Ch. 3: Himitsu no shimei e no pureryūdo
Commando and Midoriya left the agency office and joined the sidekicks as they are greeted by a rather large limousine, and Midoriya is taken aback at this, asking Commando if they are being picked up by the military, which Commando nodded and said that it would be more convenient if the military send a limousine to make things less obvious and maintain the secrecy of the planned meeting.
"…and that is why the secret pick up…"
"I see…"
"Sometimes things like this are for the best."
"…"
"That way we won't attract unwanted attention."
"…you may be right…"
"Hence the secret pick up…understand?"
"Yes sir."
Once inside the limousine, the military representative thanked Commando for accepting the invitation, and he appeared comfortable as he has met Team Commando several times before, but expressed a bit of apprehension upon seeing Midoriya and asked if he is part of Team Commando.
Commando explained the reason and the military representative said he is unsure to let a mere boy be a part of the planned meeting, but Commando assured that Midoriya can be trusted, promising that the boy will be under his watch.
"Do not worry. Midoriya is under my watch."
"Still…"
"It is alright."
"But a high school boy…?"
"I am sure you know about UA Academy..."
"Yes, but…"
"Everything is okay. Do not worry."
"…"
Midoriya blinked his eyes as he overheard the discussion between Commando and the military representative, and there Captain Commando whispered to the boy and explained what the discussion is about, saying that the military representative is seemingly against letting Midoriya in on the invitation seeing that Midoriya would only get in the way.
He advised Midoriya to stick with the Commando team to put the military at ease and to keep them from making assumptions and suspicions so as not to tick them off and to have them put faith in the Commando Team.
"And that's that. Okay?"
"Yes sir."
"Just stick with us and we'll be clear."
"Yes sir."
"And just behave yourself."
"Yes sir."
"Got that?"
"Yes sir."
Nodding, Midoriya behaved himself as the military representative eyed the boy and whispered to Commando and asked if he is sure about bringing the boy along, which Commando assured that Midoriya will be an asset and he will work under his instruction, and urged him not to put any misgivings as he assured that Midoriya will not get in the way.
"Really?"
"Yes."
"You sure that boy won't…"
"I assure you he will be a big help."
"I don't know…"
"I will take responsibility for this."
"Really?"
"Yes."
The rest of Team Commando glanced at the military representative and noted that he seemed to be biased towards Midoriya simply because he is a high school student and believe that kids have no role within the would-be proposed missions and even sees minors as mere nuisance, hence his skepticism towards the boy.
Yet they believe that Midoriya would prove him wrong once they arrive at the military base and Commando will take care of the rest as he has high hopes for Midoriya and the boy will have the chance to prove his detractors wrong.
"That guy…"
"He really has a bad eye for minors…"
"He better not treat Midoriya badly…"
"Relax. Leave it to Commando. He will take care of everything. Got that?"
"Yes sir."
"Yes sir."
"Yes sir."
"Good."
After several minutes the limousine arrived and the guests emerged, where Midoriya stared in awe at seeing the exterior of the base, and Captain Commando tells Midoriya to stick with the team as he reminds him that the soldiers are very strict with security and they would aim their guns on anyone loitering around and perceive them as threats.
He also reminded Midoriya not to make any suggestive body language as the military are highly suspicious towards anyone, pointing out that Midoriya is the first newcomer guest here and the soldiers are going to be wary towards him as they would assume that a mere minor could be perceived as a threat if rubbed the wrong way.
"And that's that. Okay?"
"Yes sir."
"Just stick with us and we'll be clear."
"Yes sir."
"And just behave yourself."
"Yes sir."
"Got that?"
"Yes sir."
Midoriya nodded and stick with the team as the military representative led them inside the base, and some of the soldiers watched them enter, and while they are at ease in seeing Team Commando due to being familiar as Commando has been visiting the base several times before, they are skeptical at Midoriya, wondering what a mere high school boy could do and what Commando intend to do with him and the soldiers wondered if Midoriya would be an asset or a threat to national security.
"Look at that…"
"A high school kid…"
"Is it okay?"
"I don't like kids…"
"They'll just get in the way…"
"Yeah…this is a base…not a school…"
"Commando better not make a blunder…"
"Indeed…"
Soon the team arrived at the debriefing room where the military general shows up and thanked Commando for accepting his summons and there he went to the point as he opened the projector and revealed the reason for the summon, stating that Team Commando will be engaging a rescue mission, and it would be at a foreign land.
Commando raised an eyebrow upon seeing the map of the foreign land and asked the military general if he is sure about this, which the military general nodded and said that the mission is very crucial and a top secret that the press and even some politicians are kept on the dark to prevent leakage that may lead to complications and panic.
"Is this…?"
"Yes. That is the one."
"And we are the only ones to know about this?"
"That's right. No one outside the base know this."
"Not even the Prime Minister?"
"Yes. Even the emperor is unaware of this."
"…"
"…"
Commando appeared skeptical yet he asked the military general what this rescue mission is and why is Team Commando chosen for this mission, in which the military general explained the reasons, and as the two men discussed, Captain Commando, Jannetty, Sho and Hoover watched on and whispered among themselves, noting that this meeting is indeed a top secret.
They also noted that this meeting is so secret that they believe that even the Minister of Justice and the Prime Minister are probably on the dark about this which might explain why the secret meeting and why only a select few are brought in on this.
"Top secret, huh?"
"Looks like it."
"So secret that even the Royal family are out of the loop."
"Guess so."
"To avoid complications."
"Fine with me."
"Me too."
"Yeah."
Midoriya just remained quiet as he listens to the conversation, and there the military general tells Commando and his team to come with him as he has something to show, but stated that Midoriya would remain here, which Commando asked why, saying that Midoriya is under his wing, hence there is no reason to exclude him.
However, the military general said he rather not take any risks and advised Commando to follow instructions as this is standard procedure to avoid leakage, and said he is wary towards Midoriya due to him being a minor.
"And that's that."
"Come on now…he's under my…"
"Standard procedure."
"But…"
"Security reasons. That's why."
"…"
"Sorry, but the kid stays."
"…"
Not wanting to cause unnecessary fuss, Commando instructed Midoriya to wait here and promised that he would be back and inform him of what he is about to be assigned, which Midoriya nodded and said it is not a problem.
Captain Commando whispered to Commando and asked if this is okay, as he felt that it is unfair to leave Midoriya here, but Commando said it cannot be helped as the military here are very strict about security, and to win their trust is to play along with their security rules.
"It can't be helped."
"But…"
"They make the rules. We just have to follow."
"But leaving Midoriya like that…"
"I know…but there's nothing we can do."
"…"
"We'll just play along with their rules."
"…"
As Team Commando went to another room with the military general, Midoriya is left alone and waited patiently yet he wondered if this is okay since he never saw himself as a security risk as he is following Commando's instructions and not cause an unnecessary scene here.
However, a pair of military soldiers came, and due to them unaware that Team Commando are here and being debriefed, they assumed that Midoriya is an intruder and drew their guns and aimed at the boy, looking ready to go for the kill as they are not taking any exception, disregarding the fact that Midoriya is a minor.
Midoriya stared wide-eyed as he saw what is happening yet he remained calm and explained the situation, yet the two soldiers were not convinced and went closer, and pressed the nozzle of their guns on the boy's cheek and ordered him to face down on the ground, despite him telling them that the military general instructed him to wait here.
"Face down on the floor."
"Now."
"No."
"What?"
"What did you say?"
"The military general told me to wait here. The pro hero team of Team Commando is with the military general, and I was instructed to wait here."
"Get to the floor."
"Or you'll be sorry."
"No. I said that the military general told me to wait here and not leave."
The two soldiers were unwilling to hear him out, and believing that he is stalling them, one of the soldiers whipped the gun on Midoriya's left temple and he is sent to the ground, but despite being busted open, Midoriya got up and is ready to defend himself as one of the soldiers brought out a radio to raise the alarm that an intruder is ready to attack.
Midoriya realized that the soldiers are acting reckless and he felt that there is no other recourse and is about to activate the Full Cowling, but then Captain Commando barges in and told Midoriya to calm down, but Midoriya explained the situation which prompted him to stand in front of Midoriya and told the two soldiers that Midoriya is telling the truth.
The soldiers, however, are unwilling to listen and tells Captain Commando to surrender as well, causing a stand-off between the two sides.
"Surrender now. You and that brat."
"This is your only warning."
"Then why not call the military general through your radio to clear this up?"
"Face the floor."
"Now."
"You two are making a grave error."
"You had your chance. Now we resort to force."
"We will take you down for breach of security."
"Damn."

Hope you liked this chapter, as Midoriya began his work study under a military pro hero and his first assignment did not bode well when he enters a military base and given the cold treatment despite Commando insisting that Midoriya is with him…
And now a pair of soldiers are picking on him…
