Author's Note: Sorry for the delay of this, but I've lost interest in this for a while, focusing on my other stories and daily life getting more and more crazy, but now the awaited third chapter is here!

Chapter 3: How to hide a Mini-Giant?

Chuck was completely speechless upon seeing his own grandson taller than usual-impossibly taller than usual, before turning to Sonic who, feeling like he was in major trouble considering how Chris was with him and Amy yesterday, gulped in fear and raised his hands up in surrender, scared of what his friend's grandfather would do to him.

"O-okay, before you go and kick me out of the house or whatever, I swear I have no idea what's happened to Chris or why he's gotten taller!" The terrified blue hedgehog stuttered quickly, slowly stepping back until he ended up touching the wall behind him. "None of us do!"

"Well, clearly something has happened and while this is impossible for Chris to undergo this unusual phenomenon, I have a feeling it has something to do with your fight with Dr. Eggman yesterday. Plus I keep thinking you left out something when you, my grandson and your friends were telling the story." Chuck stated with an angry glare, closing the door behind him and folding his arms. "What happened?"

Sonic quivered, knowing that he left out the laser part, and felt like he was cornered by the G.U.N authorities who always gave him the creeps despite that they were meant to protect people, even though he felt that the protecting part was more for the government than the citizens. He was scared, and he didn't want to lose his friendship with Chris.

"Okay, Grandpa. The thing is...Eggman had this laser thing he tried to kill Sonic with after he saved me." Chris gave a heavy sigh, and despite Sonic's protesting gasp and Amy and Tails looked on worriedly, the boy continued. "When he tried the second time and Sonic couldn't move out of the way on time, I moved in and saved him, but when the laser hit me, I was fine."

The moment he explained this however, Sonic and Chris both gasped in realization as they and Amy thought back of how the laser didn't kill the boy who seemed perfectly fine. The laser...while Chuck looked horrified to hear this, he was relieved that Chris survived without a single scratch, but then, hearing this he came to the same realization.

"That laser thingy must've done this. But, I thought Eggman wanted to use it to vaporize me, not grow me into a giant." Sonic muttered, folding his arms in confusion.

"It must've been a shrinking laser meant to shrink you, Sonic. But it must've malfunctioned and caused Chris to grow instead. Or perhaps something completely different." Tails theorized after coming to the same conclusion.

"So why did it take so long and how come Chris is 8 feet tall?" Amy asked, worriedly and puzzled.

"I don't know. Something must've triggered it somehow since it took so long to take effect." The eight year old fox shrugged, cluelessly.

"Hey, Chris. Maybe that's why you were feeling woozy and dizzy since yesterday." The fifteen year old hedgehog recalled.

Chris nodded, "Yeah, you're right. That must've been the effects I was feeling and watching TV somehow made it a bit worse."

"This is all my fault." Sonic muttered, the weight of guilt crashing onto his shoulders, placing a hand over his face. "How could I have let this happen?"

Clenching his left fist angrily, the blue hedgehog hissed furiously. "When I see that Egghead again, I'm gonna make him pay and if we can't figure out a way how to get Chris back to normal, I'll make that creep fix this if it's the last thing I do, and give him a piece of my mind!"

"Before we can do that, first we must examine Chris and see what is causing this and then figure out how to restore him to his original size." Chuck suggested, calming down and sighing. He then smirked a little, half-teasing his grandson. "On the bright side, at least you've grown up a lot quicker than anyone else your age."

Despite the situation, Chris and his friends, even Sonic who felt guilty for allowing this to happen, all chuckled half-heartedly. Unfortunatley, there were rapid footsteps and all five of them froze, realizing that it was Ella and Mr. Tanaka who, too late for the group to hide Chris again despite that his legs or head would stick out from behind the couch, yanked the door open.

"Is everything all right?" The butler from Chun Nun asked, before his and Ella's eyes widened as, to their complete shock and disbelief, they saw Chris taller than they last saw him last night. Needless to say that Tanaka had not expected this. "M-M-Master C-Chris?"

"W-what happened!?" Ella shrieked, feeling quite faint.

"Uh..." Sonic began nervously, shrugging while his friends and Chuck were speechless. "Eggman blew up Chris...?"

While Tanaka's glasses almost fell off in bewilderment, Ella's eyes rolled back and she fainted onto the floor. Everyone else stared at the housemaid's unconscious form and sweat dropped.

"Guess Ella took it really well." Tails muttered sarcastically, rubbing the back of his head.

"Couldn't agree more, li'l buddy." Sonic agreed with an awkward smile.

"Now what do we do?" Amy asked, worriedly.

"I guess we'd better figure this out." Chris awkwardly rubbed the back of his head.

"Let's head over into my lab in the garage. Luckily we don't have to go anywhere unless we're forced to find Eggman." Chuck suggested.

"AH! Wait a minute, Chuck!" The two-tailed fox cried out, as he immediately saw another problem. "How do we do that without Chris being seen like this?"

Sonic sweat dropped again as the blue hedgehog agreed. "Yeah, if anybody sees Chris, uh, a Mini-Giant, we're toast."

"Hmmm...I see your point." The elder human admitted, folding his arms in concern. "If the Government catch wind on this, no doubt they'll want to experiment on Chris and find out how all of this happened."

As the pink hedgehog of the group thought deeply, an idea blinked into her mind like a light bulb going on. "I have an idea! Leave the disguise part to me!"

While Chris and Chuck were slightly confused on this, at first Sonic was as well before the fifteen year old realized what his self-proclaimed girlfriend was talking about and snapped his fingers in realization. "Great idea, Ames! If by-passers notice Chris in disguise, they won't even know it's actually him."

"That's it! We just need to buy big clothes and no one will even notice." Tails realized.

"I get it now." The twelve year old boy realized.

"An excellent idea, Miss Amy. I will help you in measuring his size and height." Tanaka agreed.

"And I'll get you where you need to be and back in no time. Just leave it to the fastest thing alive!" The hero of Mobius added, giving the twelve year old pink hedgehog a wink and a thumbs up.

The others nodded in agreement before Tails, Amy, Chuck and Tanaka made a quick measuring with the 8 foot tall Chris while Sonic carefully placed Ella on the couch. After that and memorizing the weight and height sizes, the two hedgehogs sped out of the room and out of the house to find the big-sized clothes to fit the pre-teen. Few minutes later, Sonic and Amy returned with a bag full with huge men-sized clothes.

"Wow! That's the biggest suit I've ever seen!" Chris exclaimed as he, Chuck and Tails all stared at the humongous man suit.

"I know, right?" Sonic chuckled. "Good thing I've seen big and tall guys during my travels, or else I'd be completely shocked myself."

"It's a good thing they have these, because Chris is really tall now too." Amy beamed.

"Uh, yeah. Sure am." The aforementioned boy said sheepishly, scratching the back of his head while thinking to himself. 'Man, this is embarrassing.'

Between the two conscious male humans(since Ella was still passed out), and the three Mobians, they suited Chris up in the large dark blue suit, complete with a half-giant red tie, shrugging the jacket over the boy's shoulders, the large dark brown cargo pants and leather boots, and finally a huge hat which the boy dipped over his eyes to hide his face as much as possible.

Once that was done, the others stared him up and down, with Sonic giving out an impressed whistle. "Lookin' pretty good, Chris."

"Thanks, Sonic. Though it feels kind of hot and stuffy in this thing." Chris replied, shifting a little uncomfortably in the suit. "And it kind of itches."

"Hey! I did the best I could with it. Besides, it was the last one they had available." Amy defended herself, her hands on her hips in annoyance over the boy's complaining.

Before anyone could say anything else, they heard Ella give out a moan and they all looked to see the kindly housemaid regain conscious, prompting Amy and Tanaka to approach her, the nice woman groaning and looking quite overwhelmed.

"Oh dear...I had such a terrible dream. I thought Chris somehow grew up even faster." Ella said as she was gently brought into a sitting position.

Sonic and the others shared worried and nervous glances, not sure how to tell the poor traumatized lady about this. Though given the circumstances, even Sonic still couldn't believe how big his young human friend was right now.

"Uh, Ella..." The blue hedgehog began hesitantly, before sighing as he scratched the top of his head and continued with lingering guilt. "It wasn't a dream and, part of that is mostly my fault."

When Ella looked up and saw the disguised Chris who nervously took off his hat, she nearly screamed before Amy and Tanaka tried to get her to calm down and after a few moments of the near panic attack, Sonic and the others explained what happened and while they're not certain the full cause of it despite that Eggman's machine had done it, Tails and Chuck were going to examine Chris and figure out how to return him to normal size.

"So that dreaded Dr. Eggman's laser machine meant to vaporize Sonic caused Chris to grow so big?" Ella recapped, shocked.

"I'm really deeply sorry, Ella." Sonic apologized, bowing his head in guilt.

Still shocked, Ella could see that Chris' blue friend was guilt-ridden and smiled softly, saying. "Do not blame yourself, Sonic. I'm certain everything will be fixed, but I am quite shocked that Chris has grown so big without even eating his vegetables."

That prompted a small chuckle out of everyone as the rest of the group were relieved to hear that the housemaid wasn't angry at all. With that done, and everyone was glad that they weren't expecting any visitors today, before they all left the guest room even though it was a bit a tight squeeze for Chris to fit through the doorway due to his current height. While Ella and Amy both went to make everyone lunch with an extra helping for Chris due to his current size and Tanaka went to do his other duties while keeping a look out for anyone attempting to visit, the rest of the group went to the lab.

But what they didn't even realize was that a van, under Wise's orders to keep an eye on Sonic in order to have him checked and figure out the truth so that the President will be able to win the re-election, was pulling up with the body-guards scanning and recording everything from a short distance.

"We have most of them in sightings, but it appears to be Christopher Thorndyke isn't home, but there's a strange tall man in a large suit." One of the men reported.

*In the White House*

"A strange man in a suit? What could possibly be going on an where is that-" Jerome, in his office, cut himself off and formed an idea. "Wait! Either Sonic has taken him to the kid's friends out or something else is going on! Keep an eye on them, and get me Sonic!"

*Back at the Thorndyke Manor*

In the van, the two men shared a deadpanned look as the second one shrugged, "Why do I get the feeling this is just a waste of time?"

This was going to take a bit of a while.

Sonic, Tails, Chris and Chuck were near the computers as they hooked up the 8'foot tall boy with sensors hooked up on his body after taking off his 'big' clothes, which from Chris's perspective, were no bigger than his pinky fingernail.

"When this is over, I'm never complaining about my height ever again." Chris sighed as he sat on the floor, resisting the urge to pluck the sensors off and scratch his body. "And the suction cups are making me itchy even more so than the big clothes. It's like having chicken pox all over again."

"Don't worry, Chris. We'll figure this problem out soon and if that doesn't work, I'll dash by and drag Eggman over and make him fix it." Sonic reassured with a smirk.

"Do you think Eggman will listen to us, Sonic?" Tails asked, uncertainly.

"Heh, I'll make sure of it. Besides, we have our buddy here to pick him up like a toy." The blue hedgehog replied, snickering over the idea. While the others knew he was joking, they couldn't help but imagine the look on the evil doctor's face if he was picked up by a half-giant Chris. The reaction would be priceless!

"That would be pretty funny, actually." Chris thought, beginning to feel a bit better despite that all of these electronics were making him suddenly feel a bit woozy and dizzy again, which made him wonder why it was happening.

"Well, in the meantime, let's see what's causing this sudden growth." Chuck declared as he and Tails began scanning with their computers while Sonic patted his half-giant friend's leg to comfort him, which made the twelve year old boy smile in gratitude.

Meanwhile, at Eggman's Egg Fortress that was already set up and ready to take off, the evil man himself along with his robots were boarding and preparing to depart to attack Station Square again. As soon as the Egg Fortress lifted out from the main docking area with the roof of his secret base, the giant aircraft flew off from the island and over the ocean towards Station Square.

"Oh ho ho ho ho ho! Sonic may have survived my attempts yesterday, but this time my Egg Fortress will get him for sure! Along with those bratty friends of his!" Eggman declared evilly as he sat in the cockpit with Decoe and Bocoe, while Orbot and Cubot were on cleaning duty all around the room within the flying ship.

"What are the chances of Dr. Eggman winning against Sonic this time?" Decoe whispered in boredom.

"As the previous failed attempts? Absolute zero." Bocoe responded with a shrug.

"I HEARD THAT!" The evil scientist bellowed, frightening not only the two robots in the co-pilot seats, but also the other two robots who yelped in fear.

"We got nothin' to do with it!" Cubot, mis-hearing and assumed that Eggman had over heard him and Orbot, who made a sound as though he was gulping in fear, about the mix-up with the two laser cannons the other day.

"What are you talking about, you dumbot?" The mad doctor asked, glaring at the yellow cube robot.

"Nothing for you to worry about, boss!" Orbot quickly answered for his friend, and covered Cubot's mouth to stop him from making the slip on their mistake earlier.

Eggman raised an eyebrow as he stared at the two suspiciously as he, and Decoe and Bocoe who also looked at their two metal allies, wondered what Orbot and Cubot were talking about or rather, what they were hiding. He then decided to drop it for now and focus on his goal to wreck Station Square to lure Sonic out and destroy the blue hedgehog once and for all.

Unaware that Orbot and Cubot's mix-up would soon become Eggman's biggest problem.

Alarms blared suddenly in the van which was also a signal to let the government know that Eggman was active again and the two men inside saw this on their radar and gasped in shock.

"Sir! We have an update on Dr. Eggman! He's coming to Station Square!" One of the men reported.

"What!? Now of all times!?" Wise exclaimed over the phone, before quickly informing them. "Head back to the White House immediately! We'll worry about Sonic later! Have the Army, the Air Force and the Navy on high alert!"

"Yes, sir!" The two men responded, deciding that spying on Sonic's group was a waste of time and the two drove off to do their orders, unaware that the electricity from the van, from the Mansion and within the lab was giving out sparks on Chris' enlarged body.

*In the White House*

"Ooooh! We'll never prove Sonic's crime now!" Wise complained, knowing that the blue hedgehog would no doubt arrive to stop the evil scientist and steal the President's glory yet again. The aid then whined and complained.

Back in the lab, Tails and Chuck were still trying to analyze and figure out what was going on just as Amy, Ella, and Tanaka returned with lunch, plates full of delicious sandwiches and, to the scientific duo, Sonic and Chris' surprise, a tray that held a very large sandwich about the similar size for the grown boy.

"Lunch time, boys." Ella announced as she and Amy passed the plates of sandwiches to the group.

"Ella, Mr. Tanaka and I made you yummy sandwiches and a great big one for Chris, since he'll be needing it." Amy added happily, passing two plates to Sonic and Tails, while Ella passed one to Chuck and Tanaka wheeled the tray to Chris.

"Wow! Thanks, Amy. That looks delicious." Sonic replied, taking his plate and took a bite out of his ham, lettece, tomato and cheese sandwich and beamed happily. "Pretty tasty."

Tails licked his lips hungrily and ate his sandwich to his heart's content, swallowing the first bite and said. "Thanks, Amy and Ella!"

"Our pleasure, young Tails." Ella replied smiling.

"Wow, you made this big sandwich for me?" Chris asked, amazed by the size of it, before taking it and ate it happily, before adding after swallowing. "How did you do it?"

"That's what I was going to ask." Chuck laughed.

"It is an ancient trick I learned when I was boy." Tanaka replied wisely. "In legend, one must feed food to those who are bigger than average human and Mobian, or else they become angrier as they would grow, so would their appetite and would feast on those smaller than them."

Sonic, Tails, Chris, and Chuck all paused on their eating as they, Amy and Ella all stared at the butler with dumbfounded and shocked expressions, huge sweat drops on their heads.

"Is this from another Chun-ese movie you watched?" Sonic asked flatly. "That sounds more like something from those Godzilla and King Kong flicks."

"I agree. It's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard of." Chuck agreed in annoyance.

"Well, I don't wanna eat anybody, that's for sure. One, that'd be scary and two, it's way too gross." The twelve year old boy shuddered, suddenly losing his appetite already. Just then, as he realized just as he was about to finish the last bite of his sandwich, he began to feel worse and groaned, which was noticed by everyone.

"Chris? Buddy, what's wrong?" Sonic asked, worriedly as he reached over his mini-giant friend.

"Sonic...I don't feel so good...!" Chris moaned as he dropped his sandwich, which began to scare the blue hedgehog, fearing for the boy's safety. But what caught Sonic off-guard was that just before the preteen could finish his sentence, his body began to glow blue with a faint of electricity, which soon suddenly and strangely gave off from every electronics around the room; the sensors, the computers, the lights...everything!

To make things worse, as Amy, Mr. Tanaka, and Ella noticed, Chris began to suddenly grow bigger and bigger.

Suddenly realizing that it was somehow connected to the electricity, Sonic turned quickly to his best friend/little brother and Chris's grandfather, exclaiming. "Tails, Chuck! Stop! Chris is getting bigger!"

Tails, having noticed that something was going on and his computer was going off while gasping in shock, looked up at his big brother's warning and yelped in fright, realizing that Sonic was right. Chuck also turned to look after noticing the same thing and blinked in shock, before the two quickly went to shut down their computers. But by then, it was already too late. The entire room was sparkling in electricity as was Chris who moaned and groaned and he too saw that he was indeed getting bigger.

"What's happening!?" Amy cried out fearfully.

"Oh dear! Sonic is right!" Ella exclaimed in horror.

"Everybody out!" Chuck exclaimed.

"But what about Chris!?" Sonic screamed worriedly, as he didn't want to leave his human best friend. However, he was grabbed by Mr. Tanaka and pulled out of the lab against his will.

"You will end up squished if you don't move, Master Sonic." The butler warned, pulling the protesting blue hedgehog as the room began to shake and the ceiling began to creak the moment Chris's head hit it.

"CHRIS!" The cobalt young hero screamed, unable to escape the grasp and was pulled into a safe distance from the lab. He could hear Chris scream and it made Sonic want to race back in.

But he froze, unable to do anything but watch helplessly along with everybody else. The twelve year old boy by then grew so big that he ended up crashing through the roof, the sensors being ripped off and to the shock of everybody on the ground, the garage/lab was ruined, while Chris grew bigger and bigger, now towering them and eventually he stopped...having grown from 8 feet, then stopped at 14 feet tall.

"...I think we just made the situation worse, Chuck." Tails muttered in horror, sweat dropping and wondered how could he and the human scientist mess this up.

The situation just only got even worse as everyone stared up at the now fourteen-foot fall young giant boy. Sonic could only stare on in horror and no small amount of guilt as it felt just as big inside his heart as his human friend was right now.

'This is all my fault...!' He thought to himself.

A/N: Oh dear! Chris has grown bigger and bigger already! Things aren't looking good for our heroes! To make things worse, Eggman is about to attack and Jerome Wise is about to make his move. Can Sonic and his friends solve this problem and save the day? Find out in the next chapter!
