"So Addison said something major had happened but it wasn't her place to say what that was. You know you can call me whenever you need and I would be on the first flight out to see and help you". Derek tells his sister as they sit on the bed in her hotel room.
"Why should you get on a flight out here and stand back and watch how my life has turned into a horror show?". Amelia asks her brother.
"I know this year hasn't being easy for you with Michelle dying and your relapse but I can still support you". Derek tells her putting his arm around her.
"Oh believe me Derek you don't even know the half of what I have being dealing with". Amelia tells her brother as he didn't know about Ryan or her baby.
"Either way I would off jumped on a plane and came out here to help and support you". Derek informs her.
"How could you help and support me I mean I don't think you have ever cried over the dead body of the person you love unless you have gone through that you couldn't off supported me". Amelia fills her brother in on one of the things.
"Amy I'm so sorry I didn't know". Derek replies.
"I know and I was never planning on telling you but since you know that I may as well tell you the rest of that story at least". Amelia tells her brother as she gets a little emotional.
"You don't have too". Derek responds getting emotional for his sister.
"It's ok I know you will ask Addison or Sam if I don't tell you so you should hear it from me". Amelia tells him and they both chuckle a little.
"Ok but if you need to stop you can". Derek replies.
"When I relapsed I met a guy actually my fiancé and after that intervention the team called for me we decided to get clean together he wanted to throw the drugs down the toilet but I suggested one last high anyway the next morning I woke up from this amazing high to find Ryan dead beside me". Amelia tells her brother crying so he pulls her in for a hug.
"Oh my god Amy that must of being awful". Derek replies still trying to come to terms with what his sister had just told him.
"It was but what I recently went through was awful too". Amelia tells him.
"The thing that Addison said wasn't her place to tell me". Derek questions.
"Yes". Amelia replies.
"If you don't want to tell me you don't have too". Derek tells his sister worried for her.
"No it's ok I may as well give you the whole story of why my life is a horror show". Amelia informs her brother.
"Ok then". Derek tells her as he hands her the tissue box.
"Right before Ryan and I got clean our last conversation was about us having kids we decided we wanted to have two boys and two girls so nobody would get lonely well that was Ryan's idea and I agreed". Amelia tells her brother the start of the story.
"You guys were serious about each other then". Derek states to his sister.
"Yeah anyway we its kinda ironic because I got pregnant with his baby but he wasn't able to share any of it with me but at least my son is with his Dad now". Amelia tells him but misses out some major details.
"If you don't mind me asking what happened to your baby did you miscarry?". Derek questions her concerned.
"No my baby had no brain and lived for forty three minutes so no I didn't miscarry". Amelia tells Derek as he pulls her closer to him.
"Oh my god Amy I'm so sorry". Derek says still hugging his sister tightly.
"Thanks now do you understand why my life has turned into a horror show I've lost both Ryan and Christopher within a months of each other". Amelia tells him emotionally.
"You named him Christopher?". Derek questions her.
"Yeah after you he was named after two of my favourite people being you and Ryan". Amelia tells her brother.
"The name is beautiful and I'm honoured to be apart of it". Derek replies.
"I called him my Unicorn Baby because I donated his organs". Amelia fills him in on the name she had given her baby.
"That must of being hard". Derek states to her.
"Yes it was but when my baby kicked for the first time I knew it was what I had to do". Amelia informs her brother of the reasoning behind the choice.
"So this is why you are shutting everyone out?". Derek questions her.
"Yes they don't get what I am facing I mean Addison even has a baby and got him not long after I found out about my baby. So now you understand why I am doing what I am?". Amelia tells and asks him.
"I had no idea Addison had a baby and I get it but I'm sure they want to help you like I do". Derek responds.
"Yeah speaking off you when are you due in Seattle?". Amelia questions him regarding his flight.
"Not for a few hours but I think I'm going to extend my visit". Derek tells his sister of the decision he had made listening to her story.
"I don't want you to do that I don't need the pity". Amelia tells him coming out of the hug.
"How about I don't give you any pity and just spend time with you for a couple of weeks I have leave owing". Derek tells her.
"Ok deal no pity the moment you give me pity your'e on a plane". Amelia replies.
