Three: Mother's Day Preparation
On Asgard, Mother's Day was one of the very few occasions which were celebrated that we're similar to that of Midgard.
The day before Mother's Day, eight year old Loki dragged the heavy eleven year old Thor to his room after eating breakfast.
"Brother! I wasn't over with my breakfast," Exclaimed Thor, whining.
"There was literally nothing but crumbs left on your plate Thor," Loki pointed out, rolling his eyes.
"Still," pouted Thor, "Why did you drag me here?"
"Don't you remember what tomorrow is," questioned Loki.
"Um, my birthday," asked Thor completely oblivious.
Loki face palmed, "It's mother's day! Not everyday is your birthday!"
"Oh," Thor made the face of realisation and that just made Loki roll his eyes.
How can my older brother be so stupid and ignorant? Thought Loki.
"So what are we doing," questioned Thor cheerfully.
Loki smiled at his brother and then said, "I am glad you asked.
"Are these enough," questioned Thor, his hands completely filled with each and every type of colours and crayons, scissors, stickers, coloured papers and other art stationary.
Loki's eyes widened at the amount of stationary Thor was carrying, "Brother, when I asked for stationary, I didn't meant for you to bring an entire shop. That's more than enough."
The two brothers then took all the things they needed and started making individual cards for their mother.
Loki despite being the younger one, had a much more elegant card. He drew a picture of Frigga, which was too good for his age, with proper coloring. He wrote "To the best Mother in all of Nine Realms, Happy Mother's Day. Love you," in an elegant writting with gold calligraphy pen. His card was properly decorated with the elegant colours of gold and blue.
Thor however, decided to make his card completely rainbow themed. HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY was written in big and bold letters. There was a more childlike drawing of him and Frigga drawn on it, which was coloured messily
Then they took an bigger piece of coloured sheet, making another card for it together. It was the perfect mixture of elegance and childish decoration.
By the time they both had completed it, they were completely colored in paint. So the two took a short shower to get rid of paint and hid their cards under Loki's bed.
"Father, tomorrow is mother's day, can we go outside to pick flowers for mother," asked Thor with puppy dog eyes to his father Odin.
Odin smiled at the two, "Of course son. Both of you can go, take Freniche and Gerlaine with you."
Freniche and Gerlaine were two twin who were also royal guards, and whenever the two young princes had to go anywhere, it was usually those two who would go along with them.
The two little boys beamed, and went to the guards who nodded at their heads at the cute prince's request.
There the two went picking flowers. Loki picked up pink Roses and white Daisies while Thor picked each colour of Roses he could find. Roses were their mother's favourite flower due to its undying beauty
When they went home, Thor made a flower crown with all of his roses while Loki made a flower necklace with it for her.
Next day, they both woke up early (actually Loki woke up early and dragged Thor out of his bed) and baked chocolate chip cookies for their mother with the help of the royal chef, Olica. But they dyed the batter pink and used red coloured chocolate chips.
During the time when their mother would wake up, they both gathered at their parent's chamber. Odin had left to Vanaheim last night for some important work, although it was originally so the boys could spend their time with their mother.
Just as she woke up, the two of them cheered and yelled enthusiastically, "Happy Mother's Day!"
Frigga shook off the little bit of sleep still left in her and smiled at the two, embracing them in a hug.
The entire day then went with the two boys spending all their time with their mother, playing games, studying, riding horeses, telling stories and so on.
