Lost sense of purpose

Chapter three

Early morning Marcie had come down from the bedroom upstairs. While her husband was preparing himself to drive on over to the U.S..S. Horatio as the commander. He was checking his uniform making sure it was fitting him right after losing weight of late after being shot in the stomach and other injuries.

"Is everything okay Jethro?" she was worried about her husband having to be going half cock with the deep cover operation onboard the carrier. There had already been two dead because someone is trying to cause trouble with the Cartel and the United States government.

"I am fine Marcie. Please will you stop worrying about what is not going to happen?" he cried out with Lucy coming up to him for a pat on the head. He pats her on the head for the moment while decided to feed her as well as clean water.

Looking at his watch. "I need to go Marcie. Do me favor with saying anything to the NCIS team along with Director Vance. By the way, that file that was given to me years ago by Trent Kort, I plan on using it when I get back from this operation." he said...

"If you get back Jethro!" she exclaimed with watching him checking his go bag with the items he was going to need on board in order to protect himself. He turns quickly in order to kiss his wife with passion before leaving her and the house, along with Lucy.

Arriving at the port for where the U.S. was docked with all of the personnel were boarding after a short leave for the most part.

Captain Duane Reads was waiting for Commander Leroy Higgins as the replacement. He was standing with others along with the officer of the deck Lt. Donny Morgan only been on the ship for the past six months. Captain Reads will no doubt will have the Commanding Officer taking a look at the personnel files.

"Commander Leroy Higgins welcome abroad. Sergeant Janey Mills will take you to your quarters by dropping off your gear. I left you a number of items that you're going to need."

"Thanks. I am sure that I will be comfortable on board. Is everyone on board Captain?" Gibbs/Higgins needed to ask.

"Yes, sir. We will be ready to head out within the hour. Do you think that you're able to be on the bridge during that time once you're able to check out your schedule?"

Smiling. "I will be there Captain."

Taking their time with getting used to the locations as his memory needed to. Sergeant Janey Mills, a female all business. She may her way down the gangplank for his quarters. He overheard that sounded like a fight of sorts as the both of them ran over to the corridor where there were four personnel trying to punch out younger personnel as if they were gambling.

"Attention!" Commander Higgins is asking for everyone to stand down. What the hell is going on Sergeant Wilson?" he asked with a serious tone while watching the reaction of the personnel.

"Gambling sir. We asked for our money back since the floating crap game was crooked. We had no choice to try and wring it out of him." he states.

Meanwhile, Commander Leroy Higgins asked Sergeant Mills to call for security to have these men place in the god damn brig.

"Yes, sir." Sergeant Janey Mills went to the intercom behind them in order to call for the security officers to bring the five to the brig until the Captain is able to figure out a sentence of sorts among them. He doesn't tolerate gambling on the carrier and neither does Commander Higgins.

As the five security officers arrived with the cuffs. "Take these three to the brig for illegal gambling on this boat?" he exclaimed towards the five officers having to be shaking their heads.

"Is there a problem Captain Kohl?" Gibbs/Higgins acting his part while working the deep undercover operation.

"None sir." he gave the order to the security team to remove the five having been caught fighting along with the illegal gambling.

Meanwhile, Sergeant Janey Mills continued on with bringing Commander Higgins to his quarters. He was glad in a big way with needing to change for his meeting with the Captain on the bridge before moving out of the port of the Naval yards.

Leroy Jethro Gibbs had made a recording of what exactly happened today. While checking for his GPS Tracking device on his left arm in case he needs to activate it.

Settling down with pulling out his cell phone he sent a text message to his wife. "Already made a presence on board with stopping a fight between personnel. Even though they were gambling. Maybe one of them was behind it with the two murders?" he said by sending the text message to his wife before leaving it on the counter in order to change.

Following the same directions from the Sergeant earlier. Commander Higgins was able to reach the bridge by walking inside with the Captain reading the arrest report by Captain Kohl.

"Commander Higgins, you seem to have made an impression already on board this carrier?" Captain Reads needed to say to let the commander read the security officer's report.

"Thanks, Captain. Is there anything else I should know about?" Higgins/Gibbs needed to say with being told to sit down while the Captain had given the order to leave port.

Higgins/Gibbs had been paying attention while being on the bridge. Even though as if he was being watched. Gibbs didn't know whether the killer was on board or rather he knew that Higgins was an NCIS agent working deep undercover?

Once the carrier was able to leave the port. Captain Reads had given Commander Higgins his schedule for when he's due on duty once again in 12 hours taking the bridge and communications. So in the meantime, he was free to head for his quarters to rest or asked where the officer's breakroom was located.
