Bastila packed her satchel. The journey ahead would be long and difficult, especially with the addition of a new padawan. It still greatly disturbed her, that the council had decided to wipe Revan's memory. She supposed he was actually Aven Rin now, as he had no recollection of his past life. Now he had a new false identity, that of a renown Republic naval officer. He was just another expendable force of the Republic now, a man stripped of everything. As much as it disturbed her to think about it, she understood him. Something had happened on the Endar Spire. Now, she had to figure out what.
"We better get going. It's time to meet your new padawan."
Carth was excited for Bastila. Although it was hard to trust anyone, especially after the defection of Malak and Revan, he knew Bastila was a loyal ally. Not only had she used her Battle Meditation in service of the Republic, but she also was one of the youngest Jedi masters to ever exist. It was an important responsibility, to be in charge of the training of a new padawan. It was especially impressive that Bastila had just completed her training and was now a master. It reminded him of an old friend. Sadly, Revan had turned out to be a Sith, and he took his apprentice with him. It worried him a bit, that Bastila seemed to be following eerily close to his footsteps. He supposed it was his own paranoia driving him to such conclusions. He could only hope.

"Nice to meet you, Aven Rin."
Aven shook the Jedi's hand. He could scarcely remember anything besides flashes of the previous attack. The battle on the Endar Spire had done such a number on his head that he could not even remember his own name. Well, at least that's what Carth had said. Hopefully, the crew could bring him back up to speed.
"Nice to meet you, Bastilla Shan."
The young man seemed so confused. It tore at her heart, seeing Revan in such bewilderment. This was her fault. If Bastilla had known the council would have torn his mind apart, she would have granted him a swift and merciful death. The only comfort their decision had brought her was that the man had the opportunity, and the potential, for good. Hopefully, his second chance at life would not go to waste.

Aven followed Carth, amazed by the intricate design of the Jedi temple. It was hard not to stare at the intricate architecture of the building, as it seemed to exhume the light side of the force. Snapping back into reality, he rushed to catch up with Carth. It was his first day as a Jedi, he could not risk falling behind already.
"I heard that you are training to become a Jedi."
The announcement had taken Carth by suprise. He knew the Jedi council was very strict with the addition of new padawans, as most were raised in the temple at a young age. Why on earth had they accepted a grown man into the order? Something seemed off, but he didn't know what. He needed to investigate Aven's past further.
"Yes."
Aven was still confused by his new title. Even if he was force-sensitive, why had they chosen him? He could scarcely remember his last mission. How did they expect him to become a Jedi Knight someday?
"You have a great teacher. Bastila is an excellent Jedi to learn from. You are in good hands."
Despite the fact he had never heard of the Jedi Knight before, the name Bastila Shan seemed familiar. Apparently, she seemed to have the Battle Meditation ability the Sith heavily sought after. Despite that, it seemed there was something more to Bastila, hiding beneath the surface. It seemed to be a key piece of his lost memories.

Heading down to the barracks, Aven Rin prepared for bed. It had been a long and confusing day, so it was a relief to finally find rest. Although he was tired, he could not bring himself to sleep. The thought of what his visions meant seemed to haunt him, causing him to fear what his lost memories could hold. Why did she fear him?
Drifting off into a quiet sleep, Aven Rin continued to have visions plague his mind. The darkness haunted his dreams, manifesting the terrible actions of Lord Revan. Yet, with every dream, the situations felt more real. Something was off. Why did it feel so familiar?

"Revan!"
Bastila shouted at the Jedi, angrily.
"Why did you betray us?"
Revan sighed. He knew it would be impossible for the Jedi Council to understand his plight, let alone a foolish, naïve padawan. In the Outer Rim, the truth had been revealed to him. The Jedi didn't want to master the force. They just wanted to contain the darkness.
"The Jedi betray you."
Bastila was confused. How could the path of the light possibly be wrong to pursue?
"They do not wish to embrace the force in its entirety. They are no better than the Sith, in a constant struggle to maintain the fragile balance of the universe. They do not understand that the Force cannot choose sides. It exists in balance."
Comprehending the Sith's words, Bastila moved towards him, pondering his statement. As a padawan, the complexity of the Force had evaded her. Now, with time to truly meditate on it, Bastila found she still knew nothing. It scared her, the possibility that this Dark Jedi could be right.
"Please, understand I do not wish to kill the Jedi. But, I will do what I must."
With that, the Dark Jedi was gone.

Waking up, Aven sighed. They seemed to always contain some hidden truth about the Force. It called to him, whispering memories of his buried past. He knew why the dreams felt so familiar, yet he didn't want to accept it. He was Revan.
