Hank entered the district a lot later than he typically would have after spending such a late night at the hospital the night before. Technically speaking, he didn't need to go in at all, but he wanted to see the incident report from the accident and find out exactly what happened.

As he walked in, he smiled at the officer who was filling in for Trudy for the day and asked to see the incident report. It took her a minute, but the young female officer was able to find it. Handing the folder over to Hank, she smiled and watched as Hank made his way up the stairs.

Arriving at his office, he sat down and placed the folder on his desk. He looked out at his teams' empty desks and found himself stuck on Adam's empty chair. He wondered how long it would be empty, hoping it wouldn't be permanent. Adam was a good officer. One of the best he's ever served with, and he didn't deserve what he was going through. Hank knew he had been struggling lately, especially when it came to Kevin, his dad, and hell, even him. He had no idea about the whole Kim thing though. As far as he knew, they were well on their way to repairing their relationship.

Snapping out of his thoughts, he refocused on the real reason he came into work on a Saturday. He looked down at the folder and opened it and what he seen inside had him cringing. There were photos of Adams jeep, or what used to be a jeep. The photos alone made Hank wonder how anyone could have survived. Next, he seen the pictures of the truck that hit Adam. It was a big pickup truck with quite a bit of damage to the front end. As he began reading the report, he started seeing red.

Throwing the folder down on his desk, he looked out at the empty desks again and started planning his next move. Grabbing the folder, he headed back downstairs to the officer that gave him the folder. "Where's Officer Watts at?"

The intimidated officer pointed to the door where all the patrol cars were kept and Hank stormed out.

"Watts!" Hank practically growled as soon as he laid eyes on the man.

"Hank, what can I do for you?" Watts replied sarcastically. He and Hank never seen eye to eye. In fact, they couldn't stand each other.

"Care to tell me about the accident involving one of my officers?"

Watts thought for a minute before playing dumb. "He was one of yours?"

"Come on, Derek. You know he is." Hank was in no mood for games. He threw the folder down on Watts's patrol car and opened it. Pointing at the pickup truck he continued, "This truck was stolen two days ago. Blood samples came back from the driver who fled the seen before anyone arrived. Came back to Sydney Rivero. You know who that guy is?"

"We're working on it, Hank!" Watts started raising his voice. He didn't like people trying to tell him how to do his job.

"How about I help you speed things up. He's the leader of one of the drug gangs in the city. Was doing time for driving under the influence and also was found with drugs on him. He was released from prison on Monday. So, care to tell me why you haven't gone and arrested him yet?"

Watts stared at Hank. "We can't find him."

"You can't find him? Are you kidding me? The guy has to be hurt. Have you checked local hospitals? Clinics? Anything?"

"Of course, we have, Hank. It's not that easy!"

"Not that easy." Hank laughs. "Not that easy!? How about I make it easier for you. My unit's taking over this case."

Watts was getting ready to protest, but Hank grabbed the folder and stormed off before he could get a word out. Heading back upstairs, he went to his desk and pulled out his phone to call his team. He wasn't sure who exactly would show up and who would stay with Adam, but they were going to find this guy. He went to the board and started hanging up the pictures they had so far and what he knew while he waited for his team to show up.

When they finally showed up, he was surprised to see the whole team there. He would have bet money that Kim would have stayed with Adam.

Kim noticed the questioning look she received from Voight. Truth was, she wanted to be with Adam, more than anything, but she didn't know if Adam would want her there. She wasn't ready to speak the truth out loud, that she really hurt Adam by basically accusing him of murder, so instead she said she needed to help find the guy that did this. She was grateful that Trudy had offered to stay so that Adam wouldn't be alone in the event that something happened.

Kim sat down at her desk and started looking at what Voight had up on the board so far. She kept glancing over to Adam's desk and then back to the board. Seeing Adam's picture on the victim section of the board made her feel sick to her stomach.

Kim barely heard a word that Voight said as he explained what he knew so far and what their plan of attack was going to be. She half wondered why she ever thought it was a good idea to leave the hospital. She was in no frame of mind to be working a case, especially one so close to home. It was the other half that won over though. She HAD to do this. For Adam and for herself. She wanted more than anything to be the one to put the cuffs on this guy.

Kim was paired up with Kevin on a stakeout of a house that was possibly connected to Rivero. Voight contemplated if it was a good idea to pair the two people in the unit closest to Adam together for this case, but figured they would be able to lean on each other. The two seemed determined to get just for Adam, Voight just hoped the plan wouldn't backfire.

Both Kim and Kevin were quiet for the first hour of the stakeout, focusing solely on the house they were sent to watch. It was Kevin who finally broke the silence. "I've been a shitty friend to him lately."

Kim looked over, but didn't say anything. "When we were sent to bring Wheelan in, I might have pushed too far. Wheelan was just getting under my skin, swearing he was innocent. Ruz was just trying to keep me from lashing out at the guy. Instead, I lashed out at him. I know there isn't a racist bone in his body, yet I still questioned on him."

Kim scoffed. "Seems to be a lot of that going around. This last case with Barilla and Adam's dad…" Kim paused. The whole car ride, Adam vented to me about how his dad sold him out and what would happen if Barilla was brought in. After I heard the gunshots and seen Adam standing over Barilla with two shots in his back, I immediately thought the worst. I know Adam would never kill anyone in cold blood, yet that's exactly what I accused him of."

"Think he'll forgive us?" Kevin asked. He wanted to push a little further about what Kim just told him, but he could tell it was something she didn't really want to talk about so he dropped the subject.

Kim shrugged. "I just hope he gets the chance to forgive us."

"Hey. Don't go there. You heard Will. He's fighting." Kevin tried to be optimistic.

"Yeah Kev. I heard Will. That's exactly why I'm worried."

Atwater was about to continue the conversation when he caught movement on the side door of the house they were watching.

The woman that just left the house and was walking towards her car looked a lot like the woman they were looking for. She was supposedly dating Rivero for a few years before Rivero was arrested. After he was arrested, she visited weekly for the first two years. After that, she slowly started visiting less until she stopped showing up all together. A few months ago, once word got out about his possible release, she started visiting again. Turns out she was also a nurse. If Rivero was hurt, they were positive she's the one he would run to.

Both Kevin and Kim exited their vehicle and started approaching the lady. She noticed them walking straight towards her as she was getting into her car. She immediately shut the door and took off.

Kevin and Kim ran back to their car while Kim called in the license plate number. Clearly, this lady knew something after the way she just took off, and Kim would be damned if she was going to let her get away.
