Assignment #8 Muggle Art - Task #2: Write about someone with a vibrant personality

"What are you doing, Rose?" Severus asked, looking at the ten year old girl. She was surrounded by piles of colored thread, some of it on bobbins and some just in tangled piles.
"Making friendship bracelets," Rose answered, moving a strand of her long black curly hair back behind her ear. "Want to help?" she offered, holding up a long piece of black thread. Severus blinked, but slowly sat down criss-cross on the floor across from his daughter.
"Here, you can use the black if you want?" she offered. Severus smiled.
"I'd rather use that light blue over there," he said, after a moment. Rose grabbed and looked at it.
"The sky blue? Why? I thought your favorite color was black?" she asked, handing it to him.
"Because blue is your mum's favorite color and I'm going to make a friendship bracelet for her," Severus answered.
"Right! I'm making one for James. That's why I'm using so many different shades of pink. I have light pink, and hot pink, and magenta, and mauve, that's the purply one," she explained, holding it up.
"Does James like pink?"
"Nope! It's his least favorite color, but he stole my chocolate frog card so therefore he gets a pink bracelet," Rose said, working on weaving the threads together. Severus tried to follow what she was doing, but only proceeded to make a knotted mess. Rose wrinkled her little nose up.
"You're not very good at this, Daddy."
"I have never made one before," Severus confessed. Rose's dark eyes widened.
"Oh, here, like this," she said, showing him each step slowly and clearly. "Now that's the pattern, just switch colors when you need to," she instructed. With Rose's help, Severus' bracelet was starting to at least look like a long stringed thing versus a tangled mess.
"Hmm, it's good, but I think it needs something else," Rose commented, looking at the completed bracelet in her hands.
"Such as?" Severus asked, wondering what James would think of getting a pink bracelet and if he'd have to deal with Potter about it.
"Glitter!" Rose exclaimed. "It needs glitter!"
"We do not have glitter, not after the last time."
"Lily and I said we were sorry," Rose pouted, rolling her eyes.
"Be that as it may, glitter is still forbidden in this household."
"It's forbidden in Lily's too," Rose muttered. "Isn't there a charm?" she asked, looking at her father, giving him an innocent smile. Severus nearly burst out laughing. It was the same smile Hermione always gave him when she wanted something she wasn't supposed to have, or trying to get him to do something he didn't want to.
"Please?" Rose asked.
"Fine," Severus finally stated. He drew his wand and cast a glitter charm over the pink bracelet. It started shimmering and sparkling. Rose squealed happily, holding it up and making it catch the light.
"I'm gonna go give it to him now!" she yelled, jumping to her feet and darting off leaving Severus with a pile of thread and a half finished bracelet. He sighed as he finished it quickly.
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
"What's this?" Hermione asked, looking at it.
"According to our daughter, it's a friendship bracelet. She was making them this afternoon," Severus explained. Hermione nodded putting it on her wrist.
"That does explain why Harry's been muttering about pink glitter then. Ginny contacted me asking if I knew anything. I said I didn't."
"True, you had no idea," Severus agreed, smirking at the thought of Potter being annoyed by the glitter. He hadn't told Rose, but the charm had a habit of shedding the glitter and replacing it every hour or so, soon the Potters' whole house would have glitter in places they didn't even know existed. The spell would only last twenty-four hours, but that was more than enough to punish the boy who had stolen his little girl's chocolate frog card.
