As they left they met Harry's son and Jay stopped to ask him a few questions.

- Hey Garrett, - the young detective said

- Hey bye - greeted the boy.

- Did you see Hayley last night? - Halstead asked.

-Yes sure, she walked past the bar with people. - said the young bartender.

- With people? Who were they? Did you know there? Could you describe them to me? What time was it? - Jay asked like a raging river.

- Hey Jay, take it easy,- said Antonio.

In fact, the young detective eager for news to find his colleague had asked too many questions all at once, not giving the other time to answer.

Jay took a deep breath, he was too nervous, agitated and worried, making Antonio carry on.

- What time was it when you saw her? asked the latter.

- About midnight. I don't know exactly, but I think it was just past midnight. - Garrett replied.

- Did you say she was with people? - The senior detective continued.

-He was walking with two guys, a woman and a man. Yes they are headed for a blue BMW of the latest model I think.- said the bartender's son.

- Did you see well there? - Jay asked.

- Well for a moment, yes, more or less. They passed under the lights of the street lamps nearby. I was arranging the tables in front of the entrance. Yesterday there was not a lot of comings and goings here and there were no people here in the bar.-

- Could you describe them to make an identikit? - asked Antonio.

- Yes sure. - replied the boy.

- Come with us to the district then. - Jay said.

The three then after Garrett had warned his father got into the car and headed for the district.

FLASHBACK

22:00

Hayley had just returned from work, she had stopped by to buy a pizza at the frozen food store.

She didn't feel like cooking, she felt tired.

She would heat the pizza in the microwave and after eating it she would go straight to bed.

Before returning home she had stopped to greet Harry in his laboratory which was down the street.

She had decided that the next morning she would have Jay try Harry's famous muffins.

She also found out that five days later was going to be her partner's birthday and she also ordered a cake for that day.

She had asked Harry to keep the secret from Jay, it must have been a surprise.

After saying goodbye to the bartender, the detective headed home, she put the pizza in the microwave and in the meantime she went to take a hot shower.

It was almost December and it was really cold outside in Chicago.

The snow had been falling for days now providing a fabulous spectacle, but also causing numerous inconveniences.

Once the shower was over, she after dressing comfortably she ate the pizza and went to bed.

She was about to write Jay to make arrangements for the next morning when the doorbell rang.

A man and a woman stood in front of the detective and ordered her to follow her.

The woman was pointing a gun at her back, hiding it with her overcoat.

They made her get into a latest model BMW and set off taking the detective with them.
