Season 1. Episode 2:
(The dwarves of Valver offer a Goa'uld symbiote to the SGC. But now the team needs to catch it before it takes a host.).
The Stargate opened on a planet, far, far away. As the SG-1 team came out, Conrad was hauling a crate. Placing it on the ground, a group of dwarves came running. Conrad smiled. "Food, medicines, tools. All you need.". One dwarf named Lignose smiled. "You kept your side of the bargain. We keep ours. Bring it.". Then a wagon came.
Jack stepped up and pulled the cover off. In the wagon was a tank. In the tank was a creature.
A Goa'uld symbiote.
Jack smiled. Teel'c approached. "This is a fully matured symbiote. We must work with caution.". But that didn't work. It shot through the glass at Daniel! But before it could get to him, a hand snatched it. It was Conrad. "These buggers are nasty looking! No wonder no one likes them.". Daniel lets out a breath. "Thanks.". Conrad smiled. "No problem.". As he pulled out a jar he forces the symbiote in. Now with the deal made, they can go home. So they did.
General Hammond did his usual thing. "Welcome back SG-1.". Jack nodded. "We got the Goa'uld.". Conrad handed the jar. The General smiled. "Finally. Good work team.".
Carter was studying the symbiote in the research lab. Sense Conrad has some experience with animal biology, he was asked in to help. Conrad was looking at the symbiote. "Is it me, or does it look a lot like a snake.". Carter smiled. "It's more of a parasite. It must have a host to live, or atleast a aquatic environment.". As Conrad was looking the symbiote then jumped. It landed on the floor and started darting everywhere. The whole lab went insane. Carter jumped on a chair to prevent implantation while Conrad just stepped on it. The symbiote was squirming and screeching but it didn't escape.
Conrad grabbed it and threw it in the tank and closed the lit. And for safety, he used duct tape to seal it. Carter got off and patted him on the shoulder. "Great reflexes.". But it was short. An unauthorized gate activity was on. The SG-1 team ran to the gate room. It was the Tok'ra. As Martouf came in he bowed his head. "Thank you for seeing me in such short notice.". Carter hugged him. Conrad was unsure of what to do. Martouf of course saw him. "Here's a face I don't recognize.". Conrad held his hand out. "First Private Conrad Baird.". Martouf shook it firmly.
As they were walking to the lab to show the symbiote, they saw it was GONE. Hammond responded quickly. "Place security on high alert!". Carter then ordered them to shut the main water system off. Meaning it can't escape. Martouf then let Lantash take over. "We must find the Goa'uld before it takes a host.". But Jack was ahead. "Or if it did!". Conrad ran for his locker. Opening the door, he pulled out what looked like an oxygen tank. Daniel was right behind him. "What are you doing? Those are the emergency oxygen reserves.". Teel'c on the other hand was following Conrad's plan. "You plan on finding the Goa'uld in the main water systems before it begins to spawn.". Conrad nodded. "Yeah. I used to do scuba diving in high school. If I can get in the pipes I can get it out.". Carter then got some blueprints. "The water pipes lead to the main tank. It's atleast 1 000 feet underground. Temperatures can rise up to 100 degrees.". Conrad lifted his brow. "Celsius or Fahrenheit?". Carter sighed. "Celsius.". Conrad then groaned. "Wel goed dan!" (Well then!) he yelled. But that left everyone looking at him. Conrad ignored them and went to put his suit on. As he was zipping his suit closed, Carter handed him a device. "This goes on your wrist. This will read the temperature of the water. Once it hits 45, you go to the nearest hatch and radio us. Understood?". Conrad nodded. "Yes.".
The hatch was opened and Conrad went in. Now he was under the water. Swimming he followed the trail of air bubbles. His temperature was the same but he was very unsure.
Carter was on her laptop scanning the pipeline. Martouf approached. "Anything?" he asked. Carter sighed. "Not yet.". Lantash then spoke. "This Goa'uld is smart. We must take him or her by surprise.". Carter then spoke over her radio. "Conrad, your temperature has risen, what is it?". Conrad checked. "35.". Carter wrote it. "If my calculations are correct, you got two hours before the temperature reaches 40.". Conrad then blew some bubbles. "What happens if it gets hotter?". Carter squinted her eyes shut. "You'll get boiled alive.". Conrad then stopped. "Great.". He then pulled a zat gun out and shoot at something. He saw the Goa'uld swimming away. Going after it he kept taking narrow turns.
Back outside, the base had the pipes sealed. Nets were placed up at the sewage pipes. Jack had zats placed up to shoot the Goa'uld when ever spotted. Daniel was studying on the symbiote records they made. Teel'c was just being himself. Sam on the other hand was worried for Conrad. The rubber suit will withstand the zat gun blast, but the symbiote could still penetrate the rubber.
Back in the water, Conrad stumbled on what appeared to be a nest. Eggs were on the walls. The Goa'uld was in some kind of chamber. He quickly checked the temperature. It was atleast 39,54 degrees Celsius. He needs to work fast. Taking the zat he shoots the eggs on the concrete. The eggs explode and the symbiote comes out. But a wave of electricity stopped the symbiote from getting away. Conrad grabbed it and stuffed it in the canister. But before he could swim he saw his oxygen was low. Seeing where the hatch is, he swam for it.
On the base the team received word that Conrad succeeded with his mission. As they went for the nearest hatch, Daniel stopped. "He must be low on oxygen.". Teel'c then nodded. "Must be.". Martouf then grabbed the hatch and tried to open it. "It's stuck.".
Conrad was now trying too. He was low on air and was struggling to focus. Gulping one last breath he felt his consciousness fading. His grip on the hatch loosened and he started drifting away.
But that changed when a huge vacuum was caused. Making him getting sucked out. He crashed on the floor with the medic around him. Getting his goggles and suit off was easy. But they needed to do mouth to mouth. Fraiser then told Carter to do mouth to mouth. As Fraiser was doing CPR, Carter had to blow air into Conrad's mouth. Conrad then coughed and spitted out water for a minute. He looked at his saviour and just sighed. "Thanks.". Carter smiled and helped him up. "How do you feel?" she asked. Conrad held the back of his head. "Wet.". Everyone just laughed.
Yet again, Conrad was in the infirmary. Fraiser this time wasn't friendly. "With your record of visits to the infirmary, I would place you as a regular.". Conrad then counted all the times. "I was here like every day when we do a mission.". Fraiser then handed a chard. "Oh." Was all he said.
