"So, how in the world did you manage to get a job with Marcus Muñoz?" Gio asked as he got into the passenger's seat.
"When I first got to England, a family member helped me go back to school to studying journalism. I had to work and go to school to help pay for my studies. I worked at a small bakery and as a waitress when classes finished… that's where I met Yesenia, his wife." I explained as Gio hummed in response.
"So, you've met Yesenia. Just how many people have you met since you left? Because it's been almost eleven years since you left Spain, and nine since you left Italy." Gio asked as he parked outside of the tall building.
"She was there for a conference and decided to eat at the restaurant. It was a coincidence. I also met Esme and her husband Carlisle Marìn but that was just a coincidental accident." I added as I unbuckle myself and pull the small lever.
"Will you be in there long?" Gio asked, concerned.
"He's going to give me a tour of the place and have me sign the contracts… So, I'd say about forty-five minutes more or less." I replied, with a shrug.
"Do you think you can take a cab home? I'd rather not leave your sister for too long. Besides almost three, I have to get home and grab my gear before practice." He explained.
"Sure. I can. Thank you for the ride. I'll see you at home tonight." I replied, before climbing out.
The sound of a window going down caused me to turn, "Good luck, 'manita. See you at home." Gio called before pulling away. (Little sister)
I smiled, waving at them before I entered the building. Only to be stopped by two large men.
"Hey. Woah." I gasped, as I practically crashed into them.
"Tiene usted una cita?" One of them asked. (Do you have an appointment?)
"Si, tengo una cita con el senior Marcus Muñoz," I replied, pulling out my phone to send Marcus a message to explain the situation. (Yes, I have an appointment with Mr. Marcus Muñoz.)
"¿Por qué no tienes un pase de visitante?" The other man asked, suspiciously. (Why don't you have a visitor's pass?)
I stared at them in disbelief. "¿Cómo se supone que voy a tener un pase si ustedes me pararon aquí? Se supone que tengo que hablar con la muchacha de aya, no?" I asked them, irked. (How am I supposed to get a pass if you guys stopped me here? I'm supposed to talk to aya's girl, right?)
"Woah, ey! Qué es lo que está pasando aquí?" I heard a voice say. (Woah! Hey! What is going on here?)
I turned to see a tall, large, black-haired man, dressed in jeans, a light blue button-down, and a dark blazer standing there staring at us with a concerned expression.
"Estos señores no me dejan que pase. No me creen que he venido a ver a Marcus Muñoz… y luego están diciendo que necesito un pase pero no dejan que vaya agarrar uno…" I quickly explained, scowling at them, causing them to flinch back. (These gentlemen do not let me pass. They do not believe that I have come to see Marcus Muñoz ... and then they are saying that I need a pass but they do not let me go get one.)
The man sighs looking at them before looking at me, a flicker of recognition shining in his eyes as he did so.
"Señores, esta dama es la nueva periodista de deportes, se llama Isabella Swan." The man explained, calmly. (Gentlemen, this lady is the new sports journalist, her name is Isabella Swan.)
The men gasped, looking at me before mumbling their apologies and scurrying off.
"So, you're the one everyone has been raving on about. Nice to meet you, Sebastian Muñoz, I'm—" he begins before I interrupt.
"Marcus's son. Yes, your mother has told me lots about you and your sister Mariana." I said, smiling.
"All good things I hope." He said, causing me to laugh with him, as he led me towards the elevator.
"All good things. How is your father doing?" I asked him as we walked into the elevator.
"He is good. Busy as usual, that's why I was sent down to help you." He explained while pushing the button to the top floor.
"So same old Marcus then?" I asked, jokingly as we laughed at them.
"Pretty much." He said laughing.
I laughed along with him as he slowly began to give me a tour of the floor. Explaining the location of everything and the function of the other floors. Ending the tour by showing me my office.
"So, now that you know where everything is located, shall we go and sign your new contract?" He asks.
I nodded, with a smile, as my mind was still reeling at everything I just saw.
I followed him into his office where he produced a file and gestures for me to sit down.
"So, do you agree with the salary, and working hours, and all the other things that the job comes with?" He asked as he slid the file towards me along with a pen.
I nodded, scanning over the details before I took the pen he offered and signed my name on the bottom line.
"Welcome to the team, Miss. Isabella Swan." He said smiling at me as he extended his hand.
"Thank you," I replied, feeling as if a large weight had been lifted.
He then led me back to the elevator before heading down to the lobby to take a picture of me so I could get the keycard to access the building.
Once we went through all of the paperwork and protocol I slowly made my way back to my sister's house.
