Chapter 3: Truthful Ramen

Ame had been in and out of sleep for the last two days. Today as she woke a female told her they can remove the bandages over her eyes. Standing near the corner of the room ever vigilant is Shino. He has reported to the doctors any changes and any new updates to the Hokage. He stands watching as the nurse slowly takes off Ame's bandages.

"Your eyes will be sensitive for a few hours. So I'm going to close the blinds and curtains to help. I also have eye dropsto help. Two drops in each eye, three times a day for a week."

Ame takes a deep breath and slowly opens her eyes. Even though he had seen them a few days ago her eyes still caught him off guard. Her left eye was a misty grey, the right was a deep blue as if you were gazing into the depths of the ocean. He found that his breath had caught in his throat.

"Thank you. Any news of my father?"

"They are still looking. Plus you should focus on recovering. You don't want him to see you in this state."

Ame blushes darkly. She nods her head and looks down. The nurse smiles and heads out. She stops by the door and glances back.

"Oh by the way, that young man there is the one that found you and brought you here. you might want to say thank you."

She smiles and leaves. Ame glances at him. He is wearing his overly large jacket, and dark sunglaces that he had on the first time she saw him. She opens her mouth to say something but then instantly closes it. She does this several times at a lost for words. For the situation not even thank you seems to be enough. He brought her to the village of her father. He got her medical help that had to save her life because she wasnt dead. Now he has been standing guard watching over her.

Ame looks down at her hands trying to think of a way to repay him. At the moment nothing is coming to mind. Glenching her fists she slowly gets up carefully. She bows to him.

"Shino Aburame, I, Ame Uzumaki, thank you for saving my life. I don't know as of yet how but I will repay you this I swear."

He nods his head at her then moves to help her back into bed. A small shock runs along her skin where his comes in contact with it. Without her control, Ame's cheeks burn with a blush. As soon as the covers are placed back over her a woman comes in with a bag. She smiles as she sets the bag at the foot of the bed. She opens it up and sets to work putting together a bowl of ramen.

"I was told you were awake. My name is Ayame. My father and I own the best ramen shop in town. Some of Shino's friends came in haqving ramen and wanted to make sure you got to try it and that Shino got to eat."

Ame's face turns red as a cherry when her stomach growls very loudly. Ayame giggles and steps around the end of the bed to hand her a bowl. When she looks up, a gasp escapes from her mouth and she drops the bowl. Ame jumps and reaches out to try to catch the bowl only to find it floating in a swarm of bugs. The brown hair black eyed young woman stares at the silver haired young lady in the bed. Shino waits as Ame corrects herself then has the bugs set the bowl on the tray next to the bed. He wheels it so it sits over her lap comfortably.

"Clover? Is that you? No you it can't be. so then are you her daughter?"

Ame looks at the woman. She gasps. One eye was of Clover but the other was grey just like her elder brother's.

"My name is Ame Uzumaki. My mother was called Clover once when she lived here in this village. Did you know her?"

Ame looked at her with nervousness and hope in her eyes. Ayame blinked then walked around to the other side of the bed and sits down in the guest chair.

"Clover was the name of my elder brother's lost love. She left to go get herbs but never returned."

"Where is he? Your brother? Please tell me!?"

Ame gently moves the tray away and sat up on her knees and looks at her a little more excited. Ayame looks down at her hands sadly.

"He's gone. He believed that Clover was kidnapped by enemy ninja; since she resembled Lord Forth's mate. He went out to go find her. He and my father faught. That night the nine-tails attacked the village. He- I-"

Ame covers her mouth and moves back a little. Tears flowing from her face.

"He died?"

Ayame noded her head sadly. Ame moves and sits back. her long silver hair hides her face from veiw. She shakes so visibly. Ayame calls for the nurse as she stands up. Shino moves next to her and wraps an arm around the crying girl's shoulders.

"Breathe Ame. Breathe."

Ame feels a little pinch and looks down to see a bug has bit her. Her body grows heavy. Her eye lids start to close of their own will. Ame struggles to stay awake. She sees a blurry Shino help her under the covers and speak to someone. Her ears seem to have turn themselves off. Ame manages to reach out and grabs his jacket sleeve before everything goes dark.
