"Yeah, I need to sit down."

I don't think I've ever went down on my butt so quick. I pulled my knees into my chest and rest my arms atop... more questions going through my head than I could fathom. But they were getting replaced by empty space quickly, I felt like I was losing my ability to think. So my mind ran faster trying to grasp every last scene that just played before me moments ago.

I stare at the ground, running in my mind between what just happened and what do I even ask... or who if anybody.

The young turtle man made his way gingerly over. Popping a seat right in front of me. I looked up, he wore a face of concern but with a warm smile.

Oh the things you see in the city.

I have no idea what he knew if anything at all. He could have just been a random bystander for all I know. But it was someone willing to help from the looks of it.

"So who are you?" I asked, studying him closely, taking in more of features.

"Oh, right yeah. I'm a- my name's L-Leonardo." A flash of a blush ran across his face, he covered it with a smile. He paused clearing his throat. "Leo. My name is Leo."

He took a second to decide whether to put his hand out for a shake. But then he swiftly held his hand out awkwardly enough to the point I would've felt bad to reject it. I gave the weird turtle a hand shake.

"Heh sorry. It's been a while since I've had to introduce myself to anyone." He said now with more of a goofy grin.

"I would imagine." I replied, taking my hand back and putting it over my throbbing shoulder. "My name is Koda."

"Yes I know."

I'm sorry what now?

"What?" I asked almost more angry than concerned.

His face turned beet red.

"Oh no no not like that. See we-"

"We? Who?"

I scoot back a few inches.

"My brothers-" He began talking fast.

"There's more things like you?"

"Yes but... ah geez already screwed this one up." He put his face in his palm.

I could still sense he was no threat... How he knew my name I did not know but it was not from malicious intent that I could sense... or see. Just his voice sounded innocent and true.

I calmed myself and scoot back to where I was. Feeling bad I told myself I was just jumpy. Weird things happened today... including meeting this guy.

I sighed.

"Sooo... If you know my name... what else do you know?" I asked peering into his mind the best I could. Giving him the sternest stare I had in me.

He slid his face out of his hand and drew a breath, putting his hands together in a gesture. "That is... a long story."

"Then get telling."

He gave almost a wide eyed look a hint of sadness behind it. He glanced down real quick at me so I gave an angrier stare back. He came back up with more concern waving across his eyes.

"Well I'm serious. Look I got family... somewhere, fighting for their lives. I just literally got tossed away from them. I don't know where I am or what's going on or if they're okay." I felt tears crinkle in the corners of my eyes. But I blinked them away and shoved the hurt down.

Answers now. Emotions later.

I looked over trying to hide the pain while it diminished. The the scrap pile that was the four droid things that brought me here, caught my eye. Sparking a flame of anger.

"And the hell are those things!?" I yelled pointing at them. Leo glanced over quick before bringing his eyes back to meet mine. No longer any kind welcoming air about him, just sympathy.

"I can answer all that." He said with with a calm sturdy tone. His eyes darted down once more and this time I followed his gaze.

Ah yes, my left hand that the stupid gun almost blew to bits. A good amount of blood had made it's way, covering my hand and wrist, hiding where the actual injuries lie and dripping onto my jeans. It had been lightly throbbing but now that I looked at it, it became a creeping, searing pain that tingled up my arm.

"You're hurt." He said gently, bringing my eyes back to his.

"Yes. But I'm fine and I want to know what's going on. Screw my hand." I took my good hand off my left shoulder where the gash still sat with all its painful glory and held my battered left hand and wrist. A poor decision at best, as it brought a different level pain I felt in my throat. Cold and wet, sticky from the drying blood. It wasn't good all I knew.

At least all my injuries were on one side and I was right handed.

"I can tell you everything." He said, he slowly scooted forward putting his hands out. "But would you mind if I mended your hand while I told you? You shouldn't let it keep bleeding like that." The concern in his eyes wavered me to give up my beaten and hurting limb. I looked down at his big clumsy looking hands, open and inviting but too large to appear gentle.

What other options did I have.

I held my hand out and he took it like it was a fragile piece of glass. Touching it light as a feather. Quite contrary to the brick like handling I expected. He pulled some bandages from his belt. I looked off to the side knowing it would sting and throb the entire process. I didn't want to make it worse by watching.

"So what happened?" He asked. But before I could answer he realized that was a loaded question. "To your hand I mean."

"One of those guns blew up." A bandage being layed across my skin sent pain right to my eyes as tears started to well up. "It was in my brother's hands... I grabbed it from him and tried to throw it away. But I wasn't fast enough for myself." My voice cracked slightly.

Leo stopped abruptly. "Am I hurting you?" He asked quick and worried.

"Yes but just get it over with."

I dug my fingers into my knee to distract myself. The blue masked turtle kept at his task diligently.

I decided to continue on as a further distraction.

"My younger brother wasn't hurt by it. Last I saw my other brothers were okay... If you could call it okay while fighting off droid thingy majigs." I hugged my knees tighter and rest my head on top.

I still kept my gaze fixed off in the distance. The lights mixed with the dark of night enough to keep me entertained.

"Do you think they're okay? What will those robot guys do?" I asked not really sure if he knew an answer.

Leo taped the bandage together, marking his job complete. It was tight and even took some of the pain away now that it was untouched and unmoving. I still dare not look at it again. I didn't even want to move it from his open hand. So let it stay and he didn't move a muscle.

"I'm sure they are fine. The Kraang... er robot guys, wanted you." I could feel him staring at me trying to gain any kind of idea of what I knew so he could find a place to start.

"So they are called the Kraang. Weird that they refer to themselves in third person." I said rather slumped after the brief silence. I still stare away, the twinkling lights of the city still more entertaining than thinking about my wounds.

"Yes..." He trailed off, looking where I was then back at me. "From our years of experience with them, once they got what they wanted they would back off. Likely once you ended up here they retreated seeing it useless to keep pursuing your family."

He turned to look at the pile of metal scum that was the Kraang.

"We thought that they had been taken care of..." He grumbled almost annoyed.

I looked back to him finally and saw him glaring with distaste at the pile. He must have quite a history with them. I could see he was running through memories and not pleasant ones at that as his eyes made slight darts from one robot to the next.

"As long as they're safe." I huffed putting my chin back to my knees and taking my injured hand to be with the other one as it was no longer as angrily flaring in pain.

I felt an unexpected wave of tiredness. My mind clouded with it.

"They should be." He reassured.

"I have a whole world of other questions."

He gave a sympathetic smile. "I'll be glad to answer all of them-"

"Leo!" Another voice caught our attention from a roof top over.

This guy wasn't kidding, there were more of him. Three more to be exact.

They were quick to join us on our rooftop. There was red banded stocky one, a tall lanky one with purple and a short orange banded one. All of them with smiles and welcoming faces... we'll except the red one, who's sharp green eyes kinda scared me.

"Aye, Leo, you found her. Tell me kid, what'd those creeps do to ya? I'll beat every last one for you." The red one said pounding a fist to his hand with an unexpected enthusiasm and a determined smile... like he would enjoy beating up the robots.

"Oh she's hurt. I can fix you up! What hurts?" The one with purple spoke fast and concerned. He immediately took a knee beside me to get a better look at my bandaged hand. His quickness startled me and I pulled away, only to be met with the orange one.

"OMG guys look at her little braided pigtails! Can we keep her?" The orange squealed and I raised and eyebrow leaning back from his lack of boundaries as he got in my face, almost poking me.

"Mikey she's not a pet!" They all scolded him and he whimpered with the most convincing puppy dog eyes I think I have ever seen. He backed off.

Holy shit they are just like my brothers. A goofy one, a smart one, the angry idiot and the cool one- well maybe not cool per se but level headed. Yeah I'll give him that... level headed.

They all looked at me seeing I was staring them over. My face heated up having four pairs of strangers eyes on me.

I cleared my throat. "Y'all are very kind but-" I paused as I went to stand, two pairs of arms from the purple and blue went to offer me help but I ignored it. I huffed as I stood straight, clutching my screaming hand. "I gotta get home..."

Their concerned faces read me over.

I glanced at the city then back to them. "... How do I get home?"

None of them were ready to answer all to quick. Leo looked at me as if he already had an answer, but he stayed silent. His eyes were quick to capture a hold of mine and steady me as I felt a panic rising. As if almost telling me to calm down. He turned to the purple one who seemed to be running options behind his silence.

"Well thats a whole different dimension you gotta hop." The red one said coldly, but his face was sympathetic.

Leo and the purple one shot glares at him. He just shrugged under their seeming anger.

But that was hardly noticed as I was busy contemplating the fact that I was in a whole different universe than my family.

But the thought faded in the lapping waves of my tiring mind.

I wasn't going to get a straight answer. At least not one they were willing to give me. I could see they had too much to tell that they weren't sure how to tell. Unless I asked the red one apparently.

"When can I go home?" I asked, knowing that I should just skip ahead here.

The purple one took to that and met my eyes more directly.

"That could be determined by a number of factors..." He was quick to answer.

"Such as?"

He didn't seem ready to answer that next one, so I scanned the others, they didn't even look like they had a hint of anything to say.

"There's a lot to that." He took a second to think, he looked my battered body over quick then his eyes came back up seemingly more confident in what he was about to say.

"And I- We-" he gestured to his brothers alongside him, "promise to tell you everything. But I think right now... the best thing... is for you to get some medical attention." He said softly, gesturing a hand towards the general direction of my left side.

I looked down at my hand that I still held carefully in my other, crimson already soaking through the bandaging.

Tears dribbled down to the rubber roof. Whether it was from pain or fear... I didn't even know.

I raised my head an nodded, their eyes all ones of sadness with mine. Briefly it was silent save for the sounds of the city below.

"Come on." The purple banded one said sympathetically just above a whisper. He extended a welcoming arm, to which I stepped into as he guided me forward gently with his hand.

I looked up "what's your name?"

"Donatello."

"I'm Michealangelo! But call me Mikey!" The orange blurted enthusiastically, bringing a small smile to my face as I turned to him next. He was just so happy it rubbed off. He pointed behind him to the red one who waved, "And that's Raphael."

"The renaissance turtles?" I chuckled.

"You bet ya!" Mikey said with a wink and finger guns.

These guys were alright, I thought to myself.
