So I finished this before I watched the season finale. I really do hope she chooses Nathan tonight.

Nathan: That's a joke
Lucas: I wasn't talking to you, constable.
Nathan: Of course, you weren't, you were talking to the love of your life, right?
Lucas: Nathan this isn't your concern
Nathan: When it comes to Elizabeth, it is my concern
Lucas: Constable, she had the chance to pick either one of us and yet even after you told her you loved her she still chose me, so its high time you got over it.
Nathan: The woman I loves, loves me back yet due to certain circumstances she needs time before she can fully commit to opening her heart to loving another Mountie again. That doesn't mean she chose you and decided not to be with me, it means she just doesn't want to be with another Mountie just yet.
Lucas: You're just saying that because you are jealous.
Nathan: Whatever you need to think to make yourself feel better that you are with a woman who loves someone else.
Elizabeth: Uh guys, I am standing right here. How about I get a say in the question of who I am and am not in love with. I really wanted to have two separate private conversations with each you, something I would still like to have, however if you would feel more comfortable, we can have a three way conversation to avoid any further arguments over who and why and I chose to be with
Nathan: I'm okay for private conversations.
Lucas: Me too.
Elizabeth: Thank you. Nathan, I had really walked into town because I wanted to talk to you however, I think it would be better if I had the first conversation with Lucas if that is alright with you.
Nathan: Elizabeth, whatever you want. I am okay with.
Elizabeth: Thank you for understanding
Elizabeth and Lucas walked together in silence towards the queen of hearts where Elizabeth followed Lucas into his office. Lucas allowed Elizabeth to walk in before him and he then shut and locked the door allowing for them to receive the much-needed privacy they required for the extremely intense conversation they were about to have.
Elizabeth: Lucas, what changed? Earlier today you crushed my heart, I had finally decided to take off my rings in the attempt to fully give you my heart and yet there you were refusing to even enter my home and talk properly telling me that as I wasn't completely in love with you, you were setting me free to go be with the man of my dreams, and then as soon as I got the to the jail to talk to Nathan about our future together there you were confessing your love to me?
Lucas: I'm sorry Elizabeth, I really am. I have been in love with you for over two years. Yet after everything you had been through with Jack, I knew I had to give you time and space to open up to me, which is why when you officially decided that we would be courting I was the happiest man on earth, knowing that the woman I was in love with wanted to be with me. I kept telling myself that it wasn't that you didn't love me, but that you were afraid to leave go completely of Jack. But then I kept seeing you over and over with Nathan and that's when it finally hit me that you loved Nathan more than you loved me and in a moment of fury, a moment of anger I came to tell you that it was over between us, that I was letting you go. But then you tried running after me, you looked visibly shocked and hurt and then I began thinking that maybe I was wrong, maybe you did love me back so when I saw you in town I wanted to talk to you, really talk to you and find out what is was your heart wanted, not just what I thought was best for you, so I decided to tell you how I really felt, and that if you loved me back then we'd both be happy and if not, at least I can sleep well knowing you were with the man you truly loved.
Elizabeth: You really are one-of-a-kind Lucas. You are the most thoughtful, gentle, and kindhearted individuals I have ever met. Why did you have to be so rude to Nathan though if you knew that even after telling me how you felt I still might choose him.
Lucas: I don't know what to say Elizabeth, other than I'm sorry. Look I can respect the guy and I am super appreciative for what he does for our town but knowing that he is the guy you fell for instead of me, just brings out the worst in me.
Elizabeth: You two really do bring out the worst in each other, huh.
The two fell into companionable laughter before Elizabeth continued
Elizabeth: Lucas I think you know you were right earlier, don't you?
Lucas: Of course, I do, the question is do you?
Elizabeth: Up until you spoke to me like that I didn't.
Lucas: What changed.
Elizabeth: Let's just say Rosemary came over and knocked some sense into me. She reminded me that Jack would not have wanted me to settle because I was afraid of losing him.
Lucas: So, you're going to tell Nathan that you love him… or will you need me to do that as well.
Elizabeth: I'm going to talk to him myself, but thanks for the offer and thanks for being so understanding. It really does mean the world to me that you have been nothing but kind to me these past several weeks.
Lucas: I only want what's best for you
Elizabeth: I know you do, and for that I will be eternally grateful.
They both stood up from their chairs and Elizabeth pulled Lucas into a hug. They stayed that way for several minutes before Elizabeth pulled back, Lucas kissed her on the hand, and she walked away from his office the tears flowing freely down her face. Elizabeth finally knew she was making the right decision by choosing Nathan and as scared and petrified as she was she was also super excited and really wanted the conversation to go smoothly so she decided she would prepare something special for Nathan to show him not only how sorry she was for pushing him away, but she wanted him to know that she loved him with all of her heart and she wasn't just choosing him because Lucas had broken up with her but rather because she wanted to be with him, court him, marry him and one day have a family of their own together.
With renewed courage and strength Elizabeth walked over to the Café where she met Clara and asked her to prepare a really special picnic dinner for two. She then continued over to the Mercentile and asked Florence to help her pick out candles, flowers and a blanket. As soon as everything was ready Elizabeth took everything, she needed to the pond to begin setting up for her conversation with Nathan.
Meanwhile in the jail Allie confronted Nathan about the commotion with Lucas and Elizabeth.
Allie: Uncle Nathan what was going on outside
Nathan: It was nothing for you to worry about
Allie: Than why do you look like you want to puke
Nathan: I do not
Allie: Your face is white, and your super wobbly, you can barely stand up straight. What I'm unsure of is you are happy or sad.
Nathan: Allie please, you are reading way too much into this, I promise everything will be okay.
Allie: So Mrs. Thornton is finally leaving Mr. Bouchard and will begin to court you instead?
Nathan: Not exactly
Allie: What does that mean?
Nathan: Look, you are well aware that Mrs. Thornton had come by earlier and said she wanted to talk to me about something important.
Allie: I remember, and you thought she wanted to tell you she loved you back.
Nathan: That's what it sounded like from the tone of her voice and the nervous smile on her face
Allie: So, what happened?
Nathan: I don't even know why I am telling you all this
Allie: Because I am your daughter, and I love you and want what's best for you.
Nathan: Right
Allie: So, what happened
Nathan: When we stepped outside
Allie: because I was here, and you wanted to talk in private
Nathan: Something like that. Lucas came walking up to Elizabeth and told her that he still loved her.
Allie: NO! How dare he?
Nathan: Allie, please she is dating the guy, he had every right to tell her he loves her
Allie: So, what did she do?
Nathan: Well first we argued
Allie: Of course, you did.
Nathan: What does that mean?
Allie: Uncle Nathan, not to be rude or disrespectful but the two of you don't usually act your finest around each other.
Nathan: I know… I'm not sure why but the guy just really gets on my last nerve.
Allie: So, what happened after you argued
Nathan: Elizabeth said she wanted to talk to both of us, but she wanted to talk to him first
Allie: The nerve of her.
Nathan: Allie
Allie: No, Uncle Nathan someone has to say it. She can't keep playing around with your heart. Enough is enough.
Nathan: Its not that simple Allie.
Allie: Of course, it is. Just because two men are in love with her, and she lost her husband three years ago doesn't give her any right to treat you like garbage.
Nathan: She is not treating me like garbage Allie,
Allie: Yes, she is. Uncle Nathan. Look, I know you decided to stay here in hope valley for me, but I really think it would be best if you took that new offer as inspector in cape Fullerton.
Nathan: Are you sure Allie
Allie: Yes, I'm positive. I hate it here, I hate this town
By this time Elizabeth had finished preparing the space by the pond and walked back into town and straight towards the jail. She was determined to have zero interruptions this time. She walked up to the door and opened it just in time to hear Allie finish yelling
Allie: and I hate Mrs. Thornton.
