Makoto was lying in bed staring up at the ceiling. It was about time for him to get dressed and head to the cafeteria to get breakfast before class. He didn't want to move. He was too scared to move.

Makoto didn't sleep at all, he was tired, and he was scared. He stayed up all night to think about the three decisions that Kyoko provided him. The abortion was out of the question. Makoto had no desire to kill an innocent unborn child. However, he was still stuck in two minds about giving the child away or keeping the child, so he and Kyoko can raise it.

Makoto got out of bed, and he headed into the bathroom. He looked at himself in the mirror and saw his pale white face looking back at him.

Cafeteria

Kyoko was sitting at a table eating some toast while sipping on tea from time to time.

Sayaka walked into the room and saw Kyoko sitting alone. She walked over to the upcoming detective. "Kirigiri have you told Naegi?"

"I did," Kyoko replied. "He took the news better than I thought."

"So, have you two made a decision yet?"

"No, however, I've provided three choices for him. We will talk after class, and then we will proceed from there."

"I see," Sayaka said, wondering what the three choices were. "Be wary of Togami, by the way."

Kyoko stopped eating her toast and looked at Sayaka. "Why?"

"He has noticed something is wrong, he was asking me questions, but I brushed him off."

"Like what?" Kyoko asked.

"If you two were dating and if that was a link to you not showing up for class when Makoto was out of the country."

"Hmm, well, thank you for having my back, but you can't cover it forever. Soon Ludenberg and Enoshima will notice things are up. Plus, people will begin to notice a bump."

Sayaka's eyes widened for a few seconds in shock. "It seems that you've made your mind up regarding the baby."

"Well, killing the baby was never going to be the option. I would be no better than those murders that I aim to lock away when I become a detective. Also, we both know Naegi would never go for an abortion."

Sayaka titled her head. "So what are the two other options? You said three, but you have mentioned one of them."

"Well, the other two options lead to me giving birth, but that's when the options spilt. One of the options is to give up the baby for adoption. The other option is for Naegi and me to raise it together."

"Together?" Sayaka said, surprised.

"Yes, it would be unfair if I was left with the burden or if Naegi was. But we will go over everything after we speak tonight."

Sayaka began to shake her head. It was a mess, no doubt about it, but how were Makoto and Kyoko going to handle this?

Makoto walked into the cafeteria. Kyoko saw him, and she was shocked at how pale white he was.

Makoto looked over to see Kyoko looking at him. Then he saw Sayaka turned around to look at him, and she was shocked to see the colour of his face.

Makoto walked over to the table. Sayaka walked away to grab her toast. She knew this wasn't her place, but she will ask him how he was in class.

"Hi Kirigiri," Makoto said.

"Naegi, did you get any sleep?" Kyoko asked.

"No, not really," Makoto yawned. "I couldn't sleep. Are you ok?"

"Yes, I'm fine," Kyoko said. "Why don't you sit down and have some toast."

"No, it's fine. I was going to grab one slice and head to class," Makoto said weakly.

Kyoko watched Makoto walk away and grabbing a slice of toast, then leaving the room. She saw Sayaka following Makoto close behind.

"I better head to class myself," Kyoko muttered.

Makoto was walking in the corridor as he took a bit of his toast.

"Hey Naegi," Sayaka said as she caught up to him. "Are you ok? You look very pale."

"Yeah, I'm fine… I couldn't get to sleep," Makoto replied, then he took another bite of his toast.

"It must be some jet lag, yeah?" Sayaka said as she took a bit of her toast. "You think you're over it, but it bites you in the backside."

"Yeah," Makoto mumbled as the pair reached class.

"Geez, oh!" Junko said as she saw Makoto. "Are you ok, Naegi?"

"Yeah," he said weakly. "Couldn't get to sleep, that's all."

Byakuya, who was reading a book, looked up and was shocked to see Makoto's pale face. 'First, Kirigiri was ill. Now Naegi looks like he is dying. Is there a bug getting spread about this place?' Byakuya thought.

"It's the jet lag," Sayaka said, coving up for Makoto. "It has hit him hard."

'Jet lag?' Junko thought. 'It can't be jet lag. Naegi would be over it by now. He must have caught whatever Kirigiri had.'

Makoto and Sayaka sat down as Kyoko came in along with the rest of Class 78. Soon the teacher came in, and he stopped dead in his tracks when he saw Makoto. "Naegi are you ok?"

"Yeah, I'm fine, sir," Makoto said weakly. "I couldn't sleep last night."

The teacher continued to look at Makoto. "I want you to go back to your dorm room. It's clear that you're lying to me, and you are unwell. Kirigiri was ill last week, and you must have caught the same bug. So I want you to leave before you spread it to anyone else."

"But sir, I'm fi-"

"Go now!" The teacher said firmly.

Makoto didn't want to create a scene. He grabbed his stuff and walked out of the class.

"This goes for the rest of you," the teacher said. "If any of you are ill, then do not come to class. Regardless if you try and hide it. Now then, let's get on with today's class.

Makoto walked back to the dorms, and he reached his room and headed inside. He dropped his bag and didn't bother taking off his uniform. He walked over to his bed and crashed on it, and fell to sleep.

Hours later

Makoto was woken to someone knocking on his door. He slowly got to his feet and walked over to the door, and opened it.

"Naegi," Kyoko said while letting out a sigh of relief. "I'm glad you're safe."

"Kirigiri," Makoto yawned. "Sorry, I fell asleep as soon as I got back to my room. What time is it anyway? Were you waiting long?"

"Class has finished for the day, and I wasn't waiting that long. My first knock on the door must have woken you up. Do you need time to regroup, or can we talk now?"

"No, we can talk now," Makoto said as he opened the door wide enough to allow Kyoko to walk in. He closed the door.

"So you slept in your school uniform?" Kyoko asked.

"Yes, I crashed onto the bed when I got here and fell asleep. I needed that. I feel better."

"You look better," Kyoko replied. "Your face has got some colour back." She walked over to the bed and sat down. "Anyway, let's get to the subject at hand."

Makoto walked over and sat down next to Kyoko. "Can I go first?"

"Of course you can," Kyoko smiled. She wanted to make sure Makoto was comfortable talking about this.

"Ok, thanks. First off, I want to say, regardless of what my choice is, your choice is far more important."

"Why is that?" Kyoko asked, confused.

"Because it's your body after, this baby is going to affect your body. So at the end of the day, it's going to be your decision that counts, but personally, I would like for us to keep the baby and try and raise it. It's our mess, after all, and I want us to try and fix this mess ourselves. I would never consider an abortion. Killing a small baby would haunt me, and I don't fancy giving up the baby to adoption."

Kyoko placed her hand onto Makoto's hand. "I feel the same way, and abortion was never on my mind. If anything, that would be an option I would never pick. This child has a right to live regardless of how stupid we have been. Before you said to me what your choice was. I had already made up my mind. I was going to keep the child."

"So it's agreed then," Makoto sighed. "We are going to become parents."

"Yes," Kyoko nodded.

"Right," Makoto said slowly. "Kirigiri, would you like to go out with me?"

"What?" Kyoko said, shocked.

"Look, I have a crush you on, and I think things will be better if we began dating. If you want to say no, I understand."

"Naegi, I like you as well. I guess it was one of the reasons why I slept with you. But yes, I would like to go out with you."

Makoto began to smile warmly. Kyoko loved that smile.

"Great," Makoto said happily. Then his smile soon faded. "What are we going to do next?"

"I think the next step is telling our parents."

Makoto froze as his face became pale again. "My parents… I forgot about them. Oh, my num is going to kill me."

"Your mother? I'm worried what my father will say to you," Kyoko said, shaking her head. "We will tell them tomorrow together, ok?"

Makoto could only nod. He would need to phone his parents, but he knew that wouldn't save him from his mother.
