The sound of sirens echoing loudly in the far distance. Screams of panic erupting from the gathering crowds that can't believe what they are seeing is truly real. But it is. OCP. Omni Consumer Products. What was one of the wealthiest and most powerful companies in the entire world engulfed in flames. A scene that nobody ever expected to see. Not from this company. A company that was systematically taking over not only the streets of Detroit but the entire city. A city that is now left reeling fearing the worst with so many conflicting reports being heard.
So many whispers that strike fear into the hearts of many. Whispers of how on this day Mayor Kazak had gone inside of this building to have a private meeting with the higher ups to discuss an undisclosed deal made between the two parties. Parties in which have yet to be accounted for with many fearing that they had met their demise somehow. Some say that they had been caught in the fires that had first started from the very top levels of the building. Others say that someone had assassinated each and everyone of them and are using the fires as cover to destroy the evidence.
None could say for certain the fate of both parties involved. All except for two individuals. These two time travelers that are seen making their way slowly away from the city heading south into the outskirts. It had been so easy for that to just walk out the front gates. Had been so easy for them to blend in with the screaming crowds before breaking away to make their retreat. Nobody had suspected a thing. Not any of the police officers that had arrived on the scene. Not any of the many firefighters that had immediately went into action in an effort to wash away the roaring flames. Not even the medical personnel that had quickly tended to those that had been injured whether it be by the blasts from within the building or the broken glass raining down upon them from high above.
It had all been a part of the plan. An ingenious plan. No video evidence left for anyone to find. All of that had been erased with only the past day remaining in it's archives. In fact if anyone was to look in the databases all work that had been achieved for the last thirty years has now been erased. All witnesses that could have identified them had been terminated without any remorse. And most important of their main objectives had been completed. To terminate the men responsible for running this company. This billion dollar company that proved to be their many enemy with a different name attached. OCP is Skynet or was anyways. Nothing would remain after this day. Their leaders are all dead and gone to the world. Their ideas are erased from history. All that remains now is ridding the world of their greatest creation and that is exactly where they are heading right now.
Back to the abandoned warehouse that can be seen off in the not so far distance. The final resting place for Skynet. That they would make sure of and that thought alone makes the individuals smile. One that sits in the passenger's seat with the widest of smiles knowing soon enough the nightmare that has plagued him for his entire young life would soon be coming to an end. As for his companion? Well if you were to look at her closely from the driver's seat you would find the faintest of smiles across her face as her eyes remain locked on the scenery in front of them. A smile that would widen slightly whenever she would feel her right hand being squeezed. The possibilities that would now be open to them once this last mission is completed.
But first they need to accomplish this one last objective. This new determination that makes Cameron step a little bit harder on the gas pedal making their silent car ride up towards the abandoned warehouse a lot quicker until before John knows it she brings the vehicle to a stop just outside of the warehouse's locked doors. Turning off the ignition with a flick of her wrist depositing the car keys up high above behind the dashboard mirror the moment she turns to look back towards John immediately Cameron is shocked when John wraps his free hand around the back of her head and pulls her into a kiss. A kiss that she has no problem in returning as she manoveurs herself across the seats to straddle his lap deepening the kiss before after what seems like eternity she breaks the kiss and looks down towards him happily.
" You did it."
Unable to keep her smile from widening, shaking her head lowering her head down gently Cameron rests her forehead against John's own.
" No John,we did it."
Grinning up towards her smiling face that just seems to be getting wider by the second wrapping his arms firmly around her to bring her even closer into his chest once again feeling her lips on his own before he can return the kiss just as fast as they were there they vanish and he opens his eyes to see Cameron giving him the best stern look she can muster despite her wide smile.
" But there is still one more thing that we need to do."
Nodding his head in understanding letting out a sigh sending a smile up her way only to be rewarded with a peck of her lips feeling her getting off from his lap to make her exit following her example John exits out of the vehicle and circles quickly around to once again entwine his fingers together with Cameron's own earning him another smile before slowly he feels himself being lead towards the locked doors to the abandoned warehouse. Or so they thought anyways. Something that is immediately noticed when she brings him to a drastic halt with her eyes glued directly ahead towards the doors.
" What's wrong?"
Ignoring the question for the time being releasing his hand taking a couple of steps forward as she takes a good hard look around to pinpoint if anyone else is out there with them finding no such evidence for the time being Cameron looks back over her shoulder towards John as she points her left index finger dead ahead at the warehouse's doors.
" Someone was here recently."
Following her hand instantly as though knowing fully well what she is saying is true John's eyes go wide as his right hand reaches back to unclasp the handgun from the waistband of his jeans. The evidence was there staring him dead in the eyes. The chains that had once been padlocked on the doors were now laying on the ground with the locks snapped as though someone had used a set of pliers on them. Footprints that weren't there before could be seen in the dirt leading into the warehouse. Such things that make his eyes widen further and his grip on the handgun to tighten before silently he follows after Cameron as she enters inside of the warehouse showing no fear.
His terminator protector that just silently walks through the warehouse not making a sound glancing all around them. Glancing at every place that she would deem to be the perfect advantage point to use. Glancing at every single corner. At every level of the structure. Even towards every abandoned pallet. All these places that are shown to be empty making her trek on through while John follows silently a small distance behind her doing the exact same thing. Who could have come here was anyone's best guess. Was it possibly another terminator? Could it have been the terminator that they had brought here?
Too many possibilities for their liking but one goes right out the window as they emerge into one of the backrooms of the warehouse. A vacant table. A table where once a deactivated and what they thought to be a destroyed terminator was resting on now empty with the tarp that had been covering the body laying on the cold ground by their feet.
" What do you think?"
Making sure to never focus on one particular place for long keeping his eyes constantly moving around all around them looking for even the slightest glimpse of anyone that might be out there taking a brief moment to glance towards a kneeling Cameron inspecting the ground by her feet that show tire tracks slowly John locks eyes with her.
" These tire tracks are fresh. A couple of hours ago. Maybe less."
" Do you know what they are from?"
Nodding her head returning her attention towards the ground gently Cameron rests her right hand down and starts to trace the tire tracks with her fingers.
" They are from a standard police cruiser. These tracks indicate three police cruisers were here to be more exact."
Letting out a frustrated sight quickly taking his head into his hands throwing back his head taking a long deep breath John turns his sights back towards Cameron finding her looking up towards him with a frown.
" What do we do? If the police have the body then they will be keeping it under lock and key not allowing anyone to get near it before someone comes to transport it away. We can't have it fall under the wrong hands. If we do then we will just be allowing another Skynet to be created in this one's place."
Agreeing with everything that he is saying Cameron nods her head in understanding. Everything he was saying is true. They needed to recover the body. If they didn't then someone would get their hands on it for research. Someone would study the body and make modifications of their own creating an even more advanced terminator. And they couldn't have that. Especially in this timeline. A timeline where things have already changed so much. No Cyberdyne Systems. Instead in its place was an even far greater threat than either of them could even realize.
OCP. Omni Consumer Products. That is the name Skynet has decided to call itself in this timeline. A Skynet that was already starting to take over in different ways. A terminator model already out on the streets with many others already in production far sooner than they should be. A company that had already taken over a city much like Skynet had done in the future turning Los Angeles into Skynet Central. Too many rapid changes that needed to be met with immediate reaction much like this one and she knew what needed to be done. So much so as with a look of determination Cameron rises back up to her feet drawing John's full attention and locks eyes with him.
" There is only one thing that we can do."
She couldn't believe the absolute bullshit that she is hearing. All these snobs and so-called great minds arguing back and forth between each other claiming what can and can't be done. She couldn't stand it. All of these OCP scientists acting like spoiled little children not getting any closer to finding a solution for what is in front of them. The solution should be simple. At least it is in her eyes. To fix him. To find a way and fix him. The cyborg that is hung up by chains with his lifeless eyes staring straight down towards the ground. These eyes that she can't even muster the courage to look up towards again. Especially towards his face. A face that just shows pain and shock with a noticeable gunshot wound directly in the middle of his forehead.
And that brings another question to mind. Just who had done this? Was it Cain? The mad man that is quickly making headlines throughout the city for producing a new drug known as Nuke. Possibility. She wouldn't write off that possibility. He would have the motivation to rid the city of it's greatest asset. Of it's greatest law enforcement officer. With Murphy out of the way in theory there would be no one in his way to stop him. That just had to be him right?
Or could have it been someone else? Someone that the city has never seen before. She could remember the previous night so well now. Remember how she along with the rest of her fellow officers had been taking turns responding to calls over the radio when the radio had come to life requesting an officer to attend to a 911 call from Rick's State of The Art Weapons. A request quickly taken by Murphy before anyone could even get up to answer the radio. That had been the last time she heard his voice. Her partner that she would not hear from for the rest of the night. Would not see when she arrived at the station making her worry and immediately go out in search of him using a tracking device implanted inside of him. She just didn't expect to find him like that. To find him resting unmoving on a table in an abandoned warehouse on the outskirts of town with a tarp covering him.
But if it had been Cain wouldn't he have just disposed of Murphy's body or was he playing to show his body off as a warning to all those that dared think to cross him? Perhaps what is even happening now outside of this station is another one of his schemes to inflict fear into the hearts of the citizens of Detroit. OCP being burned to a crisp. The early reports stating that the old man along with his trusted advisors responsible for controlling the company reported to be missing. Good riddance if you ask her. The world is a much better place without him though another report stating the mayor too is found to be missing is a bit disturbing. Perhaps it had been Cain's plan all along to eliminate all threats to him in one clean swoop. First her partner then the next two that could challenge him. She would have to think more on this later. First thing first she along with the rest of the citizens that call Detroit their home need him back on his feet. Need Murphy. Need Robocop back on the streets.
" I'm telling you for the last time there is nothing we will be able to do! The brain is dead!"
" And i'm telling you that it's not completely dead!"
She couldn't bear hearing another word of this. The anger was already showing on her face. God she wants nothing more than to give these white coats a piece of her mind and stop them from arguing to instead fix her partner. So much so that she silently stalks over towards them and grabs the nearest one by the front of his lab coat and gets right in his face but before she can get a word in edgewise suddenly a loud explosion is heard echoing off the walls. An explosion that makes the entire room shake causing Lewis to instantly let go of the scientist and spread her arms out in order to ensure she keeps her balance. Shaking the moment it ends makes her quickly snatch her standard issued handgun from her belt and release the safety.
Well if there was one good thing to come out of the chaos just outside of these walls it was this. At least the angry mobs outside have died down. That is the only one true good thing that he can come up with. Everything else on the other hand? Well the only word he can think of to describe it is chaos. His bosses. The one's now running the entire show. Running the station. Hell even running the entire city is now going down in flames. He would say good riddance to them but he would think better of it. Sure the higher ups he would have no problem watching go. He couldn't even think of a single person that would mourn any of their deaths but those under their command? The backbone of their company? Men and women that have and continue to lose their lives while trying to make a simple living? Those are the ones he would mourn.
And the same could be said for his fellow officers. They might still be outside fighting for their rights as officers. He wouldn't blame them. The cut backs made by OCP were way out of hand. To cut an officer's pension. To reduce their salaries. If he didn't have a family himself perhaps he too would be standing outside with them but he doesn't. Instead he sits behind the glass booth directing traffic while all those that follow his same mindset are working the phones at their stations. Some that looked severely overworked. Some with panicked looks across their faces. Probably from knowing someone that worked for OCP.
Letting out a sigh taking a brief moment to grasp his coffee mug to take a long deep sip knowing the next few days are going to be long ones suddenly the sound of glass shattering causes him to snap open his eyes and tilt his head towards the entrance doors until suddenly Sergeant Reed knows no more. His last image of a metallic circular object coming his way before it explodes. An explosion that shatters the glass booth he was behind sending broken shards of glass shattering all around. Causing officers that had made their way past to be caught in the blast. This explosion that not even a few seconds after as glass continues to fall down to the ground unnoticed by everyone a lone female figure makes her way through the smoke filling the air. A female that is unbothered by the smoke crushing the shards of broken glass underneath her boots and occasionally steps over a few of the lifeless officers in her path.
Unfazed by the smoke directing her head to look around immediately finding a couple of officers standing not too far away coughing violently with their hands raises up to cover their face showing no remorse raising up the M4 firmly in her hands within a blink of an eye Cameron presses down on the trigger sending round after round soaring through the air. Rounds that make quick work of the officers in front of her turning them into swish cheese. Shredding their uniforms. Turning their shirts a deep crimson as their respected body are sent back from the sheer force hitting their chests until they finally collapse. Ceasing fire for a few split moments to look around once again as she hears the sound of rushing footsteps approaching from behind her in a swift move Cameron snaps around and immediately presses down on the trigger sending a wave of rounds soaring through the air that instantly hit a rushing officer with his gun already drawn sending him down to the ground lifelessly in a bloody mess.
Releasing the empty clip only to immediately slap in a fresh clip looking back towards her screen of the blueprints of the building on the lower right turning back around to once again stalk through the station the moment she makes her way across what used to be a bullpen the sound of multiple rushing footsteps coming from the destroyed main entrance makes her look over her shoulder. Officer after officer with some dressed in their street clothes pilling inside. Some with some sort of sign in their hands. Others with their weapons drawn but no matter. She has a mission to complete. The words of all life are sacred still sticks with her. Always have and always will but if it costs sacrificing a few to save billions? That is a cost she will pay and her next action speaks of it when she snaps around and cocks back on the barrel launching a grenade their way before another loud explosion is heard echoing off the walls.
Remaining rooted to her spot scanning through the smoke seeing no movement coming from anywhere in her sight turning back around without showing any remorse Cameron stalks back forward exiting out of the bullpen and turns the corner heading down a hallway. A hallway that immediately she aims and fires down when officer after officer snap open doors with their heads peeking out. Heads that snap back when a round lands cleanly in the middle of their foreheads dropping them instantly. A hallway that quickly flows with a river of blood as the sound of boots splashing echoes off the walls.
Keeping her head constantly moving looking for anymore resistance in her path turning a corner immediately heading down into the lower levels as she sees a steel fence coming up with stopping cocking back on the barrel immediately Cameron launches an grenade causing another loud explosion to thunder off the walls before she easily steps over what was once the locked gate. This sound that draws attention from the end of the hallway making her press down on the trigger sending scatter shot after scatter shot of rounds forward that strike violently against everything they touch. Rip apart the officers in their path. Rip apart skin. Destroy bones. Destroy the walls in back of them. Rounds that keep coming striking fleeing scientists that had been round the corner turning their white coats crimson dropping them lifelessly to the ground.
Hearing the clip running dry dropping the now useless M4 down to the ground without a second though Cameron reaches behind her to grab a pair of berettas that had been strapped to the waistband of her jeans before without any hesitation he rounds the corner walking over a deceased officer's body. That is until she turns her head and immediately her progress comes to an halt when a lone round strikes clean against the middle of her forehead snapping her head back.
Unable to keep the look of shock from her face as she watches her fellow officers being mowed down right in front of her before any of them can get a single shot in edgewise remaining rooted to her spot with her handgun pointed directly ahead ignoring the frantic and foolish scientists that rush past her with a few of them bumping into her keeping her aim true hearing the sound of a clang followed quickly by clicks of a weapon being loaded taking a firing position the moment she sees a young brunette making her way around the corner with a pair of berettas without thinking twice instantly Lewis pulls back on the trigger sending a lone round soaring through the air that hits it mark. A round that strikes this unknown terrorist directly in the middle of her forehead snapping her head back but to her shock and horror doesn't drop her. No the young woman remains on her feet and snaps her head back to look her way with this emotionless look.
It just wasn't possible. She had hit her dead on. Nobody could withstand that. Not at this range. Not where they had been hit. She should be down on the ground dead at her feet. This horror that can clearly be seen across her face as she stares at her in shock before as though time was slowing down Lewis watches her raise the berettas up her way until time suddenly goes back to normal as gunfire echoes off the walls. As round after round strike her clean in the chest. As round after round strike her in the arms. In her legs until they give out and she drops to the floor gasping for breath. Each breath that is harder to take as blood drips down from everywhere. From all of her many gunshot wounds. From the blood pouring out of her mouth trickling down her chin.
Lowering down the berettas making her way forward with only the sound of the heel of her boots clanging off the walls coming to tower over the spasming and barely breathing body of Lewis looking the officer dead in the eyes slowly Cameron lowers the beretta in her right hand down pointing it directly at her head.
" Murphy."
A whisper that is suddenly silenced when a loud gunshot echoes off the walls as a lone round strikes clean into the middle of Lewis's forehead making her head drop back and stagger to the side. Turning her attention back forward walking over the deceased officer's body without any delay Cameron continues to stalk forward down the hallway until she finds herself staring at a small fenced room. A room that for the first time since arriving in this station she allows a flicker of a smile to come across her face when she sees the very body that she had come here for chained up hanging off the ground. Strapping the beretta in her left hand back to the waistband of her jeans snapping her hand out to slide the cage door off to the side with ease making her way over towards the chained up body just as she comes to stand directly in front of it a silent sob draws her attention.
A sob coming from a woman hiding underneath a desk clutching another scientist for dear life with tears trickling down her cheeks. These two scientists that she just stares down at for a few seconds before looking back towards Robocop making them have a glimmer of hope that they are about to be spared. Hope that is ripped away when without looking she raises up her beretta and unleashes round after round silencing them forever.
Robocop. That had been the name that the Skynet of this world chose to call it's terminators. What was disguised to be the next step in law enforcement but they knew better. No he was only the start of a bigger picture. A world that would be soon filled with many of his kind. A world ruled by machine. A world where these robocops would flood the deserted and destroyed streets feasting on the survivors after the bombs dropped.
But not anymore. No he would be the first and only one of his kind. This deceased and deactivated machine that stares up towards them lifeless with fear and shock still seen across his face as they look down upon him from the second level. The abandoned warehouse was now out of the question. There was always the chance someone that had been there the first time to retrieve the body would come back again. No they had to use another place to expose this body. They just didn't think they would find one so easily. An abandoned steel mill. A place that had last been used a short year ago by a now deceased crime boss known as Clarence Boddicker. A mill that provided them everything they would ever need to dispose of this machine. Just like what is directly in front of Cameron right now. Acid. An entire barrel full of acid. There was so many to choose from in this mill but this one she deemed would do the trick.
Looking over towards her face seeing her eyes glued down below giving her hand a squeeze without having to mutter a word John watches Cameron tip the barrel over easily with her boot and watches the contents of the barrel pour down from the barrel high above down onto Robocop's body. Acid the moment it hits its mark makes this sizzling sound. Makes this burning smell fill the air as it does its job melting away the metal of the machine down below so easily. A scene John watches unmoving with a smile coming across his face as he squeezes Cameron's hand.
" It's over."
Nodding her head giving his hand a gentle squeeze with a smile coming across her face as though he knew what was already coming Cameron watches John look her way.
" Yes it is and I believe you still do owe me something? I did come back all in one piece after all."
Unable to keep the grin from coming across his face that just makes her smile widen nodding his head gently John squeezes Cameron's hand.
" Well a deal is a deal."
Keeping his eyes glancing around to look for his target showing no fear whatsoever clutching the bag already in his right hand even tighter without any delay John makes his way down yet another shopping aisle with his eyes dancing around looking for a glimpse of the purple object he seeks. A deal was a deal after all. He was just surprised how committed she was to owning that jacket again. What would be the odds that he finds that same style jacket again. Especially now that they are thirty years into the future from when they first purchased the piece of clothing? No matter he would do his absolute best to find it. She deserved it after all. If she wanted that jacket then he would find that jacket. But speaking of her where did she go anyways?
Taking a look around hoping to spot a familiar wave of brown hair anywhere in sight only to come up empty frowning slightly shrugging his shoulders turning his head back forward suddenly a small grin comes across John's face that makes him pick up his pace. A metal clothing rack filled to the brim with hanging coats on hangers. A rack he makes a beeline towards before silently starts to rifle through the selections for a glimpse of dark purple pushing all those that don't match to one side. This silent search that suddenly draws that attention of two others that can't help but giggle when they see him.
Such giggling that makes John freeze and look over his shoulder to see two young women ruffly a little bit younger than him looking his way with one looking at him hungirly. This look that turns into disappointment when he raises up his left hand showing off a silver ring making her frown for a second before they hurry away giggling. Shaking his head in amusement turning his attention back towards the clothing rack right when his fingers graze the next coat in front of him.
" They are such bitch whores."
Unable to keep himself from smirking turning to look towards his right finding a slightly frowning Cameron standing a few feet away holding a small black bag in her left hand abandoning the clothing rack making his way over without giving her a chance to respond John pecks her on the lips.
" You know something? I'll never get tired of you saying that."
Instantly receiving a questionable look with his smirk widening John casually shrugs his shoulders causing Cameron to tilt her head in confusion.
" You're just full of surprises."
Accepting his answer in the form on a smile nodding her head happily Cameron returns his peck with one of her own.
" Yes,yes I am."
Looking over his shoulder towards the coat rack she had seen him searching through silently making her way past him quickly doing the same after just mere seconds of flipping through the coats with unhumanlike speed suddenly a bright smile comes across Cameron's face as she snatches a coat off from the rack. A dark purple coat that she can't help but bring up towards eye level to inspect further that just makes her smile widen even further causing John to smile from just behind her.
" You really love purple don't you?"
Nodding her head happily with a twinkle in her eye turning to look back towards a grinning John a seductive smile comes across Cameron's face.
" You'll just have to find that out later for yourself."
Sending him a quick wink without any delay Cameron silently makes her way out of the aisle leaving a silent John pondering her words. Words the moment they register with the bag that she is carrying makes a wide grin come across his face before he quickly jogs forward to catch up with her and takes her free hand within his own.
