should stay friends" Takumi says jokingly. Kayako crosses her arms. "This is one of those don't joke situations" she says. "What's wrong" asks Totska. "I'm not gonna sugar coat it, I heard" she says. "Of" Totska asks. "Do you really want me to say it in front of Takumi" asks Kayako. Totska puts his headphones in his ears, and holds her hands over them. "Sorry, girl talk Taki"she says as she blares some music. "Creep" says Kayako. "I am not, everyone just has twisted minds" says Totska. "I thought it seemed like you were too close" says Kayako. "We're siblings, and twins. Of course we're close" says Totska. "You were hospitalized for 4 months because of an obsession with your brother" says Kayako. "I know what your thinking, and this isn't some cheesey anime bullcrap. Yes, I love my brother, but I still think it'd be gross for him to be more than that. It's just, I don't know, you wouldn't know how it feels. I think it's a twin thing. Takumi has always been my rock, he was always there, and I felt closer to him than I did anyone else. I admit, I did become...overprotective for a time, but I'm not a creep" says Totska. "If it's not weird, why doesn't he know" asks Kayako. "Oh sure, you explain that everyone thinks your in love with him. Could you imagine how embarrassing that is" asks Totska. "Alright, I guess that makes sense. Sorry for all the weird stuff. It's just, he's my friend, and I wanna make sure he's okay" says Kayako. "He's never going to be unsafe in my hands" says Totska. She uncovers Takumi's ears, and takes out the headphones. "You guys were talking about me weren't you" he asks. "Nope" says Kayako. "Not everything is about you Taki, sheesh" says Totska. "Hey, I was just joking" says Takumi. "Hey wait, random idea. Why don't we do a club meet up at Taki's house tonight, a sleepover" says Totska. "Sure, you haven't spent the night since mom had me get my own place" says Takumi. "I dunno. Seems kind of weird" says Kayako. "Why? You're just one of the guys to me" says Takumi. Kayako smiles. "Alright then, I'm in" she says. Later that night, the 5 stand outside Takumi's front door (as well as Ms. Tamazuchi, without her teachers outfit) as he unlocks the front door. "Uh, did you really have to invite the teacher" asks Kazuchi. "Sure, she's one of us too isn't she" asks Takumi. "I think it's weird your spending your free time with highschoolers at your age" says Kayako. Ms. Tamazuchi conks her on the head, and Takumi opens the door. Inside, the house is spotless, and opens up into a huge living room. "Well, what should we do" asks Yuto. Takumi holds up a controller. "All Warfare: Battleground X. Compatible with up to 8 local players" says Takumi. Ms. Tamazuchi stares off for a moment. "You alright Ms. T" asks Takumi. "Y-Yeah. I just...haven't seen a gun in a long time" she says. "Do you not wanna play" asks Takumi. "Are you kidding? You're going down...once I figure out how to shoot a virtual gun" says Ms. Tamazuchi. "I bet Kazuchi says no" says Kayako. "Screw you. I'll do it, and I'll be damn good" he says. They play, and at the end, Kazuchi looks confident, while Kayako looks stunned. "No way" she says. "Told you I'd be good" he says. "Kazuchi cameron first, Kayako in second, I'm in third, Yuto's in third, Ms. Tamazuchi came in fifth, and sis came in last" says Kazuchi. Ms. Tamazuchi sighs. "Hey Ms. T, don't feel bad. You did alright" says Kazuchi. "Her sensitivity was too high" says Kazuchi. "Since when are you an expert in a game you just played" asks Kayako. "I never said I was new. That's an assumption you made on your own. Sure I don't spend all day playing, but once in a while I test myself" he says. "I never pegged you as the gamer type" says Takumi. "Well, you can't peg everyone with stereotypes or assumptions" says Kazuchi. "Well it's getting pretty late kiddos. It's about time everyone head to bed" says Ms. Tamazuchi. "Hey, that's not fair" says Kayako. "Life ain't fair kid. You've got school and I've got work" she says. "So, who's sleeping where" asks Totska. "I figure I'd take the couch, let Yuto and Kazuchi use my room, and you girls can take the guest room" says Takumi. "No, we can't kick you out of your bed" says Kazuchi. "You aren't. I usually sleep on the couch anyways" says Taki. "It's true. Taki's always been like that" says Totska. "You know, one last thing I want to know before we lay down, why is it always Taki" asks Kayako. "That's a habit shes had since we were kids. When we were real little, that's the closest she could come to saying my actual name. After that, she started using it to tease me a little, and eventually it just became a permanent thing. I don't think I've ever heard her call me Takumi" he says. Everyone heads off to bed, and later that night, Kayako wakes up, and walks out of the room. As she walks down the hallway, she hears a voice coming from the livingroom. She sneaks out, and sees Totska sitting on the couch rubbing Takumi's head. "They're still up" Kayako asks herself. "It's alright Takumi, sissys here again. I won't let anything come between us again (her head snaps towards Kayako). Who are you? Your after my Takumi aren't you" she asks as she gets up and quickly draws a knife. She throws it, and it goes in the wall right beside Kayako's head. "T-Totska! This is not just sisterly love" she says. Totska starts laughing. "Totska's not here. Harua's out to play at night" she says as she pulls out another knife and charges at Kayako. Kayako quickly rushes into the bathroom, and shuts the door. "Diiiiing Dooooong. Coooome out little home wrecker. I don't wanna hurt you. I just wanna slit your pretty little throat" Totska says as she aggressively slams the knife through the door. Suddenly, there's a huge crash from the livingroom, and through the knife hole, Kayako sees Totska seemingly wake up. "Taki?! Are you okay" she asks as she rushes away. Kayako looks at the door, and takes a sigh of relief. Suddenly, there's a knock on the door and she screams. "M-My apologies! I hadn't noticed the hole, don't worry, I saw nothing" says Yuto. "Yuto! Please, come in. I need to talk to you. Don't worry, I'm not using the restroom" she says. Yuto walks in, and Kayako explains what happened. "Ah I see. Well that seems to be a problem" says Yuto. "I bet that's why she isn't supposed to be around Takumi. I can't believe she had me tricked into thinking it was just a twin thing" says Kayako. "Well, there are a few elements in the story that I believe would be important to think about. First off, she referred to herself as Harua, secondly, she was calling him Takumi, not Taki. Lastly, you said it looked as though she seemingly woke up from a trance. It's highly possible Totska has D.I.D, aka Dissociative Identity Disorder" says Yuto. "I don't care, she tried to kill me tonight" says Kayako. "Totska didn't, Harua did. I wonder if it's natural violence, or merely because she perceived you as a threat" says Yuto. "Hey, don't take her side" says Kayako. "I wasn't aware there were sides to be taken" says Yuto. Suddenly, Totska walks up to the door, and yawns. "Hey, if the bang woke you guys too, don't worry. Taki rolled off the couch. I helped get him back up, and layed some pillows down under him" says Totska. Kayako is shaking like a leaf, and Totska looks at her with genuine concern. "Are you alright? You aren't medicated are you" asks Totska. "N-N-No" says Kayako. "Alright, well, I'm gonna go back to bed. I honestly feel like I haven't slept a wink" she says with a yawn. "She's either a really good liar, or she has no clue about Harua" says Yuto. "We do, and tomorrow morning, I'm telling Takumi. He should know his sister's a psychopath" says Kayako. The next morning, Kayako wakes up, and Totska is overtop of her, pinning her down. She tries to scream, but realizes her mouth is taped shut. "Totska heard you. Takumi can't know. If you wanna live past this morning, I need you to do me that tiny little favor of not telling him. He is my everything, and I won't be taken away from him again" says Harua. Kayako nods. "Good. Now as long as you, and that harlette teacher keep your hands off, we'll be okay. See, not so hard right? Just don't touch what's not yours" Harua says as she lets go and pulls the tape off. "Y-you're psychotic" says Kayako. Harua winks to her, and Totska suddenly slumps over, and crashes to the ground. She snores heavily, and Takumi rushes in. "Totska? Mom says she has a habit of sleep walking. She must have tripped" says Takumi. "...How long has it been since you and Totska lived together" asks Kayako. "Huh? We didn't really. Honestly, we were inseparable until we were...I don't know, I wanna say 9. After that, rumors starter floating around about Totska and me. They weren't true, but mom believed it enough to separate us. I was raised by my aunt, and Totska stayed with mom" says Takumi. Kayako nods. "Why so curious? If you're asking if she's a little clingy, yeah I guess. She's just trying to be a good sister I think" says Takumi. "Yeah...I'm sure that's it" Kayako says as they walk out.
