Something I wanted to say to all yall before I continue. I am HYPED to see how popular this fic has gotten over night, so for now I think ill focus on this one. My other fic will still receive updates of course.
With that out of the way, I want to stress that the first chapter of this was written 5 YEARS ago. If you notice a small inconstancy in the first few chapters, it's because I literally have no clue where I was originally going with this :P but that is not to say I don't have good ideas for it, and I'm just as excited to see where this takes me as all of you are.
Also, this IS a serious fic, but that won't stop me from keeping a light comedic tone at times.
Well, enough about that.
also if anyone is confused, no Naruto material (none that I know of) describes Kakashi's mother in any detail, so she is technically Oc.
I do not own Naruto or any related material.
I gazed up at the massive pink kitsune in awe as it's wide toothy smile beamed down at me.
"SOOOOOOO." Its high-pitched booming voice echoed through the room. "My name is Kitsumara, and I want to just… apologize." As it spoke its voice became periodically quieter, and as it finished 'Kitsumara' spoke in a low, sheepish tone. "You see, my little brother was sorting souls for the first time the other day, and we found out he kind of… misinformed some of you."
"Okay okay." I shook my head. "You're going to need tot start at the beginning." I stopped and thought about my conversation with the other fox days before, and let out a heavy sigh. "I have NO idea what's going on here."
The fox brought its finger-like paws to the bridge of its nose and let out a small growl. "Oh gods you were the first one." She mumbled. "I am SO sorry. Did my brother explain ANYTHING about your mission?"
I thought hard and was able to recall one distinct fact. "all he said was that I had an 'ss rank mission.'"
"Alright. From the top it is." The pink fox stretched her 'arms' in a human manor before beginning. "You are a soul with a high compatibility with divine magic, which means we can connect you to the divine tree. The divine tree allows us to bridge you to other worlds and grant you special magic to fulfill 'dutys' in those other worlds. Does that make sense."
I nodded as I followed along, by squinted in confusion at one part. "if you guys have the power, why use human souls to do these jobs? Wouldn't it be more effective to use… whatever you are?"
"A common question. Divine's, or angel's as your people call us, are forbidden to DIRECTLY interact with worlds because the gods believe that it would be unfair to the mortals living there." The fox shrugged at my skeptical gaze. "Hey I would love to just wave a hand and make every evil monster vanish, but then YOU wouldn't get cool powers."
I retracted my glare. That was a fair point. "So." I continued. "I get all that, but I'm more concerned about the whole… 'SS' rank for my mission. What am I supposed to do, and why is the rank so hard?"
The fox explained as best she could. 'Counterforce guardians' like me were deployed to correct dangerous alternate dimensions and worlds. Anything from E-C was a normal issue like a couple that was supposed to hook up never met or a main character's pet ran away. These missions normally only took a few days, and the powers you were given were selected specifically for the mission. B-S rank missions involved a serious issue, like a main character stumbled across an enemy too early or in the case of S ranks a WAR that wasn't supposed to happen brakes out. These missions could take anywhere from months to a decade. For S ranks, People were allowed to live full lifetimes in the world if they wished.
Then there were SS ranks. If a world was classified as SS, it meant that a fallen was present. A fallen was a divine who decided to fuck with the human realm. The gods weakened their powers when they left heaven, but they still needed to be dealt with.
Apparently every Divine 'fell' once every few hundred years, it was a 'stress relief' method for them. that meant there was no end of 'missions' for 'Guardians' to take.
"And your mission." Kitsumara continued after finishing her summery. "Is to prevent a Fallen named Trevor Harkens from consuming the nine tailed beasts."
I tilted my head at that. "The tailed beasts? Why does this guy want to eat them?"
The fox smiled. "Well, tailed beasts are known as 'Pseudo-Divines'. They aren't truly immortal like real divines, but they ARE immortal within their own worlds. If Trevor consumes them, he will regain his true divine power, and then that world will burn in fire."
I gulped at that. "Oh, is that all?"
She nodded and waved a hand through the air. "Luckily for you this particular Divine is weak physically, and with his power stripped he will need to use mortals to do all the dirty work. Since he just arrived before you were sent down, I'd say you have until… the chunin exams before he STARTS working towards his plan."
I nodded and considered the information. "Okay, so this guy wants to destroy the world, and he will be on a similar schedule to the Akatsuki?"
Kitsumara pulled out what looked like note cards and looked through them for a moment. "Oh! Good news on that front little one." She beamed another smile at me. "The world your in has a much more reasonable Danzo Shimura, so the man known as Yahiko was never killed. The Akatsuki still exists, but its goal is different!" she frowned as she continued reading. "Our intelligence gathering from this world is not perfect, but it seems like they may still be enemies of Konoha. But at least they wont be working with Trevor."
Her explanation was again met with a nod from me. "Alright, that helps a little, but if this Trevor is going to gather servants wont they be really strong?"
The Pink divine creature shook her head. "Honestly usually Divines don't bother worrying who they take as subordinates. Once we fall our power becomes 'Hollow', and with this power we can turn any living creature into an Oni."
Sweat dripped down my forehead as I processed that. "Oni, how bad are those going to be to deal with?"
The fox shrugged. "it depends. In this world's terms any animal he turns will likely be genin level, any Genin/Chunin he turns will be high jonin level, and anyone stronger than that will be nearly impossible to turn."
I tilted my head. "Why would that be impossible?" I muttered.
"In short, willpower." She continued flipping through cards as she spoke. "The stronger someone is, the harder it is to force them into submission. Obviously, you should grow as fast as you can in terms of power, but be warned that if a Jonin, or gods forbid someone like this 'Obito' character joins Trevor, they will be VERY dangerous. I mean Six paths sage levels of power."
I sighed. Of COURSE I was going to end up fighting a STRONGER Obito. The man could take out the entire main cast of the show If he wanted NORMALY. What would that look like with evil GOD power mixed in?
Bad. Very bad.
"I'm afraid that I have nothing further to share, the rest you will have to play by ear." Her grin became less playful, and took on an almost endearing look. "know this however, if you succeed, you will be able to enjoy some time in heaven. Then you can take on new missions at your leisure! Complete enough missions, and you might even get a god to turn you into a divine being! Then YOU can go fuck up alternate worlds when you get bored!"
I deadpanned. While that was… and AWSOME reward for doing these 'missions', I felt like I was still missing something critical. ''So Kitsumara, is there anything you can do about the 'pet' I was given? Your brother dident really let me 'choose' one."
"Ah." She looked away sheepishly and scratched at one of her ears. "sorry, but we already created that, so no take backs. You should find it in the world sometime soon. Trust me, you'll know it when you see it." She looked back at me and raised an eyebrow. "You know, you should be happy that my superiors decided to let you keep the gamer power."
I blinked. "Superiors?" I whispered to myself. "Wait, why wouldn't I be able to keep my power?"
The giant fox let out a sound that resembled a cough and a laugh. "Ah well, the 'gamer' power is normally forbidden for guardians. Some guardian named "Wainwright Williams" took the gamer power into over 40 versions of the RWBY universe. That entire branch of the multiverse had to be quarantined after he attempted to create an interdimensional harem…."
Oh.
"Hey Kitsumara, what is this Trevor like?" I asked, trying to steer the conversation elsewhere.
Her smile turned sheepish again and she looked away from me. "Oh you know, he basically just a average looking human, very skilled with ranged weapons, and he has the personality of… err… Trevor from GTA V…"
Before I could respond to that revelation, I was suddenly assaulted by the sun glaring through my bedroom window in the real world. well, the real Naruto world that is.
"How the FUCK is THAT psycho considered EASY!" I screamed incoherently as I scratched at my from GTA? I don't care how weak this guy was, that personality made him DANGEROUS.
"Ugggg." I muttered. "When am I going to catch a break?"
I got up to make myself breakfast. I didn't even question the fact that captain crunch sat pleasantly in my cupboard. I didn't know WHY it existed here, but I did know that I would gladly be eating it.
*knock knock*
I heard the banging on my door just as I finished my first bowl. Sure I dident NEED to eat, but ill be damned if I dident sit down and enjoy the food now and again.
"Hello?" I muttered softly as I opened the door, revealing…
Oh for FUCKS SAKE-
"Hello miss Hatake. Remember me?" Orochimaru's slender frame towered over my tiny figure as I blinked slowly.
"Oh hey, what brings you here." I screamed internally, but my Gamers Mind seemed to keep me calm enough to respond appropriately.
"I am here to be your escort for the day, did young Kakashi not tell you?" the man seemed sincere enough, but hell this was a S ranked ninja, so its not like I would be able to read him. "Ah I see. You have to get a medical checkup before you enter the ninja program fufufu."
The weird laugh threw me off for a moment, but I didn't have any real reason NOT to believe this version of the snake summoner. "Oh, do I need anything or?"
The snake chuckled again. "No no, just get dressed and meet me outside. A few others will be joining us."
It was then I noticed, behind the Sanin's figure was a group of kids. Six in all, and among them was a blond boy with vibrant blue eyes.

Well, that removed any trepidation I had about going with the snake man.
"Sorry, I wasn't informed. Give me just a minute." The pale man nodded and shut the door as I quickly opened my inventory. Taking my day clothes out of my inventory I placed them on my avatar on screen, and moved my PJ's into my inventory. With a blink I was dressed in a purple t-shirt and black sweat pants with black sneakers.
"Alright I'm ready!" I muttered as I swung the door open, only to catch a momentary look of surprise from Orochimaru.
Oh, maybe changing outfits in less than ten seconds was kind of noticeable.
"Ah yes… well if everyone is present, come along children." The man motioned for all the kids present to follow and thus we all fell in line. My first thought was to go right up to Naruto and befriend him, but then I noticed one of the other kids. Pale skin, black hair and eyes, if it weren't for the genuine happy expression on his face I would have sworn that was… Sai?
"Hey." I let out a greeting as I approached the pale boy.
"Hi!" the childish outburst really caught me off guard, but I kept calm as beamed a wide smile my way. "Are you excited! We get to be real ninjas!"
I chuckled and stuck out a hand. "Sure am, my names Takara!"
The boy's smile dident let up as he took hold of my hand and gave a firm shake. "Nice to meet you Takara! My names Tadashi!"
I paused for a moment but shook off my hesitation. Figures that he wouldn't be called Sai since he dident seem to be in 'the foundation.' Not yet at least. Come to think of it Kitsumara had mentioned this world had a more 'reasonable' Danzo, so was ROOT even a thing? Those were questions for latter however, as yet another shining smile broke into my field of vision.
"Hey! Did you say your name was Takara!?" the blonds voice was a bit loud, but I smiled back at him regardless.
"Sure am! We were in the orphanage together, remember? How have you been Naruto?" I had to pause again as the look on his face drastically changed. It was… hard to tell what emotion he was conveying, but it was a strange mix of joy and something akin to relief.
"You.. remember my.." he started with a whisper but shook his head and smiled again. "I never got to thank you properly! The old man told me you were the one who noticed I was missing."
I gave a soft nod as we all continued walking. "Well what can I say, we orphans gotta stick together right?"
Being treated like any other kid must have been a new experience, because the blonde kid practically squealed. "You bet! Hey, do you think we're going to be in the same class?"
Tadashi piped up from my other side as the hospital came into view. "Well, that depends on the test results."
Naruto groaned at that. "Test? Nobody told my we had to take a test!"
I laughed at that and shook my head. "No no Naruto." I muttered as I recalled some of 'Takara's' memories. "we don't need to do anything, the doctors will handle that."
The blond tilted his head in confusion, but Tadashi continued my explanation. "There are two classes per grade in the academy. One is for people who don't have much natural strength, and kids who end up in that class all go straight to the Genin corps."
Naruto nodded in understanding, though whether or not he actually understood was unclear. "Okay, okay. So whats the other class?"
This time I explained, utilizing my artificial memories. "The other class is for kids with strong potential, mostly the kids from the clans. If we graduate from that class we get to become Genin under a jonin teacher!"
Naruto nodded again before adding a question. "Okay I get all that I think but.. whats the test? Do we just punch something really hard?"
Both Tadashi and I shook our heads. "No Naruto." The pale boy began. "Today they are going to unlock our chakra."
Suddenly the presence of Orochimaru made sense. If Naruto's seal acted strange when his chakra was unlocked, they would want a seal master present.
With that our conversation turned to a more superfluous direction, discussing favorite foods and the like. In the short time of our walk, we had formed the beginnings of friendship. I smiled dumbly at that thought as we all entered a chamber in the back of the hospital that was used specifically to test the new generations of ninja. Clan kids didn't bother using it according to Tadashi, since their family's usually had their own personal training chambers.
Damn rich kids.
One by one the seven of us were called into the room and the door was closed. The first kid was placed into class B, the Genin corps class. Despite that fact she seemed happy with the outcome, I suppose as a real orphan being a shinobi in any capacity was a one-way ticket to a warm meal and a roof to sleep under. The second kid wasn't so lucky. He did not have enough chakra to qualify as a shinobi, and would loose his place in the program. I wasn't sure exactly what would happen to him in that situation, but I was sure they wouldn't just throw the kid onto the street.
The next two kids were both placed in class B, then finally it was Tadashi's turn. His testing seemed to take a little longer than the ones before him, but eventually he stepped out of the room with a wide smile. He flashed his test results to show us the big A stamped on it. Naruto and I both congratulated his as Naruto was called next, though this time Orochimaru entered the room as well, confirming my suspicion that he was here to keep the nine tails in check.
There was no need for it however, as the blond eventually burst out of the room with a smile that shown like the sun. "ALRIGHT! GUESS WHO'S IN A-CLASS! BELIEVE IT!"
I snorted at the infamous verbal tick as my own name was called, and I passed through the door right as Orochimaru rejoined the group. "Good luck Takara!" came Tadashi's voice as the door shut behind me.
It was nice to have an emotionally stable sai, though I wondered if he would still use beast scroll jutsu's?
"Hello miss Hatake." Came the voice of a young woman. I turned my head to see a woman in her late twenties/ early thirties. She had black hair and brown eyes, as well as a chest to rival Tsunade!
Im talking PUMPKINS
"I am Doctor Muni, ill be handling your examination today." She called me over with a beckoning wave of her hand. "Please take a seat and lift your shirt."
From there the test seemed like a normal checkup. She tested blood pressure, heartrate, and all the other little things doctors normally checked during a standard exam. Then things started to differ when the doctor strapped a strange cuff on my wrist and told me to flex my fingers. As I did a computer screen off to the left lit up with numbers and data. At my questioning gaze Dr. Muni explained. "This cuff contains some sealing jutsu. It will tell me your blood type and whether or not you have any genetic health issues." After glancing at the screen for a few minutes her face scrunched up and she turned to me. "Strange…. I'm sorry ill need to grab another cuff, this one seems to be malfunctioning."
Remembering my conversation with Kakashi, I quickly suggested she check my file which sat on the desk next to her. She seemed skeptical, but after skimming said file for a moment her eyes suddenly widened.
"I see, my apologies. It seems this data is fine." She turned back to her computer to type up some notes, and I laughed as I noticed the 'data' she had been concerned about was my age. Evidently the fuinjutsu in the cuff was reading my real age, accounting for the years I had been frozen as well as the years I had been unfrozen.
To be fair, your machine telling you the nine year old was over twenty was usually call for concern.
I was curious as to what exactly my file had said about me, but I ignored that curiosity as it was finally time for the moment of truth!
"Alright kiddo, time to unlock your chakra. Lay on the table and lift up your shirt for me again." I obeyed quickly, giddy with excitement at the thought of unlocking my-
"COLD!" I jumped a bit as the doctor placed a hand on my stomach.
"Sorry hun, but this is where chakra is stored in the body. Just bear with my while I help it circulate through your system." I calmed down as I adjusted to the Icey feeling of her hand. I HATED doctors with cold hands. But I remained calm regardless, because I was READY to start walking on walls and crap!
After a minute I began to feel a strange sensation through my body, and after a few more minutes the doctor removed her hand. "Alright Takara, looks like you be joining class B."
I blinked as I registered her words, staring owlishly at her as she stamped a big B on my file. "W-what? But… Why class B?"
The woman sent a small, knowing smile my way. "I'm sorry hun, but your chakra levels are far to low. To be honest, the only reason your even getting into class B is because you have recommendations. Without those you wouldn't have made the program at all."
I dident argue with her. It not like I had a reason too, she was just doing her job after all. No, I was pissed at my SELF. I should have invested in my INT! instead I left it at five and my chakra points were too low to do anything! sure I had perfect control, but how could this doctor ever know that?
I screwed up.
I don't remember the walk home. I think Naruto and Tadashi tried to cheer me up, but even with the gamers mind helping me, I was beating myself up. NOW what? I couldn't join a proper team from the Genin Corps! Funnily enough it was the pasty traitorous Sanin who eased my concerns somewhat. "Takara." He called me over as all the other kids returned to their own apartments. "May I speak to you for a moment?"
I wandered back over to him and nodded, still dejectedly clinging to the paperwork in my hands. "I know, that you were looking forward to joining your friends in class B. but I want you too keep in mind, it IS possible for you to become an apprentice. If you can impress a jonin."
I smiled at the sentiment. "Thank you. But that's not why im sad. I know I can still become a proper ninja if I put the effort in but…"
"But you wanted to be in the same class as your new friends." The snake smiled at me. It was a bit unnerving with my knowledge from the 'original' Naruto world, but this version deserved the benefit of the doubt. "let me tell you something a very brave shinobi once said to me, when I experienced a similar struggle." The Sanin sat on the steps leading up to my apartment, and I joined him swiftly. "'Many of life's failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up'"
I looked up at him inquisitively. "Who said that?"
The snake stood and began to walk away, but after he took a few steps he turned his head slightly, just enough so that I could see his eyes. "That? Those were your father's words. Have a good evening Takara."
I blinked as the man disappeared in a puff of smoke, but smiled at the endearing 'lesson.' It was… strange to have the snake man act so kind, but I guess this world really was different than the fictional universe I was accustomed too. I needed to get out of the habit of judging people based on their 'Naruto' counter parts. This WASENT Naruto, this was the elemental nations. Everyone here was a PERSON, not just a side character.
And if I was going to defeat 'Trevor', I needed to make sure I rose to the top of these people as quickly as possible.

Transposing Kiln
1000 EXP
Would you like a tutorial for the transposing Kiln?
I quickly shut my front door and rushed to my bedroom, looking over my shoulder to make sure I was alone, I clicked on the tutorial button.
Transposing Kiln: when Oni or quest enemies are defeated, they will drop 'soul cores'. The transposing kiln can convert these soul cores into Items, skills, and an assortment of other rewards! Rewards depend on LUK, as well as the enemy killed. More dangerous enemy's drop better rewards.
Ah yes. Of course, this is a fucking soul's game. I sighed and swiped away the screen as my focus drifted to my other reward. "What the hell is a dungeon quest?"
The moment the words left my mouth a new screen appeared.
Would you like to enter the tutorial Dungeon? [Recommended Level: 1]
"fuck it, level 1 sound safe enough." I clicked on the message, and instantly I found myself in a strange area. A lush green plain stretched out before me , two moons illuminated the space with a dull white light, and finally a multitude of blobs varying in sizes and colors hopped around.
Slimes.
Tutorial Dungeon: Slimy Land
I chuckled at the goofy name as the screen shifted, explaining the mechanics of the game to me.
Dungeons- while using dungeons your physical body will remain in the real world in a sleep like state. Due to this Dungeons can not be used while enemies are nearby. Time within dungeons is different from the real world, one hour here is 5 minutes in real time. Dying in dungeons will lock said dungeon for 24 hours and will reduce real world HP to 0.
My bad mood from ending up in the weaker class vanished instantly. Free training in a damn time chamber? AND I couldn't actually die in here?
Heck yeah.
"Alright game! What's the objective of this Dungeon?"
New Daily Quest unlocked
Defeat 50 slimes (0/50)
New weekly Quest Unlocked
Defeat 1 Queen Slime (0/1)
So, I could only do this dungeon once a day? No. I realized. I just only got quest rewards once a day, and the boss quest once a week. I would need to see what the individual monsters dropped to see if this was worth farming more than once a day. And if not? A quest was a quest.
Well no time like the present! Thinking my situation through, I found a slime that was isolated from the others. Then I called out 'observe', and unlike the last time I tired it this time I got a little description.
Green slime LvL-1
Element- acid
HP- 50
CP- 5
DMG- 2
My skill gave no more information than that. But its not like I needed any. This would be easy because of one simple fact.
Now that my Chakra was unlocked, My melee damage scaled with STR and DEX.
And my DEX was 25, and I got 1 point of damage for every level in DEX. My STR was 5, and I got 2 for every point I had in that stat.
My unarmed attacks did 35 damage at the moment.
BUT things got better.
For one, thanks to my CNT every enhanced attack would only cost 1 CP. And my [Monster] title, which I quickly equipped, doubled my CP regeneration.
My regen rate was 2 every minute, so now I had 4 every minute. BUT if I used meditation, I would double THAT.
Which meant I would get full CP back every 2 minutes.
My DEX also increased my throwing weapon damage, and there were plenty of pebbles around. Picking one up I used observe.
Pebble.
It's a rock.
1 DMG (+5)
So my DEX added 1 damage every five levels? Seemed fair.
Picking up a bunch of the rocks I threw one at the slime before me.
-6 HP
New Passive Skill unlocked!
Through your actions, [Throwing weapons- Basic] has been unlocked
[Throwing weapons- Basic]- rocks, Kunai, and shuriken throwing weapons are more accurate and travel faster. LvL (1/20)
I giggled childishly. This was going to be fun.
After I used a few pebbles the slime exploded into dust. Then I got a very small notification in the corner of my vision.
+20 RYO
+1 EXP
After that I spent the better part of 2 hours killing slimes and meditating. Once it was over I tallied up my earnings.
I had made 500 RYO and earned 50 EXP. As I killed the last of the slimes a rumbling sound shook the artificial world I was in. then out of nowhere, a massive slime appeared.
Queen Slime LvL 5
HP 300
CP 50
Basic DMG 25
Special DMG 100
Oh… that's one big mother. I looked down at the stones in my hand and sighed as I dropped them. "Imma need a bigger rock."
Deciding against simply throwing rocks at this thing, I waited for it to make the first move. I dident have to wait long as it LAUNCHED into the air, its 10 ft tall body aiming right for my as it descended.
"Shit shit shit SHIT SHIT!" I called out as I sprinted away-
Faster that I had ever moved before.
My CP hadent gone down, but my speed had clearly been chakra enhanced. Maybe I used 1 point every few steps or something? That dissent matter, what did matter-
Was that this big slime was way too slow to hit me.
I ran in and punched the creature, dashing away as a trendle of its body morphed into a sort of arm to swing at me.
Queen Slime LvL 5
HP 265
CP 45
So it had used 5 CP to use its jumping attack, and I had done 35 DMG?
This was going to be a piece of cake-
"SHIT!" I called out again as it jumped once more.
The next twenty minutes went about the same. Me dashing in, the creature swinging at my and jumping a few times, and me dashing away to doge.
Then I finally killed it with one final punch.

Relived to be done with the fight, I quickly allocated my new stat points from the two level ups I had managed.
Takara Hatake
Lvl 9 [100/1100]
HP- 250/250
CP- 100/100 [locked]
Title- [monster]
VIT- 10
STR-5
DEX-25
INT-15
WIS-10
CNT-100 [MAX]
LUK-10
Stat points (0)
I had gotten 13 points to allocate. Three went into VIT to boost my HP again, then 10 went into INT because I was still pissed about ending up in Class B.
I smiled as the fake world dissipated and I found myself in my bed. "Well, tomorrows a new day." I mumbled to myself. "but today? I need a nap."
It was only 1 in the afternoon, but I didn't care much. All I knew was that this was nap time!
And thus, my head hit the pillows with a thud and I was out cold.
Hokage Tower. That night.
Four figures stood before the desk of the third Hokage as the elderly man puffed on his smoking pipe. "So." Hiruzen Sarutobi began. "it all comes to this."
One of the four, a tall man who's face was wrapped in bandages, responded with a polite nod. "Yes Lord Hokage, that is our current situation. Would you prefer me to remain in the room while you discuss or-?"
Another of the four, Danzo, rose from the chair he had been seated in. "No, I think I speak for all of us when I say I would prefer to keep you in sight." Danzo's one visible eye glared like that of a viper as he spoke. "It is not often we allow foreign ninja into the heart of our village, Mister Momochi."
Zabuza Momochi, 'Demon of the blood mist,' stood before the hokage, His 'military advisor' Danzo, and the two village elders. The older woman Koharu Utatane, and the old man Homura Mitokado. Zabuza had been initially been treated as hostile when he appeared at the village gate, but after an hour with Morino Ibiki, this little meeting had been arranged.
"Hiruzen." Koharu was the first to speak up. "This news is troubling to say the least. If there really is a genocide going on, taking sides could lead to a new great ninja war."
"Hmmm." Homura interrupted. "That may be true, but if the fourth mizukage is really targeting bloodline user's, who is to say that he will stop with his own people?"
Danzo nodded in agreement. "That's true Hamura. Even if we ignore this conflict, there's no telling whether or not the mizukage wont move on to the bloodlines of other villages."
To his credit Zabuza stayed silent as the three spokes. Partially due to his own patience, and in part due to the 20 ANBU surrounding the room, any of whom could easily kill him, especially while he was unarmed.
Koharu interjected once again, her face displaying far more concern than the others. "What concerns me more, is that our intelligence in Kiri failed to report in on this. Lord Danzo, what of the ANBU? Have you received anything regarding these purges?"
"No." Danzo closed his eye and sighed inaudibly. "My agents in Kiri have been reporting high tensions, but nothing about mass slaughter."
"And yet." The Hokage finally spoke up, tapping his index finger on the desk before him. "We have confirmed the legitimacy of Zabuza's information." He held up a vanilla folder which the mist ninja had been carrying when he arrived in Konoha. It was a dossier of the people slaughtered by the Mizukage's 'death squads', as well as a letter from the leader of Kiri's 'River' faction, the official name for a group of rebels attempting to overthrow the Mizukage, Yagura Karatachi, and take back Kiri.
"Mei Terumi." Homura mumbled. "What do we know about this woman? Other than the fact that she powerful enough to be considered a Kage level ninja?"
Danzo pulled out a document, where he had been hiding it the others did not know. "Mei Terumi, an S rank Kiri ninja best known for defeating a Jinchuriki during her chunin exam, and surviving against the third Tsuchikage in open combat during a border dispute five years ago. She is also the granddaughter of Genji Terumi. Does that name sound familiar Hiruzen?"
The hokages cold expression tightened ever so slightly as he recalled an old memory. "Ah, He was the advisor to the second Mizukage. It was his plan that led to the downfall of Uzugakure if I am not mistaken?"
Zabuza's body tensed slightly at that. He had been sent by Terumi to gain Konoha's allegiance in the war, but this conversation seemed to be heading in a bad direction.
"Yes indeed." Danzo responded. "But that is inconsequential. Kumo and Suna, According to the note." The war hawk gestured to the file in the Hokage's hands. "have already refused to take a side in this civil war. That provides both a danger, as well as a great benefit in lending aid to this rebellion."
Koharu smiled. "Very true. By participating we risk creating tension with the other great nations, BUT if we help Kirigakure, and we are the ONLY nation to aid them…"
"Then Konoha will have a powerful bond with Kiri." Danzo finished the thought. A few years ago the idea of 'alliances' would have made him scoff, but he was a different man now. "The land of water houses many rare resources, and we could potentially open trade with Kiri if all goes well."
"So, what do you suggest Danzo, since you seem to have taken an interest in this situation." Hiruzen looked to his old teammate with a raised eyebrow.
Danzo found his gaze drawn to the Photos of the Four Hokage hanging on the wall above the current Hokages head. "If we move quietly, we can provide basic humanitarian aid without alerting the other nations. Then once we have a better idea of the situation we can decide how to proceed."
Finally, Zabuza reached the limit of his patients, and spoke up. "Lord Hokage, does this mean you-"
The leader of Konoha raised a hand for silence, and Zabuza promptly closed his mouth, knowing that even with his sword he probably wouldn't be able to win a fight against 'the god of shinobi'.
"Yes Mister Momochi." Homura frowned as the other two advisors adopted soft smiles of victory, their Kage placed down his pipe and sighed. "As of this moment, Konoha will be unofficially backing the Kiri River faction."
Location: unknown
Dark shadows danced along the halls of a massive underground chamber as three figures stood off against each other. An extremely old man with long white hair, a young black haired man in an orange mask, and a middle aged, partially balding man who bizarrely stood in nothing but a dirty white t-shirt and jeans.
"How." The voice of the old man rasped as he strained against the numerous tubes that made up his life support systems. "How did you find this place."
The balding man laughed for a moment and waved his hands in a placating gesture. "Look look I get it! Strange man shows up out of nowhere and your like 'who the fuck is this guy?'"
The younger man remained tense, but the elderly man seemed intrigued more than anything.
"Well." The stranger continued. "I don't want to waste your time with "Pandering"" the man-made air quotes with his fingers as he reached into his back pocket. "All I want to hear from you fine folks-"
He reveled the contents of his pocket, which appeared to the two speechless shinobi to be a miniature LIVING STAR-
"How would you like to help me blow up a fucking planet?"
