AN: Changed the story title, because I reconsidered it and deemed "Hail to the Queen" more apt than "Holy Matrimony". Likewise updated on 17/04/2021.

Two years had flown by since the day that Diana had ended the rebellion on Uxanor 4. Things had mostly been mundane, with few uprisings to handle. She had gotten over her fit of boredom with a combat tournament in sector 1454.

The biggest event was the discovery of a new galaxy in sector 2078. Diana set out for a new adventure, which turned into five months of war. Only the planets Kozeron and Monia had warriors that interested her to fight during this campaign. In the here and now, however, Diana was in one of the palace's living rooms.

"A question occurred to me recently," Diana said. "What exactly can the Omega Effect do? I've seen those beams change direction, disintegrate people, and recreate them, but what else?" As soon as she finished, she got a feeling of déjà vu.

"It is simpler than a set of functions," Darkseid informed her. "The Omega Effect serves to realize my will. It can do anything I want it to, limited only by its generated energy."

"I see," Diana said, a grin breaking out. "Is it possible that I too can have the Omega Effect somehow?"

"It is," Darkseid said sternly, raising his open hand. "I need only imagine a ball of light that holds another Omega Effect." A ball of white light rose from his palm.

Diana looked appreciatively at the ball, wrapping her hand around it. Opening her hand again, she found it absent. Silence reigned between them, for half a minute.

"Is there anything else to this?" Diana asked, almost surprised by the ease of it.

Darkseid gave her an amused look. "Were you expecting to writhe on the floor as the Omega Effect joined with you?"

Diana smiled. "Something dramatic like that, yes," she replied, her face turning pensive. "Anyway, is there anything else I should know about it?"

"The Omega Effect generates its own energy, Diana, so you should let it build for now," Darkseid advised. "And of course, moderate use helps for the normal reason."

"Practical as always," Diana remarked jovially. "I figured that was why you didn't use it for everything."

"Indeed," Darkseid confirmed, wondering if the conversation needed to continue.

Diana smiled. She felt a heat building inside her. "I promise you won't regret this."

The Vega System was the most heavily populated in space sector 2828, with many inhabited worlds like Tamaran and Changralyn. It had a reputation for producing mighty warriors. Like the rest of the Milky Way, its planets were currently under Apokolips' control.

A battle was currently underway on Tamaran, atop a plateau and under an orange sky. Diana was surrounded by the planet's nine finest warriors, wearing her usual red-and-gold top and blue skirt ensemble today.

"Finished?" Diana demanded to know. The first response she got was little more than a whimper from a warrior lying left of Diana clutching her broken arm.

A second warrior responded. This one was more articulate. "There is no need to continue! You have won," so said the warrior behind her. in a similar injured state.

"Very well," Diana said indifferently. Turning away, she walked over to the servant and extended her hand without a word, and he returned the Mother Box.

She looked upon it for a moment, pondering where to go. "Which worlds have not been recently checked in on? Kalibak visited Astonia last week. Perhaps the Graxos system? Dominion?"

Diana decided after a moment's consideration and raised the device. "Take me to the imperial building on Talos." The Boom Tube opened, accompanied by the usual sound.

On the other side, a blue sky and red sun met her eyes. A dark-blue meadow unfolded before her, a paved pathway crossing the middle out to a city street where the people of the late Mongul's species were going about their day. Only a few noticed her, uneasy about her presence. However, one burly character watched her with interest from a penthouse.

She turned around and saw a silvery pyramid. The building's surface was glassy and bright with reflected sunlight. A great number of triangle-shaped windows gave glimpses into its many floors.

The front door soon opened, and a young Talosian not half Mongul's size emerged.

"Goodbye, Lady Diana," he greeted flatly, hoping his Apokoliptian was right. "I take it that you are here for business?"

"Just a routine check," Diana answered, deciding to let the word pass. "Has there been any trouble since I was last here?"

"As it happens, yes," the servant replied. "We had a rebellion a few weeks ago which we managed to silence. The leader and a few others escaped, but we'll track him down in due—" He stopped himself, nervousness filling his eyes.

Diana heard stomping footsteps behind her and turned to see a particularly burly Talosian.

"I assume this is your rebel leader?" she asked, facetiously.

The servant confirmed it.

Harna began to speak but found his words dying in his throat. Pain accompanied his next breath and his first words were little more than squeaks and gasps. Looking down, he saw an arm embedded in his gut. Diana had charged him in the blink of an eye, impaling him with her bare fist.

Diana withdrew her arm, green blood spurting from the wound. Harna stumbled back and fell, then clutched his raw stomach. She watched him expectantly for a moment, then frowned.

"H-how did...?" Harna managed to stammer out. "How... he showed me past battles. You shouldn't be able..." Pain won out at that part.

"That might have been true once, but as you can tell, my strength and speed have grown," Diana answered, folding her arms. "But let us discuss your situation. If you swear loyalty, I can have you healed."

Harna breathed. "Never."

Diana's eyes lit up with golden, burning light. The Omega Beams launched, disintegrating him on contact in a moment of pure pain.

She turned back to the servant. "I believe this will settle your rebellion."

The servant took a moment to compose himself. "Yes, quite. Anyway, aren't you concerned about this watcher he mentioned?"

"No. We get spies infrequently back on Apokolips, and that's likely all this is," Diana related.
