The first dinner of the year in the Great Hall was always special, no matter how long you have been a Hogwarts student. Rose had gracefully slid into the gap that James had left for her beside him and turned to watch the sorting ceremony, which consisted of many new Gryffindor's joining their table. Whenever a Gryffindor was sorted James would whistle loudly and slam his hands together in appreciation of the newcomers, Rose chuckled at his antics and adopted a more sophisticated style of applause.

After the first years, came the new students, the most notable of which being the school's latest heartthrob Scorpius Malfoy, unsurprisingly he was sorted into Slytherin house.

Before long Headmaster Longbottom said his few words and the feast begun. Rose practically had to shield herself as James dove into the assortment of food around him. She and Dominique shared a conversation with Lily Potter, James' younger sister and Rose's younger brother Hugo.

It was halfway through dinner when a loud racket sounded outside the doors of the Great Hall. The student and teachers quietened and turned toward the noise and the doors burst open a red head boy with long legs, terribly alternative muggle clothing and the goofiest smile you will ever see came strutting into the Great Hall. The Gryffindor 7th years erupted into cheers, as the troublemaker took a bow and seated himself next to James throwing his arms around the other boys shoulders.

"Good to see you're out of muggle Azkaban" James said trying to give his cousin Fred an unimpressed look but failing miserably, and resorting to a grin.

"Well I'm sure you worried and missed me terribly on the express, didn't you lot," Fred said smiling at the assortment of Weasley's and Potter's around them.

"Of course we did," Rose said sarcastically, causing Fred to give her a displeased look "shouldn't you still be in jail?" Rose added.

"Well you know me," Fred said ruffling her hair "I couldn't miss the start of year Hogwarts party that I helped plan!" he said exasperatedly.

Rose rolled her eyes,

"So how did you get out?"

Fred who had wasted no time in loading up a plate for himself turned to Rose with a mouth stuffed with potatoes and gravy, chewing quickly he swallowed before saying with a mischievous grin "well let's just say that I still had my wand and 3 snakes were involved."

"Sounds like something I should have been there for," James said, giving Fred a hefty pat on the back.

Fred nodded,

"We should definitely do it together next time!"

Rose along with the rest of the cousins listened to Fred's sordid tale. Oohing and aahing at all of the right moments. In the back of her mind Rose was thinking about how if Fred hadn't been such an idiot in the first place she wouldn't be saddled with the burden of sourcing the contraband. She frowned as she thought about the rumours she was going to cause when she'd have to approach Andre at the Slytherin table. She'd been putting it off as soon as she'd entered the Great Hall.

Now is as good a time as ever she told herself, looking over to where Andre sat across the hall. Their eyes met and he gave her a wink, as though he knew exactly how uncomfortable she felt about crossing the distance between them.

Damn it! She had to do this, she told herself. Get it over and done with Rose, just get up and walk over there. With determination and grit and before giving herself more time to dread the expedition she rose from her seat, she and James exchanged a nod and she walked away from the safety of her Gryffindor huddle.

Rose felt the eyes on her as she meandered past the Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw tables, when she finally reached the Slytherin table she was sure a quarter of the population of the Great Hall were watching her.

She picked up the pace and headed straight for Andre, he was giving her a shit eating grin. She shook her head but couldn't keep her own grin from slipping. God she was an idiot. She walked closer toward him, until she was standing right beside him, he and Dillon turned toward her and they gave each other a look before Andre spoke to her.

"You'll find what you're looking for in the kitchens," Andre said, giving her a wink.

"Where in the kitchens?" Rose asked,

Andre shook his head,

"That's for you to find out Red," he said,

"Stop with your treasure hunt bullshit please," Rose said,

Andre smirked in reply,

"But that's the best part," he said, before he turned back to his food, dismissing Rose in the process.

She was tempted to demand more information from him but that would only serve to make more of a scene out of their conversation. Instead she slid her hands over his shoulders as if she was going to give him a massage and leaned in close enough for him to hear what she said. Andre stiffened at the contact and Rose's mouth curled into a smirk that could rival any Slytherin's.

"You better not be sending me on a wild goose chase," she chided.

Andre chuckled and turned his head toward her.

"If you leave before the end of the feast, I guarantee it will be there waiting for you, as long as no one else has found it first," he replied.

"I'll take your word for it," Rose said.

Fifteen minutes after her chat with Andre the feast had died down and people had started to head for their common rooms, knowing exactly what she had to do Rose slipped out of the Great Hall.

Casually she made her way to the Hogwarts kitchens. One eye over her shoulder for anyone that might be following her. The way Andre had spoken it sounded as though she mightn't be the only one sent on this treasure hunt, which meant she knew she needed to get to the contraband first.

As she turned the last corner to the kitchens she stopped in her tracks to see a figure already at the door, or rather standing at the framed picture of the bowl of fruit. He was leaning on the wall arms crossed and lifted his head toward her as she approached.

"Malfoy," she said,
