Chapter 2 seemed to be my best work, having gotten two reviews on it. But now we are off to Chapter 3. Thanks to manhunter97 for making me think of answers to the questions he asked. Also, I know we didn't get hit by Truck-kun, we got taken by War Dog-samas.
All should be revealed in this chapter, for the most part.

Chapter 3
Rose Tower, Galar Region, Pokémon World
Both Oleana and Chairman Rose had just finished grabbing books for John and Kev to read and were just heading back up the elevator to the top floor. Oleana looked unsure of what to make of the two humans. "Chairman," She said, turning to Rose. "Why are you allowing these strangers the chance to compete in the Galar League? The deadline for late arrivals is tonight. Even if they were to pass and have the tests graded, they would then have to get their starters from Professor Magnolia outside of Wedgehurst. Then trek through the Wild Area, which would take days for them to do, and that's if they WERE familiar with the area. And I don't think our two arrivals are packed for a long trek. They're barely clothed!" She finished, putting her hands on either side of her temples, trying to fight off the forming migraine.
Rose smiled at her. "I understand your apprehension Oleana," He said, trying to placate Oleana. "But this is for the best. John did bring up some good points. We have our own goals to complete, and we can't waste time and resources having to babysit two people from another world. Furthermore, I wasn't lying when I said that it goes against my beliefs to disallow others to follow their dreams," Rose smiled at her. "We would also be able to keep a better eye on the two of them without them even knowing they are being watched." He finished as the elevator came to a stop and the doors opened.
Oleana nodded, and the two walked into Rose's office to hear loud noises and seeing John and Kev hunched over a chair.
"Come on John, fucking pass Bowser already!"
"Suck a boiler flue Kev, I got one last lap to get him. And I got a red shell. So I ca-DAMN IT!" John shouted, as Rose and Oleana heard an explosion from in front of the two men.
"Fucking Blue Shell!" Kev shouted, throwing up his hands in exasperation.
"I know," John grunted. "It's the great equalizer!" Both looked up as Rose cleared his throat, gaining their attention.
"I won't ask what you two are playing," Rose said, raising an eyebrow as John shut off his Switch Lite. "But here are your books and studying materials for the exam. You have three hours to study. Good luck gentlemen. Oh, and John, we have ordered curry for the two of you to have for your lunch, but I would appreciate it if you two didn't get your food all over the books." He finished, as Kev and John shot him a thumbs up.
Not even an hour later, and both students were surrounded by books, ranging from Pokémon history, to philosophy, to health and care, and of course, battling strategies. Kev was sitting at a large table with his books, while John, much to Rose's amusement, and Oleana's confusion, took to walking around the office, muttering his readings aloud as he carried his book with him. (A.N. I honestly did this to study for tests pre-Covid-19. It strangely works, even though you look like a screwball.)
Finally, the food arrived, and both young men sat down and made room for their lunches. Both looked and salivated as the curry dishes were placed in front of them.
Kev's dish looked the most basic, with chunks of potato sitting in the curry sauce, draped atop the yellow-colored rice. He nodded as the aroma hit his nose. "Smells great, what about yours, John?" He asked, turning to his friend, stopping when he noticed John starting to drool.
John's dish was four sausages laying atop the curry sauce, which was a richer red than Kev's, and all of it was also draped over the same type of rice. John took a few sniffs, and recoiled lightly. "Woah!" He yelped, taking a few deep breaths. "That is strong. What is this anyway?"
Oleana glared at John. "Spicy Sausage Curry," She huffed. "And your friend there has Plenty-of-Potatoes Curry. There is nothing wrong with them, so your reaction is completely unfounded." She growled at John, folding her arms as she glared at him.
John nodded. "I never said there was anything wrong with it," He retorted. "I just have a good sense of smell, since my eyesight is shot to hell." He looked at Kev and motioned for them to eat. Both nodded at each other and started eating.
Kev finished his in record time, finding the rugged texture of the potatoes to add a nice variety to the rice and vegetables. "Great stuff," He grinned at Rose and Oleana. He then heard huffing to his right. He looked over at John, stared, and began to laugh. "John! Your face! And you're crying!" Kev howled with laughter, wiping tears from his eyes.
John didn't respond, his face was red as he struggled to eat his curry. In his hunger-induced happiness, he had forgotten that he wasn't a fan of spicy foods. By the time he remembered that fact it had been too late, as he had already eaten half of his plate. He could only do one thing, and that was to flip Kev off, and struggle on. His eyes had gone red from the spice as tears started to flow from his eyes, and his cheeks were red as well.
Rose and Oleana stared in stunned silence as this scene unfolded. Oleana stepped forward, her face showing some concern. "You know we can order you something else, you don't have to eat it if you're allergic." She said, to which John shook his head at her before finishing his plate.
"Can't waste food," He said, wheezing as he tried to catch his breath with his burning mouth. "I just… can't really handle super spicy stuff." He gulped, flinching as he tasted the after effects of the curry.
Kev looked at his friend, before patting him on the back. "Yeah, back home, John, a friend of his, and myself went to a buffet," He explained. "His friend gave him a piece of super spicy chicken. Now, John's philosophy with food is he'll try anything once. So he eats it, his face turns bright red, and he starts crying like you just saw. The server actually came to see if anything was wrong. We had to explain to him that John couldn't handle super spicy foods." He began to laugh again, flinching as John slugged him in the arm.
Rose covered his mouth, trying to hide his amused grin. These two were proving to be a good source of entertainment, if nothing else. "Anyway," He said, interrupting the two before an argument could break out. "Now, it is time for your exam, it is a simple forty question exam, with a mix of short answers, multiple choice, and written portions. You have three hours to complete it, I wish you both the best of luck." Oleana handed the two the exams, and pens and papers.
Both men looked at each other, nodded, and hunkered down to begin their exams.
Kev looked at his exam. On it, he noticed the outline of the exam was similar to the exams he and John took for one of the professor's midterm and finals. Question One. Which one of these Pokémon is considered a dual type? Below he saw four choices: A) Ditto, B) Diggersby, C) Chewtle, D) Musharna. Kev thought quickly, and wrote down B, having seen John's Galarian Pokédex in Sword once, noting that Diggersby was a ground-type, as well as a normal-type. Alright, He thought to himself, one down, thirty-nine to go. He looked at the next multiple-choice questions, and began choosing his answers one at a time.
Staring at his test, John had gone through the multiple-choice questions easily enough. When it came to the written questions, he stopped and looked at the first written question. How long can a Charizard's tail stay lit underwater? He blinked and closed his eyes, trying to think of an answer. This is a trick question, as there have been recordings of a Charizard's tail being hit by water-type attacks as well as Ice-Type moves. John wrote. However, it would differ from Charizard to Charizard, depending on team compositions and training. A Charizard used to water-types would be better off. He scribbled it down as best he could, and moved on to the next question.
Two Hours later, Rose and Oleana looked up as they heard two pens hit the desks with taps and rattles. They noticed the two looking up at them, papers pushed forward. Oleana walked up to the two and picked up their exams. "Alright you two, Oleana will grade your exams, while I take you two to get some proper clothes," Rose smiled, standing up from his desk. "Whether you pass or fail, we can't have you two walking around in rags, now can we?" He chuckled as both students blushed lightly, each nodding. He headed to the elevator, motioning for both John and Kev to follow him. "Oleana, I trust you will be a fair grader to these two potential trainers?" He asked his secretary, who nodded in response. "Thank you." He finished, as the doors shut, leaving Oleana to begin grading the exams.
Wyndon, Galar Region. Pokémon World
Rose led the two down the roads, crisscrossing multiple times in an attempt to avoid crowds. It had not been long since John and Kev's appearance in the world, so people would still stare in shock as two men in rags followed the prim and clean Rose. Finally, Rose stopped in front of a large clothing shop. "Alright you two," He said, looking at the two men from the corner of his eye. "I trust the two of you won't go too overboard with your shopping. As you will both be paying me back when or if you two pass."
"But how?" Kev asked. "I mean, our money here is useless. So unless you have a job opening in the next five minutes, we might not be able to pay you back." He looked over at John, who shrugged in response. Kev had a point, they were lucky to survive, and they had no idea what a Pokédollar even looked like, let alone the knowledge of currency in this world.
Rose nodded his head calmly. "I understand that," He began. "So that is why for every battle you two win, a small percentage will be taken out of your winnings in the league. Of course I won't take all of the money, as you would need to cover for your own travel expenses and supplies, but it would be enough for you two to pay me back by the end of your journey." He finished, as the three entered the store.
The store looked very similar to a Pokémon version of a Target, in John and Kev's opinions. Clothing was separated by gender, and even species, as people enjoyed dressing up their Pokémon. Both men headed off to the men's section, while Rose watched them go, wondering why the two had been sent out of a wormhole in the first place. To him, it was obvious that the two were hiding something, but he would find out in time. After all, he was a patient man, very patient.
Not too long after, both John and Kev had come back with their new clothes, and bags full of supplies. Rose eyed the two up, noting their individual tastes in fashion, and he could almost hear his bank account crying out in anger.
John had forgone his Earth Fashion for dark blue pants that covered up the top part of his shoes, he wore a black belt with a Pokéball belt cover, and a grey shirt with a dark grey Pokéball outline off-centered on the shirt. He also had on a black bomber jacket with a picture of an Eevee on the back. On his head was a dark gray visor with another Pokéball outline off-centered on the front. "Not a bad look," He grunted, cracking his neck and readjusting his glasses. In his bag he had some camping gear. "What do you think Kev? We look the part yet?"
Kev was wearing dark blue jeans as well, and was wearing a white shirt with a Galarian Zigzagoon on his shirt, jumping towards the front. He wore a dark gray hoodie with a Pokéball logo on the front right breast, and on the back was the Galarian League logo, while he was wearing a red beanie with different Unknowns on it in their different letter forms. He took off the beanie. "Meh, I'll pass on the hat, you keep it." He grunted, passing the hat to John, who put it in his bag.
"Excellent," Rose smiled, clapping his hands together, although on the inside he was feeling rather faint. "I am sure that Oleana is almost complete with grading your exams, and I will finish your letters of endorsement if you have passed." He turned and John and Kev followed him back to Rose Tower, as the three walked through town, the two Earth humans could tell they weren't getting as many stares as before, which suited them just fine. They weren't to know however, that Rose was furious in his mind. "These two better have passed. I don't think I can afford to clothe and feed these two. Wait, perhaps there is something else that could… Yes. That is it. But I'll need to make some inquiries." He thought as they entered Rose Tower's Lobby.
Rose Tower, Galar Region, Pokémon World
The three men arrived back into Rose's office, as Oleana looked up from where the tests had just been graded. "Well Oleana," Rose said, as the three entered the office. "How did they do?" He asked, noting Oleana's disheveled expression.
Oleana looked up. "They passed," She said. "Just. They needed an 80 percent in order to successfully pass, Kevin got an 82, while John got an 85," She looked as John stuck his tongue out at Kev, who punched him in the shoulder and flipped him off, which only made John grin cheekily at his friend. "Are you certain that these two are ready for being trainers Chairman?" She asked, looking as Rose nodded.
"Now you two," Rose said, turning to the two young men, who stared back at him. "Your journey begins now. I will contact Professor Magnolia in Wedgehurst and let her know of your arrival. Once you arrive at her lab you can receive your starter Pokémon," He smiled, noting John began trembling with excitement, and Kev grinned. "Make sure you two are packed and prepare to leave in one hour. I wish the two of you luck on your journey." As he turned to sit at his desk, both John and Kev high-fived each other.
"John and Kev on their first whirlwind adventure!" John laughed, grinning at Kev. This was any Pokémon fan's dream. Well, as far as he knew anyway. "Now, we need to be ready."
One hour later, the four adults heard a caw outside and a strange metal-like bird land outside on top of a taxi cabin. John and Kev looked in silence as the four headed outside. The strange bird turned and stared at the two of them menacingly with its red eyes. The pilot looked down from the back of the bird.
"Ye two act like ye havenae seen a Corviknight before!" He shouted down with a thick Scottish-Accent at John and Kev.
"Well, our friends here aren't from around Galar," Rose called back up. "They need a ride to Wedgehurst to start their journey!" He patted Kev on the back, causing him to stumble forward, closer to the taxi cabin, and the Corviknight, who cawed loudly at him.
"Aye. Well ye two. Climb in and we be off." The taxi driver replied. The two nodded and entered the Corviknight taxi with their stuff, and with a beat of its mighty wings, the Corviknight took off into the sky with the taxi. Rose and Oleana waved good-bye before Rose turned back towards Rose Tower.
"Chairman?" Oleana asked, confused.
"Have our league workers keep an eye on those two," Rose stated. "I have a feeling there is more to our friends than meets the eye." Oleana nodded as they reentered the tower.
Above Galar, Galar Region, Pokémon World
The Corviknight flew quickly south above Galar, Kev looked out the window as the Galar region flew by, buildings looked like ants, and fields looked tiny to him from their perspective. "John, you have got to look at this," He said, turning towards his friend, stopping when he noticed John clinging to the seat. "Nevermind." He finished.
"If it doesn't have engines and wings it shouldn't be flying." John muttered as the Corviknight slowly began to descend into Wedgehurst. John began to relax as the taxi touched down in Wedgehurst Square.
Wedgehurst, Galar Region, Pokémon World
As the Corviknight landed the pilot looked as the cabin door flew open and John tumbled out with his backpack on his back. He took some deep breaths to steady himself as Kev walked out of the cabin. "Terra Firma!" John cheered. "Salvation!" He looked around as people, Kev, the pilot, and even the Corviknight stopped to look at him. "What? I don't fly very well." He said, sheepishly.
The pilot nodded his head. "I see laddie," He chuckled. "Noot ev'rybody does at first, but good luck to ye two." He ushered the Corviknight Taxi up, and the bird Pokémon flew up quickly, disappearing from view.
Kev patted John on the back. "Come on man, we got Pokémon to obtain!" He cheered, as he turned and looked around. "Now, which one of these buildings is the professor's house? I see the Pokémon center. And is that a train station?"
"Look out!" Came a voice from behind the two. This was followed by the sounds of something rolling along the ground, something big. John and Kev looked back as John was bowled over by something fluffy that obscured his vision.
Kev looked down at the thing that was sitting on John. He noted it was a sheep of some sort. It looked insanely fluffy and certainly content with sitting on John's face as John struggled and thrashed around, with muffled yells coming from under the sheep.
"Wooloo!" Shouted the voice from earlier. "You know not to go bowling into people like that. Now get off him, he needs air!" Kev looked as a young man of about 18 ran up to them and began trying to push the Wooloo off of John.
"No. It's nice here. He makes a good ottoman," The Wooloo baa'ed in response. As the young man kept pushing, the Wooloo looked at Kev, matching eyes with him. "And I found the loveseat!" Wooloo slowly got up and started running towards Kev. But the young man pulled out a pokéball and returned the Wooloo as it lunged at Kev.
"Geez," The young man said, exasperated as John slowly dragged himself off the ground. "Sorry about Wooloo. He isn't normally like that." John simply shook his head and coughed as he tried to take in large amounts of air.
"Thought I was gonna die due to that thing," John coughed. "Keep that thing in its ball if you don't mind." He added, as the young man nodded.
"No problem," The young man grinned. "I think introductions are in order. I'm Hop, Galar's future champion!" Hop announced, striking a pose with his hand in the air. (A.N. I'm not describing the pose, it's Leon's pose from Sword and Shield.) Kev and John clapped at this display.
"Very impressive," Kev said, semi-sarcastically. "Anyway, I'm Kevin, but call me Kev, and the person that your Wooloo bowled over is John, you wouldn't happen to know where Professor Magnolia's house is?" He finished.
Hop nodded. "I was heading there myself, we're right next to it actually," He said, pointing towards a two-story home to the right of the small town. "I was going to get my starter Pokémon from my brother there, what about you two? You two look older than most trainers."
"We are getting our starter Pokémon as well," Kev stated. "We sort of… started late, insanely late with our journeys," He chuckled, as John nodded in agreement. "We were endorsed by Chairman Rose and his secretary for the league. We might be older than a lot of trainers, but age is a number." He grinned as Hop laughed.
"Yeah, they had to up the age requirement after numerous accidents a few years ago in other leagues with evil teams nearly destroying the world with legendaries," Hop said. "Ever since then all starting trainers have to be 16 in order to catch Pokémon and are required to be 18 in order to take part in the league, and that is with an endorsement. Sort of like a legalized license and contract." Hop explained, which had John nodding in agreement again.
"Well, we're burning daylight," John spoke up. "Let's get moving. Don't want to be late before there are no Pokémon left and we have to settle for some mouse with a bad-attitude." He and Kev laughed, which confused Hop as the three headed towards the home. They were about to knock on the door, when it opened, revealing an older man in his late twenties. (A.N. His fashion is the same from the games to here.)
"Leon!" Hop cheered as he hugged his brother. "Great to see you again," He grinned at Leon, who grinned back. "How was the trip down from Wyndon?"
Leon nodded, still grinning. "It was great, although I kept forgetting where Wedgehurst was," He admitted sheepishly. "But Charizard got us here in the end. But who are your friends?" He asked, looking at Kev and John.
"John and Kev," Hop said, pointing at the two men. "They're here to get their starter Pokémon from Sonia."
Leon laughed. "Great! Come on in, I'm sure Sonia already knows you are coming, considering we just got done talking to Rose himself." The group entered the building and both Earth men noted how clean it was, with bookshelves decorating the second story with machines on the first floor. A small yellow corgi Pokémon ran up to the group, barking loudly.
"Well, aren't you a friendly one?" John said, bending down and petting the Pokémon under the chin, who barked again and rolled over onto its back, swinging its little legs in the air as if it were running.
"Yamper!" Called a female voice from upstairs. All four men looked as Yamper ran to the bottom of the stairs and looked up. A beautiful redheaded woman around Leon's age came down the stairs, both John and Kev gulped as she seemed to ooze natural beauty and intelligence. John blinked a few times and shook his head to stop himself from staring, while Kev just stared straight at her. "Hello Hop, it's great to see you again, and who are your friends?"
Kev immediately spoke up, taking Sonia's hand and kissing it. "I'm Kevin," He said in a suave voice. "And you are the most beautiful woman I have ever met. If you would do me the honor of being my girl-URK!" He was cut off as John brought his fist into the back of Kev's skull, knocking him down.
"Sit!" John growled, groaning as he dragged Kev back to Leon and Hop.
"Okay!" Came Yamper's voice from next to Sonia, as he sat down and looked at John. "Do I get a treat now?"
"Look Kev, even the Yamper is more trained than you," John smirked at Kev, who groaned in response as he picked himself up. "To follow up Sonia, I am John. We're here to receive our first Pokémon, if there are any left of course. Worst case scenario is we go catch our own."
Sonia smiled at the two, blushing a little bit at Kev's forwardness. "I know," She said to John. "Chairman Rose told me and Leon about you two, he said you aren't from the Galar Region, but wanted to take on the league anyway. I actually have the three Galarian starters over here," She explained, walking over to a yellow case and opening it, revealing three iconic balls to the three young men. "Now Hop, since you have Wooloo, perhaps you should let John and Kev go first." She said to Hop, who nodded with a slight grimace on his face.
"Thanks Sonia," John grinned at her, as he and Kev took out two pokéballs. Both marveling at the smoothness and trying not to tremble. "Well, let's do this." John said finally, preparing to toss the ball into the air, but was stopped as Sonia tapped his shoulder.
"First, you two need to press the center button with your thumbs," She explained. "This way the Pokéball will be registered to you two. It's a new security measure to stop people from stealing other people's Pokémon while they are in their Pokéballs.. Just hold the button until you feel a slight humming noise, and the ball will be registered to you. You'll have to do that with all new Pokéballs you buy as well."
Both men nodded, and did what Sonia instructed. Once it was complete, John's left arm swung out. "Come on out!" He cheered as he tossed the pokéball into the air, and it popped open revealing a white rabbit with red ears and feet, looking around with slight interest.
"We setting out? Which one of you nitwits is my trainer?" It said, looking around until its eyes caught John, who was kneeling in front of it."Great… I get the nerd that looks like a human Sudowoodo." It groaned, facepalming itself.
"Nice, you got a Scorbunny," Kev chuckled. "And he doesn't like you at all. Let's see what I got." He tossed his ball underhanded a few feet, when it popped open a green monkey was standing on the ground next to Scorbunny. It took its stick out of its leaves on the top of its head and began tapping the ground making a rhythmic beat.
"Alright! Time to get this tour on the road," The monkey cheered, looking up at Kev and John, sticking his stick in the air and waving it around. "So this is who I am rocking out with!? Epic!" The Grookey cheered, doing a backflip. Scorbunny just shook his head at Grookey's happiness and cheer.
"Mate, we have two older blokes who look like they won't even survive a journey down the road. We're talking about going across Galar." Scorbunny snorted, folding its paws across his chest.
"Whatever those two are talking about," John shrugged. "Oh, we also don't have a Pokédex. How are we supposed to scan our Pokémon?" He realized, as Kev nodded in agreement.
"No problem," Sonia said. "Do you two have cell phones?" When the two nodded, she held out her hand. "I can modify them slightly and have them be pseudo pokédexes. Both shrugged and handed their phones to her. Sonia took the phones out of their cases and headed over to a table. Both young men looked over at their pokémon.
"Now the question remains, what do we nickname them?" John asked, noting Scorbunny kicking a small pebble up and down on his feet repeatedly, ignoring John's comment.
Kev shrugged, as Grookey began tapping other items around the lab with his stick, listening to the different noises that were made. "I think I'll call him DK." He decided, as DK looked up at him and gave a thumbs up.
"Guess he likes it," John said. He looked over as Scorbunny kicked the pebble he was juggling across the room. The pebble bounced off the wall of the lab and flew right back at Scorbunny, knocking it right on the bandage on his head, knocking him onto the ground. "Stirling," John suddenly said, causing Kev, DK, and the newly-named Stirling to look at him. "Named after a goalie I saw on TV once." He finished, as Scorbunny looked at the ceiling, before nodding and shrugging at the same time.
Kev chuckled as Sonia came back with their phones. "There you two are," She said. "It wasn't easy but I managed to do it. All you need to do is open this app called the Dex App and take a picture of the Pokémon in question. The phone does the rest."
"This better not have voided the warranty." John groaned as he opened the app and pointed the camera at Stirling.
"Scorbunny, the Rabbit Pokémon, a Fire-Type. Scorbunny has special pads at the back of its feet and on its nose. When these pads radiate intense heat, it is ready to fight at full power," John's phone said in a robotic voice. "This Scorbunny is Level 5 and knows the moves Tackle and Growl; it's ability is Blaze, and is registered to John."
"Sweet, let me try." Kev said, doing the same to Grookey.
"Grookey, the Chimp Pokémon, a Grass-Type. When it uses its special stick to strike up a beat, the sound waves carry revitalizing energy to the flowers and plants in the area. This Grookey is Level 5 and knows the moves Scratch and Growl; it's ability is Overgrow and is registered to Kevin."
Both men grinned and high-fived each other. "Pokémon battle?" Kev asked, John nodded and the two took off, with DK and Stirling following. Sonia, Leon, and Hop looked at each other, as Hop picked up the remaining pokéball and the three followed John and Kev outside.
When the group left the lab, they saw John and Kev standing across from each other, with Stirling by John's side, and DK by Kev's.
"This will be a one-on-one battle," John said, tapping his phone. "And we'll battle for say…. Five minutes?"
"Sounds good to me," Kev agreed. "Let's go DK!" The chimp Pokémon hopped in front of Kev and tapped its stick on the ground, as small flowers popped up around it.
"Let's rock and roll!" DK cheered, eying Stirling, who seemed disinterested.
"Time to rumble Stirling!" John grinned as Stirling walked forward calmly, but then started hopping from one foot to the next.
"Finally, lets see how much of a nitwit this trainer of mine is." Stirling said as he smirked at DK.
"Come on Stirling. He can't be that bad." DK said, as Stirling shrugged.
"What are you two doing?" Hop asked John and Kev. "You guys are gonna battle without me?" He asked, as John tapped his phone, starting the timer and ignoring Hop.
"Begin!" John shouted. "Stirling, use Growl!" Stirling did so, and a blue aura showed around DK as his attack was lowered.
"DK, get in there and use Scratch!" Grookey ran forward and scratched at Stirling, who grimaced as the claws did some damage.
"Lucky shot Chimp-Chump!" Stirling grunted as he skidded back slightly to get away from DK.
"Big mistake Kev, Stirling, tackle DK and watch out for that stick!" Stirling fired off like a rocket, tackling the Chimp in the stomach and knocking him back towards Kev. "Now jump back to get some room." Stirling did so, as DK picked himself up.
"Okay, okay," Stirling said. "Not a bad call, for a human Sudowoodo."
"Alright then, DK, use growl and scratch one more time!" DK did so, growling as it charged forward, causing a blue aura to show up around Stirling, as DK's claws glowed white.
"Stirling. Jump over DK and get clear of his claws," John called out, as Stirling hopped over DK and ran to the other side of the field. "Growl again!" Another blue aura went around DK, signifying an attack decrease.
"Now! Scratch/Tackle!" Both men called out, as both Pokémon charged at each other with their respective attack moves. Just as they were about to hit, John's phone rang out, announcing the battle was over. "Battle is over you two!" John shouted as both DK and Stirling stopped in their tracks, mere inches from each other. All four stopped as Leon walked up, clapping at the match.
"Great job! That was impressive!" He called. "You two really knew what you were doing for your first battle."
John grinned at Leon as Stirling began juggling another pebble and DK began to tap his stick on the dirt. Kev laughed. "Yeah," Kev responded. "We just went with what felt right. Ya know?"
Leon nodded. "That's how it usually starts. But I'm sure you two will go far on your journey. Just trust in your team, and you'll go far." He then struck his signature pose, which was the same one that Hop did.
John and Kev clapped as Sonia approached. "Chairman Rose also told us you need to go down to my Grandmother's home, same with you Hop. Something about 'giving you the full Galar experience?'" She said. "It'd be best to heal up your Pokémon before you head out onto Route 2."
"No kidding. We'll heal up and catch up with you on Route 2, that okay Hop?" John asked Hop, who nodded. "Sweet, see you in a few." Both men were about to head off with DK and Stirling, when Leon called out.
"Hang on you two, do you two have any pokéballs on you?" Both stopped midstep. "Route 2 has plenty of Pokémon, and if you want to catch any, you'll need some."
"Yeah, good point. But we aren't exactly with money. Even our clothes we're gonna have to pay Rose back for these." John shrugged, as Kev groaned.
"Don't sweat it, you two. I always carry a few spares on hand," Leon grinned, taking out eight pokéballs, and handing four to John, and four to Kev. "Good luck you two." He said, as he sent out his Charizard and hopped on it. John and Kev quickly grabbed their phones and snapped a scan of the giant Pokémon.
"Charizard, the Flame Pokémon. A Fire/Flying Type. Charizard's giant wings allow it to fly at an altitude of 4,600 Feet, it spits fires hot enough to melt boulders. This pokémon is Level 65 and knows the moves Fire Blast, Air Slash, Solar Beam, and Ancient Power; its ability is Blaze, and is registered to Leon." The phone's said. Leon laughed as he got on Charizard's back.
"Yup, Charizard has been on my team since Day One. We've had a Champion time! Isn't that right buddy?" Charizard nodded as it started to take off. "Good luck you two! You too Hop! I'll see you around!" With that, Charizard took off into the sky and away.
"Well he was a...special case." Kev said, as DK nodded his head.
"A headcase I think," John grunted as Stirling laughed in his own language. "Anyway, let's heal up and we'll meet up at Magnolia's house. Allons Y!" John finished as he, Kev, and their Pokémon took off towards the Pokémon Center, as Hop and Sonia looked at the two in confusion and slight wonder.
