Welcome to chapter 3 of Glass Slippers and Wicked Sisters ! I had to split this chapter into two parts because of how much happens in it. I'm still amazed at how much love is being given for this story and I'm happy you all are enjoying reading it just as much as I'm enjoying writing it. So without further ado, let's get on with the story!

Please Read and Review!

Chapter 3

"Bonnie."

Bonnie awoke with a start, finding herself amid the familiar surroundings of her cell. The crack in one of the stone walls, the way she knew the time of day, was dark meaning it was still night outside.

The little witch began to drift off again, as it wasn't time for her to be awake yet.

"Bonnie!"

Jerking her head up, Bonnie looked around from where she was shackled to the wall, trying in vain to figure out who was calling her. A figure standing outside her cell suddenly graced her vision, but it was still too dark to see who or what it was. Bonnie squinted and attempted to make out who would be down here this early. Certainly not Jackson.

A spark flew in the air right before her eyes, lighting what looked like a candle. Only it wasn't a candle.

It was a bloody stake.

Bonnie gasped in horror, her eyes following the direction of the light for it to reveal her mother, still appearing the way she died. The gaping hole in her chest from where she was pierced sent chills down the girl's spine.

"Bonnie. Why did you do it?" Abigail cried, tears streaming down her face. "Why did you pull the trigger, Bonnie? Why?"

This made the witch tear up and shake her head, attempting to erase this vision of her mother. She didn't want to relive that horrible night. It wasn't her fault, it was Kol's! It was her stepfather!

Bonnie opened her eyes, tears streaming down her own face, only to find her mother had disappeared. Breathing a sigh of relief as she shook her head, she gazed back up only to come face to face with Abigail right in front of her, but this time she was holding a bloody heart that was still beating.

"Your friend would still be alive, Bonnie. Kai wouldn't have died if you hadn't fired your weapon." Her mother held the heart up closer to her daughter's face. "It's all your fault!"

Before Bonnie could react, Abigail held the stake high above her head, paused as she stared her daughter in the eyes, then plunged it down into the organ.

Blood spattered onto Bonnie's terrified face, causing her to let out a bloodcurdling scream.

Startling herself awake, she took deep breaths to calm herself down before she glanced at her surroundings to find they were back to normal. Only instead of the ghost of Abigail, Jackson was standing outside her cell with a grin.

Bonnie decided she'd rather deal with her dead mother right now.

"Good, you're up." The captain of the guard said, smiling "Our master is expecting you."

The door to her cell was opened as two guards, Tyler and Mason, appeared and unshackled Bonnie. She scowled at them when they turned her around and pushed her roughly outside. Mason took Bonnie's arm and brought it up to show Jackson, who nodded in approval.

Around her wrist was an enchanted bracelet nullifying the girl's powers. Kol had commanded she wear it at all times and for the guards to check it everyday just in case it came off for some reason. The jewelry made her submit to her stepfather if Bonnie became too rebellious.

She received beatings the few times she removed it without permission, but was healed by the physicians who were also witches. It was rarely Kol who would punish her, as he would have Jackson do it to teach Bonnie a lesson. Often times the werewolf would leave her within an inch of her life before Kol sent her to be healed up.

Just once Bonnie wished she could use her powers to make Jackson pay for hurting her. But that will never happen, not while her stepfather was in power.

As Bonnie was being escorted towards Kol's room, she never failed to notice just how much the vampire had changed her once childhood home. The entire manor was renovated and made larger, causing the gardens she used to run in as a little girl to grow smaller.

Her room was turned into Katherine's room, with the interior being unrecognizable to Bonnie, while a guest room was made larger for Caroline's. Whenever she passed by them, there were always two maids outside with their heads bowed, waiting on their mistresses to summon them. Sometimes they would be out there all night in the same position, which sickened Bonnie.

The staircase leading up to what had been her mother's bedroom had gotten larger and grander. As Mason and Tyler led her up the stairs, it felt more like dragging to Bonnie, but she wasn't about to say anything with Jackson right behind her.

Finally, they reached the two double doors that housed the man the witch hated most in the world. The evil that radiated whenever they opened made Bonnie's skin crawl. As the group made their way inside, Bonnie couldn't see anything but the glow from the fireplace and a figure sitting in front of it. Two servants already in the room scurried to the windows and drew the curtains, where sunlight streamed in.

With the surroundings a bit lighter, the figure turned to reveal it was Kol, who held the arm of a dead maid in his grasp. His mouth glistened with blood while his brown eyes lit up in amusement upon seeing Bonnie, causing him to drop the arm and letting the body collapse to the floor. Kol stood up, wiping his hands and mouth on a handkerchief held by the servant beside him.

"There wasn't any trouble with her, was there Jackson?" he asked, smirking towards Bonnie.

Jackson bowed as did Tyler and Mason. "Not at all my lord. The servant knows there's no reason to be, right?" he said the last part sneering at Bonnie. She responded with a glare.

"Good. At least she knows her place." Kol smiled, withdrawing behind a screen where he was dressed quickly. He emerged wearing a black dress shirt with a ruffled front revealing some of his chest. Black pants and boots completed the ensemble.

Bonnie watched as her stepfather sat down in front of the fireplace again where a servant sat beside him to put on his rings. He crossed his legs, holding a glass filled with the poor maid's blood, observing his boots being shined.

"I'm thinking about going hunting." Kol announced after a few moments, glancing at Jackson while taking a sip. "Maybe catch some big game, who knows. Are you and your men up for it?"

Jackson grinned at his master. "That sounds like a wonderful idea!" he turned his gaze to Bonnie, who had been ignored until now. "But what about her, my liege? She'll be nothing but trouble to the other servants or worse of all, the princess's."

Bonnie turned to look at Kol's second-in-command incredulously. Sure she would be trouble to Katherine, but never to Caroline!

No matter what had happened before, Bonnie would always love the youngest vampire daughter. Even after the events following Bonnie's mother's death.

After Kol killed Bonnie's mother and best friend, he gained more power to make his rule almost rival that of King Damon's. All the witches fell under his control and any rebellious intentions were squashed.

Bonnie was the only one to mourn Kai and Lady Bennett, imprisoned alone in the dungeons she grieved. Luckily no one could hear her so she could shed tears more freely and without an audience.

Her solitude didn't last for very long though. One morning Bonnie had awoken only, to her shock and surprise, to see Katherine outside her cell wearing a yellow dress with a hat in her dark curly hair.

She had gotten prettier as she aged, so much so that Kol forbid any man come near her without his approval, much to his daughter's chagrin. Same would also be said of Caroline.

Katherine stared at the girl who was once her 'sister', smirking and folding her arms across her chest. "Why, if it isn't Bonnie! I see you got in trouble with Father. What was it, stealing? Lying?"

The princess leaned in closer, the bars pressing against her face. "Murder, perhaps?" Her lips formed a mock pout while she gazed at Bonnie with doe eyes.

Bonnie felt her heart stop as her blood ran cold. Murder? What was she talking about?

The pout on Katherine's face transformed into a smile, showing her perfect teeth and dimples. "You haven't heard the news? Gossip in the ranks is that you murdered your mother in cold-blood and Father locked you in here as self-defense."

She closed her eyes, holding her hand to her chest and her other arm outstretched. "Alas now that she's gone and you've been demoted to servant, I guess I'll have to take your place. You're lucky your friend was the one Daddy killed or else you would be too. I would be grateful if I were you."

Something inside Bonnie began to boil, hearing that she should be grateful both her friend and mother were dead because of a monster, but she was still living. How dare Katherine! If she could use her power to snap the bitch's pretty neck, she would in an instant.

Her teeth clenched and she glared at the other girl. But something began to gnaw in the back of her mind, making her gasp.

"Caroline knows, doesn't she? She has too!"

If Bonnie saw any signs of sadness on Katherine's face, she was sorely mistaken. Katherine merely stared off to the side with a smirk, fiddling with one of her brown strands.

"Caroline knows what Father has told her, which is that you killed Lady Bennett. She was completely devastated, which is probably the reason that she hasn't come to see you. I doubt she ever will, now that she knows her sister is a murderer!"

A wicked gleam came to Katherine's brown eyes as she said the last part. "But don't fret. I'm still here. To make your life a living hell perhaps, but I'll still come and chat." She gave Bonnie a knowing glance, "Who knows. We might become best friends, instead of just friends."

Bonnie huffed under her breath. The audacity! "Whoever said we were friends? As far as I know, you've always hated me."

Katherine let out a laugh that echoed through the dungeons. "Why, silly girl, you did! Whenever we were little, remember? You asked me if I would be friends with you after I had gotten in trouble with Father, and I, being the genius that I am, lied and said we would become best friends. I never thought it would be that easy to trick you!"

"Surely the witches will figure out that I didn't kill my mother. Did you calculate that into your little plan, hmm?" Bonnie asked, trying to knock Katherine off her high horse.

"Don't worry your pretty head, Bon Bon. Father's wit and charm won them over and caused them to believe he's innocent. They will never in a million years find out the truth." The vampiress locked eyes with Bonnie. "Not when their scapegoat is where she should be. Safe from committing anymore acts of senseless murder!"

"Stop!" screamed Bonnie. "I didn't kill my own mother! I'm not a murderer!"

Her stepsister's gaze grew more intense the longer she looked at the witch in front of her. "Well then, if that is what you say you are, which is innocent, let me ask you a few simple questions. Who shot the stake into Lady Bennett's heart? Who was holding the weapon used to do so? Hmm?"

Silence was all that was heard. Bonnie stared at the ground, her mind numb. She was the one who shot the weapon! She was the one who killed her mother!

She was the murderer!

" Nooooo!!" the witch shrieked, sweat pouring down her forehead. "No more! Please Katherine, no more. I can't take it!"

Triumphantly, Katherine leaned in again, a cold smile across her face. "I knew I'd win. It was only a matter of time before you came to your senses. How does it feel knowing the truth?"

Bonnie's voice cracked, tears welling up in her eyes. A sob escape her lips while her mind forced her to relive every moment of that nightmare. She bowed her head sadly at the thought of Kai and her mother. Both were dead and never coming back because of her!

It was all because of her!

"Oh Bonnie, I do wish I had grown closer to you as a sister before Father locked you away. I could never have that relationship with a servant. Oh well, too late now!" Katherine cackled gleefully.

Now there wouldn't be anyone to stand in her Father's way from taking what's his! Especially not a widow and her brat. While Katherine didn't know what Kol was searching for, she knew from watching him that it was very, very important.

Before the princess left, Bonnie asked her why she was wearing yellow instead of black. The manor surely still had to be in mourning for their mistress, didn't they?

"Bonnie, Bonnie, Bonnie. Don't you know?" Katherine asked, twirling so her skirts lifted a bit from the ground. "We're celebrating Father's rise to power! There's a huge banquet and everything prepared!"

She gave Bonnie a wink, "Don't worry, I'll make sure to have the rats bring you crumbs when they come visit!"

The vampire princess's cruel laughter reverberated through the dungeons until Bonnie heard the door slam. She wished she could curl up in a ball, but her shackles wouldn't allow her that freedom. All she could think about were the lies poor Caroline was being fed by her father and sister, and the fact that everyone, including a part of herself, believed it to be true.

Bonnie lifted her head, determination across her face.

The truth about that night would come out! That she would make sure of.

Bonnie thought she heard Kol say something about attending to Katherine and Caroline while he was away, but she wasn't listening all too well.

Pain shot through the back of her head from where she was suddenly slapped. "Girl!" Jackson growled. "Listen when you are being spoken to by your master!"

A chuckle was heard from Kol, who still sat in his chair facing them. Bonnie glared at them both, more so at the werewolf standing right beside her. "It's alright, Jackson. She doesn't listen anyway." The vampire leaned closer in the same fashion Katherine had. "She didn't on the night she lost her mother and friend, now did she?"

Kol's smile grew larger at the last part, making chills run up the witch's spine. She knew he was meaning how she couldn't protect her mother or Kai that night. It caused Bonnie to narrow her eyes, bristling with rage over how calmly he talked about murdering her family.

She'd be able to kill the vampire lord if she had her magic back. They were all going to pay.

An amused smirk formed on Kol's face, observing at how much of a reaction he got from the little witch. She still had that spirit. Even when he'd hurt her enough to break it, she wouldn't submit.

Luckily he liked to play with his toys.

"Bring her closer." He commanded Jackson.

Bonnie was shoved roughly towards Kol, causing her to stumble and fall to the floor. Her knees caught her, but before she could get back up, the young vampire's hand snatched her chin forcing her to gaze into those cold brown eyes. His thumb traced over the scar on her cheek from where he'd slapped her, along with other cuts and bruises the witch had suffered at his hands.

"I see that one's healed up nicely." He mused. "Use it as a reminder that you aren't anything more than my obedient slave, darling. A rebellious one perhaps, but that's what punishment is for."

A gob of spit suddenly hit Kol's face right below his eye. Shocked, he wiped it off with a handkerchief, glaring furiously at Bonnie, who replied with one of her own.

"I'll never submit to you." She hissed. "And I'll never bow either."

Either the brat was incredibly defiant or stupid, Kol guessing the latter. No one talked to him that way and kept their head. With Bonnie, however, she was still his plaything and sometimes toys needed to break a little.

The witch suddenly gasped for air, feeling her stepfather's hand around her throat as he lifted her from the floor. She closed her eyes and struggled to breathe, clawing at his hand to get him to release her. Opening them Bonnie saw the amused look on Kol's face as if he wasn't torturing her.

"We'll see about that, little one." He said with a sneer.

The wall didn't feel as hard to Bonnie when she made impact after being thrown. It was the power of the bracelet, she decided. Her stepfather didn't want her dead as she was too valuable to him alive. However a lesson still needed to be taught.

One way or another.

Slowly getting to her knees, Bonnie was sharply pinned to the floor by the boot on her back. Looking to see who it was, she recognized the smug face of Jackson. She felt the sharp impact of the heel to her side and hoped she didn't have any cracked ribs. It felt like he was pressing his full weight on her back, and would press harder the more she struggled.

Bonnie heard Kol snap his fingers. Jackson grabbed the front of her thin dress by the collar after the werewolf moved his foot off. She prayed she wouldn't have any serious broken bones this time.

The polished hardwood floor Bonnie's body slid across was actually less painful being thrown onto than the wall, but it still would leave her with bruises. She struggled to get to her knees, her whole body trembling when she got up on her elbows.

"Ah ah ah." Kol chided. "You are not to move until Jackson's through, sweetheart."

By her stepfather's word, the power of the bracelet forced Bonnie back onto the floor. She lay there, frozen and prone to anymore abuse the werewolf had in him, unable to move a muscle.

A few more sharp kicks to her sides left the girl wheezing painfully for air. Bonnie swore she could taste blood in her mouth but finally her torture was through, hearing Kol's command for Jackson to cease.

Getting up on her elbows, the witch didn't get the chance to crawl away like she normally did. Instead a strong hand grabbed the scruff of her dress and dragged her over to Kol. Gazing at the servant, the vampire looked over her injuries, seeming pleased at Jackson's handiwork. He nodded towards Bonnie and Mason and Tyler came back to restrain her.

"Let this be a lesson to you, brat." Kol growled, glaring at her, "Do something like that one more time and your mouth will be sewed shut. Understood?"

Bonnie replied with a glare back at Kol, but she knew her body couldn't take anymore abuse. Instead she bowed her head in defeat, letting out a deep sigh.

"Yes master. I understand." Bonnie replied. She wanted to be back in her cell, away from the devil himself.

But that was not to be. For lo and behold there came a knock upon the door. A soft voice could be heard from behind it.

"Daddy?"

A smirk formed on Kol's face, waiting for Bonnie's reaction to Caroline's voice. He observed guilt crossing the witch's features for a brief second before she returned back to normal. Nothing was going to change how she and his daughter felt about each other, making Kol grin.

"You may come in, Caroline."

(To Be Continued)

So what did you guys think? I had to introduce a little bit more flashback to explain why Caroline treats Bonnie the way she does. Katherine is such a bitch right? But so is their father. I had a lot of trouble writing this chapter more than the flashback chapters but I hoped you enjoyed it. See you guys next time!
