Chapter 3 - Red and blue
Chloe was sitting on an incredibly large bed, leaning on her hands. She wasn't familiar with the room. The bed was covered with black sheets, but everything else in the room was bright red: the cupboard, the small table with the three chairs, the large bookshelf with every single book on it, and even the walls themselves. Or it was just the lighting, she couldn't decide. She looked around, searching the source of the dim light and saw a nightstand on her left with a small, strangely shaped lamp oozing red light. She curled her fingers and found something soft beneath them. Her gaze travelled back to the bed and she realized that the dark sheet was covered with soft, crimson rose petals, forming a heart shape around her naked body. Her hands jerked to her breast and stomach as she suddenly felt cold and self-conscious.
Then she saw movement in the room. Marcus emerged at the end of the bed as if rising from the crested waves of the sea. Despite the red lights in the room, his naked body was glowing with an eerie bluish light. He straightened his body and stood now at the end of the bed with a small smile on his face.
"Marcus, I'm cold," she whispered weakly, while she hugged herself with her shaking arms.
He kneeled on the bed and crept towards her. The muscles of his chest rippled temptingly in the strange dim lighting as he crawled closer. He snaked his strong arms around her waist and kissed her. As Marcus's cool lips touched hers, she felt as if some icy liquid was spilling down her throat and freezing her organs, yet she couldn't resist the kiss. Now her whole body was trembling.
When Marcus broke the kiss and started to nibble her ear, she uttered, "Please…I'm going to freeze."
He pulled back, tilted his head to the side and studied her pensively. His bright blue eyes were unreadable. Finally, he caught her shaking hands in his bigger ones.
"Close your eyes and lie on the bed," he commanded gently, and she complied.
Marcus let go of her hands and suddenly she felt terribly alone. Then she felt a warm, feather-light touch on her face. A hand was caressing her lightly. After a while it slid down on her neck to her sternum and continued its way to her abdomen, leaving a trail of scorching warmth behind. Then this warmth engulfed her completely, all at once. An incredibly hot body was pressed to hers, covering every patch of her skin, which craved for some warmth so desperately. Two strong, naked thighs pressed to her smaller ones. It was a man's body. Strong, but slender. Slimmer than Marcus's. And she felt a hardness pressing to the triangle where her legs met her abdomen. The man's warm, smoky breath caressed her face. She could smell the bitter yet delicate smell of whisky in it. It was so familiar. The memories of this smell, this taste, a certain beach, and the screeching of seagulls invaded her mind.
A very familiar voice murmured in her ear seductively, "I think we have some unfinished business, Detective." Lucifer raised his head and she opened her eyes to look into his deep, sinful, brown orbs. Her heart pounded violently, and she knew she wouldn't be able to resist the temptation. She was still trembling, although her body started to warm up slowly.
He must feel her quivering because the edge of his lecherous grin softened, and he tucked her hair behind her ear.
"Let me warm you up," he whispered and nibbled her earlobe. Lucifer now covered with kisses the path he had previously drawn with his fingers on Chloe's body. His hot tongue played wickedly with her soft skin. His kisses were unbearably thrilling; as if they burned into her skin. By the time he reached her core, Chloe was panting and sweating. Lucifer reached the end of the bed as he crawled back to position himself between her legs. His muscles looked as if they were sculpted out of rubies. Every inch of his glorious body was gleaming red in the dim light.
He looked up at her one last time before he darted his tongue between her folds, and she cried out with pleasure. He was licking her eagerly, sucking her folds and used the tip of his warm tongue to play with her clit. She started to feel like she was bathing in lava. The heat became intolerable.
"Lucifer," she breathed raggedly. "It's too hot."
He glanced up, a hint of mischief dancing in his eyes, but didn't cease his movements. She felt like her blood was beginning to boil and she started hyperventilating.
Then she spotted Marcus again. He sat on the edge of the bed silently and put his hand on Lucifer's back who raised his head and looked at him.
"We have to balance the scale," Marcus told him and glanced at his lips.
Lucifer nodded, pushed himself into a sitting position, and kissed him eagerly.
Chloe was mesmerized. Marcus's blue-glowing body and Lucifer's bright red body clung to each other, intertwined like yin and yang. Marcus cupped Lucifer's jaw, and deepened the kiss, while Lucifer's hands were roaming over his upper body. Soon it was difficult to decide whether they wanted to please each other or wage war. Finally, Marcus pushed Lucifer down to a lying position, while kissing him fervently. His fingers mussed up his raven-black hair then slid down on his arms until they reached his hips and grabbed them firmly. Then he broke the kiss suddenly and looked at Chloe.
"We shouldn't keep the lady waiting," he said. The two men smiled at each other knowingly. Marcus pushed himself up and Lucifer turned around so that he was lying on his stomach. He nestled himself between her thighs again, while Marcus stood behind him. She couldn't suppress a moan when Lucifer's talented tongue found her bundle of nerves again.
She didn't close her eyes this time but watched the slight twitches in the muscles of his neck as he did the best to please her. Her gaze slid over his muscular back then flickered to Marcus who put some lube on his finger and slipped it between Lucifer's cheeks. Lucifer's moan at the new sensation vibrated through her body.
She locked her gaze with Marcus and saw from the corner of her eyes that his hand was moving faster and faster, which spurred her arousal further. The previously unbearable heat subsided; although she was still warm, she could handle it much better now.
Marcus retrieved his hand and crept back a little. Chloe saw him grab his member and position it in the cleft of Lucifer's firm globes. She could see him thrust shallowly a few times, then felt Lucifer's grip tighten on her hips as Marcus slowly pushed his shaft inside.
Suddenly she felt worried about Lucifer and grabbed his hand. Lucifer raised his head and she could see a strange mixture of desire, lust, and pain in his foggy gaze.
"It's all right, Detective. Just dive into the pleasures." He ducked his head again and continued licking her lower lips. Marcus started to thrust with a slow rhythm, grabbing Lucifer's narrow waist and keeping him steady. The long strokes of Lucifer's tongue soon came into harmony with Marcus's moves.
"I've told you, Chloe. If you find the appropriate partner, it can be very satisfying," Marcus said with a pleased smile.
She became closer and closer to an explosion of pleasure. Marcus bent forward a bit and increased his pace. Based on his shallow panting and erratic thrusts, she could tell he was close, too. Lucifer did some twisting motion with his tongue, which pushed her over the edge. Her body convulsed and trembled. She heard both Lucifer and Marcus let out a nearly beastly groan and suddenly a blinding white light filled the room.
Chloe sat bolt upright as if lightning stroke her body. Her heart wanted to rip out from her ribcage. Her heavy breathing seemed to wake Marcus.
"Hey," he mumbled groggily but worriedly. "Bad dream again?"
"You can say that," she said and dropped back onto the bed.
"Do you want to talk about it?" he asked.
"No, it's okay. I'm sorry that I woke you up." She snuggled up to him, hoping that she could hide her embarrassment and fall into a dreamless sleep this time.
At the precinct
Marcus was reading the first paragraph of a report for the third time, but the meaning of the words somehow didn't reach his mind. His thoughts kept going back to last night's conversation with Chloe. He closed the report and rubbed his eyes. Everything was on track with Chloe Decker. She was a little bit shy in the beginning, but then she started to open up to him. She will fall in love with him eventually, he was sure about that. He just had to play the role of the thoughtful boyfriend. It was a quite pleasant role so far, he mused. When he got his mark, he started to avoid any real and long-time connections to avoid grief. And it worked perfectly from the bronze age to the 21st century. Although he started this relationship with Chloe just because of the plan, it somehow still felt good. It was something he had never experienced before. Something he had denied from himself so far.
And he had a reason for that, he reminded himself again. Although he was well aware that he shouldn't deal with anything but the plan, yet he couldn't avoid these unpleasant feelings that had emerged since yesterday. Their conversation about the case and some…related topics bothered him somehow and it was a strange feeling. He tried to act nonchalantly, but it was quite weird to share his previous sexual experiences with her. As if her opinion really mattered to him. But the strangest part was when he told her that he would try anything she wants. He felt that he really wanted to please her, but he felt a vague uneasiness in his stomach at the same time. He wanted to believe that the direction of their conversation was only bothering him because it was hindering his plan, but that would have been a lie. But why else did it bother him? Was he… Was he jealous? No, that's not possible. He had definite goals with Chloe, and nothing could stand in his way. Especially not some ridiculous emotions.
His contemplation was broken by a loud noise; someone slammed his door carelessly. He raised his head and saw Maze in her tight leather clothes strolling towards his desk. She hopped on the edge of the desk and stared at him with a smirk.
"So, how are you two lovebirds doing? Has there been any change?" she asked nonchalantly.
He lifted the sleeve of his shirt and glared at his arm fretfully, "No, nothing has changed."
"But why? It seems that she completely fell in love with you." Seeing his uncertain expression, she asked, "Didn't she?"
"I don't know, Maze," he growled. "Everything is… everything is okay."
Maze huffed, and slapped her thigh exasperatedly, "Okay? Okay is not enough! It should be thrilling, fantastic, perfect!" She folded her arms and looked at him thoughtfully, "What's missing?"
"Again, I don't know. Maybe she just needs time," Marcus sighed.
"Or rather some spark," Maze snickered.
Marcus rolled his eyes. "I can assure you there is a spark. Chloe is…a surprisingly passionate woman…" he trailed off.
"Oh, really?" Maze cheered up and a lecherous grin appeared on her face. "I always knew she had it in her. But can you live up to her expectations?" she challenged him, and he glared at her in response.
"Of course, I can live up to her expectations. I have thousands of years of experience. I had every kind of lovers and I know every kind of trick," he said finally.
"Right." Maze gave him a hungry once-over, then turned serious, "Then I don't get it. What else could be the problem?"
Marcus stood up and started to pace in the office. He had a hunch about what could be the problem. In the middle of the night, he woke up to Chloe tossing and turning in the bed. And she spoke in her sleep. Although he couldn't understand most of the things, she muttered something about cold and heat and also said two names: his and Lucifer's. And the way she moaned, woke with a start and looked so ashamed afterwards...these signs all confirmed the same suspicion in him. But should he share this suspicion with Maze? She knows Chloe, so she might have some useful advice, he decided.
"Well, I have an idea. She talked a lot about her current case last night. She was quite curious about…how threesomes work. And if they can strengthen a relationship. And I'm pretty sure, she had a wet dream after our conversation about that."
Maze's mouth fell open, "Wow. Well, I didn't see that coming," she mused. "So, you think that's the obstacle? That she wants a threesome? Wait, how do you know that she dreamt about a threesome?"
"Because she was moaning, panting and also speaking in her sleep and she uttered my name and Lucifer's."
"Wow again. That cheeky little witch."
Maze became positively thrilled.
Marcus stopped and looked at her, hands on his hips.
"Maze, you're not helping! What should I do about it? If she dreams about Lucifer it could mean that she feels something about him. She told me that they are just partners and they have never been more than that, but I don't buy it. There is something between them that I can't quite put my finger on."
"Yeah, sure. They played this whole 'will they, won't they' thing for a while, but they have never had sex." She became pensive. "Now that I think about it, maybe this is the problem. Decker is still thinking about him because she could never get him. She's still curious and it keeps her hooked. But if she finally got over it, she wouldn't be so excited anymore."
Marcus sat back on the chair and stared at the floor as he considered Maze's words.
"Are you sure?" he asked in a low voice. "Because if it backfires, both of us will be screwed."
Maze leaned closer, looked into his eyes, and licked her lips meaningfully.
"Not only you have thousands of years of experience, Cain. I know humans. And I know Chloe. I lived with her and saw what she needs. First of all, she longs for someone she can trust. Someone steady and predictable." She looked him up and down and continued, "And she sees you like that. But she is also a detective. She is excited about mysteries, but only until she solves them. And Lucifer is a mystery for her. Nothing else. Because she knows that he's an unpredictable, selfish asshole, so she won't want anything else from him after she gets him out of her system."
Maze channelled all his anger in the last sentence. Though she really saw Lucifer as she had described him, she knew that if Chloe got over him, it would break him. And she wanted to see him fall apart. She wanted to punish him for the way he treated her lately.
"Besides, if she thinks that this can strengthen your relationship, it can tilt the balance in your favour," she added.
Marcus stared at her intently, then finally nodded.
"Okay. Then this will be the next step."
