Chapter 3 - Happy Birthday, Kula!
Some hours have passed since the incident, Kula was sitting on a bench in a park
"(What I'm going to say to Diana and Seirah now?)" - Kula
"(I'm such an idiot!)" - Kula
"(What if Pamela is dead because of me? NO! I can return back to these awful days!)" - Kula shivering started having awful memories of her firsts missions when she worked for NESTS
"(Wait! Don't kill me, I'll keep working on the project.)" - Kula remembered in her mind the lasts words one of the people she was send to kill said to her
"(To late, Mr. Barton! The deadline is already over. NESTS doesn't need you anymore!)" - Said Kula to the man grabing him by the neck
"(Please dont! I'll do anything!)" - Said the man begging for his life
"(AAAUUURGGGH!)" - The man screamed loudly as Kula killed him
"NO!" - Kula screamed returning back to reality
In that moment a black van passed slowy in front of the park where Kula was, capturing the attention of her
"(That van looks familiar, I think I have seen it outside of the school sometimes. I thought it was property of some parent or teacher? What is doing driving around the park?)" - Thought Kula hiding herself behind the bench
The van stopped in the entrace of the park and two men in suits came of it
"Are you sure she went this way?" - Strange Man
"I'm sure I saw her running this way." - Said the other strange man calling the attention of Kula
"(Are they refering to me?)" - Kula saw the two men starting looking through the park. Unfortunately for Kula there was not alot of people in the park at that hour.
One of the strange men took a weird device out of his pocket and started to scan the other side of the park.
"(I have to get out of here quick! I don't want to know what these two will do if they find me.)" - Kula
Kula took a look at one of the sides of the bench and saw a small rock
"(That rock is my only way to escape right now.)" - Kula grabed the rock and aimed at a tree to call the attention of one of the men
"What was that!?" - Said one of the men when the rock hit the tree
Both men walked towards the tree, Kula took advantage of the situation and quickly jumped over the fence out of the park
"(I have to return home, that's the only place where I can be safe.)" - Thought Kula while running back to her house
Kula returned back to her house. She made her way back to her room without being seeing by her family.
"(Sigh) Finally back at home." - Said Kula before entering her room
Kula opened the door of her room and saw Whip sitting in Kula's bed with her phone
"Back so early, Kula?" - Whip
"Seirah! Yes, you see they let us return to home earlier today." - Kula
"Why is it that I don't believe you?" - Said Whip showing her phone with a video of the accident that happened betwen Kula and Pamela with the title "Kula Diamond attacks girl on local Kansas's school."
"I can explain it!" - Kula
Kula explained everything that happened to her family, including the strange van that was stalking her
"Kula, listen. I understand why you did it but you can go out there in life punching your problems." - Whip
"I know but I couldn't let Pamela hit Amelia." - Kula
"I'm so sorry." - Said Kula with a tear on her cheeks
In that moment Diana was called to her phone.
"Yes? What it is? But we can't... Tomorrow? Alright, then. Bye." - Said Diana talking on her phone
"Who called?" - Whip
"Is the director of the school. He wants to see me tomorrow to discuss what hapened today." - Diana
"This is all my fault!" - Kula
"Don't worry, I'm coming tomorrow to see the director with you Diana." - Whip
"As for that strange van, can you tell me more about those two strange men?" - Whip
"I just remember I have seen that van most of the times when I walked towards school and once when Amelia took me to some arcade place, that's all." - Kula
"(I'll have to talk about this with the commander.)" - Thought Whip looking at the window. There was none in the outside of the house
The next day
"I'm sorry to say this to you two, ladies." - Said The Director to Diana and Whip
"But we can't allow a girl like "Miriam" To continuing studying on this school. Especially now with tons of paparazzi waiting for her in the entrace." - The Director
"Is already bad for the reputation of the school that she almost killed a student." - The Director
"But Mr. Anderson, she didn't killed her. She was defending her friend, trust us. We know her and I can affirm she would never hurt someone if it wasn't to defend herself." - Whip
"I understand your point but right now I have alot of stuff that I need to take care off. I know she was never a troublesome student but I can't let her continuing assisting without a good explanation to my superiors. What do you think they would say if they know that the girl that almost killed another student is still studying here?" - The Director
"I'm sorry to say this but "Miriam" Is officially expelled." - Said The Director giving Kula's papers to her family
Whip and Diana took their papers and were ready to go but in that moment...
"Oh by the way, there's this two gentlemen who were very curious about Miriam's location, information and papers. I suppose giving them this information would be troublesome for her, I could easily keep my silence but I hope you understand that there's a certain price to pay for it." - Said The Director smiling towards Diana and Whip
"Blackmailing! Really? Well then how much is the price?" - Said Diana pulling out a big chunk of money out of her bag
"That's all? You will have to put a little bit more, Missy." - The Director
"(You corrupt old bastard!)" - Thought Whip after hearing that
Diana pulled out two big chunks of money and gave them to the director
"Thank you! And good luck, you're going to need it." - The Director
"You hear that too, right, Seirah? Two men in suits." - Said Diana as she and Whip walked out of the school
"I know, I thought they had stopped searching us after 2003." - Said Whip with a worried tone
Later that day
"Whip, you can't be here outside at this hours of the night!" - Said Foxy to Whip who was sitting outside the house with a gun in her hands
"I don't want to sleep." - Said Whip
Foxy returned back inside leaving Whip there
"(I can't let them get away with their plans!") - Whip
Some days passed after Kula got expelled
"Another day without classes (sigh)." - Said Kula in the outside of her house
"... I miss Amelia." - Kula
"And I missed you too, Kula." - Said a voice familiar for Kula, it was Amelia who was on the other side of the entrace
"Amelia! Is that really you?" - Kula
"Of course I am." - Said Amelia showing her wristband to Kula
"Amelia, I'm... I'm so sorry." - Said Kula hugging her friend
"Don't say that. I really wanted to see you again, Kula. It has been so lonely without my best friend." - Amelia
"How are things in the school? I miss going to classes." - Kula
"Everything is fine, some of our classmates wanted to see you too, here take this present that they gave me for you." - Amelia gave Kula a box with a Rose signed by some of her classmates.
"(I hope she doesn't realize all those signs were made by me.)" - Thought Amelia having faked her classmates signs
"And what happened to Pamela?" - Kula
"She is fine and doesn't bother me anymore. The doctors said she didn't have any fatal wounds." - Amelia
"I'm sorry that you have to know my secret that way, I... I really wanted to tell you by myself. I thought you didn't wanted to see me again after that?" - Kula
"Why I would not want to see my best and only friend? Even if you can't go to the school anymore we can still be friends." - Said Amelia
"Really?" - Kula
"Yes, also I can't think of anything cooler than spend time with a star like you, tell me how does it feel to participate in the tournaments?" - Amelia
"Also mind if you introduce me to your family, Kula?" - Amelia
"Of course! Let's get inside." - Kula
Kula and Amelia started to walking inside the house. They spended the rest of the day together until it was almost night
"Kula, why you didn't told me your family was so fun." - Said Amelia smiling
"I was afraid they would freak you out but I'm glad you liked them. I think even K' likes you." - Said Kula
"Now that you mention him and remembering what you told me, are you two... Together?" - Asked curious Amelia
"No. He doesn't felt the same way I felt for him." - Said Kula in a sad tone
Amelia regreted asking that
"Oh look at the hour! Your parents must be worried about you, Amelia." - Said Kula looking at the clock
"Yeah... I wish!" - Amelia
"Wait! What do you mean by that?" - Said Kula confused
"I live alone, Kula." - Amelia
"Alone? So, you don't have nobody waiting for you at home?" - Kula
"No. My parents abandoned me when I was ten." - Amelia
"Really? You don't have any grandfather, brother or sister?" - Kula
"No... But not everything is bad. In a way I'm my own boss." - Said Amelia smiling while grabing her backpack ready to go
"Wait! You don't want me to take you back home, maybe I can tell Foxy or Whip to drive you back?" - Kula
"Dont worry, I'll be fine! Tomorrow I'll come to visit you after school. Bye, Kula." - Said Amelia walking out of the house
The days continued passing, Amelia keep visiting Kula. For Kula it seens everything was returning to normal and for a short time she was happy... Especially because her birthday was close.
May 29th - Kula Diamond's Birthday
"Happy birthday to you!" - Said Amelia singing to her friend
"Wow, thanks for the cake. Is beautiful." - Kula
"You should open your gift?" - Said Amelia giving a box to Kula
"I wonder what this is?" - Kula
"Wow, is a golden necklace with my name on it. Thank you, Amelia." - Kula
"I can't believe you forgot to buy something for her!" - Said Whip whispering angry to K'
"How I was going to remember it was her birthday today." - Said K' whispering to Whip
"Are you serious?" - Said Whip with a disappointed look
"Whatever! What happened to that strange van that she saw? Did you saw it when you were unable to sleep?" - Asked K'
"I didn't manage to see them but they must be out there, everything looks so quiet on the outside. Is strange, Maxima and Foxy have told me they don't see it too when they go to work." - Whip
"Do you think they are going after Kula?" - K'
"Something tells me that's the case." - Whip
Outside in the streets
"Are you sure is this house? It seens like just a normal farm." - Said one of the strange men in the van
"According to what that old man Rogers said, this is the place where the girl named Kula Diamond lives." - Strange Man
"I don't know why but I felt we wasted our chances of catch her when she used to go to that school." - Strange Man
"You heared the orders of the boss! We couldn't do it in that moment, we weren't even sure it was her to begin with." - Strange Man
"Why not?" - Strange Man
"How many times I have told you that... Wait a moment!" - Said The Strange Man shocked after seeing something in the distance
"Are you seeing that thing? It just appeared out of nowhere at the other side of the street in front of the farm!" - Said the Strange Man to his partner
"What the hell is that thing?! Where did he came from?" - Said the other Strange Man freaked out
A strange humanoid figure had appeared out of nowhere in front of the house, on the other side of the street. The figure stayed still looking at the farm for several minutes
"Control. Control, something came out! A strange humanoid figure just appeared in front of the target's hideout." - Strange Man
"WHAT?! A humanoid figure? I hope you're not playing a joke with me, how does it look?" - Said the voice over the headset
"I don't know how to describe it, it doesn't look human at all. Whatever it is, seens like he is wearing some kind of silver and blue costume or armor. Also is wearing some kind of crown thing on the head." - Strange Man
"Are you sure you two haven't been getting drunk?" - Said the man over the headset
"Trust us! This thing just came out of nowhere." - Said the Strange men with a scared tone
"Ok. Ok, calm down! Can you two take a picture of that thing and send it to me?" - Said the man over the headset
The two men quickly took a picture of the creature and send it to the HQ
"Oh my god! What the hell is that thing?! What is that doing right now?" - Asked freaked out the man in the other side of the line
"He has been just there, standing looking at the farm where the targets lives." - Strange Man
"We can't let that thing ruin the mission!" - Said the other strange man totally freaked out pulling a gun
"No! Wait, we don't know what is he doing there. Just keep calm and watch him, don't lose him out of sight." - Said the man over the headset
The strange humanoid figure looked firmly to where the black van was scaring the two agents
"He is looking at us!" - Said one of the agents
The strange figure starting waving his finger side to side to the agents, scaring them even more.
In that moment the strange figure throwed a big laser to the van out of his hand
"OH SHIT!" - Both agents started opening the doors of the van but it was too late
The van was obliterated by the laser quickly. The figure continued walking slowy towards the farm
"Agent Fisherman! Agent Roderick! Answer me! Ah dammit! I think that thing just destroyed the van." - Said the man in the other side of the line after losing comunication with the agents
"Quick, calling all the agents close to the zone. Requesting backup immediately. An emergency has occured." - Said the man
Inside the house
"So what do you think about it, Kula?" - Amelia
"I loved it! Thank you so much, Amelia." - Kula
"I'm sorry certain someone didn't buyed something for you." - Said Amelia looking angry at K'
"(Oh great! Even this girl thinks I'm an asshole, whatever! I don't care what Kula's annoying friend thinks of me.)" - K'
"It doesn't matter, being here with all of you is actually the biggest gift I can ask. Thanks for coming in, Amelia. I will never forget this." - Said Kula super happy
In that moment a strange circular object came clashing down the window for the shock of everyone, the object started emiting a sound
"(What the hell!)" - Thought Whip realizing what the object was
In that moment the object explode, sending everyone flying to different directions and destroying a big portion of the house
Kula managed to awaken during the confusion, the house was now on flames, she recovered of the ground and starting looking for her family and friend.
"Seirah! K'! Amelia!" - Kula saw her family unconscious in the corners of the house, she also saw Amelia on the ground
"AMELIA!" - Kula quickly runned towards Amelia's body.
"AMELIA! AMELIA! Please wake up! Wake up! Don't leave me, please!" - Kula tried to awaken Amelia but Amelia didn't answer. She was dead.
"AMELIA! NO! NO! NO! Please don't go!" - Said Kula with tears on her face while holding Amelia's body in her arms
In that moment Kula heared some heavy steps coming closer. She quickly got up and saw a strange figure coming out of the smoke entering the house
"Wh... WHAT ARE YOU?!" - Asked Kula to the humanoid creature that was standing in front of her
The strange creature looked human but at the same time not. It was wearing some kind of silver and blue armor, like some kind of space suit
"Hi, miss Diamond!" - The Strange creature called Kula by her name with a very deep and menacing robotic voice
"H... Ho... How do you know my name?!" - Said Kula totally shocked
"Oh I know alot of things about you, miss Diamond." - The strange figure grabed Kula by her neck
"But first let me wish you a Happy birthday!" - The Strange figure starts strangling Kula
