I do not own Hetalia okay? I honestly don't have much to say here than I did in chapter 1 for this intro. Anyway, enough of this A/N, on with the fic!
October 1st 1918
(From the diary of Alfred F. Jones.)
Nattie and I got some news today. I frankly don't know how to take it. So we had gotten a letter about how a buddy of Vanya's named Ernest told us of an attack he was in and how he was taken to the hospital back in August and because of slow speeds of mail from Europe, even if it is from the military because of freaking U-boats and crap it didn't come in until like a week or so ago. We've been on pins and needles and Nattie has been most worried. We had also told Mattie and Katy as well and while Mattie seemed like there wasn't too much wrong, having been out in that shit himself. Katy did start to cry with worry. He then took her back to her house and from there, it's been nerve racking. At least until today.
Apparently only this Major Bonnefoy from the French military just sent the letter to this place, which it sounds like he was talking a bit to Vanya before he did. So he is coming home and from what Mattie said it should be in the next few months whenever the doctors say he's good to go as there won't be much kick back like there was with him. Some tried to argue he was fit enough. Nah if those army doctors got their way Mattie'd be dead by now. He has a hard time getting around now as it is. No way he could charge a trench like that! Although I am going to talk to Mattie and Katy about adding a ramp. It seems that Vanya's paralyzed from the letter so that will make getting around his house kind of hard. Like mine, it's one of those with a few flights of stairs. That can't be good for him when he gets home. I mean it's going to be though for Nicky because he won't be able to go swimming with him like he promised but he will finally get to meet Anya and little Ivan. And I guess I can take solace in the fact that no matter how long this war drags on, that if nothing else, Vanya is home. Now we just have to make him feel like there's nothing wrong with him. I mean I don't think Mr. Seward will think a thing of letting him back to work if the only thing wrong with him is that he needs a wheelchair to get around…. The rest of him still works… No matter what, he's like a brother to me and I want to look out for him and Mattie too.
So how was that? Good? Bad? Short? Long? Let me know in a review. This story is intended to stand independent of both The Longing of the Heart and The Healing of the Heart which this story will have a difference from both naturally. Now if this will be as long as those, that I do not know yet and I won't update as fast as some of the others I have. But anyway, remember to read (well you just did) and to review. Ciao for now,
