Hello hello!

I hope everyone's ready for another chapter. If not, too bad it's happening anyway.

Chapter 3: Tomorrow

Kenna POV

"Are you serious!" I yelled out as I spun around to stare in disbelief.

Everywhere I looked there was either dead patches of grass or overgrown vines that creeped over certain areas on the walk way. The fountain was nearly dried up with a small puddle of brown water at the bottom and covered in bird droppings and some weird looking moss.

"What the hell Demetri! You were put in charge of the maintenance. When was the last time you came up here?!"

"Ahem, well...I was taking care of it after the last gardener...stopped. After about 8 years of taking care of everything I realized there was no point since no one ever came up here so I...just...stopped?" Was his response while turning slightly away from me, avoiding eye contact.

"You're helping me clean this place up." I said while glaring at his guilty looking appearance.

"I thought you would enjoy working here alone. You know without any disturbances, no distractions-"

"If you don't want to help that's fine." Was my response, looking at him from the corner of my eye, watching his expression brighten at my words thinking he was getting out of work. "I'll just ask Aro to see if anyone can help me out with all this overgrowth that was neglected by whoever was in charge of it." I finished hiding my smirk as Demetri flinched at my words.

"You know, I think it would be better if I cleaned the fountain and took care of the over growth so you have a fresh area to start with. What do you think?" He asked with the tiniest hint of worry in his voice.

"That sounds wonderful. Thank you so much for being so considerate." I said with a sickly sweet smile as I brushed off the dead leaves on the nearby stone bench and sat down opening up a gardening book I was given for beginners.

"Anything for the lovely lady." Demetri said with a tight smile that twitched ever so slightly. Turning away he grumbled under his breath, "Blackmailing piece of-"

"What was that?" I said, cutting him off mid-rant with a sharp glare.

"I was just saying how honored I am that you gave me this opportunity to correct my mistakes my lady." Was his quick response, bowing slightly with a butlers smile.

"Good. Now, less talky more cleaning." I responded, crossing my left leg over my right and opening my book.

"Americans."

6 Months Later - Third Person POV

"Report." Aro Commanded.

"Sir, Kenna has improved since she started taking care of the garden. She's even started walking around the city without any prompting from me. I've made sure either myself or Felix escorts her on those trips and she and Heidi have started conversing as well. It looks like they are planning a shopping trip for when the weather allows it. There are still moments when she slips into depression when she is alone in her room too long but I truly believe the worst has passed."

Aro's response was to simply hold out his hand in an unspoken command. Stepping forward Demetri extended his hand and placed it lightly into his kings outstretched palm. After a few moments of silence Aro released him and stepped back to his brothers sides dismissing the tracker. After he left the thrown room and his steps were no longer hear they kings began to converse.

"This is a good sign brother. Maybe now you can go to her." Caius suggested.

While waiting for his response both Aro and Caius shared a look. They both were getting anxious as there brother grew more quiet and withdrawn. If it was not Kenna they were discussing he would just hold out his hand for Aro and stay unmoving and silent in his chair. While their age gave them the benefit of not having to feed as often as others so their guards never noticed but the Marcus' brothers were growing concerned as he had not been feeding as often as he used to.

After a full minute he finally responded. "She's not ready." Was all he said.

"For gods sake brother, you're wasting away! You can not go on like this anymore!" Caius yelled.

"No." Was Marcus' response.

"You-!" Caius began, standing from his chair ready to begin the same fight they always seemed to have these days.

"Brother enough!" Aro yelled, silencing his angry brother. "Let me try." He said calmly, waiting until his blond brother sat back down scowling slightly.

Turning to his statue of a brother Aro sighed and stood, walking to Marcus' side at a humans pace while he thought of what to say. After placing his hand on top of his brothers Aro began to speak.

"Just hear me out first brother. I know she is not ready for a mate and I do not wish to force a relationship between you two but Caius does have a point. You cannot continue as you are. I'm worried you are beginning to give up brother and we all need you. We swore to stay by each others sides until the day we burn and it's clear to all three of us that you would sooner let yourself die than extend any effort in surviving." Aro paused slightly as he saw his brothers eyes turn from him and to the side in guilt, knowing Aro was speaking the truth.

"You too have a point my dear brother. She is not ready to be courted now. Her heart is still fragile... but she does need a friend. Yes she has Demetri and Felix but you know Felix has the emotional compacity of a stone wall and Demetri is rarely serious enough to be the support she needs not know that she has gotten herself of of the hole she once wallowed in. I am well aware I don't need to explain to you why Heidi would not be ideal. We don't need another woman spending money on useless things." Aro said with a smirk. "She needs you to be there now. Not as a lover, but as a friend. She has come as far as she can now with those she has around her. However, for her to truly heal she needs someone to share her feelings of loss with and I can think of no one better than you brother." Aro finished, staring pleadingly into his old friends eyes.

The room was deathly silent as they 2 kings waited for there brothers response. After a few more moments Aro stepped away from his brother with a small relieved smile on his face. Caius looked from Aro and Marcus, hopeful and eager for the result to be explained.

Marcus turn to look at his brothers and sighed before speaking one more time. "Tomorrow."

But brothers looked relieved and as if a weight had been lifted off their shoulders. Looking at each other once more Aro and Caius both went back to their thrones and sat hopeful that things would get better for their brother from now on.

Sorry for the delay everybody. I know this one is pretty short but the next chapter they'll finally get to meet!
