CHAPTER 2:

Do You Want to Build a Snowman?

Now to continue this story, Elsa said to the audience with the microphone in her hand, "Our next number is a song when my sister was trying to ask me to come out of my bedroom door and play with her when we were apart."

"Yeah!" Anna agreed. "I suffered from loneliness back then."

"Well, those days are over now, Anna," said Elsa.

"Just the way I like it," Anna said. "No more loneliness."

"And no more shutting you or other folks out, either," Elsa added. Then she said to the audience, "Before we begin the next number, let's meet our next singer on stage, Reba McEntire!"

The audience cheered and Reba McEntire came on stage in the spotlight. She waved at the audience and stood face to face with Anna and Elsa.

She shook hands with Elsa and said in a southern accent, "Thanks for lettin' me sing this next song, Elsa."

"No problem, Reba," Elsa said.

"I'm singing this song with Reba, too," Anna said.

"That's right, Anna, you are," agreed Elsa.

"All right! My first duet with your sister!" Reba shouted with joy.

"It is, isn't it?" Anna said.

Elsa faced the audience and said when she cleared her throat, "Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, here's my sister Anna and Reba McEntire singing our next number!"

The audience gave Anna and Reba a round of applause, and country music began playing again, and they both sang the next song together.

Do You Want to Build a Snowan

Sung by Reba McEntire and Anna

(Reba)

Elsa? (tap microphone)

Do you wanna build a snowman?

Come on, let's go and play!

I never see you anymore

Come out the door

It's like you've gone away!

We used to be best buddies

And now we're not

I wish you would tell me why!

Do you wanna build a snowman?

It doesn't have to be a snowman...

(Elsa)

Go away, Reba!

(Reba)

Okay, bye

(Elsa)

Just kidding, Reba! (laughing)

(Reba)

(laughing) Ya got me there, Elsa!

(Anna)

My turn! (tap microphone)

Do you wanna build a snowman?

Or ride our bike around the halls?

I think some company is overdue,

I've started talking to the pictures on the walls!

(Hang in there, Joan.)

It gets a little lonely,

All these empty rooms,

Just watching the hours tick by...

(tick-tock tick-tock tick-tock tick-tock)

(Elsa and Reba)

(laughing)

(Anna)

Do you wanna build a snowman?

It doesn't have to be a snowman...

(Elsa)

I built one already.

(Anna)

Okay, bye

(Elsa)

Anna, don't go! You and Reba have to sing the rest of the song!

(Anna)

Oh, right! Silly me. Wait, what?

(Reba)

Was that when both o' y'all lost your mother and father, the king and queen, when they sailed at sea?

(Elsa)

Yeah, that was the saddest moment of our lives.

(Anna)

And that's where the rest of this song comes in.

(Reba)

Oh. Well, in that case...

(Anna)

Elsa?

Please, I know you're in there

People are asking where you've been

(Reba)

They say, "have courage" and I'm trying to

I'm right out here for you,

Just let me in

(Anna)

We only have each other,

It's just you and me

What are we gonna do?

Do you want to build a snowman?

(Reba)

It doesn't have to be a snowman...

(Anna)

It's just me and you

The audience applauded when the next number ended. Anna and Reba took a bow, and Elsa had a tear that was rolling down her cheek.

Anna saw the sad look on her sister's face and asked, "What's the matter, Elsa?"

"That was a sad ending I ever heard," Elsa said with a sniffle. She dried her tears.

"You'll get over it, sis," Anna consoled. Then she turned to Reba and said, "You're a really beautiful singer, Reba."

"You ain't so bad yourself, sugar," Reba said.

"Did you hear that, Elsa?" Anna asked with a giggle. "She called me sugar!"

"I did," Elsa replied. She faced the audience and said, "Give another round of applause to my sister Anna and Reba McEntire!"

The audience applauded and cheered, and Anna and Reba bowed again, then Reba left the stage.

"Boy, Reba was fantastic!" said Anna.

"She was," Elsa agreed. "But we have another number coming up in a few seconds."

"Elsa's right," Anna said to the audience. "Our next number's coming in a few seconds. So don't go away!"
