Previously

3 godforsaken hours of sitting around and waiting for my Mana to regenerate enough to name another one before I finally finished with naming everyone. Afterwards I rested for a few minutes before dividing the group Rigurd got me into 3 groups of 3 and started teaching each one one of my elemental control skills since I decided we needed some magic users while the rest of the village celebrated being named.

—————————————————————————————————————

Now

Apparently teaching magic is harder then I thought as it took me two days to get them to the point they could even use a little of what I taught them. Also the nice bit was that apparently Hobgoblins got a x4 modifier to their stats making them much stronger despite their stats not increasing and rather then x100 for their experience it's X1,000 so yeah leveling up was harder but their stats got a decent modifier.

I also occasionally would receive a notification that one of my subordinates had leveled up and asked if I would like to allocate their stat points. I wondered as I walked around the village seeing that all tents had been replaced with huts since I had them focus using the stone on the wall since it was more important. 'How much longer do I have before Rimuru shows up?' I thought knowing it would happen in my bones.

'I also need to get stronger faster since eventually the real threats are going to show up' I worried as I passed several of my servants who stopped and bowed before going back to work.

'Is there any skills that can help my stats increase?' I asked my system.

[Yes the ideal one would be Plunder which steals the states of whatever you kill but that cost 100 Stat a points, however there is Training Seal which cost 25 and reduces you stats while speeding up the rate at which they improve]

I'll admit I almost immediately bought Training Seal without thinking as I could actually afford it but if I saved for just eleven levels I could buy Plunder which would provide more immediate benefits to me. 'It's settled' I thought as I decided to save up before heading towards the rift and having one of the passing hobgoblins deliver a message to Rigurd saying I'll be busy for the rest of the day.

"Well this is new" I said as I stood before five skeletons atop skeletal horses, two armed with bows and three with spears. 'Gamer's Sight'

"So stronger then average but weaker than veterans" I say as I launch a wave of fire at them hoping to knock them off the horses. The moment I stop I draw my swords and ignite the air around me before leaping towards the spear men since the flames should protect me from the worst of the archers' attacks.

As one went to block with his spear I ignited my blades and cut through the shaft and it's wielder before turning to the others and unleashing a wave of ice which while it would melt easily from the heat but would keep them still for a bit the fact it also damaged them was just a bonus. I quickly moved to the archers before cutting them down as well as the horses before parrying a thrust from one of the spear men.

After quickly dispatching him and his companion I put out my flames and sheathed my swords.

"Alright now if I want those 11 levels I better hurry" I say before taking off sprinting towards the city. When I reached the initial courtyard I found something odd, there were no skeletons there at all. I drew my swords and advanced more carefully since this was odd if they had only made the ones there stronger or more numerous I'd understand but to have none was suspicious.

After a few hours and only finding a few patrols of Veterans giving me a single level I was truly guarded and ready for something to go wrong as I moved up the stairs of what I believe was the location of the Mortuary Cult in this city.

Once through the entrance I realized what they were up to 'Gamer's Sight'.

'Shit!' I thought as I looked at the two Ushabti standing guard over a Liche Priest.

—————————————————————————————————————

"So you're the one who has been making a mess of our soldiers and stealing our supplies" the Liche Priest said as it tightened its grip on its staff. "Yes well, it makes for good training" I respond, smirking while keeping my hands near my swords and my eyes sharp looking at the Ushabtis' weapons, a pair of greatswords and the Liche Priest's hands.

Before the Priest can respond I unleash waves of fire at him and the constructs while pulling my swords and covering parts of myself in ice to add to my defense before heading for the Priest to take him out first only for the two barely damaged Ushabti to block my way and the flames to disperse revealing the Priest unharmed as the air in front of his outstretched hand shimmered momentarily.

"A decent trick but I've fought better" he says before launching a bolt of lightning at me which I deflect using my own lightning. I conclude that I'll need to beat the Ushabti first otherwise they'll just keep interfering.

I swung at the joints of the right arm on the one to my left as the joints would be the weak points. But even with the flames covering my blades they didn't cut far into it before I had to dodge an attack from the one behind me.

I switched from fire to lightning hoping that in combination with my swords I could create crude high frequency blades and better cut these things. When I next took a swing I found that it had worked somewhat as it had managed to cut through its arm but had broken in the process right before I felt something large and heavy hit my side and send me flying into a wall decreasing my HP by a from that one attack.

I threw the hand of my broken sword away before grabbing another from my inventory. "It seems you have a form of pocket dimension to use as storage for your weapons and supplies" the Priest said.

I quickly ducked under a swing from the same one who hit me and went back for the one whose arm I'd cut off so I could finish it off. As I cut into its waist with my swords from each side I let go before spinning around it and kicking the top half into the other Ushabti to slow it down and pulling out another pair of swords as my other two had melted and fused together.

"One down, two to go" I said as I blocked an ice spell by launching a fireball at it. If not for the fact he was a skeleton I'd say that he looked concerned before casting several buffing spells on the remaining Ushabti causing its strength, endurance, and agility to double as well as its swords to start glowing a sickly green that when it touched a wall caused it to start smoking.

"I see you added acid properties to its swords" I observed as I switched from swords to a spear so as to keep my distance. I sent a carpet of ice hoping to slow it down or even hold it in place for a moment. As I went to thrust my spear charged with lightning only for it to block, shattering the shaft while causing the head to seemingly explode as the lightning was discharged doing some superficial damage to it and even to its one sword.

As I pulled out two new spears I charged them with lightning before repeatedly thrusting trying to land a solid hit so as to properly detonate the spear heads and hopefully kill it. Eventually one got through and embedded in its chest before pumping as much lightning as possible through the spear causing the head to shatter, melt, and explode tearing a big hole in its chest and doing enough damage to kill it.

As I let go of the shafts I reached down and grabbed two of the Ushabtis' blades before letting flames flow along them. "Without your guards you can't do much to stop me" I said as I quickly closed the distance and used my IceControl to shield me from his increasing reckless attacks as I hammered on his barrier, eventually piercing it and cutting him in half.

"What's a Nexus Coin?" I ask as I head deeper into the structure for loot.

[A Nexus Coin can be used to gain a random Skill, Item, or Companion and can be gained through various means such as defeating a 'boss' such as the Liche Priest]

"Ah that could be useful if I'm lucky" I muttered as I started rooting through the first library I found. But only found one that was intact enough and was a skill book that I could utilize.

[Skill Unlocked: Raise Undead]

[Raise Undead (Active/1): raise and bind corpses and spirits to do your bidding. 1 random new type of undead per 5 skill levels. Cost 100 MP for low tier (10), 500 MP for mid tier (5), and 1,000 MP for high tier (1). Half price for reraising undead and double price for unique undead]

I then decided to continue wandering the city after making sure that my Ushabti blades were secured to my back. "Just 3 more levels to go and I can buy Plunder." I said as I exited the building and entered the sunlight to find twelve veterans standing there with their weapons drawn.
