Chapter 3#1

"Why don't you join us, Alice?" Edward called loudly. I could hear all the whispers and murmurs. Jasper was right behind me. I know for sure my family would be surprised. I sighed heavily.

The battlefield was divided into two parts. One side with Edward and family and the witnesses. The other sides with the vultures and their witnesses. Bella and the family reached out to touch me, but I immediately took steps towards Volturi and Aro. We did not have time for the welcome. "Alice has been searching for her witnesses these last weeks," he said to the ancients. "And she does not come back empty-handed. Alice, why don't you introduce the witnesses you've brought?"

Caius snarled. "The time for witnesses is past! Cast your vote, Aro!"

Aro raised one finger to silence his brother, his eyes glued to my face.

I nodded and stepped forward. "This is Nahuel and his aunt Huilen." I could feel the stares I was getting from the witnesses and the Volturi members.

"Huilen speak," Aro commanded. "Be our witness and tell us everything."

Huilen glanced at me, she was hesitating. I nodded, encouraging her to speak. Kachiri also encouraged her.

"I am his biological mother's sister. About one and a half centuries ago, she got pregnant from a Dark Angel. I warned her, but her bruises were also not enough for her to stop. Our parents also tried to stop her. She decided to have the child. She died after giving him birth. I made a promise to her that I will take care of him. I took him away from my parents and other people. He turned me into a vampire when he was born, my skin burned a lot and I thought I would die of the pain. But I lived and we are together ever since"

Aro listens to everything carefully, with all attention. Then he turned to Nahuel.

"So you are 150 years old?" Aro asked.

"Plus or minus a decade," Nahuel answered in a calm and warm voice.

"Then, at what age did you mature?" Aro asked.

"More or less at the age of 7 I was fully grown," Nahuel explained.

"And you have not grown since?" Aro continued his interrogation.

"Not that I know of," Nahuel answered.

It went for a few minutes or so. Nahuel told them about his diet being either human food or blood.

"My father considers himself a scientist, who thinks he's creating new super-race vampires."

I felt a range of anger that he was doing an experiment that involved the danger of revealing us. What's wrong with this man.

" We'll talk to him later," Aro said. It's his job to make sure that we, vamps are in secret and we live with it. "Brother, I think we should leave. There is no law broken, yet", he turned to his witness. "We won't fight today." Turning to us again he said, "We are leaving, my friend Carlisle. I am so glad I can call you my friend again."

"Thank you so much," Carlisle said. And they left. They walked in the forest back.

"Did they go?" Bella questioned. Edward laughed

"Seriously Bella, they are gone," I said and laughed with Edward.

Cheers were heard, and howls were made. Rosalie hugged and kissed Emmett. Esme hugged me and Jasper tightly.

'We are together now, forever,' Edward looked at me, smiled lightly, and nodded.
