It was early morning and the sounds of seagulls were making their call, breaking the silence in the cold morning sky.

Jaune woke up due to the cawing of the seagulls and he found himself in his own personal small room. Since he wasn't in a team he didn't have to share a room with three other people, which was a bit of a plus. He grabbed his scroll and opened it to look at the time and saw that it was 6:45, and once he saw the time, he set his scroll on the nearby stand and got up and off the bed, and headed to a nearby table where his clothes and armor had been for the night and he then began to get dressed, he changed out of his white t-shirt and shorts into his Huntsmen uniform.

Speaking of which, before coming to Vacuo he had changed his clothing/Huntsmen gear. He wore a black short-sleeved hoodie with a blue inside and he also wore a pair of dark blue jeans and his black and white shoes. Over the black hoodie was a grey chest plate that covered most of his chest but didn't cover his stomach area, on his forearms were grey metal gauntlets and a pair of fingerless gloves, also, tied around his waist was a blue sash, a gift from his baby sister. Once he was done, he grabbed and strapped Crocea Mors on his waist and he left the room and headed downstairs. He entered the lobby of the small motel and head seen Nebula and May with a tray of food and they saw him as well as he came down the stairs.

"Hey, Jaune!" Nebula greeted

"Sup blondie," May said with a smiled

"Morning" Jaune said "are the others up?" Jaune asked

"Most of them," May said, she then saw that Jaune was already ready to head out "where are you going?"

"Gotta look for those women that have been seen, One of them might be here and I know what they look like, so I thought I'd look around," Jaune told them

"Sure, but you don't wanna eat first?" Nebula asked

"I'll be fine," Jaune said "I'll see you guys later and I'll let you know if I spot any incoming Grimm"

They nodded and Jaune walked out the door and was hit with the bright orange rays of the rising sun. Jaune smiled a little, he had always loved watching the sun both rise and fall when he was a kid, because to him, it was when the day would be it's most beautiful. the bright blue sky would become a purple hue and it would also combine a little with the sinking rays of light that the sun gave of to give it that orange and golden kiss in the sky. Jaune stared at it for a moment and then finally began to patrol the town, and look for other places where guests could stay. The Hotel Manager said there are 4 hotels, 3 inns, and a few abandoned houses. Jaune would look at the inns first while he patrolled. It didn't make sense for someone to hide when in a hotel, that would just raise a lot of eyebrows, and from what Jaune could tell, there weren't a lot of homeless people in the village, and if any of those women were hiding in the houses trying to hide from prying eyes, even that would raise suspicion among the poor.

Inns were his best bet for a number of reasons, Inns weren't hotels and mostly had both huntsmen, thugs, and mercenary's there, and Inns didn't question their customers, all they cared about was if you can pay.

But he still needed to keep his cover as just a normal huntsman, so he would patrol for a certain amount of time before taking a "break" at a nearby inn to get a drink or something. That's all he needed to do, besides, he fought one of these ladies before and handled himself pretty well, he could take on another one at least.

Miria had woke up and got dressed and decided not to wear her black cloak in order to not raise suspicion. With Claymore sheathed behind her, she walked out of her room and currently headed down to the bar that was in the inn she was staying at, to get something to eat before exploring the rest of the town. As she walked into the bar, she took a seat and a nearby empty table and waited for one of the waitresses to come to her, and after a few moments, one had approached her table and looked at her.

"What can I get for you miss?" Asked the Waitress

"I'm new here, could you please tell me what you have?" Miria asked, faking her kind tone.

Her fake tone was not out of dislike for the waitress but in order to keep a certain appearance to people around her. She couldn't be so formal to a waitress or else she might give off a wrong impression to any other in the bar. Miria was well aware that some of the people in the inn's bar could be bandits, huntsmen, or mercenaries or even could work for whoever was hunting her and her friends down.

"Sure, for breakfast we're got some Valian hotcakes with eggs and sausage, our own Breakfast Burrito, and we also serve Ful here as well," The Waitress said

"Some Ful please" Miria replied "What do you have to drink?"

"Water, coffee, Orange juice, and a Banana smoothy" The Waitress replied

"One banana smoothy as well please," Miria said with a soft smile

The waitress smiled and nodded as she wrote down Miria's order and then headed back to the kitchen to deliver her order to the cook. Miria waited for her food and while she did, she grabbed her scroll out of her pocket and looked at the time, and saw that it was around 7:37, she pocketed her scroll and began to plan the rest of her day. She would use this time to slowly gain some if any information she could, as well as buy food, water, and dust. Just then she heard the door of the inn open and heard some footsteps coming towards the bar, at first she paid no mind and she eventually saw the person that had just entered. It was a young teen, with light blonde hair, and he wore a grey chest plate over a black short-sleeved hoodie, a pair of dark blue jeans, and black and white shoes. On his forearms were grey metal gauntlets and a pair of fingerless gloves, and he had a blue sash tied around his waist and strapped over that was a sword with a white sheath, and she noticed he had taken the table just across from her and sat in a seat that faced her, This was, of course, Jaune, but Miria paid him no mind and just waited for her food.

A Waitress came up to Jaune and asked him what he would like and he just ordered a cup of coffee with cream and sugar, the waitress nodded and walked away, and that's when Miria felt it. His gaze. She looked at Jaune for a split moment and saw that he was indeed looking at her as he waited for his coffee, this of course began to form an uneasy feeling within her, but she tried not to let it consume her mind, because if she reacted hastily to his gaze, her cover could be blown.

"Here you are miss"

Miria was taken out of her thoughts by the voice of the Waitress that took her order and currently had said order in her hands and placed it in front of her. Miria thanked the Waitress and began to eat the Ful. As Miria ate a few bites of her Ful and took a large sip of her smoothie, she saw that the waitress for Jaune's table had brought him his cup of coffee and he thanked her and he began to drink.

Miria still could feel his gaze, though, she also noticed he began to look at other places, no doubt trying not to startle her. Once she realized that he was indeed trying not to draw her attention too much, she knew that he was either one of two types of people. One of the many Huntsmen that were sent to look for her or people who looked similar to her, or he was one of the people hunting her down, which meant he was an associate or worked alongside them. She continued to eat and the teen continued to drink, but both knew that the other was onto the other.

However, the door of the inn opened again, but this time with a large bang, and Miria and all the patrons could hear the crash of the door flying off its hinges and being sent flying across the room. This, of course, had most of the patrons on alert, which included Miria and Jaune.

Everyone turned to look at the door, only to see a woman who wore large silver shoulder pads with a white cape that hung from her back and she also wore a white unitard and a pair of black stockings and silver leg guards. What both Miria and Jaune realized about this woman was of course her sharp yellow eyes and her long, pale brown hair styled into a ponytail braid.

Miria already knew who this was and a bit of fear washed over her being as her eyes laid their gaze on her figure.

"My, My, My, Ain't this a surprise," Said the woman as she looked at Miria "Phantom Miria"

Suddenly, with blinding speed, the woman appeared in front of Miria, and like the night before, her sword seemed to ripple and she then sliced downward at Miria, seeming to cut her entirely in half. Most of the bar scattered in terror, while some got up to attack the woman who had just seemed to kill another. However, Miria's form began to dissipate and vanish as if she was never there, to begin with. But she then reappeared from afar and a good distance away from the woman.

Jaune, went for his sword, realizing that he had just found two of the people he was here looking for. Although it seemed that they weren't working together like the last two he had fought. As soon as he unsheathed his sword, the woman who attacked Miria had noticed and with blinding speed, she was already in front of him and her sword rippled once again as she brought it upward at a horizontal angle, but she only managed to chip the bottom part of his chest piece while scrapping the rest of his armor, still, the force behind the swing had Jaune moving backward and falling right into a few chars and the edge of a table.

'how did she managed to get through my aura!?' Jaune asked himself

The woman saw that Jaune had lived and smiled as she looked down at him, "Wow, I'm impressed" She told him "a normal person couldn't survive that attack, which means you must be huntsmen"

Just then, the woman ducked as Miria's claymore sliced across the space where the woman's head was before.

'She dodged it!?' Miria cried to herself

Miria was then met with a backward kick to the stomach, causing her to fly upward before crashing back down into the railings of the stairway that led to the second floor. Jaune then used this opportunity to try and stab the woman, only for her doge it and use the hilt of her sword and bashed it into Jaune's side, somehow, yet thankfully, the attack didn't break through his aura, so there was no damage, but he was sent backward yet again, but this time he crashed right into a wall right next to Miria

"You two are really trying to attack me when I'm not looking," The woman told both Miria and Jaune "are you two working together?" She asked

Jaune slowly stood up and he breathed in deeply, and he could feel his aura going down just a little. Meanwhile, Miria sat up and then stood up and dusted herself off, it was at this point that She looked at Jaune

"You're not working with her?" Miria asked him

"Nope, You?" Jaune asked back

"No" Miria replied "Though, why did you try to help me?"

Jaune now had time to grab his sheath and he transformed it into his shield and then looked to Miria, "Headmistress Olympias sent me and a few others to go looking for women who matched your description after I encountered two others who looked like you, she wants to bring you back to Shade for questioning" Jaune told her

Hearing this, Miria was glad to know that Olympias had spotted their sightings and this also meant it would be easier to talk to her as well find a way into Shade.

"Well then, if we live through this fight, I will gladly come with you back to shade, but again, we must either survive this encounter with her or find a way out of here without causing too much damage to the civilians here," Miria said

Jaune nodded, "Right," He said "I'm Jaune Arc by the way, Operator-in-training"

"Miria, Some call me Phantom Miria, but please just call me Miria," Miria told Jaune

Jaune nodded "Nice to meet you Miria" Jaune said, "Now, do you know who she is?" Jaune asked

Miria nodded, "Yes" Miria replied "The woman before us, is called Ophelia, or better known in Vacuo as The Wicked Ophelia"

The woman, now known as Ophelia, smiled at them. Her smile was soft and seemed kind to the unknowing, but Miria and Jaune could tell, that behind that smiled, was a bloodthirsty monster.

"Oh this is gonna be so much fun, and once it's over, I'm sure she will be quite happy to have your head Miria," Ophelia said

She then charged at the two with blinding speed, and the two just prepared for any oncoming attack...

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed reading today's chapter and I hope you can wait for more because the fight has only just begun!

Next chapter, BRNZ, and NDGO will help with the fight only for yet another enemy to appear!
